Brena Band

When my husband and I started planning our wedding we knew we wanted a band. Brena came highly recommended and it's obvious why- they are the reason that our wedding was the absolute BLAST that it was! They brought our dream ceremony to life by playing the instrumental versions of all the songs we envisioned for the prelude, processional, and recessional. They played perfect covers of the songs we chose for the first dances, incorporated some last minute special iPod song requests during their short breaks, brought out some insanely fun props towards the end of the night, and, finally, played my husband and I the perfect private last dance to finish off the reception. The emcee didn't miss a beat and Craig made the planning process a breeze. We could rave on and on about how they made our night a dream come true, but in reality, the only way to experience how incredible they are is to see them do their thing live. We would hire them a million times over again and will definitely be catching them at some of their performances around West Michigan soon!

I knew I needed live music at our wedding and after hearing Brena at The Score, I then knew I needed them! We had the best night dancing away with the band, playing fake instruments, scream singing songs, and all our guests were up and dancing. We also had them play the music at our ceremony and it was incredibly special and heartfelt to hear the soundtrack of our love story come to life! I cannot recommend hiring Brena enough, it MADE our wedding.

Hands down, the best thing about our wedding day. Brena is EXCEPTIONAL. They are insanely talented, interactive with our guests, and provided SO MUCH fun.

Brena was a no brainer choice for us for our wedding. A large reason that we waited 2 years to get married was so we could have Brena at our wedding. Right when my husband and I moved to Grand Rapids, and went to the score and saw them play. We knew instantly they where the band we wanted that day. Boy, was that the best decision we made. They delivered beyond what we could expect. We've already had multiple family members and friends come up and ask how they can book them. Just an out of the world band. They not only make sure the details are on point, but have so much fun doing it and you can tell. I'd make sure to snag them for your big day or event, they will always deliver!!!

Brena was incredible! When we had to reschedule our wedding a few times, we rebooked our final wedding date based off of their availability because I knew I had to have them be a part of our day. People were on the dance floor all night, the playlist was awesome, and I have had several guests reach out to me that it was the best band they have ever seen at a wedding. They made my night and I will be re-living it for years to come!

The best ever! In 2021 we basically scheduled our wedding date around Brena's availability and I'm so glad we did! People were on the dance floor the whole night!They are so easy to work with and really flexible. We hired them for our cocktail hour and their string quartet during the ceremony too. Everyone can't stop talking about how good our band was and how they are the best band they have ever heard!! I would recommend to anyone thinking about a band for your wedding, definitely worth every single penny.

I cannot say enough positive things about Brena! They truly made our wedding the dance party I hoped it would be! We booked them about a year and a half out after reading other reviews and listening to their demos. I saw that other couples picked their date around Brena's availability, and I see why! Their music - at the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception - was truly amazing. Many people told us how much they enjoyed the band. Beyond excellent music, they were SO responsive and detail oriented and helped me feel confident and at ease through the whole planning process. They learned a new song for our ceremony, helped shorten our first dance perfectly, and learned a new song to accompany a vocalist friend who performed at the reception. I looked at many other music options for our wedding, listening to other recordings and emailing with other groups. I learned that some bands don't have fixed lineups, so who you see in the recording may not be who comes to your wedding. Brena has been playing together for many years; the people you see in their videos are who will show up, which is hugely reassuring. They are amazing musicians, so professional, and so fun. You don't need to look any further than Brena!!

We postponed our wedding twice due to Covid and Brena stuck with us the entire way. The best decision we made other than saying “I do” was having Brena as our band for the reception! People were on the dance floor the minute they started playing until the minute they stopped. Many of our guests said they are the best wedding band they’ve ever heard and they asked if we would refer them for future parties. We didn’t necessarily make things easy for Craig but he never complained once and was very friendly and flexible throughout the entire process. Thinking about getting married again just so we can have them play for us!

