I loved this shop. I was obsessed with Pronovias dresses and Brides of France had tons of them. Jill was wonderful and really made me feel special during our appointment. I found the perfect dress there and it was such a simple process to get it ordered. My only note - they might recommend a seamstress and I would highly recommend you choose someone else instead. The recommended seamstress ended up doing a fantastic job in the end, but there were moments that were incredibly stressful where I was wondering if my dress would be completely ruined or get lost. It was not ideal in the last 3 months before your wedding.
Absolutely loved my experience with Brides of France. Jill helped me throughout my appointment. After walking around and selecting dresses I liked from the shelves, Jill pulled out a few additional options that she thought I would like based on the others. She ended up grabbing a stunning Eddy K dress, that I couldn't stop smiling in.
She recommended Kay Mrachek for alterations, and she did a wonderful job! She has so much experience with altering wedding dresses. She worked some magic with my multilayered dress and created a genius design to make bustling it easy.
I'm all set for my wedding day and would absolutely recommend Brides of France and Kay to anyone going through this process.
This shop is incredible! I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Dee for my first appointment, and she listened to our thoughts and opinions, ensuring the next dresses she pulled were better-aligned with what I wanted! She treated me and my family like VIPs and made it a wonderful experience!
I ultimately "slept on it" and revisited to meet the owner, Jill who clearly takes a lot of pride and care of every gown in the store! She talked me through alterations, possible bustles, veils and even jewelry and undergarments to help me look my best on my big day!
Overall an incredible experience and I would recommend Brides of France to any bride who wants to feel beautiful, heard and taken care of!
Thank you Jill and Dee!!!
I was supposed to have a 90 minute appointment. It lasted only 30 minutes. The shop is SMALL and cramped and the stylist did not help “alter” the dress to make it fit better. She also did not do a good job closing the small curtain to prevent people from seeing me change. She focused on other people and not me. Your party with you has no room. When I would go out with a dress, she wouldn’t even show or fix the train. It was a horrible experience. I told her the styles I liked but that I was open and after about 5 dresses she said that was about all they had and to have a good day. It was the WORST experience and made me feel horrible about myself. Do not use Shelby. I was so disappointed in this shop
I worked with several ladies at Brides of France and all were knowledgeable and lovely. I went in “just to look…” and ladies, we all know how that goes. I ended up picking a lovely Eddy K gown on my first visit, at 20% off to boot! Jill in particular is down to earth, extremely knowledgeable, and has tons of stories to share. She has a great eye for both style and affordability in a wedding dress, and I cannot recommend her and Bride’s of France enough! 5/5
Cute little shop and everyone is so nice! I ended up purchasing my wedding dress from here. I had their tailor, Lisa, do my alterations and she did an excellent job.
Jill is amazing!! From the moment I walked in, she was intent in listening to what I was looking for and then began pulling dresses that "fit" my body type. She was spot on!! Girls... we all think, we know what "magical" dress we want, but that doesn't mean that style will look "magical" on you. I truly felt that Jill wouldn't let someone purchase a bridal gown that wasn't absolutely stunning on them.
Jill expertise on bridal gowns and the designers is a talent, all-in-itself!! A wonderful experience at Brides of France!!
I only had to try on one dress at Brides of France to know that it was “the one,” but the service and selection at the salon was top notch! Everyone that worked at the salon including the owner Jill were very attentive and made me feel at home in the store as I tried on my dress. They even let me come back another day before it opened so that I could try on my dress with my wedding party! My sister also found her dress at Brides of France and we encountered the same high level of service as she chose her dress. I also ended up using their seamstress Kay for my dress alterations and was very impressed with her diligence and communication while she worked to get my dress done on time for our wedding. The dress ended up fitting me like a glove!
I purchased a last minute dress from this shop due to my original dress not working out the way I planned. The ladies were such a pleasure to work with! They helped me feel relief during such a stressful time and I cannot thank them enough!
I had a bad experience at a more well known salon and then found out about Brides of France unexpectedly. No appointment necessary. The customer service was amazing! All the employees were so sweet and made me feel so comfortable. They did not rush me or make me feel like I needed to purchase anything. They let me stay in the gown as long as I wanted. The second dress I tried on I got! A beautiful boho dress from Spain.

Try on all the dresses you please but everything you could ever want is at Brides of France . The team is kind and personable, they took care of my dress for several months and recommended an amazing tailor as well, conveniently below the shop! They have incredible bridal accessories and veils that I wasn’t expecting but was pleasantly surprised. Check this place out, they have dresses for every budget . I wanted a dress from Spain and they had them! I love this place ❤️❤️
This bridal shop is absolutely the best in the Twin Cities. Bonnie and Jill are real-life fairy godmothers who single-handedly saved my wedding day.
