ing. She was my hired makeup and hair artist. So on the day of my wedding when its supposed to be a calm time, unfortunately I had to scramble to go and grab pins from my aunts home. 2. She let me know she would bring fresh flowers for my hair on my wedding day, she also forgot those on the day of my wedding. 3. She placed my small/medium tikka on my head, but unfortunately she did not secure it in a manner that a professional would. On my actual wedding day, when I was bending down to matha tek, my tikka popped off— which was very embarrassing. 4. She was confused about where we were meeting on the day of my jaggo and for some reason thought that I would be coming to her in Livermore, even though my event was in Merced and we had already discussed that she would be coming to Merced. She was able to make arrangements to come to Merced, but it added additional stress. The redeeming quality about her work is that she is able to work well on brown south asian skin, her skin makeup was soft and dewy (though my eyes were smudged before I even got to my ceremony…which is not normal for me). I am a person that really cares about skin with makeup so against my better judgment, I decided to hire her for myself and my mother for my brother’s engagement. This was booked months in advance. Fast forward to May 2026, I get a call from Raman less than 24 hours before the booking. She tells me that her MIL is not well so she won’t be able to make it. Then she says she does have a “senior“ artist who can replace her. I tell her I’m sorry to hear about the situation with her mother-in-law, I ask her who the senior artist is. She says her name is Jassi…. I asked her what her last name is and Raman said she didn’t know. 😂 I asked if she has an Instagram and then she also said she does not have an IG or anywhere that I could see her portfolio. I told her I needed some time to think about it and Raman sent me some pictures that she claimed to be Jassi with no last name’s work. (It gets worse) At so late in the game, I was already handling so many logistics for my brother’s ceremony. I asked Raman to give me until 5 to get back to her. She obliged, though she was putting pressure on me stating that “Jassi” wanted to confirm ASAP because she was considering another client.  I asked Raman to give me Jassi’s contact information, and Raman said that it was too late because Jesse has already booked with another client due to “Jassi” not feeling comfortable because I didnt “trust her.” All screenshots are attached. this happened within a matter of 20 minutes, so it’s safe to say this is suspicious at best and a blatant lie at worst. Raman’s contract states that she will provide a “senior” makeup artist in her absence, she was even able to follow through on that. I took a look at Raman’s social media, and I found what happened in reality is that Raman ACTUALLY booked a bride on the day of my event. Her MIL was not ill, Raman actually just wanted to go with the booking that had more pay.  I have attached the screenshots below, multiple vendors also posted her working with the client on the day of my brother’s engagement. That being said, I would be weary of this vendor. She is unprofessional and a liar, and no level of artistry can redeem that.

g morning. The biggest issue was the complete lack of transparency around outsourcing. I was never clearly told that different hairstylists—who I had never met—would be handling my hair on the wedding day. This made the trial with Raman essentially useless, since it did not reflect who would actually be doing my hair. As a result, everything felt rushed and uncertain on the morning of the wedding, and I ended up disliking my reception hairstyle altogether.  On the wedding day, the schedule was changed the night before from 6:00 AM to 5:30 AM, adding unnecessary stress. When we arrived at 5:30 AM, we were met by a hairstylist I had never met before who seemed unprepared and unfamiliar with both my preferences and the setup. The space itself was not ready for clients, which added to the sense of disorganization and made an already stressful morning worse. The initial hairstyle was not good and had to be redone later, which caused delays. Raman herself arrived late at 6:30 AM from another wedding, further adding to the time pressure. For the reception, yet another different hairstylist was assigned. I asked for loose waves but was given tight curls instead, and it took multiple attempts to get something acceptable. The process felt rushed, and the final result was still not what I had envisioned. Nobody who did my hair had ever seen me or my hair before, despite my paying $795 for a trial.  There were also multiple issues with unclear and inconsistent pricing. I was quoted $225 for my mom’s makeup, but was not told that it would be done by another artist at an additional $200 cost.  Overall, the experience lacked professionalism, transparency, and consistency. The outsourcing of key services without clear communication made the trial ineffective and the wedding day unnecessarily stressful. I would not recommend this service to any bride looking for reliability and peace of mind.

unsure with how to have my hair styled, she was able to suggest and execute the perfect hairstyle that lasted all day. I enjoy working with her and appreciate how she only uses the best products and is highly trained. She did both my makeup and my mom's makeup. My mom was happy to have her natural beauty accented and did not look cakey or overdone. Raman is timely, professional, and simply the best. If you don't hire her for her makeup and hair services, you are doing yourself a disservice. I can't thank her enough for how well she brought out the features I liked and made me feel so seen and heard during the whole process. It's Raman or no one for me!

One major thing to keep in mind though, is she showed up late to all the events, which cut into our photo time and delayed the shuttle. Definitely verify if she has other bride’s scheduled on the same day. She had four brides on our day.

As most weddings are, it was utter chaos in my house on the morning of the wedding, but Raman worked with utmost professionalism and friendliness. She didn’t shy away from trying some things she thought would look good and I am glad she did, because the trial makeup itself came out amazing!!! She even shared her blog details on good skin care and had really good recommendations on the skin care products to use. There was no doubt I was gonna have her for my wedding!! Moving onto our pre-wedding shoot, we initially didn’t have a shoot planned. But Raman took me in the last minute. Suffice to say, the hair and make up turned out gorgeous. I had three outfit change which ranged from Indian traditional to western formal to casual. The Hair and make up looked great on all the outfits. And finally for the wedding day. It was an early morning wedding and Raman started my makeup at 4 AM. She was right on time and immediately got to work. She was so full on energy at 4 AM. I had my guests doing makeup and hair with her team as well. All of her team arrived promptly even before my guests were ready and they waited patiently. All my guests loved working with her team. Their actual feedback was, “It was like they were part of the event. They wanted to give us a good look. It wasn’t like we were interacting with a bot. They listened to us and did not rush with anybody. It was really great working with them”. Raman did my (bride’s) makeup and hair and the groom’s makeup. She gave me the ultimate look. I had an outfit change for the wedding and she gave me a look which went on both of my outfits. Everybody absolutely loved my look and gave me a lot of compliments. Even though I was so distracted during the makeup and kept moving a lot, Raman didn’t complain and was very sweet and gave me an amazing look. If I ever have an event, I would most definitely only trust Raman with my makeup. She and her team are amazing artists !!

n the day of, she arrived right on time and was very quick to set up. I had opted out of getting a trial but had sent pictures of a similar look I wanted for my wedding day. Before starting my makeup, Raman had asked if I completed her questionnaire to which I completely forgot. She quickly improvised by asking me the similar questions about my style, preferences and my best features. Raman created a bold glam gold eye look with a bold red lipstick and it was absolutely beautiful. She also created my hair look with a braid covered in jasmine flowers. She was very patient and often checkd-in to make sure I comfortable. After she was done, she quickly cleaned up and packed up. Because we were running a little behind schedule, she even offered to help me load the vehicle. Working with Raman felt like I was having a girlfriend doing my makeup, I was at complete ease and comfort. The look she created for my mom was so beautiful. My mom received so many complaints during the wedding ceremony. Thank you so much Raman. I would definitely book Raman again for any professional hair and makeup service and recommend her to all my family and friends.

She spent several hours with during the trial make up to figure out what would look good on me. She gave recommendations around diet and products I could use to improve my skin. What I loved about Raman was that she was very open to feedback. I brought up a few things where I wanted to try something different, and she was very open to incorporating those. On the day of the event, she came dot on time and was did my hair and makeup meticulously. I am very thankful to Raman for making me look and feel beautiful on my wedding day.