Brena is the absolute BEST choice you can make to create an incredible wedding day & night filled with incredible music and a lively celebration. I would recommend them to absolutely every bride & groom, as they could not be easier to work with, and are by far the best band I have ever heard! They will play music that satisfies all ages, and are happy to incorporate special requests. Stephen is an amazing MC, and keeps the crowd happy and engaged without being too much. Without a doubt, Brena was a *highlight* of our wedding. They were one of the first things we booked after getting engaged -- I knew they would be the perfect choice for our wedding to be a fun filled night (and they were!) Craig was so easy to work with, and so communicative. We had Brena play for the whole event (ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception) and they sure did deliver! We still have people telling us how much fun our wedding was and how much Brena was a part of that. They kept the dance floor packed ALL night long. Simply the best! Our wedding celebration had to be postponed a year due to Covid, but the silver lining was that we were able to book Brena for our outdoor party on our lawn . Having a blast on the dance floor was my #1 priority, and they sure delivered. Craig was fantastic to work with from beginning to end. We asked if they could learn our first dance song, and they absolutely nailed it. They kept the energy going for the whole night, even though it was a humid evening and probably about 100º on the stage. Our guests have not stopped raving about them! Even our neighbors who weren't at the party have stopped by to tell us they loved the music (one lady took her dog for three walks during the party so she could keep listening). Now we just have to think of another excuse to throw a party so we can book them again!

Brena was absolutely incredible for our wedding! I’ve been following them since 2014 around West Michigan and they did not disappoint! When the wedding planning started, Brena was a MUST and the first priority. The dance floor was packed from the moment they started playing. Everyone was highly impressed with their energy and vibe! Very easy to work with pre wedding and very accommodating. Brena is the best party band!

My husband and I main priority for our wedding was to make sure that people danced all night and had FUN. If this is a goal of yours too, you need to hire Brena. I am pretty sure every guest at our wedding came up to us and told us that they were the best band they have ever seen. I woke up to several text the day after our wedding that were all saying "we cannot stop talking about how much fun we had on the dance floor last night, that was epic!". We couldn't agree more. Every time I looked on the dance floor it was full and every had the biggest smile on their face and the floor was never empty. They sounded incredible, played every song we picked off their set list, and were so engaging with our guest. They were nothing short of amazing to work with. Craigs responsiveness and ease of working with made this such a great experience. Their professionalism, calmness, timeliness and positive attitudes day of were so appreciated. They made us feel completely at ease and like the party was in good hands. I cannot recommend them enough.

Best Band in West Michigan. From the first song to the last they sounded fantastic and were very professional. They even MC'ed the wedding and made sure during the break to play a polka and Greek music to honor our heritage. The dance floor was always packed, never a lull. I was sad the night had to end!

Brena Band was FANTASTIC for our wedding!!! The dance floor was packed from the moment they started playing and they also did a beautiful job at our ceremony and the jazz ensemble during cocktail hour. My father played cello with them for our first dance and they could not have been more accommodating or welcoming. It was a truly special moment that they helped facilitate. From the moment we started talking with them, Craig was easy to communicate with and made us feel assured that the band would be great. In addition to the music they had a seamless microphone set up for our officiant and readers at our outdoor ceremony (even my hard of hearing grandfather could hear the whole ceremony over the wind!). We had to postpone our wedding due to COVID and Brena made an otherwise stressful situation a little less stressful :) My husband and I are thrilled we had Brena perform at our wedding and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a PERFECT band for their special day!

Stop! There is no need to research any more bands for your wedding or special event. Brena is your ONLY choice if you want to create memories that will last forever! We hired them to play for our son’s wedding this past weekend (6/5/21) and from the opening chords of “Come on Eileen” to the closing notes of “LovelyDay”, the dance floor was PACKED the entire evening. The musicianship of all members was incredible. We had asked them to learn 3 songs and they nailed them all (and Bohemian Rhapsody is not that easy - lol). To top it off, all of them were so nice and accommodating . I think they were having as much fun as we were. Two days after the event and the common theme we are hearing from all those that attended - beautiful wedding and a phenomenal band! Don’t delay - book Brena immediately!

