I love this shop SO much! More of a self-directed experience, but staff were available to help take dresses to the fitting room. Most of all, the dress I got was way more affordable than any of the ones I looked at elsewhere. I absolutely recommend them to any brides looking for a beautiful, but budget-friendly wedding dress!!

Beautiful dresses and amazing service! I felt welcomed and seen. I was overwhelmed coming into the store because I had never gone dress shopping for anyone’s wedding or anything but they were helpful in so many ways and made me feel at ease. I was so happy that I could find my dress there and there was no stress.

They were super nice, and very helpful :)

Overall a good experience, but I will say they were a little uptight about having guests with you. I brought my mom, sister, and maid of honor with me and throughout our appointment they would bring me dresses they thought I would like. At one point a lady working came up to me and told me they had to stay right next to me and if I was actually approving the dresses they were bringing or if they were just playing in the store. I and my family found this very uncomfortable and rude. The place was not the cleanest and was very little but I was very happy that I found my dress and the money goes towards a great cause. Also important to note their prices are a little high for what they are offering. The dress I got was marked at $850 and had a couple rips, some lace needs to be repaired and other things need fixed. I did receive a 10% discount for having an appointment.

I absolutely love my experience! The staff was wonderful, encouraging, and incredibly helpful! I felt like a true princess and I wasn’t as overwhelmed as I worried I would be. I’ve been following them on Instagram for years and couldn’t wait for my turn to shop. I found my dream dress and some accessories and came out significantly under my budget!

This was THE BEST dress shopping experience. I didn’t know what style I wanted going in, and having been with others getting their wedding dress, I didn’t want a salesperson hyping me up and trying to get me to buy a dress I didn’t want. This was the opposite and it was lovely. My group was left alone and the staff were near by when we had a question and talked me through how a seamstress could alter my dress. They were SO friendly and it was the absolute best experience for me.

The only place I visited. I found my dress for only $100! All of the dresses were very affordable and I loved how I could go at my own pace. Would definitely recommend.

Really enjoyed our trip here. It was the first and only bridal shop I needed to visit- my dress ended up being the second one I tried. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the variety of styles was excellent!

The staff was wonderful, attentive, and really made my experience special by offering great feedback and helping me shop accessories. I found my dream dress here for only 400$!! Their dresses are so affordable I actually bought 2! I love that they let you and your group wander the racks and pick what you're feeling and just pop in to check to make sure you're ok! I loved every bit of my experience and I will be recommending it to every bride I know 😍

I LOVED finding my dress here. I knew when I started dress shopping that the traditional boutique experience wasn't for me, and I wanted the ability to pull my own options and try things on without a ton of external feedback and opinions. This place gave me that space to exercise freedom while still providing great customer service and assistance. All of the associates were attentive, walked me through the gallery and offered advice when called on. The dress selections had so much more variety than the Boutiques I'd been too, and that made it so easy to find my dress, as I was not restricted to the designer trends of the season. I found something vintage-esque with modern touches perfect for our bid day, and the prices are SO affordable!

I've known I wanted to buy my wedding dress from Brides for a Cause for years and I am so excited to finally have gotten to do so! The staff are so nice and supportive. I went in several times before finding the right dress and never had an issue getting an appointment or feeling like I was being rushed to make a decision. It is definitely more of a low key, hands-off kind of shopping experience, but that was perfect for me. I ended up finding an amazing Badgley Mischka designer dress that retails for $3700. It has a couple of small defects that won't be noticeable in pictures and was just $200! There were a ton of dresses there that were in perfect shape, if you are willing to spend a little more. Would definitely recommend Brides for a Cause if you are shopping on a budget or if you just want to support a good cause.

I couldn't be happier about my experience shopping at Brides for a Cause. I first heard about them many years ago and loved the concept (pre-worn AND the proceeds go to women's charities? Yes please!) , but was no longer living in Portland when it came time to start shopping for my wedding dress. I wound up shopping in boutiques across LA (Beverly Hills & Venice) and Honolulu. When I finally made it to Brides for a Cause in Portland, it was hands down my best bridal shopping experience and I found the dress of my dreams (and it even fit me!). I was shopping solo this time and both of the shop attendants were so warm, friendly and helpful (which unfortunately is not the case in all bridal shops). Kelly stayed around to help me while I tried on over 10 dresses and she was so attentive and truly interested in my story. I didn't expect that kind of attention from a discount bridal shop, but they treated my shopping experience like the special occasion it should be. Truly astonished I found a dress so quickly here (I only shopped for an hour!) and it fit me so well. They even had it in both of my close sizes, so I was able to select the one that fit me best. It'll need a couple minor alterations, but nothing like the usual cost of altering a brand new dress. The cost of the whole dress was less than the projected alterations from a different brand new one I'd been considering. Overall, I'm completely thrilled with my dress, the staff and the beautiful ambiance of this shop. Would recommend to anyone shopping for a wedding or bridesmaid dress.

