I booked an appointment with Bridal affections to try wedding dresses. It was my first time trying on the dresses. It was an exclusive appointment which made it very comfortable to...
look around and try different styles. They have such an amazing collection. Mel was super nice, encouraging me to try everything and helpful in figuring out what I like. It was a calm and peaceful experience. I highly recommend this to all brides.
Absolutely recommend! My visit to Bridal Affection was my second time trying on wedding dresses. I did not think I was going to find anything and thought it would be an appointment...
to try on dresses to help narrow down the style of dress I would like.
Fast forward, I said "yes" to the dress! I highly recommend Bridal Affection! I had a wonderful experience. Clearly, they surpassed all of my expectations since I walked out with a dress.
First, the staff was incredibly kind and so patient while I tried on dresses. I probably tried on about 12 different dresses, retrying on a handful for my final decision-making. They were supportive and kindly kept me focused when my mom was being a little difficult on Facetime as we went through the final dresses. (They could tell I was getting annoyed with mom's lack of focus and helpfulness.) I went during a huge sample sale, and they had so many beautiful options. (My dress was only $500 for a designer gown!) The selection was amazing, and there are multiple dresses I would have been happy with, but, of course, I found the one I loved the most. I can only imagine what the selection would be like if I wasn't only looking at samples that day!
Mel is amazing. I caught up with her months after I purchased my dress, and she remembered me, my family, and the exact dress I purchased, which I think speaks so much to her as a store owner! I also learned that Mel and her husband own both Bridal Affection in Hamden and Bridal Trousseau in New Haven. I only got to experience Bridal Affection, but I imagine Bridal Trousseau would be a similar experience if you're looking! I cannot recommend Bridal Affection enough!
I was very adamant about wanting to find a dress that I could try on in person--I did not want an online shopping experience for my wedding dress. I knew it would be hard with my budget, but I am in love with my dress and absolutely loved my experience at Bridal Affection!
At my first visit I brought my future sister-in-law and we found 2 amazing--and very opposite--dresses. Two weeks later, I brought my mom back, we re-tried one I had tried the prev...
ious visit and *the feeling* (that I was sure I wouldn't feel since I worked in bridal before and have worn HUNDREDS of dresses) FINALLY HIT ME. I said yes to the most elegant maggie sottero dress (my FAVORITE designer) that felt authentically me. I'm getting married at 36, and so many dresses lately feel too youthful. So happy we found this sophisticated gown. Ava and Mel were so sweet and supportive. I'm an indecisive person and I felt supported and encouraged to try different things. Would ABSOLUTELY recommend Bridal Affection to any brides-to-be. Thanks again ladies!
Bridal Affection went above and beyond for me in my search for dresses, provided more understanding and kindness than any other vendor I looked at in CT, and I ended up finding my ...
dream dress after three appointments with them. Ava was an amazing stylist, and the team all made me and my family feel included and supported during this stressful process. They are size inclusive and have so many unique dresses that nowhere else had. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone looking for a wedding dress!

ops! They made me and my mother feel welcomed, comfortable, and special. We had an excellent time there. All the staff are very familiar with the designers, styles, and materials. Also, what is available because I needed to get my dress a couple of months before my wedding, and they were accommodating in helping me find my dress. Thanks, Yvonne. Also, the staff went above and beyond with cleaning my dress so I could wear it a second time! I could not say anything bad, they are truly a one-of-a-kind place, and I would recommend it to anyone getting married! Especially thanks to Kelly and Ide, you two are exquisite! I can't thank them enough for making me feel beautiful for my wedding day!

had my eye on a dress for years and sadly it was discontinued. I found a sample dress at Bridal Affection. I drove from out of state to try on the dress, along with many other beautiful dresses. I ended up cancelling a second appointment that I had that day and saying YES to the dress at Bridal Affection. Highly recommend Bridal Affection!

ly personable and did not pressure me in any way. I picked several dresses and ended up falling in love with a dress that Samantha picked out after reviewing my inspiration and getting a feel of my personality.
Mel and Samantha were able to open another appointment for me the next day so I could sleep on my options. It should be noted that prior to my visit at the boutique I was feeling stressed and defeated after trying on several other dresses at another location and not loving a single one.
After deciding I was completely obsessed with the gown they offered to customize the dress even more to make it completely the “one”. I had an impeccable experience and I could not recommend this business more.
These women clearly know what they are doing and they have the professionalism to back it. I’m looking forward to continuing my wedding journey with them.

I cannot say enough good things about Bridal Affection and especially Mel! My experience there was everything I had hoped dress shopping would be. This was my first and only dress ...
shopping stop. We scheduled a Bride n Bubbly appointment and my guests really enjoyed themselves as well. We were greeted at the door by Mel when we got there and as we walked in there were signs everywhere saying welcome with my name on it. She really put a LOT of time and effort into making this appointment so special for me and my guests. Mel was very attentive, patient, and she really listened to what I liked and didn’t like and it was clear to me she is very experienced in what she does and also really enjoys it. She was careful not to let me try on dresses over my budget, and she knew exactly where specific dresses in her shop were that I wanted to try on. My appointment even went slightly over the booked appointment time and she still let me try on a few more dresses and we didn’t feel rushed to finish our appointment. Mel was not pushy at all like some salespeople can be and that really took so much pressure off and made the experience all around even more enjoyable. I found my dress and it was exactly what I had dreamed of. Bridal Affection should be your #1 stop when you are dress shopping. The variety, price points, service, atmosphere, etc are top tier. I highly recommend Bridal Affection!

lp me find my perfect gown!
Bridal affection has an array of BEAUTIFUL bridal gowns both in their flagship and sample stores. I was allowed the opportunity to try on as many dresses as my heart desired - I even tried on the same dress 3 times in one appointment. In addition, walked around in the gown and even tried it on with a veil.
I said yes to the boutique, yes to the service, yes to the amazing vibe and YESSSSS to the dress!
PS - it’s woman owned and black owned…a huge plus for me!
