This phone call began a 6 month ...
journey of establishing a client-customer relationship with Angelita and Rafaela. They were there every step of the way interacting back and forth with me and the representative for the Nicole Milano line, for which they are an exclusive retailer in San Antonio. Not to brag but it must be said so the full effect of this shops dedication is understood, my dress and veil are one of a kind, custom fitted to my body and designed to my specifications. The dress and veil are now named “Celeste” after myself and will not ever be reproduced the exact same way. What else can a bride dream of?
Their dedication to their clients was so visible that I trusted them and order my wedding dress off a sketch and waited 6 months for it. Once I tried it on I realized it was definitely the dress for which I had been waiting.
I then hosted my bridesmaid proposal at Bridal Connection, where Angelita and Ralf had a bunch of bridesmaids dresses ready for them to try on. All my bridesmaids wore different styles of Mori Lee dresses, there’s a stigma that bridesmaids usually hate their dress but mine ALL LOVED their dress.
The entire Bridal Connection staff attended my wedding, Angelita arrived early (to my great fortune) and helped me get dressed for my wedding dress, was there after the ceremony to bustle my dress and even help me use the restroom. These ladies are the real deal. They love their customers, their brides, their bridesmaids and all of the employees LOVE working there.
Bridal Connection is where I’ll send every woman who asks me where to shop for the wedding dresses and bridesmaids dresses.

With this in mind I changed my appointment to the private booking which the lovely ladies here were so nice about me changing the appointment last minute. Getting there they showed us the room we would have and told us we could set up our food and drinks. Following that they pulled me aside and asked me what exactly I was looking for in a dress. When I explained my vision and the wedding theme they completely understood the assignment. They brought out all the dresses that were tailored to my body type while still keeping my theme in mind. When we put on my dress that I went with not only did my family and friends get emotional but Angelita and Valerie did too. Everyone just knew. It was such a beautiful moment and I'm glad I got to share it with not only my family and friends but Angelita and Valerie as well. fter about 3-4 dresses that I just didn't like one thing or another, the consultant asked if she could pull something that came to mind and that was it! I absolutely fell in love with the dress and ordered it that day! It came in the time frame they told me it would, and I had several alterations appts with one of the seamstresses there. Each time I went to the store the staff was so welcoming and pleasant to work with. Two weeks before my wedding I went into the shop on a whim for a veil. Here is my story:
I had previously purchased a dress from another bridal store and had some alterations done at that same bridal store. The alterations were more than just subpar. My dress was completely botched. The alterations ladies there downplayed their horrible mistakes and made it seem like nothing wrong was done. I left the store in tears because of how awful it looked. I even told them I would have to find another dress. I only had a month before my wedding and I never even received a call from the manager to apologize and try to remedy the situation. I was so upset I even showed my fiancé the dress and ruined the surprise just to make sure I wasn’t going crazy. He agreed that the dress was unacceptable and wanted a complete refund. I paid $2,000 in alterations and spent around $8,000 for the dress and veil. I felt completely taken advantage of but I didn’t want to take any legal action and cause even more stress before our wedding. I didn’t think anyone could fix my disaster of a dress so I started looking around for another one. Bridal Connection was my last stop after visiting five other bridal shops. The ladies there were so nice and welcoming. I tried on a few of their beautiful dresses but nothing was quite like the original dress I picked. I showed Angelita, the store manager, my dress and she understood my frustration and sympathized with me. After I explained my horrible experience, she kindly and generously offered to have Nazzy, her alterations specialist, take a look at my dress and see what could be done. The next day I came in and Nazzy was able to asses the damage and come up with a solution. She told me “your dress doesn’t need alterations, it needs plastic surgery!” She also gave me some wise advice that made me feel more at ease. She said to not worry about what had already been done because she didn’t want me to bring that negativity into my marriage. She was going to make it right no matter how much work it was going to take. Nazzy and Angelita gave me so much hope and relief by assuring me that my dress would be fixed. A few alterations appointments later and my dress was not only fixed but a work of art! I felt so beautiful and confident! My situation was truly a blessing in disguise because if it weren’t for my horrible experience I would never have had the pleasure of meeting and working with these wonderful ladies. I will forever be grateful for their kindness and exceptional service.

