ant took us upstairs to the dress rooms. The consultant didn’t introduce herself. The first thing she said was that brides who shop as early as I do only like shopping or don't know what they want. Not that I have to explain myself, but I explained that I’m a grad student who will graduate a few months before our wedding and don’t have a lot of free time.
Next, she took me throughout the store pointing out designers/designs. I had pulled out a dress and she said “ You have an upside down triangle body type, so that neckline won’t work for you”. I don’t believe bridal consultants should comment on brides body types without invitation.
Throughout the appointment, the consultant kept referencing my family rather than talking directly to the bride. She said the dress I envisioned didn’t exist and that I needed a custom gown. The bridal consultant also continued to pull dresses that weren’t in line with the vision, despite vetoing different skirt types and necklines.
Speaking on a business level, it seemed that they only had a few designers and only a few options within each category of dresses. Brides are also standing and revealing dresses right next to each other. It’s difficult to not get frustrated when the bride next to you is having a more successful appointment!
At the end of the day, there were many flaws with this appointment and bridal consultant. I did end up finding a dress the same day and recommend The White Magnolia in Franklin, TN! Don’t waste your time at Brides by Glitz!

As a plus size bride, I recognize in most boutiques, there are limited options to try on. The thing that stuck out to me, though, was when she was taking my measurements after I decided on the one. She was so thorough and wanted to make sure I ordered the correct size, so she brought a colleague in to double check her measurements when determining the right size to order. That level of detail and care meant so much to me, as a first time buyer who had zero idea what I was doing.

on my dress shopping journey and although I wasn’t completely sold on any dresses on my initial visit, I came back because I felt that this was the best place to go. There are SO many options as far as wedding dress styles go, and the prices also have a ton of variety, which anyone can appreciate! Mary Francis made me feel so comfortable, too.
