venue. He was so professional and set up the time to meet with us and share his beautiful work. We were immediately impressed and booked him! Then covid hit, and as with a lot of other folks during that time, our date ended up changing and Brett was super flexible in rescheduling to our new date. We finally got married in October 2021 and Brett captured our day so beautifully. His work truly speaks for itself, and I was so impressed with how he was able to beautifully capture the emotions and feelings from that day. Some of my favorite photos are the unposed "in the moment" shots! His eye for light is also spot on... as we drove around the golf course for our romantics, he pulled us off into spots the venue coordinator had never taken couples before, and the shots turned out amazing! In our gallery of 1000+ photos, there is not one bad photo in there, not one!! So if you've gotten this far into reading my review, all I can say is stop your search and hire Brett. He and his work are worth every penny and you will end up with gorgeous photos that you will cherish forever. 10/10 would recommend!

He does such an amazing job finding the perfect lighting and made us feel very relaxed and comfortable while taking pictures during our engagement session and both wedding ceremonies. photos. We loved that he gave us good direction without making us feel overly posed. We trusted him and it was for the best - he knows what he’s doing. He knew exactly how much time he would need for all the photos we wanted so our timeline ran perfectly. And of course the cherry on top is his lovely finished product. Each photo is perfectly edited to look light and airy without looking overdone. We really can’t recommend him enough!

had a smile. Our team LOVED him and couldn't appreciate what a team player he was (brides.. this is huge on your wedding day!). From there I of course waited for the photos... the real test. I was BLOWN away! They were gorgeous and he captured emotion, every gorgeous detail and they truly told the story of the couple. unds. The pictures he took are stunning. Brett has a photographer’s eye and truly enjoys capturing people’s connection. He has an easygoing personality and balances observation with direction. Brett offers guidance and suggests poses that feel and look natural. He is also open to ideas. Brett was a real pleasure to work with. The day of the wedding, we shot at two locations. Brett was solid and set a calm tone. We love our portrait shots from the Mission San Juan. Brett captured our ceremony at The Villa beautifully, and was especially wonderful with our families afterwards. He and his second shooter, Paul, worked wonderfully together with the videographer to document our big day. He even stayed late. We couldn’t be happier with our wedding photos. Thank you, Brett!

is that he knows exactly how to make you look great not only with lighting/exposure but also when it comes to positioning. He knows every angle your arm/wrist/chin/leg should be in and he will tell you exactly how to move - this is so helpful for those of us that aren't seasoned models. I had a different shoot in New Orleans where I live (because I won it at an auction) and to put it bluntly it really showed how amazing, skilled, trained and professional Brett was in comparison. You will not get the same direction from just anyone else. He is so enjoyable to work with and he'll know how to deal with your family no matter how crazy they might be, and on top of that he's super professional which I need, respect, and love. I would give him 10 stars if I could.

band and I were extremely nervous to photograph for the very first time in the 6 years of being together and that instantly went away with Brett. We were laughing and enjoying ourselves the whole time. We even went over our time frame by an hour and he insisted we kept shooting without any additional charges for his time. Our wedding couldn't have gone any better. The pictures were absolutely breathtaking. I made 4 sets of photo albums for all our parents and to this day, my family still expresses how amazing our photos look. We got married on September 30th, 2017 and even though its already been 6 months since our wedding, I wanted to make sure to still write this review. I will always refer Brett to anyone I come across looking for a amazing photographer. He is worth every dollar and more. Thanks again Brett!

All of his photos are gorgeous and he has a true talent of being able to capture the perfect shots. He is so professional, easy to get along with, and passionate about what he does. My husband absolutely hates being in front of the camera (he didn’t even want to do an engagement shoot because of it) and even he felt comfortable through both the engagement shoot and the day of our wedding! Both our engagement photos and wedding photos came out AMAZING! We have received so many compliments from friends and family about how gorgeous they all turned out! that we knew him. He said he didn't like to have us meet the first time on the wedding day. I never thought about that - the person capturing our intimate moments on our big day would meet us for the first time the day of the wedding. I really appreciated that! Brett's photography is artistry. I mean the pictures he took of us at The Villa and at San Juan Mission could be in magazines!! I told my husband, "we look like models in these pictures!!" And we are not photogenic people - the Talladega Nights "what do I do with my hands?" is totally us!! But Brett was great at giving direction and allowing my husband and I to just be us and then capturing those special moments. Brett is amazing at capturing the emotion of the day on camera, which is so special!! Brett Hickman Photographers will not disappoint!!

While my husband and I don't enjoy the way we look in pictures, we actually enjoyed looking through all of Brett's photos. Throughout the day, he efficiently set up shots and gave good direction for position placement without being pushy or impatient. In addition, during the wedding party photoshoot, he noticed that we were a bit parched from the day and fetched some waters for us which I found incredibly thoughtful. Taking pictures can be awkward, but Brett made the entire experience comfortable and enjoyable. Several bridesmaids and groomsmen came up to me after the wedding to tell me how impressed they were with his interactions with the wedding party as well as the other vendors. Brett did a great job working with the videographers to make sure each person was able to get the shots they needed. One of my favorite things about him was that he would come up and show us pictures he took which showed how passionate he is about his work. This made us trust his professional judgment and got us super excited the see the final product. Once we received all of the photos, we were blown away. There simply are no words that could adequately articulate how amazing his photos are. Every single picture contains a sort of warmth that captures our wedding day exactly as we remember it - perfect. THANK YOU BRETT!

impressed us so much was his ability to direct our big families, the whole bridal party, and little kids to get perfect shots in a timely fashion.