Store manger did not have a warm welcome but instead said go wash your hands and show me what dresses you are interested. I was bothered by that because I was being rushed and couldn’t take the time to set up my snacks. I asked her if there were anymore dresses I could try with the halter neck. She only brought me one to try and I really liked it so wanted to try some more. She then said we don’t have any dresses in your size. I was shocked because store advertised that they carry dresses for curvy women. She said she had one dress and it was a 12 and she would have to just pin it on me. Well I was able to actually put dress on. Manger then said she was surprised I could fit dress and said I guess it’s because you have a small waist. I was in love with the dress after all. As my appointment time was ending she started asking my cousin if she did modeling and would she model for them. That was so unprofessional because she did not finish with me, I was waiting patiently to ask questions regarding price, shipping time, etc and manger was busy now talking to one of my friends to schedule to come model with them. You should always take care of your customers first then handle your side business later. I was going to buy dress but just felt horrible how I was treated so my fiancé said go to another bridal salon. Bad customer service and not friendly for curvy brides

I do apologize that you feel that I failed you and I deeply apologize for that but I want to clarify a few things. Your private appointment was at 4pm but we were wrapping up with the last bride. I never asked you to wait outside, I ...
asked you if you would give us 5 minutes to get her out of the dress and disinfect the area. We have a large seating area in the lobby but you chose to wait outside. When I saw you were still outside, I asked you to come in at 4:05pm and again, I apologize your appointment did not start right at 4pm but your health and safety is our top priority and we needed time to clean and disinfect. We moved a bench for you to put your snacks and props on and you set everything up before I took you to wash your hands, again for your safety and ours. We always ask all of our brides to show us photos of their vision because it's easier to show us photos so we know exactly what you are looking for. After you tried on several dresses and you figured out that you really liked the halter style dress, I did tell you I did not have another halter dress in your size and we actually only have 4 aline halter dresses in the boutique. We have a lot of dresses in your size and we carry sizes 0 through 32 so we are definitely curvy friendly in our boutique so I apologize that I gave you the impression that we did not have any dresses in your size. I apologize, we simply do not have a large selection of halter aline dresses in the boutique. When I explained that I had a halter dress I thought you would like but it was not in your size you asked me if I would have to pin it on you. I explained that we could put it on but it would not close but I was sure you would be able to see how it looked. I was pleasantly surprised that even though it didn't close it looked great because so often when the dress is not the right size, the bride struggles to imagine it fitting properly. I also complimented your small waist and I apologize if it sounded like anything negative. Regarding asking your friend if she would like to model, you have every right to be upset about that. I should have waited to ask her so I do own up to that so I deeply apologize. I did wait and spoke to her later in great detail after you left. Of course during the appointment and while you were wearing the dress, I had already provided you with the price and shipping time. You even liked the price and dress so much that you got your daughter on a video chat so she could see you since she could not get off work on time to make your appointment. We even discussed that your dress would be here about 2 months before your wedding and you scheduled an appointment to come back Wednesday after you got off work to show your daughter in person. Overall, our goal is to provide the best experience possible and I deeply regret that is not how you felt. We want you to have your dream gown, even if it's not with us and we are happy you found it. You will be a beautiful bride.

She let me know that based on the information I had given them when I scheduled my appointment, they had already pulled some options but that I could try on anything I wanted. I wanted two different dresses but after trying on quite a few amazing dresses in my size that actually fit I felt like a bride and that my consultant actually cared about me so I let my walls down. She talked to me like we were old friends catching up and asked me questions about my wedding. I tried to tell her about the horrible experience I just had but she asked me to just take a breath and let that bad experience go and didn't say anything negative about the other shop and just focused on me. Did I find the dress I was looking for? Yes, absolutely. I purchased a beautiful Nicole gown that was imported from Italy and I truly love it and can not wait to wear it on my wedding day. However, I am just disappointed in the customer service. My dress fits a very particular body type - and the seamstress was altering the dress in a way that completely changed the look of the gown (I have large, muscular thighs and it's supposed to be mermaid style, however, she kept wanting to bring out the seam of the sides). I had requested that Angelita be there on the day of my second fitting to tell the seamstress that the gown was not meant to be altered that way, and she agreed. I arrive for my second fitting, and Angelita was not there. The seamstress is extremely sweet but there is a language barrier, and when your brides are paying $2000, I would hope that you could be there for them.

