Give your wedding guests an experience to remember with Brass from the Past – Chicago’s premier cover band, rated as one of the best by CBS News. Unlike an ordinary cover band, our 12 piece ensemble uses custom arrangements to keep each song true to its original sound. We pay tribute to legends of rock, soul, funk, R&B, and Motown with state-of-the-art equipment (Meyer Sound and Midas) and stage lighting for concert-like performances. Our brass band features a large horn section with 100% live instrumentals and vocals for unforgettable weddings. Whether we’re belting out rock classics of the 60s and 70s, or crooning soul hits of the 70s and 80s, Brass from the Past will have your guests energized and on the dance floor all night long.

Amazing! They performed at our wedding and KNOCKED it out of the park! The dance floor was always packed and everyone continuously kept complimenting how amazing they sounded! I would highly recommend booking them for your wedding too!

Brass From the Past made our wedding reception magical. The dance floor was packed the whole night with our guests across 3 generations. Everyone loved the music and have been talking about it for months! Before our big day John was fantastic and easy to work with. The night went flawlessly because of the attention to detail they gave leading up to it. We couldn't give them a higher recommendation.

Thank you John and the entire Band for such a fabulous performance. Our guests cannot stop talking about how BFTP completed our Wedding as an Incredible Event on the big stage. The staff at the Genesee Theatre was uniquely impressed as well. We have some fantastic pictures of you all on Stage that I will put together and send to you. Feel free to use them however you like. We are still on Cloud 9 from our wedding a few months ago. Every guest we have talked to since the wedding proclaims the band to be the best part of the night. The band accommodated all of our crazy requests and just simply killed it with a packed dance floor all night long. My brother-in-law also said how nice and helpful the guitarist and band members were with helping him set up his sound equipment for the ceremony (he sang for us and BFTP played acoustic guitar). We definitely plan to see the band again at one of their public gigs soon and already started recruiting some of the other wedding guests to come with us. BFTP Rocks! They were hands down the best part about the reception and they were easy, accommodating and responsive during the planning stages.

5.0 star rating 1/15/2015 BFTP--Thank you for such a wonderful performance at our wedding reception at the Newberry. I was particularly grateful for all the special touches you put to work for us. From start to finish, the dance floor was unbelievably packed, and Mike and I had such a blast dancing all night long. In fact, I'm still recovering from some blisters! I've also heard a lot of high praise for your performance from our guests--lots of unsolicited compliments about the great music selection, quality vocals and, of course, the awesome horns section. You guys helps make memories that will last a lifetime for us!!

BFTP performed at my wedding reception this past weekend and the dance floor was overflowing from the very first song through the very last. They are one of those bands that 30 seconds into the first song you know you made the right choice, and your guests know they're in for a hell of a night. Working with John was super easy, and the family aspect the band has really helps you stay at ease throughout the process. We cannot recommend BFTP enough, and are looking forward to telling people we had them back when! Thank you guys and girls so much for making our wedding so fun!

This band deserves 20 stars!!! I saw the band perform and immediately inquired about weddings. I hired them for my daughter's wedding in April. (Sorry my review is so late!) They were so easy to work with, extremely accommodating, pleasant and professional. They were loaded in on time and ready to begin as scheduled, and dressed professionally. I added on the jazz trio during cocktail hour and dinner. What a nice touch and very elegant. They played music for everyone and kept the dance floor jumping all night - in fact we even extended the party! The vocalists are truly talented, experienced singers. The musicians are extremely talented as well. We had 13 pieces - many many horns and even congas! Prices about even or maybe a little bit more reasonable than the "wedding bands" we were considering. This isn't a wedding band, this is a professional, high energy, experienced band that plays weddings! Do yourself and your event a favor - call John and check these folks out!! It made the night memorable for my daughter and new son. And if you aren't planning a big event - look them up and go see them! It's a fun night out and you'll be singing along! They're on my favorites list now for sure