Very professional, wonderful selection of dresses, and lots of appointments available, even same-day appointments on the weekend. Also, their dresses are incredibly affordable. I found my dream dress, a beautiful ballgown with a long train, for $300!

I was one of those brides that had to reschedule, but it was worth it. They helped me so much which having a kiddo that I mainly watch since her papa works all day- they were so kind and helpful. I’ve gone and looked everywhere for that ONE dress. And I couldn’t settle on one that was going to break the bank. And not only did I support a smaller business. But I recommend my FSMIL who is getting married 6 months before me. She bought hers here as well! They recommend alternating from best rated areas, they also have try on rooms that are more smaller and it feels so much better that way because other brides also comment and support each other!

Brides for a cause was an amazing place to shop. My appointment ran long but they were so patient and did not rush me at all. The woman who helped (I wish I could remember her name) was so helpful and encouraging. I also loved being able to support amazing charities with the purchase of my dress.

I love Brides for a Cause! Two of my friends bought their dresses from here, and I knew it's where I wanted to get mine. There were so many beautiful options, and the staff was really friendly while also giving my group space to do our thing. I found a dress I loved at a great price, and it feels extra right to know I'm helping women in Portland with my purchase and doing a little bit to preserve the environment by buying secondhand. Highly recommend to anyone and everyone!

This place is amazing! The staff is so friendly and helpful. I loved that I got to look through the dress selection myself and didn’t have to tell a sales person I didn’t like a dress they pulled for me (I’m very picky). The staff let’s you do your thing and assists when asked. I found my dress here, a couture dress that originally cost $6,200 and I got it for $1,200. The best part is that the proceeds go to helping women. I couldn’t ask for anything better!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience here! One of the women who work here actually was the one who found the perfect dress- something I wouldn’t have picked out by myself, but was so stunning once I put it on that I actually cried! I really had one of those special “say yes to the dress” moments- and I only ended up paying half the price that it would have been brand new.

This was my first trip shopping for a wedding dress, and I had a great experience! making a reservation for 1 hour appt was easy and was enough time to try on 20 dresses! I found my wedding dress and it was wonderful to know that the money I spent went to charities that help women.

Not only did I get my dream dress at a wonderful discount but I got the peace of mind that I was also helping charities with this purchase! The staff was wonderfully helpful without being too hover-y. I would absolutely recommend them to any bride!

I had been wanting to shop at Brides for a Cause ever since getting engaged December 2020. When Covid happened, I wasn't as excited to dress shop and our wedding date kept getting postponed. I was back to shopping this spring and we have our date set for July 9th. Cutting it close for sure on finding a dress! First stop I made was to Brides for a Cause in Portland because I liked the idea of the money I spent on a dress going to a meaningful cause. I took two of my bridesmaids to shop and came into the store to an extremely welcoming environment. In addition to my bridesmaids and I picking a number of gorgeous (and great priced) dresses, there were a number of store associates who also helped us find other dresses to try on. After trying on and finding one that I was happy to settle with, one of the nicest workers at the store found me another dress from another fitting room that she thought would look good with my boots I wore in. It turned out that was THE ONE! I went into the store with a modest budget (staying under $1000) but nothing I tried on went over the budget. My dress did need to be altered (taken in as well as a bustle for the longer train) but the store even sent me out with a list of seamstresses who did alterations in the Portland area and even went above and beyond finding ones in the Albany area for me since that's closer to home. I can't begin to say enough wonderful things about this store and the people who work there, they truly make you feel special and supported throughout the entire dress buying experience. My only recommendation would be when planning to shop here or any other store off the rack, plan ahead and call some local seamstresses if you're close to your wedding date so you can go in with a plan. I was very fortunate to get an appointment immediately after taking my dress home but since I shopped on a Saturday, I was nervous about the alteration process. This store is amazing! Shop here before going anywhere else.

I'd been following Brides for a Cause for several years, and when I got engaged, I really wanted to focus on being as sustainable as I could be with my wedding decisions, so I knew at once that I wanted to get my dress from one of their stores. I travelled to Portland with my mom and bridesmaids to go dress shopping at their boutique, and I was amazed at the selection of dresses they had available. I really appreciated the ability to take my time to go through the racks myself knowing that the sales people were available to help if needed, and I ended up finding my wedding dress for $200! Two of my three bridesmaids also got their dresses at Brides for a Cause, and we were all thrilled with the experience. I would highly recommend any bride to look at Brides for a Cause for their wedding dress. It's an amazing way to give back with your wedding and be sustainable in the process! Little tip: Since everything is off the rack and the appointment time is only an hour, I would recommend trying on wedding dresses at another place first so that you can get an idea of what your size is and what you're looking for. That way when you get to Brides for a Cause, you can be a little more focused in your wedding dress search.

loved this place! went with my mom and they were very sweet, and nonjudgmental, which is something i have experienced in other bridal salons. I found my dress the day we went and I could not be happier. the girls there are willing to answer any questions, supply you with a list of seamstresses in the area, as well as dry cleaners, and give assistance to figuring out how to put your dress on. Also, the prices are great, and it goes to a good cause!! Could not recommend this place more!!

