We had our ceremony in the North Ballroom off to the side of it framed against the window and then had the reception set-up behind. We came up with a floor plan that they had not done before (tables in an oval shape to put the dance floor in the middle) and they helped make it work. If we had had our ceremony in the summer, I can only imagine how stunning the outdoor arbor would be! However, we took some stunning pictures outside with snow on the ground, and the evergreen trees helped to make a winter wonderland. Also, the ballroom itself is amazing with gorgeous 8 feet chandeliers to make you feel elegant! Overall, Bowling Green is very accommodating and wants to help you make the day what you want. We were able to set-up our part the evening before and do the rehearsal the night before too. Then the morning after the wedding we were able to come pick-up our items and they had put it all together for us. While I highly recommend Bowling Green, I will say some patience is involved. The team does a lot of weddings, so you have to make sure you follow-up and remember the things you ask for. Our wedding was in January, so we found the end months a bit tricky because November they are coming off their busy season, then its the holidays, and then staff takes leave because it is their slow season. This was a bit frustrating in the weeks leading up the wedding because it felt like we never became a priority because they were busy and then they were gone. But at the end of the day, the wedding was stunning and everything went so smoothly - just make sure you keep up good communication with Catherine and team and they will make our dreams come true!

That week there was also chance of rain on our big day and everyone was great with coming up with a back up plan if need be! We hired a day of coordinator to help keep us on track during our big day. We didn't have to hire anyone out side of Bowling Green, we were provided Catherine at a little additional cost and she was so great and helpful through out the wedding planning process. The food was also very delicious, Tina and her team did a great job. There was a particular drink that my husband and I wanted for the reception and Adam our bartender made sure to have everything that we needed for the drink and made it happen. I also loved the convince of being able to have my ceremony under a beautiful arbor and my reception indoors and clean up was so quick. Everyone was so happy and friendly and very helpful! I would totally recommend Bowling Green anyone looking for a venue.

Phillishia and her mother were superstars right off the bat and continued to impress us all the way through the process. They both went out of their way to help with our decorations, create a custom diner menu, and work with us during the COVID situation. There is nothing we would change about our event. e hunt, there is such a wide range of prices and offerings! Bowling Green was the best value we found anywhere and that by no means meant we compromised the look and feel we wanted for our wedding. On the contrary, we would say Bowling Green is one of the most customizable venues out there (from the look and feel to the delicious menu). They have tons of decor you can borrow which is economical AND it feels awesome to have wedding items be reused and not wasted. My husband and I wanted a Fall vibe for our late November wedding and the venue staff and Phillishia went above and beyond to make our vision a reality. We said we wanted a hot cider bar for our cocktail hour and Phillishia crafted a gorgeous space for it more beautiful than anything we’d seen on Pinterest. Also! This venue has all the linen combos you could imagine and they come with the package! We did wine red napkins, ivory tables, and gold chargers (Phillishia’s idea back when we toured in Summer) and it looked stunning. Both ballrooms are so cozy and one of the main reasons we loved the outdoor ceremony space was the beautiful mountain backdrop. I could go on, but they last thing I’ll add is that every single staff member was so incredibly kind. We had complete confidence that they would host the most important people in our lives well. When our wedding day arrived, our day was so lovely and we didn’t have to stretch our budget to get it. Communicate your wedding vision to this venue and they will make it your reality. The space was beautiful and barely needed any additional decor to begin with. It has lots of Victorian charm with beautiful fireplaces, hardwood floors, crown moldings, and pillars! There is also a magical element to both ballrooms (north and south) with the twinkling lights. The event coordinator, Phillishia Phlew is absolutely AMAZING! She is such a warm, kind, and hardworking person who truly aims to please and make your day everything you want it to be! I am SO tremendously grateful to her as she is what really sealed the deal on us booking this place for our special day. Having someone who is so well seasoned in weddings was such a blessing! We loved our Southern BBQ buffet, and our guests couldn't stop gushing about it! The chef is incredibly talented and loved working with us on our menu, even including vegan and gluten free meals for guests on request! If you want a wedding in the mountains, this place is amazing and we cannot recommend them enough!

