Not only did they share their photography with us, they shared their kindness and compassion. So much so that our guests were shocked to find out that we hadn’t known them as friends for years. We were looking for someone who takes amazing color and black and white shots, someone who finds eclectic/natural/spontaneous beauty, and someone who prioritizes moments, specifically with laughter- and we found that and more with Briana. From our first conversation, she made us feel comfortable. Then we got to work with her and Andrew, and boy oh boy was even better than we could have imagined. They did an incredible job at both our engagement shoot and our wedding. We were very serious about socially-distancing, and creating a memory that kept our loved ones safe, and they helped us deliver that vision. It was a race to the finish to replan a pandemic wedding, and Briana and Andrew rolled with everything, and honestly embraced it with us! Heck yeah picnic! Yard flamingos? Why not?! Two locations? Sure. Not only did Garrett and I feel comfortable just being ourselves with Briana and Andrew, but they encouraged it. They responded to every moment with grace and a ready camera. Generously, Briana included an engagement shoot with the package as well as complimentary gifts and prints before and even after the wedding. And despite being based in Portland, she made the roughly 3 hour trip up to Seattle for our engagement shoot and wedding. Throughout the process, we were constantly impressed by her professionalism and responsiveness. At the start, Briana clearly outlined a roadmap for the months and days leading up to the wedding. And despite how hectic the day of our wedding was, Briana kindly kept us on track while photographing us and our families in various locations around Seattle. As romanticized as weddings are, they are large, expensive events more similar to the execution of a project deliverable. We wanted a professional with an artistic flair. Not an artist with some professional skills. Art: My partner wanted an artistic and unique touch. Briana introduced some film photography that was incredible. The polaroids were fun and the film photography was groovy. Yes. Groovy. Attitude: I was constantly impressed by Briana’s positive attitude, which helped us stay on course. Even through COVID, as things were becoming delayed and even cancelled, she brought a positive attitude that kept things fun and optimistic. At times, I felt like she was more excited about our wedding than us. At times, she was. I did not find the wedding planning process to be a fun experience. Working with Briana made it an efficient experience. She allowed us to focus on our priorities, including each other. I would recommend Briana in a heartbeat.

sy to do. Briana was very comfortable to talk to and put us at ease right away, and we never felt judged for the unconventional or non-traditional aspects of our wedding or personal story. Making one bride happy and calm is hard to do, but catering to two brides and making them both feel special, takes talent! She was experienced in shooting an LGBT+ wedding, and loved that we chose to have a pagan style handfasting ceremony. She helped us with details of our wedding timeline and gave us some suggestions to make a few things easier on us. She tailored a photography package for us that included all the important things we wanted and fit within our budget. Once we arrived in Portland, she met with us and our wedding planner in person and worked out all the details, which really made us feel like we were in good hands. The day of, with the help of her amazing husband Andrew, they got familiar with the venue and coordinated with our videographer on getting all the amazing shots we asked for. Briana was everywhere during the wedding, capturing the magical moments in our ceremony, the wonderful energy of our guests during the reception, and catching some beautiful and natural portraits of us with family and friends. Our bride/bride photoshoot overlooking the Columbia River Gorge was breathtaking and we can’t wait to have so many of these photos displayed in our home for years to come. We have recommended Briana to some of our friends, and hope to work with her again in the future when we return to Oregon.

d an engagement shoot with her first and she made us feel soooo comfortable. I was really nervous and feel pretty awkward in front of a camera and by the end I felt like a professional model. I was so glad we practiced because on the day of the wedding we felt like Briana was an old friend—although we probably would have felt that way anyway ;) During the ceremony we literally never noticed her or her husband (who we hired as the second photographer) but then got such incredible photos. Throughout the day they were so professional and blended into the crowd, popping up every once in awhile to gently guide us to take certain photos we wanted or make sure we were on track. They were so fun and easy to work with and made us laugh so many times. The photos are absolutely incredible. We get so many compliments on them. They captured some of the most memorable moments of the wedding but also so many unexpected moments and beautiful details of the decor and the venue. And the whole process was so professional—she included so many thoughtful touches like sending us little goodie boxes along the way. Sooo glad we hired Briana. It was a wedding decision done right!!

But something I appreciate more and more looking back that sets her apart is that Bria’s photos are also very honest — they really captured the “feeling” of that day for us. Through her photojournalistic lens, many intimate tears, smiles, spontaneous reactions and interactions were beautifully captured because we had a present, attentive photographer - shots that might easily have gotten missed by someone else in a rush to snap exclusively “pretty” shots. I have since attended weddings where the photographer took up a lot of space, barked at people to get the ideal shot, never stopped taking flash photos on the dance floor, or otherwise changed the dynamic of how loved ones interacted. Bria’s easeful and unobtrusive presence yet warmth and charisma meant our wedding party and guests felt at ease to engage their experience authentically. This balance showed up in the many emotional, natural, quirky, and artistic photos of our loved ones that I treasure to this day — in addition, of course, to the tons of classic, breathtaking shots she captured with sheer talent and sharp eye for great backdrops, form, and light. Throughout the nerves of the big day and inevitable small hitches, Bria’s presence was reassuring, confident and kind. I was amazed by the fullness of life her photographs captured when I think about how she never once felt obtrusive to the magical chaos of that day.