Brena is by far the best band to work with and to have play for a wedding or any special occasion. They know how to make everyone, no matter the age, have fun on the dance floor. The guests raved about the music! They were also responsive and accommodating when trying to replan our wedding after postponing due to COVID as well, which was very appreciated. Brena was what made our reception so perfect. The band was so accommodating with the many changes COVID threw our way. They were kind, professional, prompt, courteous and SO much fun. We honestly can’t wait to book them again for future events. A week after our wedding, friends and family are still talking about how Brena Absolutely made this such a great event. As the bride, I worried about people having fun. That was a ridiculous worry because there was no way people wouldn’t have fun if Brena is playing. Wow, Brena was outstanding! A highlight for all of our guests of all ages at our daughter’s wedding reception in Boyne Falls at the EK Preserve last weekend. They played a wide range of music using a wide range of instruments and didn’t disappoint in any genre. From Kenny Loggins to Garth Brooks and Dexy’s Midnight Runners to Smashmouth... and everything in between. Really talented and entertaining group of artists! They helped our coordinators and venue staff keep the evening organized, too. Would hire them again in a second!

They are the BEST!! They made our wedding flow so smoothly. Our guests were on the dance floor the whole evening and I am still getting rave reviews about their set list and how excellent the band was. The first time I heard Brena at Bay Pointe Inn on Gun Lake, "I said I want them to play at my wedding." We thought they had the perfect blend of music, fantastic entertainment skills, and an absolutely brilliant sound with their combination of instruments and voices. 6 years later, they did. My wife and I try to see them play whenever possible and relive the best night of our lives that Brena was such a huge part in making possible. Anyone who is lucky enough to tab one of their free weekend nights in the summer is in for the best night ever.

We started planning my daughters wedding 15 months ago. Every venue we went to we asked what band would you recommend and they all said Brena. We went and listened to them and thought they were really good so we planned the wedding on a date they were available. Really good does not begin to describe how incredible they were. They were so easy to work with and honored every request we had, but wow were they phenomenal the night of the wedding. The dance floor was packed the entire night , they knew just what to play to make everyone dance all night long! My phone was ringing off the hook all the next week asking me their name and how to contact them. They were absolutely AMAZING!!!!!! If you are planning a wedding they should be on the top of your list!!!!

If you don't hire these guys to play at your wedding, you're an idiot. I'm telling you, there is no other band in the world that can do what these guys do. You and ALL of your guests will be dancing all the way through the night until the venue has to forcibly kick you out. You can preview them at many venues throughout Michigan because all these guys do is rock all week long. Just make sure to bring a spare set of underpants as you might ruin them from being so amazed at how good these guys are. I can't even describe how happy we were about having Brena celebrate with us. Hire them now, or forever be known as an idiot. Rock on.

Hands down, the ABSOLUTE BEST BAND. They kept the party going the whole reception. Literally, our dance floor was packed from the first song till the last because no one wanted to miss a song. The band was very interactive with the crowd and overall they were just a fun group of guys!! We had a special request for my brothers to sing during the reception and they were quick to say yes and even volunteered to play the back up music. The band was flexible and professional from the start of the planning process till our final song. Craig was our main contact and he was wonderful at being prompt and maintaining good communication. I have followed the Brena Band for a couple of years as they have played around GR. My husband and I no longer live in GR, but will make special trips for the Brena Band. They have a couple of groupies for life. We feel so blessed to have had the band at our wedding. I promise, you won’t regret it!

Brena is the best! We hired them 4 years ago for our daughter ‘s wedding then again in August for our son’s and his partner’s wedding. We had heard them play at 2 other events and knew we would not settle for another band so the wedding dates were set around the band’s availability. They are a pleasure to work with - Friendly and accommodating. They know how to pack the dance floor from beginning to end. There’s no need to shop around for your wedding music-they are the best and we can’t thank them enough for making two memorable days extra special.

