d makeup services they would provide a wait time for their clients (i.e 3-4 business days) so they are aware of when they will receive a reply back. Since COVID-19 many services have been booked years in advance and are backlogged from weddings being postponed, so I have been booking and inquiring now for our early 2024 date. I noticed Bree was posting a lot of Instagram videos and decided to DM to see if I could reach her there or see if I just had to wait a little longer. Her page also does not say you cannot send her a DM and if she was not accepting DMs she just had to ignore my message (which she later told me in our short conversation that DMs are not accepted). She then replied to me and told me she does not book that far in advance and only books 4 months out and then told me to look for someone else, which is really short noticed for a lot of brides. I was going to wait as she seemed like she was worth the wait and try at getting her, but she was incredibly rude and short in her messages to me. I told her I was not aware of her policy and asked if it was possible to at least see her price guide as I am comparing quotes. She instantly said no and told me to contact her friend instead and that we were not a good fit. I have never in my life had such a negative and rude experience like this in my life. She made me feel very ugly and not heard in how she dismissed me and told me I am not the "right fit" for her services when I didn't even get to explain anything about my wedding or what we were looking for.
Also to be as transparent as possible I said to her "Hello! Emailed you and have not gotten a response, it's been a week I think"
She asked when my date was and I said, "Feb. 21, 2024"
She continually said she is not the right fit for me and kept dismissing our conversation to then say "I don't use IG to communicate with clients. You wanted me to get back to you within a week. You are not honoring my response. I don't book into 2024 and I don't have pricing to share with you. I don't feel I can accommodate your requests, so I do not feel we are a fit. Have a great wedding day on beautiful Maui"
-if she didn't use IG to communicate to clients then don't reply to my message
-I did not want her to get back to me within a week. I actually didn't even know the response time which is WHY I was trying to get in contact in some way or see if my message was lost or not received
-I was not honoring her response is a complete and utter lie since she was not friendly from the second she opened my message and was confusing me with why she was being so passive aggressive
-I was unaware she does not book into 2024 which is why I was following up
-You can't say you can't accommodate someones request when they are inquiring early and you have no idea what they are even looking for. If anything I have had every single business I have contacted be so appreciative with me booking in advance and have told me it's the best thing to do with how busy they are.
Hair and makeup is one of the most important parts of the wedding look and for her to think my request was barbaric is absurd, especially because she is in the wedding industry! So unbelievably disappointed and disturbed by this interaction.

to get in touch with my wedding planner about day of details, despite my numerous texts and emails asking her to coordinate with my planner. No other vendors I hired did this. When my planner reached out directly, Bree wouldn't respond. I even had to field questions from Bree while getting ready for my rehearsal dinner the night before my wedding, which was extremely stressful.
My MOH couldnt attend my wedding due to her pregnancy and dropped out about about 2 months prior. Bree would not remove her hair from my contract. My mother decided last minute to add makeup since Bree wouldn't remove the extra hair, but she is extremely unethical.
I cannot speak to Bree's skills as a stylist since she called out sick at 8 pm the night before my wedding. She had another stylist, Nikki fill in. Nikki was terrific. Bree still charged me the $150 travel fee, despite the fact that she didn't even end up traveling since she called out sick.
I had also wanted to ask Bree a few questions over phone as my wedding got closer, as, I never got my make up done before, and she was very stingy with her time...citing she would only talk for 10 minutes. We didn't end up needing more time, but her communication really rubbed me the wrong way.
Do yourself a favor, dont hire Bree. She is not friendly or professional.

t still looked at the end of the day. I mean, absolutely flawless. My husband and I did a full day adventure elopement - hiking and sweating our way through Maui from 7 AM until 9 PM. Bree started my makeup at 4:30 AM, and I am not kidding when I say it was still completely intact when we got back to our condo at 10 PM. It withstood the Hawaiian heat, humidity, rain, ridiculous wind, and crying through my vows - and looked perfect at every moment. Not only that, but it was completely perfect for me. I prefer a more natural look, and Bree listened to exactly what I wanted and provided suggestions for what would fit with my preferences while still looking great in photos and in the changing natural light throughout the day. I felt so beautiful all day, and was totally blown away with how great my makeup looked in our photos. My hair was also gorgeous! I have incredibly thick, heavy hair, and most styles don’t hold up well throughout the day. Bree helped me achieve the absolute perfect boho style, and I could not believe how great it still looked at the end of a day getting whipped around by wind. Bree was also so professional, responsive, flexible, and an absolute pleasure to work with! She is so sweet, fun, easy to talk to, and wants every one of her clients to look and feel their best. If you have a chance to work with Bree for your wedding or elopement, absolutely book her!

I wanted my makeup to be done and then proceeded to do my makeup the way she felt was best and not exactly what I wanted, and disregarded my requests. She was extremely flexible about setting up in the Airbnb, took time with each of us, but was also very efficient, and worked carefully to do touch-ups and changes for us at the last minute. I don't wear much make-up, but I wanted to look great for my wedding day, so I was nervous to have a make-up artist do my make-up. Being a worry-wart, I was terrified I wouldn't look good and my day would be ruined. Bree was able to make me feel comfortable and took my needs into account. Knowing I wasn't used to wearing a ton of make-up she made sure to do a natural look that was natural enough to appease me, yet heavy enough to look good in pictures (being blonde and pale, I don't always look fantastic in pictures if the lighting is too bright). I also have skin problems, some of which can flare up with the wrong make-up, so she was willing to work with me to use a mixture of her make-up collection and my make-up, to try to minimize the chance that I'd break out! The day went well, and she put the right amount of make-up on me, so I looked great in my pictures. She also did a fantastic job with my hair, doing a half-up and half- down style with curls so I could have the beautiful hair I'd always wanted for a special event. I'd highly recommend Bree Rubin for your hair and make-up!
On a side note, I'd like to remind brides to keep some foundation with you. I accidentally kept rubbing my nose against my husband so eventually my nose looked red in my candid shots later that night, and I didn't realize until the party was over. Make-up is magical, but not permanent, so make sure to keep some make-up with you just in case or put your maid of honor in charge of keeping an eye on you! ;)
