BUYERS BEWARE, if my review could be less than 1 star, it would.
I made an appointment at this store's Albany location and went with both my mom and my sister. When we walked in, my family was sat in the corner of the room, and were not allowed to come help me get dressed (as they were re-directed to "sit down" several times). Before coming here, I had tried on dresses at other locations, and was given 1:1 attention, making me feel welcome. Here, I felt extremely awkward, as the other bride was given the entire floor, while I was directed to use a mirror in the corner (I was given individual attention after the other party left). I thought I had found a dress, and we not only put down the $50 deposit to hold it, but paid for half the dress. We were informed as soon as we walked in that everything in the store was an extra 20% off for the remainder of the month, and was encouraged to come back to purchase other dresses so that we could take advantage of this offer. The woman who was working behind the counter had to be reminded of this, as she kept messing up the numbers. Fast-forward to a week later, and I had to unfortunately call the store to inform them that due to personal reasons, I would no longer be able to purchase the gown that we had placed on hold. We were told that, although we would not be able to be refunded the $ that was put down, it could be transferred toward the purchase of bridesmaid dresses, with the 20% off still applied (mind you, this was advertised on their Facebook page).
The next day, my bridesmaids and I went in, and ordered 4 dresses...Surprise!! The store owner refused to give us the 20% off as promised, because I was no longer purchasing my gown. The stylist who helped us, made no effort to speak to the owner on the phone to try to work with her, and instead made up various excuses as to why I couldn't receive the discount I was promised, trying to make me feel guilty. This is not the way business is done. I understand that they’re a small business, but I honestly contemplated losing out on the deposit that was made, and taking my business elsewhere.
Ladies, if you want the individual attention when shopping for your big day, I would honestly do your research. Also, make sure you get everything in writing, especially to special “offers” are advertised.