Phillishia is the best, any questions I had (Which was a lot) she emailed me back or got into contact with me almost immediately anytime of day even on weekends! We went to the tasting of the food in case they had options that we didn’t necessarily have in the booklet we were given, and so glad we did! We actually customized what we wanted from appetizers to even having a fruit and cheese table next to the bar. We met with the cook and he was very helpful on customizing our menus as well. As for the venue itself absolutely gorgeous, we didn’t have much decorations for the outside portion because we did a fall wedding and the flowers were still in bloom and it pulled together our rustic wedding theme! The inside venue was everything we hoped and dreamed of very beautiful. The only thing I think That should be changed is the fact the south bowling green doesn’t have a big enough sign, even though I put In our invitations that they needed to keep going to get to the right venue site people still needed up at the north because of how big the sign was. All in all it was a fabulous wedding venue and the staff is amazing! Definitely check this place out!

She gave us recommended vendors who were all fantastic, and it worked out well that lots of the vendors knew each other. Every time I had a question, she answered it in just a few minutes - even on her days off! She showed a lot of passion and care for our wedding! She made sure things ran smoothly on the day-of, and coordinated with our DJ and photographer. I didn't have to lift a finger! The venue itself was also absolutely amazing. We had our ceremony outside by the white arbor, where our florist hung a garland. Phillishia moved the flowers inside for the reception to get more use out of them! We rented chairs that were all set up outside and moved inside for the reception by Phillishia and her crew. She helped us line up for walking down the aisle and made sure everything went smoothly! The South Ballroom really came to life with Phillishia's decorating powers! She has the cutest lights wrapped in tulle that drape between the windows. Those lights and the hardwood floors were what really stuck out to me about this venue. No ugly carpeting like so many other country clubs! You can really make this space your own. We brought our own decorations that Phillishia helped to set up the day before and on the day of the wedding. She did a fantastic job. Everything came out perfect! If it had rained, the South Ballroom would have been used as our ceremony location. Since I liked the ballroom so much, I wasn't really worried about rain since it would have also made a beautiful ceremony! My mom was worried about having golf carts outside the building for the wedding. I thought it was such a small nit pick that we shouldn't worry about it. I asked Phillishia about it, and she very graciously had them moved! This woman worked so hard for us, and I couldn't be happier with the way it all turned out! Definitely a great choice for a wedding!

Both of the wedding coordinators (Phillishia and Rikki) were incredible. Phillishia helped us immensely leading up to our wedding day and was so accommodating and kind. Every meeting and email we exchanged with her only left us more excited for our big day!! She took so much of the stress out of planning and made sure we had everything we needed. Responses were quick, too! The food was fantastic as well, and the bartender was so friendly. All of our guests had an amazing time, and we had the wedding we always imagined and then some!

Plus as a vendor, it's important that we eat when the couple eats to ensure we are ready for the next event and they always ensure that we are fed and have silverware as well as plenty of water throughout the day! is beautifully decorated this time of year with all the flowers and greenery. They do a fantastic job on the upkeep too. The morning of our wedding, the staff was outside adding fresh soil and making sure the flowers looked their best after it had rained the day before. The inside is equally as beautiful with the tables all decorated in white and the window drapery with lights. By itself, there wasn’t much decorating we needed to do other than the tables themselves. The staff made us feel at home throughout our whole wedding. They made sure we were always taken special care of and if we needed anything at all, just to ask. And like many before us, no review is complete without mentioning Phillishia. She is hands down the best and made the whole experience completely stress free. From the endless emails asking questions to stopping by in person, she was always available and more than happy to help. She is a joy to be around and she has a way of making you calm and relaxed. She went a long way in making our wedding day go off without a hitch!