When I arrived for the second time, Angelita spent a little over 3 hours with me, pulling dresses that were the style I liked and even different ones. She picked up right away on things that I didn’t even realize I liked like color and type of design. At the very end, Angelita went through the store dresses once more and found THE DRESS that I absolutely loved.
Neither Maxie or Angelita made me feel rushed or obligated to purchase anything. Other boutiques may have cute setups but Bridal Connection truly had sooooo many options and styles for any bride to choose from. And their service is amazing. You are always their top priority.

e the sleeves were short but I was told that with alterations, I would have long sleeves that matched well. I trusted Angelita's recommendation that with alterations the long sleeves would look flawless as if they belonged and that the back of the dress would have a removable panel to wear during the ceremony. I had to order lace appliques and material from the company, so we did. I was told these lace appliques would be the same lace as the existing sleeves to make it look seamless...
Fast forward a few months, I went to alterations and Jenny, the seamstress, was going to do everything in pieces. First, we had the hem and waist altered. I was reassured again that the sleeves would look good.
A few weeks after, the sleeves are being made and I have an appointment to see them before the sleeves are sewned on. It looked HIDEOUS. There was no way I was going to wear that dress down the aisle. The lace appliques did not match AT ALL. The lace was actually the same lace as the hem and very different from the lace on the top of the dress. Bridal Connection was at fault because they ordered the lace from the dress company. They should've known to order the exact lace that matched the top of the dress. Instead of taking responsibility, I was told the lace was supposed to be cut up in little pieces and that was why it wasn't matching. This was a little over a month until my wedding day... A week later, the seamstress couldn't make the back panel because the fabric that ANGELITA ordered herself, was not stretchy or giving at all and therefore, not meant to be put in that location. This was all Angelitas fault. She was the one who told me the sleeves would match perfectly when she was not the seamstress that was going to be doing the work and she ordered the wrong lace.
I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to shop here. The store appearance is subpar and there is no customer service when something goes wrong even if it is their own fault.

s Rebecca Ingram by Maggie Sottero). The selection of gowns is affordable, with many options under $1000. One thing I do wish this shop did differently is offer in-house alterations. They work with an independent seamstress who they recommend, but unfortunately I did not have a good experience with her. For example, the bust of my dress was WAY too big and she kept telling me to buy stick-on cups, when what really needed to happen was taking the bust in and sewing in cups. I walked away from my first fitting feeling so upset and defeated. Ultimately, I made the decision to get my alterations done elsewhere, where I had to pay almost the cost of my dress since I had bought my dress elsewhere. To be fair, Bridal Connection was up-front about the fact that they do not provide alterations in-house, but I think making that change could take an already great shop to being the best in town!
I honestly had a terrible experience myself. Maybe another bride to be will have a better experience. But for now, I'd say I wouldn't recommend ordering your dress from this bridal store.

My only knock on points is because there seemed to be a huge lack in communication at the shop. First, when I went in for my alterations (first fitting), the Asian woman doing them yelled at me for being late to our appointment. I had set a 4:30 appointment, got there at 4:36, and she yelled at me because she thought I was her 4:00 appointment who apparently never showed up. I made sure to set a 5:00 appointment for my second fitting and got there 10 minutes early so there wouldn't be any confusion. Second, When my fittings were over and it was time to pay, she said no one had ever told her about my 50% off alterations and that they can't do that because she is a contracted worker... So I had to get that settled. Third was my veil. They showed me two different veils, one with Swarovski crystals lining the veil, and the same veil with the crystals scattered sporadically throughout the veil but without the lining. I told her I wanted the lining as well as the scattered ones. She repeated what I had said and sent in the order for it to be made. When I got the veil in, it only had the lining crystals and not the scattered ones. My husband's cousin had to fix it for me and add in the crystals. That was my last visit with them and I left fairly disappointed because I had made it very clear what I wanted and she clearly understood but it wasn't relayed to the guy making my veil. All in all, I was pleased but it could have gone better had everyone in the store been on the same page.

At my initial appointment my consultant was super friendly and willing to help me find the dress of my dreams. She was excited to have me try on (and retry) as many dresses as I wanted, even though they had a packed store. Further, I purchased my dress during a Mori Lee trunk sale so I received 20% off the dress, it ended up being about $850 with tax and shipping.
Not only was picking out the dress a positive experience, but they also have a WONDERFUL seamstresses in house. I'm not sure how inflated their prices are (I spent about $250 in alterations), but Sissy and Jenny did WONDERS with my dress. They fitted the dress completely to my body and also came up with unique adjustments so all of the details (like the sash, and appliques) looked absolutely perfect. Best of all, it was always a 2 week turnaround on the alterations (I had it altered on two different occasions). Finally, after all was said and done, I came away with a beautiful pristine dress and I cannot wait to wear it at my wedding!
I think the best part of this shop, though, is the atmosphere. Every time I went to the shop (about 5 times within a year) everyone was super nice, helpful, and complimentary; I have never had so many people tell me I look beautiful, stunning, glamorous in one sitting! I always left feeling happy and excited about getting married

We want to offer our brides the very best and even go to Rome, Italy every year to attend the Nicole Milano fashion show and dinner gala, then hand select the gowns we bring back for our brides. Customer service and taking care of our brides and their entire bridal party is our number one priority.