Brides for a Cause was a great place to find my dress! Unfortunately, you do need an appointment. I wish I would have thought to call day of for cancellations though. It took me a few weeks to find a time that worked for me. Also, if this is your first time trying on dresses it may be difficult. You won't receive the undivided attention that you will at another bridal salon. What I did love about this shop and the fact that they are used dresses, is that my dress already has a bustle and has been taken in before. This will save me a lot on alterations!

I bought my wedding dress from here. Brides for a cause was amazing!

I went with the bride in search of two bridesmaids dresses after striking out at vintage shops around town. We were able to find matching dresses, and a selection of other dresses in our sizes. While some of the bridesmaids dresses were on a rack, many more are in bins by size that you have to search through. We were able to find two of the same color in different but complementary styles (per the brides wishes). And the best is I only spent $20!! This is a space for do it yourself and on the cheap folks, the staff are kind and helpful but only if you ask them. Very happy with my purchase.

I'd more or less resigned myself to not being able to wear a gown by a designer I love but who doesn't have a Portland showroom, so it was extra exciting to find a mint-condition sample from that very designer on the Brides for a Cause rack! The selection is huge and the style size variation seemed wide. It was a very chill shopping experience; the staff were quite hands off but able to assist once I got their attention. I appreciated this, but it's definitely not the curated gowns and champagne experience you might get at a boutique.

I found a gorgeous dress here, for an AMAZING price! The process in the store was very organized and the team working was helpful! I did feel a bit rushed while shopping as they only give you an hour, and only let you have about 5 dresses in your fitting room at once- but that policy is understandable. I was able to put my favorite dress on hold for 24 hours while I went to one other shop- at the other shop I couldn’t find anything that I loved like the dress we already found, so we went back that evening to pick up my dress!! They have a pretty great selection! Also gave me a long list of seamstresses for my alterations. Overall great experience if you are okay looking through the racks yourself!

Prices can't be beat. If you are looking for a good deal and the chance to shop and try on more independently, this is the place. even before Covid they were very hands off and you pulled your own dresses and got yourself into them. Everyone is quite friendly bit if you are wanting to feel like a VIP, look elsewhere.

I got my wedding dress here and could not be happier! I got to try on plenty of dresses and had so many options to choose from. Also loved that I was supporting a good cause and not spending a fortune on something I will wear once. Highly recommend!

Found a sample dress here for 70% off retail. Dresses are arranged by size and then they give you a room. I was told women generally get through 10-15 dresses in an hour. I got through 7. They held the dress for me while I went to another store. Very happy with my purchase.

This venue for an awesome cause was the best place to buy a dress from that I could have imagined. The staff was helpful, friendly, amazingly sweet and let me do my own thing when I was in Go mode. Best prices, best dresses, huge selecting of different styles and tastes. Brides for A Cause really made my dream of finding my perfect dress come true in one day!

On my second visit to Brides for a Cause I found my wedding dress for $300! It's the Naomi dress by Martin Thornburg - it's a gorgeous gown and is in near-perfect condition (one small spot on the underside of the chapel train, which isn't at all visible when worn). The selection of dresses was very good and the prices are unbeatable. This bridal salon is very DIY. It was really great for me, but it's definitely not the same as having an appointment with a bridal consultant at a traditional salon. It would be helpful to bring a friend or two to help you quickly select up to 15 dresses within the one-hour appointment time. As I was alone (I felt it was best during Covid to limit the number of people) it was a real hustle to try on all the dresses I was interested in. The staff was friendly and was helpful to zip me up and take photos for me, as needed.

I found a beautiful dress! My only critique is that they need to allow for 2hr time slots. 1hr is simply not enough time to try on 15 dresses. Especially for the new bride who is trying on dresses for the first time. That said, they did allow me to go 30min over my time slot so that was helpful.

I got my wedding dress for $700! It is the silver Hearst Dress from BHLDN. Looks brand new, you can barely tell it was a sample. 3 of my bridesmaids and my mother also got their dresses here! Designer special occasion dresses for $50! Such a great experience all around.

I went to BFAC as part of the Brides Across America program to buy my dress. It was an amazing experience! I tried on about 12 dresses and as soon as I put on dress #12 I knew it was the one! The staff was so helpful and kind and they were always right there ready to take dresses back to the fitting room to go try on. They were extremely encouraging and gave compliments on every dress truly making you feel super important and cared for! Overall, the experience was absolutely amazing and I would recommend to anybody looking to find that perfect dress!