Brena Band is the best Wedding Band EVER! Ive been to other weddings with bands but these guys are on another level. So professional and they play such a wide variety of music. I only wish they could of stayed and played all night! We wouldn't have stopped dancing. They knew how to play the hora which is essential for a jewish wedding. Not every band has played at a jewish wedding. We couldn't be happier with them and hope to see them play again in the future.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! The Brena Band is INCREDIBLE and my wife and I could not be more satisfied with booking them to play our wedding. Throughout the entire night, the following morning, and into the days that followed, we repeatedly heard from guests from our wedding - of all ages and generations - expressing how amazing the band was. They took the experience to the next level and made sure that the wedding was a non-stop party. At one point I turned to my bride and said that this was like being at a concert; the band's level of energy was on fire! While I could stop there, I would be remiss if I did not comment on the band's communication from the minute we booked them, and their flexibility to adapt to MANY special requests that were certainly out of the ordinary. Specifically, we wanted to engage certain musically-talented family members during numerous parts of the event - they offered their keyboard for our family to use during the ceremony, for my brother to play guitar and lead vocals for our first dance (which required the band to learn a song not on their playlist), and for my uncle to fill in for keyboard and vocals during the traditional Jewish dance - the Horah. They were also able to roll with the punches too. When a communication error occurred and our MC (also a family member) was given the cue to introduce us before the band was ready, they snapped into high gear and turned a moment of frustration around (that had nothing to do with them) and essentially eliminated any potential awkwardness. Because of Brena, most of the guests didn't even realize that there was an error. And then from that moment it was a non-stop celebration. I will ALWAYS recommend Brena Band for any event in Western Michigan, and I hope I can see them again in the near future! My wife and I thank you for making the best day of our lives 100x more special!

Everyone could NOT stop talking about how amazing my band was. They were such a pleasure to work with. They were especially flexible a few days prior to the wedding when we had to move the location where they would set up. I did not give them many song requests but yet they played pretty much every song I could've ever wanted. The dance floor was full all night long. The string quartet during the ceremony was so beautiful as well. Highly recommend them!!! You will not regret it!

Brena came highly recommended and was easily one of the best decisions we made for our big day. We are still getting calls and compliments on how awesome they were. Not to mention Craig, the communicator for the group, was highly responsive and extremely helpful in terms of music choices not only for the reception but for our ceremony as well. We used Brena’s string trio at our ceremony which was beautiful, Craig played the piano during our cocktail hour and the full band for the reception. Absolutely incredible! I only hope to be at guest at a wedding that hires them so I can enjoy again!!!!!

Having Brena Band play our wedding was the BEST decision we could have made! They kept everyone on the dance floor having a blast the entire night. I love how they all played different instruments, which totally transformed each song. We used the string trio for our ceremony as well, and it was such a lovely touch. Steffan was our MC and couldn't have done a better job hyping up our guests. Craig was amazing to work with, and made the entire process easy and seamless. They even customized our dance songs to make it work better for us - sped up the tempo and cut a chorus out. I can't speak highly enough about Brena Band. We received SO many compliments on how amazing our wedding was, and Brena was a huge part in that. Thank you SO much, gentlemen! Same time next year for a repeat? :)

Brena played at our wedding ceremony and reception at Wildwood Family Farms and everything was amazing. They’re so fun and engaging with all the guests and the wedding party. I was somewhat clueless as to what music I wanted played at the ceremony, but Craig had the best recommendations. They even learned the Glasgow Love Theme song for the ceremony and our first dance song. All night our guests were asking how we found them and how awesome they all were. They are easy going and were communicative throughout the whole process. There is an incredible amount of talent in this band and every song sounded great. WOW! I don't even know where to begin with these guys. When we first heard them in Grand Rapids, we knew we had to do whatever we could to get them to come to our Mackinac Island wedding and I am SO glad we did! Craig was very responsive to all my emails and calls, reliable, laidback, and easy to work with. With all of the logistics for having a wedding on the island, he was always willing to help. We still have people telling us how this was the best wedding they have ever been to! I give a lot of credit to Brena for this. They played through our ceremony, jazz trio during cocktail hour, announced the wedding party, and help coordinate speeches. They even rehearsed (and were so kind) with my mom who sang a song during the reception! During the reception, we had all ages out on the dance floor all night long. From the time they started playing to the very end our guests did not sit down. This is exactly the reception I envisioned and they made it come true! The next day every one was RAVING about them and looking up their schedule to see them play again. Our other vendors were complimenting how great they were to work with throughout the day. Even the locals around our venue said they wanted to come join the party with the band! If your still on the search for music for your wedding, stop now because you have found them! A DJ could never top live music, let alone Brena, they are worth every penny to have your wedding be one no one will ever forget!

Craig was great to work with leading up to the day of; always super responsive and went above and beyond to answer questions. And did I say how fun they were? From "Shout" to "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" to "Stacy's Mom", they hit all the generations and got everyone moving. I had multiple people tell me at the wedding that they planned to have Brena play at theirs!

