After more than 15 years in the wedding industry as a videographer, I've learned that talent alone doesn't make someone great to work with. The best photographers combine creativit...
y, professionalism, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to serving their couples. That's exactly what you'll find with Brian MacStay Photography.
I've had the opportunity to work alongside Brian on multiple weddings, including a multi-day Indian wedding where you really get to see how vendors operate when schedules get hectic and the days get long. Brian consistently brought positive energy, stayed calm under pressure, and never lost sight of what mattered most—creating an incredible experience for the couple.
What I appreciate most is that Brian approaches weddings as a collaborator, not a competitor. He understands that when vendors work together, everyone wins—especially the bride and groom. As a videographer, that mindset is invaluable and honestly harder to find than most people realize.
His work speaks for itself. The images are polished, artistic, and timeless, blending the sophistication of an editorial shoot with the authenticity of real moments. He has a talent for making people look their best while still capturing the genuine emotions that make a wedding day unforgettable.
If I were recommending a photographer to a friend or family member, Brian MacStay Photography would be at the top of my list. You're not just hiring someone to take photos—you're investing in someone who cares deeply about his craft, his clients, and the story he's helping preserve.

eas and capturing moments that you’d never even think of.
As a fellow wedding vendor, I needed support with a wedding and boy, did he come to my rescue! Brian didn’t just show up to photograph a wedding in San Francisco,he showed up with heart, with soul, and with a level of dedication that truly moved me. The day before, he was shooting a wedding late into the night in San Jose. Most people would’ve called it a weekend. But not Brian. He woke up early, drove all the way to San Francisco, and showed up, not just for the couple, but for me, a friend who needed help.
Without hesitation, he stepped in and captured the kind of detail shots I could’ve only dreamed of. He saw things most photographers would walk right past. His vision, his instinct, his artistry—they’re rare. But even more rare is his heart and dedication to his photography.
I’ve worked with many photographers over the years. And while many are talented, few are as timeless, romantic, and soulful as Brian. His photos feel like they’ve always belonged in your life, like they were meant to be printed, framed, and passed down. He doesn’t just capture moments, he honor’s them.
What he did for me that day wasn’t just a favor. It was a gift. It reminded me why I love working in this industry with people who care this deeply. Brian, you are the definition of a professional, but even more, you’re an amazing human being.
If you’re reading this and looking for a photographer—stop. You’ve found him.
I truly can’t thank Brian enough, looking forward to working many more weddings in the near future!
Brian is a true professional. He did an outstanding job with our wedding photos, and he and his team were a joy to work with. We would certainly recommend him!
It's amazing to think Brian wasn't our original photographer. When the original vendor fell through, months before our date, we found Brian in a panic. He was so responsive and rea...
dily available to talk with us. He met us with humility and warmth, and made us feel like we would be taken care of. That is exactly what we got on the day - friendly, fun, and creative - we got our shot list as well as favorites inspired by the day and venue thanks to his eye and improvisation. Professional, skillful, with a style that adapts to the couple's goals and taste, we could not recommend Brian more!

ll designed by Frank Gehry in LA - and he rocked it. We love those photos. And for our wedding reception beyond doing a great job with all of the regular shot list, he had a great way of getting in the mix nonchalantly and capturing amazing candid moments - some of our favorite photos! (Our friends and family on the dance floor, laughing during the groom's speech, etc). Thank you Brian for capturing both so well!
Can I do 10 stars?
I met Brian at a wedding fair and was immediately drawn in by the beauty of his photos. There was no question; I had to book him (and my now husband agreed)! I ...
had never before seen this level of quality and attention to detail - he really captures the moments. Looking through my wedding day photos, he captured so many wonderful memories. All of my friends and family have commented on how beautiful all of the pictures came out. He is also efficient! My husband and I both have big families (think 25+ people), and he was able to do family shots within minutes… and the pictures turned out incredible!
In addition to being incredible at taking photographs, he is professional, easy to work with, and responsive, all of which were very important to me. If you are looking to have amazing photos on your wedding day, look no further! I highly recommend Brian!
I can not say enough amazing things about Brian. Our wedding photos are slowly filtering in and they are nothing short of amazing. During the wedding, he was showing us a few back ...

He is easy to work with, made us feel like family and did not fall to deliver. Would absolutely recommend him!
