Ok, so, going into this process, my now husband and I weren't passionate about flowers. In fact, my main preference was that the flowers not look too "weddingy," which for me meant not too over-the-top or precious...it just didn't feel like us. Our wedding planner sent us a few options, and I am SO glad we went with Amy. I am now a flower believer, because her design completely transformed our wedding, and helped fulfill the more airy, non-traditional, and creative vision I had for our special day.
I told her that I didn't have a "theme" or anything like that, but that I was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's house, "Falling Water," especially the way the house interacts with and reflects the nature surrounding it. Our wedding was in a private garden residence, so I wanted the flowers to enhance and highlight the setting rather than overpower it. Amy came back with what honestly looked like modern art. She created this ceiling installation that looked like the waterfalls on the property, using pops of color mixed with local grasses and pottery bulbs as the "bubbles". The flower arrangements on the tables were so elegant - a mix of ikebana and lush summer blooms. You have no idea how many people have come up to us raving about the flowers and overall design. This woman is a true artist. In addition, she is a dream to work with, totally low key and patient, really listens, and didn't mind holding our hand a little. AND, she was able to dispose of all the those plants with almost zero waste, by recycling them in different ways!
I can't speak more highly...hiring her was one of our absolute best decisions in this whole process. You won't regret it!
NOTE: If you want more traditional flowers, I'm sure she is more than capable of that as well.
Hiring Bourgeon was one of our best wedding decisions! Amy is a total pro -- she was happy to collaborate but also deeply knowledgable and able to guide the design. My bouquet was exquisite, the venue looked stunning, and our chuppah was a total masterpiece. It was everything we'd hoped and then some! We can't wait to see it all again once we get our photos. Thanks, Amy!
I cannot rave about Bourgeon's work enough! Amy Febinger, the creative director, orchestrated the most incredibly spectacular floral display at our wedding. She created 3 flower clouds hanging from our tent, an amazing staircase/entryway installation, my bouquet, and all of our table decor without a hitch. Every single guest complimented her designs. It was SUCH a pleasure working with her and her team. They are friendly, professional, and creative. Everything was just perfect. Thank you Amy!!!
Amy is such a skilled florist and visionary. She brought such enthusiasm and creativity to the wedding. Her flowers really transformed the venue and were the standouts of the evening. I wish I could have made my bouquet last forever! They were easy to work with and had a great team that accommodated all of our needs.
Words cannot describe how gorgeous and simply magical everything was when we walked into our wedding venue and saw Amy and her team's work! The flowers were beyond our wildest dreams -- GORGEOUS and absolutely PERFECT. Everything from the bouquets to the ceremony arrangements to the beautiful table arrangements, stunning linens Amy sourced and lovely taper candles -- it was all so exquisitely done and just what we envisioned (and so much more). I cannot recommend Amy and her team at Bourgeon highly enough!
Amy and her team at Bourgeon are incredibly talented and passionate professionals who made our wedding day stunning. Picking a florist was one of the hardest decisions I made in the planning process because I had a very specific vision, but once we spoke with Amy, it became clear that she was the one to work with. She is wonderfully personable and easy to talk to, her creative vision aligned perfectly with mine and, even more, she provided ideas that I hadn’t, or couldn’t have, thought of myself. She transformed our intimate, indoor space into a lush, romantic garden.
I planned an NYC wedding from Texas so communication was key. Amy was very prompt to reply to any emails my mom, our coordinator, or I sent, and she facilitated our flatware and silverware rentals. She recommended rental vendors and worked with them to get us the best price and to make sure that everything on our tables worked in harmony.
The whole process from beginning consultation to her team meticulously setting everything up in the space was seamless and stress-free. We couldn’t be happier with the result, and truly cannot recommend Bourgeon highly enough.
Amy at bourgeon is a special person to me. We used to work together and would talk about our dream jobs. When she quit the industry to pursue her dreams as a florist, and I got married, there was only 1 person I wanted doing the flowers for the most important day of my life. I knew that she would put her heart and soul into making the flowers exactly how I envisioned them. And she exceeded my imagination. She is a true collaborator and really listens to what the bride wants. She has great suggestions but isn't pushy about them. We went to dinner to discuss my thoughts originally and met later at the flower market to look at what was in season. Her flowers are unique with a sense of vision and definitely not cookie cutter. If you want special flowers for your special day, go to Amy - someone who will think they are just as special as you will.