The BEST wedding band ever! We found Brena on the knot and were able to watch them live at a few shows. We loved them so much we booked them almost 2 years in advance. They know how to keep a dance floor packed! With live and seamless transitions between genres, there was really never a dull moment on the dance floor. They took the simple direction of "keep the party going and play to the crowd" and did just that! I loved how responsive Craig and team were, how much fun they had playing our wedding, and how much fun the guests had. We had no less than 10 people ask for their contact information in the days after the wedding because they had such a good time! Also, amazing job emceeing the reception! They took the time to go over the timeline with us, get phonetic pronunciations for the bridal party, and work with us on the perfect timeline flow. Honestly, our wedding would not have been remotely as fun as it was without Brena. I would recommend them 1000 times over to anyone. Genuinely nice people who had a great time doing what they love, and it showed!!

Brena played my sister-in-law's wedding a few years ago and I knew I needed them for my wedding one day. I booked them before I even had a date, venue, or budget. They were incredibly nice to work with and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with them and stress-free. Our wedding was this past weekend and Brena helped make it absolutely perfect. I hardly left the dance floor all night and neither did our guests. I had people come up to me the next day and say that they were the best wedding band they have ever heard, and I completely agree with them. I am a budget-minded bride and let me give you some advice: splurge a little for Brena. They are worth every penny. I couldn't imagine our reception without them.

Booking these guys for our wedding was the best decision we made. There is something about a live band that a DJ just can’t recreate. They keep the momentum going and we were on the dance floor from start to finish! We also had them play classical versions of some of our favorites for the ceremony. We had so many compliments about how wonderful they were and multiple friends that want to book them for their upcoming weddings. The easiest vendor to work with by far, so professional, I can’t say enough about how amazing these guys are! Do yourself a favor and book Brena, you won’t regret it.

The best wedding band. Truly the best. Easy to work with, kind, thoughtful, and flexible. They respond quickly to email, made planning incredibly easy on us, were willing to change the music plan even on the day of the event, and truly seemed invested in our happiness and making sure that everyone had fun at our wedding. And, above all that, they're incredibly talented musicians. They did strings for the ceremony, jazz for the cocktail hour, and the full 6-person amazing band for the party and never seemed to get tired, never faded, and performed incredibly well until the end of the night. All of the music was awesome. Even the songs that they learned for us were performed incredibly well. If they're available, you should book them now...there's no better option.

We couldn't recommend Brena more highly! They were wonderful to work with, kind and fun, and exceptionally talented musicians. We hired them for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception and they truly made our night. Every one of our guests was on the dance floor, singing and dancing - even my 84 year old grandmother. We love Brena and will never forget how memorable they made our wedding!

Brena was FANTASTIC! The bride and groom's wishes were to have the best party of the summer and Brena made that happen! We had a tent and dance floor specially built for the band, since that is where the party was going to be after dinner. Everyone moved from where the dinner was served to seating around the dance floor (seats were not used much since everyone was up dancing). We had Craig sing at the church ceremony. To show how accommodating they are, I actually texted Craig to add another song to the service at 7:00 the morning of the 2:00 wedding, no problem he replied back. We also had the jazz quartet for cocktail hour, and the band for the the main reception. What amazing talent they all have. People that were at the reception are still talking about the fun they had dancing to the best band they had ever heard. We also booked the venue around the availability of the band, it was the best decision we made! Our only wish was that they could have played longer than 11:00, but because of the sound ordinance around the lake, we couldn't:( Thanks again guys you made the reception a huge success.

Booking Brena was the absolute best wedding decision we made! They were so responsive and flexible and built a package around our wants and needs. What could've been the most complicated part of our day (the reception) was actually the easiest - Craig and Stephen took care of everything. Most importantly THEY. BROUGHT. THE. HOUSE. DOWN. People on the street and restaurant below were devastated that they couldn't come join our party. I can't say enough good things. Great people, fantastic musicians. The hubs and I might get married again just to rebook them. :)

Like many other reviews, we picked our wedding date around Brena being available and you should too! Almost no one left the reception because everyone was listening to the fantastic music and dancing. People were literally coming off the street asking who the band was. Craig has everything buttoned up leading up the big day, very easy to work with. I can't say it enough, Brena was the BEST decision made for our wedding, besides deciding to marry my wife of course. :0)
