erall they were just a fun group of guys!! We had a special request for my brothers to sing during the reception and they were quick to say yes and even volunteered to play the back up music. The band was flexible and professional from the start of the planning process till our final song. Craig was our main contact and he was wonderful at being prompt and maintaining good communication. I have followed the Brena Band for a couple of years as they have played around GR. My husband and I no longer live in GR, but will make special trips for the Brena Band. They have a couple of groupies for life. We feel so blessed to have had the band at our wedding. I promise, you won’t regret it!

They took the experience to the next level and made sure that the wedding was a non-stop party. At one point I turned to my bride and said that this was like being at a concert; the band's level of energy was on fire! While I could stop there, I would be remiss if I did not comment on the band's communication from the minute we booked them, and their flexibility to adapt to MANY special requests that were certainly out of the ordinary. Specifically, we wanted to engage certain musically-talented family members during numerous parts of the event - they offered their keyboard for our family to use during the ceremony, for my brother to play guitar and lead vocals for our first dance (which required the band to learn a song not on their playlist), and for my uncle to fill in for keyboard and vocals during the traditional Jewish dance - the Horah. They were also able to roll with the punches too. When a communication error occurred and our MC (also a family member) was given the cue to introduce us before the band was ready, they snapped into high gear and turned a moment of frustration around (that had nothing to do with them) and essentially eliminated any potential awkwardness. Because of Brena, most of the guests didn't even realize that there was an error. And then from that moment it was a non-stop celebration. I will ALWAYS recommend Brena Band for any event in Western Michigan, and I hope I can see them again in the near future! My wife and I thank you for making the best day of our lives 100x more special!

All night our guests were asking how we found them and how awesome they all were. They are easy going and were communicative throughout the whole process. They played through our ceremony, jazz trio during cocktail hour, announced the wedding party, and help coordinate speeches. They even rehearsed (and were so kind) with my mom who sang a song during the reception! During the reception, we had all ages out on the dance floor all night long. From the time they started playing to the very end our guests did not sit down. This is exactly the reception I envisioned and they made it come true! The next day every one was RAVING about them and looking up their schedule to see them play again. Our other vendors were complimenting how great they were to work with throughout the day. Even the locals around our venue said they wanted to come join the party with the band! If your still on the search for music for your wedding, stop now because you have found them! A DJ could never top live music, let alone Brena, they are worth every penny to have your wedding be one no one will ever forget!

They took the time to go over the timeline with us, get phonetic pronunciations for the bridal party, and work with us on the perfect timeline flow. They made my reception everything I ever imagined and more. Everyone raved about them all night long! They were so easy to work with as well. They were super responsive and made sure all the details were taken care of. I never had to worry about the details that night. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would- they were so awesome! To show how accommodating they are, I actually texted Craig to add another song to the service at 7:00 the morning of the 2:00 wedding, no problem he replied back. We also had the jazz quartet for cocktail hour, and the band for the the main reception. What amazing talent they all have. People that were at the reception are still talking about the fun they had dancing to the best band they had ever heard. We also booked the venue around the availability of the band, it was the best decision we made! Our only wish was that they could have played longer than 11:00, but because of the sound ordinance around the lake, we couldn't:( Thanks again guys you made the reception a huge success.

after talking to Craig on the phone the first time we knew Brena was the band for us! We had Brena play at our ceremony and cocktail hour as well - and we're so glad we did! He was always affable, and perhaps most incredible, I, as the groom, looked forward to a wedding preparatory conversation every time it was with him. Brena were flexible enough to learn songs I alerted them to mere days before the wedding, and they even learned a (reasonably corny) '50s tune the day of for me to dance with my mother. Oh, and for you future brides and grooms, you're welcome if they bust out "Our Time Is Running Out" at your wedding. Every person in the band is excellent at what they do, kind, and fun. The fact that they've done weddings several times before is abundantly clear, as the flow of songs, the candor from the band, and the atmosphere work perfectly. Let me reiterate. Hire these gents. You won't regret it for a second, and your wedding will be unforgettable.

We had an outdoor ceremony at Watermark Country Club July 8,2016 with the reception following inside. {Watermark Country Club was outstanding as well} It decided to rain right at the ceremony time. It rained on and off for over a half hour. Brena worked closely with the venue event coordinator being ready for anything. Well, the rain finally stopped and Brena set up outdoors so quick it was amazing. We had full confidence in their abilities and never worried about a thing! The outdoor sound system was by a waterfall but every guest said they were able to hear the whole ceremony loud and clear! So important to us as we said our own vows and wanted everyone to be able to hear. Everyone told us how much they loved the jazz trio during cocktail hour as well. The music played during the dinner hour was perfectly played as background music so guests could talk with each other and not over the music. Guests told us how nice that was to be able to have conversations during dinner. Once the reception started the dance floor was NEVER empty and most of the time was spilling over into the dining area. Impressive, as we ordered the largest dance floor available anticipating this to happen. No one wanted the night to end. Guests would come up to us all evening complimenting the band. All ages from the flower girl and ring bearer to grandparents were on the dance floor. Brena has something for everyone from all genres of music. Brena made this an amazing and memorable celebration for us and our guests! Thank you Brena!! Side note: Craig and Steffen were our "go to" persons and they were always quick to return emails and phone calls. Always professional and accommodating. We are so thrilled Brena plays at local venues so we can go and hear them again and relive our special day!!!

Our conversation was thorough and we talked about details like microphone placement for the ceremony, what instruments would be used for the jazz trio and how they'd introduce us as we walked in. Craig was accommodating and attentive to our special requests (songs during the send-off and collaborating with a special guest singer (Ellie Frances - outstanding voice!) for two numbers at the reception. Throughout our entire experience it was evident that this band really cared about us and using their talents to make our day magical. Craig even sent recordings beforehand of both the first dance and unity symbol songs they'd practiced, to ensure we were happy with the way they sounded. The day-of was spectacular. Brena's ceremony music was beautiful. Our guests can attest to the awesome jazz combo during cocktail hour and the reception...by far the one of the best choices we made in booking them! Everyone was dancing all night long. In fact, we had to move a few more tables and chairs out of the way to make more room for the dance floor. We can't count how many times family and friends asked where we found Brena. My uncle said he wants to book the band and he lives in NYC - they were THAT great! Our guests were dancing the entire night, and I have received a lot of compliments specifically about them. Do yourself a favor--if you are remotely close to Grand Rapids (ie in the state of Michigan) and you want to have a good time at your wedding-- this is your band.