What grabbed me in was the concrete walk way at the arbor and Phillishia. I did not want a venue where I had to walk in the grass and this was one of the only ones. I’m so glad we went with this venue. It made my wedding come true how I wanted it. My husband and I would 1000% recommend this venue to everyone that wants a friendly and easy going staff, professional environment, great bar tender, knowledgeable and accommodating coordinator, beautiful scenery and ballroom, and most importantly...to have your wedding as perfect as can be. She was nothing but gracious, sweet, friendly, funny, lighthearted, kind and incredibly helpful. The chef, Vito, was an absolute pleasure to work with and custom made our entire menu. The guests raved on and on about how delicious the food was and how gorgeous the venue was. With the slightest bit of instruction regarding menu and food, Phillishia and Vito took our ideas and ran with them and created the perfect space for us to get married and the perfect menu to accompany our wedding. In the days leading up to the wedding, Phillishia had multiple "surprises" for us - such as new gorgeous planters for the outdoor arbor - because she knew I wanted a little extra decoration in the arbor and knew I would be over the moon excited that she had ordered new planters. She took the time to get to know us and our needs and was able to create the perfect ceremony and reception spaces just from listening to us. I honestly cannot say enough times how easy wedding planning was with a coordinator like Phillishia. Not only did she handle everything leading up to the wedding, on the day off she was bustling around at a million miles an hour handling any and everything (and things I hadn't even thought of or asked her to handle - such as immediately making us a plate of food from the buffet when dinner was served). If you are in the process of looking for a wedding venue, I urge you to look no further than BGCC. The venue is gorgeous, inside and out, and I am entirely certain that Phillishia and Vito will make your wedding planning and your big day as special as they made ours. They are absolutely top notch.

Phillishia was technically our Day of Coordinator with BGCC, but saying that would severely minimize the incredible role she played throughout the year between our selecting the venue and getting married. She has a wonderful, upbeat personality, and is incredibly responsive, which was so important as a bride balancing dozens of details at a time! She was knowledgeable and provided recommendations for other vendors and feedback on our ideas, and was overall incredibly accommodating and dedicated to making sure it was the best experience possible for me and my guests. When we were running short on time, she offered to help put up the decorations so that I could spend more time with my family. Phillishia is a wonderful person who was perfect for the job, and working with her will be one of the best decisions any bride can make. The food was delicious and Vito, their chef, was incredibly flexible with the menu--willing to try new flavors to make the wedding taste perfect for the couple. While the venue's tasting arrangements were different than we expected, it was a fun experience that introduced us to new dishes that we may not have thought to incorporate on our own. The service was timed well and the staff was very polite. We keep receiving compliments from gracious guests on the bartenders' speedy service. Having my wedding at Bowling Green was truly a dream come true and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Phillishia is absolutely amazing!! The chef, Vito is incredible!! I will without a doubt recommend this location to anyone/everyone. My husband loved golfing there as well! I’m sure he’ll be back soon! There’s no surprise that BGCC has been awarded the “couples choice” on the Knot for several years. We literally cannot say enough glowing things about this venue. As a perfectionist, this place is awesome. From day one, we knew this was a perfect fit for us. The staff was attentive and amazing. I can’t begin to explain how amazing our experience truly was. The reason we used this word is my daughter text us as she was heading to their honeymoon destination, “The Wedding was Perfect!!” Trust me, this was the biggest day of her life, she wouldn’t lie to us. 😊 All throughout the day her smile was as big as it could be and all the tears were happy tears. The reason the day was such a success was Phillishia, the events director at the country club. She guided us from the minute we knew it was the right place until the time we walked out of the reception. She made the entire day stress free. She was always available to help and worked with us on every tweak and special request we had along the way. She turned our vision into a reality! The day of the wedding she was on top of everything…somehow always busy, yet always available to us for anything we needed….Super Women! The entire staff was wonderful and extremely polite making the experience for every guest very welcoming. For many guests it was a great way to say “Welcome to Virginia”, so we thank them very much for that. Phillishia had worked with Julie Napear Photography and GS Productions (Greg Sanchez) several times before and it was a combination we would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat! They all knew how important this day was to all of us and they made sure it was the day we wanted for our daughter. She made me feel so at ease through the whole process. We planned our wedding in 10 months. You work with Phillishia and only her from the beginning. She was so welcoming and inviting. I knew she genuinely care about us from the beginning. They make it easy with catering and alcohol provided by them. Their open bar prices are extremely reasonable and the food was delicious. We went to numerous tastings. We even decided to have out rehearsal dinner at the club. My wedding day was worry free with Phillishia there and on day of, she did make me feel like a princess, well taken care of and exactly what I wanted.
