About this vendor
Based in Sacramento, CA, Botanical Preserves is a full-service florist specializing in intricate wedding arrangements. This expert views floristry and flowers through an ethereal lens. She sees beauty in the distinct characteristics of each arrangement, designed with inspiration from the couples who commission her.
Owner and lead florist, Sophia de Young found her way into the industry through chance. After studying and working as an artist, she was introduced to working with flowers as a medium during a styled photoshoot. Her initial curiosity and admiration for flora had now blossomed into a fruitful career. Sophia takes inspiration from the restorative properties and distinct personalities that flowers and plants in general, possess. Together with her creative sensibilities, she designs floral arrangements that hold a sense of value and meaning to the clients she works with.
Botanical Preserves offers a full range of services that cover a variety of event items for special occasions. These can include the likes of intricate centerpieces and aisle decor to personalized bouquets and boutonnieres. Though Sophia is based in California she is more than happy to travel to destination weddings all over.

The florals for our wedding were absolutely gorgeous and so unique! Sophia made sure that she captured the tones and style that I wanted and her designs made our wedding.

et was like nothing I had ever seen before and exactly what I hoped for.. I felt like she completely captured me and the mood and feel I wanted. Thank you so much for not only making our wedding memorable and beautiful, but also making our wedding photos pop.
If I could give more than five stars I would!
Sophia is amazing! She is a great listener and so easy to work with. She saw my vision and went above and beyond to make it come to life. She used all locally grow flowers and foun...
d the dahlias I specifically wanted. They were stunning! I had a specific floral back drop I wanted and she executed it perfectly! With all the craziness and how stressful planning a wedding Sophia helped ease the stress by having great communication with me and creating pieces that were even more beautiful than I imagined. I would highly recommend Botanical Preserves!
Loooooved working with Sophia!! I decided that I wanted go have a destination wedding in Florida even though I live in California within 3 months of getting engaged and Sophie was ...
wonderful at helping me decide what I wanted because I didn’t really know exactly the look I wanted. All I knew was I wanted it to have a tropical vibe and my wedding colors. That was all she had to work with from me so that’s when she started giving me ideas! She was very knowledgeable about color schemes and what was in season and how to keep everything within my budget without compromising the look.
My favorite most favorite detail that really touched my heart was my bouquet. She made it so personalized. I noticed in all the weddings I’ve ever been too, most florists focus on making the bouquet only look good for the people looking at the bride not so much for the bride who is holding it and sees it from a different angle than everyone else but in my case, Sophia made it so that me (the bride) when I looked down at it some of the flowers happily looked up at me in a way that I never expected!! So one of my favorite memories of my special day was looking down at my bouquet for the first time and realizing that and being able to have something beautiful to look at whenever I got nervous. I thought it was just the sweetest touch ❤️
She was very professional and helpful throughout every step. I appreciated very much that she really took the time to made sure I loved the options she was giving me before she purchased anything but I also trusted her with choosing things I didn’t understand. I never felt overwhelmed or that I didn’t have enough options either it was a nice balance. Once everything was put together it was just breathtaking. My guests where amazed at the work! My center pieces of flowers everyone wanted to take them home. I am so thankful that she was willing to fly out for me to make that day one that I will never forget!! I 1000% recommend her!
I had a blast working with Sophie! She is super talented in arranging flowers as well as is super accommodating when it comes to requests.

dding and the majority of our decorations were feathers. Sophie was able to create such beautiful arrangements that not only matched our colors but matched our theme perfectly! I received so many compliments on my bouquet as well and it just looks stunning in our photos! I would definitely hire her for future events! :)
