like to share the entire story for context. You booked with us March 26 2021. Once you signed the contract I reserved your artists for your September wedding. I sent over our contract for you to review and sign which you did with no questions or discussions about our policies. To clear up any confusion our policy states that once you sign the contract if you cancel up to 30 days from your wedding 50% is due. If you cancel within 30 days of your wedding you owe the entire balance. You initialed this policy next to it and never mentioned any apprehension. July 11th you came in for your trial. Both artists sent photos and you looked phenomenal. Out of respect for you, I will not share these as you mentioned that they took pictures with our permission. Both artists state this was not the case and you are smiling for the camera in all of them. July 26th you emailed that this “ I know the woman I was paired with was trying to do an amazing job which she did however I know I will be much happier as the bride doing my own makeup. I’ve been doing my own and my friends for many years. “ These are your words verbatim. You made no mention of your hair. My reply to you was “I appreciate the feedback. While I think you looked gorgeous I understand that for clients who are highly skilled in makeup it is difficult to adjust to a different style.   I would be glad to remove one of the makeup applications” These were my exact words. I heard nothing back from you until August 5th where you informed me you would like to cancel outright. I reiterated our policies on cancellation. You expressed “If I knew all these fees and nonsense I would have never gone with you.” All of our policies our laid out in our contract to which you initially each policy, and then signed. There was nothing shady or unfair. These are industry standards practices. Your then fiancé called the next day to talk about your concerns. He stated that I “basically called you stupid” because I stated that it is the clients responsibility to thoroughly read through and understand the contract before signing. I told him I had never nor would never speak to clients like that. At that point I explained if our conversation was to continue In this manner we could communicate through my attorney. He apologized and agreed to keep it professional. I explained that I had to follow my contract, specifically because this policy is in place for this exact reason. He stated that he understood, he was just hoping I would cut you a break because weddings are expensive. I was more than willing to void the contract in the event that I could book my artists who held this date for you for months. I posted multiple times on our social platforms. Unfortunately because of the short notice I wasn’t able to. We do not require trials prior to signing because many of our brides don’t actually have a trial. We understand that some brides want a trial before signing, you did not request this. We leave it up to the bride to decide what is best for them as everyone has different preferences. Ultimately I am glad to hear you found somebody who you were comfortable working with. Our goal is always to make sure our brides feel their very best and are comfortable with their beauty team!