After a sub-par experience at a highly overrated Minneapolis bridal salon, and a devastating alteration job that destroyed my original wedding gown, I sobbed my way into Brides of France only 4 days before I walked down the aisle. I didn’t even think it was a possibility to find and alter a new gown with less than 4 days before my wedding, but Bonnie, Jill and their incredible seamstress, Kay, made it happen for me.
From the moment I walked into this boutique, until the second I left the store, I was treated like a princess. Every gown I tried on, Jill and Bonnie gave me their undivided attention and went above and beyond to ensure that I felt beautiful, confident, and comfortable.
I left Brides of France with my DREAM dress, a dress I never ever envisioned myself in, but it was beyond stunning. And Kay altered it beautifully to fit my body - in less than 4 days!!!
Thank you, Bonnie, Jill and Kay. You made my day perfect and my husband sobbed like a baby when he saw me. Winning!
After visiting a few other boutiques and finding some dresses I liked, I stopped into Brides of France with the hope of finding the perfect dress for my wedding day. Jill helped me find it in a gorgeous Mikaella gown. The feeling of putting on a dress and knowing immediately the it was the one I was going to get married in is a feeling I will never forget. I am so grateful for the personal attention Jill gave me, the honest input and advice she shared, and her suggestions for how to personalize my dress to make it truly “the one." Jill's customer service and knowledge of the dresses they carry is unmatched. The way in which they worked with my mom and I was not only professional, it was fun. Jill, thank you for helping me find the dress of my dreams; I felt so beautiful on my wedding day.
I had an incredible experience picking out my wedding gown here. Jill gave me so much personal attention, and didn't push me towards any specific dress. She gave me all the information I needed to make a decision, such as how I could personalize my dress (extending train, adding buttons, custom cutting necklines, etc.). She knew so much about the gowns because she only carries two designers. Additionally, she wasn't concerned about how long it took for me to decide. I came in three times and bought the dress on my third visit, and she was so patient, understanding, and helpful. In all three of my visits, I saw her exercise impeccable customer service with each and every bride. I would recommend this shop to any bride who is looking for a dress in the $1800-$2500ish price range.
What a fantastic, unique wedding shop in the middle of the Twin Cities. Truly a hidden gem, Brides of France carries a few designers you will not find anywhere else in the Twin Cities area. Jill and her team are fantastic and made me feel very special from the first time I walked through their doors to try on my future wedding dress, through dress pick up, and picking out accessories. I would highly recommend all brides to take a look here, you will not be disappointed and perhaps, like me, find the dress of your dreams!
I was not a traditional bride. I did not plan my wedding a year in advance. We started planning our July wedding in February. When I started shopping for a dress, I quickly discovered that the wedding dress industry was not made for me and most bridal salons did not mind making me feel as though I had missed the boat and would need to just settle for some off-the-rack disaster of a dress and that the damage of 100 fittings "might" be able to be repaired by a seamstress. It was depressing. That is until my mom and I just decided to stop by Brides of France without an appointment on a Friday afternoon. The staff was fantastic! They started by immediately directing me to dresses that could be ordered and expedited within 8 weeks. That's right, a custom dress just for me! They carry the most wonderfully curated selection of dresses and nothing about their shop is like the big box experience. You can see that each dress and accessory has been selected for a specific reason. I received personal attention and they even gave suggestions on alterations and styling. I had wanted a vintage-inspired lace dress and I found the most beautiful Mikaella gown. I cannot say enough about how wonderful my dress shopping experience was! They also directed me to my seamstress, Kay who was exceptionally talented! I highly recommend this shop!
Found the perfect dress here and even got it during a sale event! They called as soon as it came in and I still had plenty of time to have it tailored for me. Staff was friendly and helpful without being pushy. Busy store on the weekends but still got us in!
I found the dress of my dreams and was able to walk out the door with it that day thanks to the Brides of France consignment room. I am a dress size 10 and found all salons to have dresses far too small or too big to imagine what they would really look like. Here I was able to really imagine what my dress would look like on me, and the small changes I wanted to have done were so easy. The consultant I used there, Sharon did alterations for my wedding party as well.
inspired by Billie Holiday, i was able to wear a vintage-inspired non-traditional dress. it needed quite a bit of alterations and BOF was able to put me in touch with an affordable seamstress. they are not the place to go if you don't have months to wait for a dress and aren't a small size, however.
The dress selection at Brides of France is very unique and classic, beautiful silk and lace dresses. The staff and owners are so nice, and very helpful. I checked out all of the big name shops in Minneapolis and this was the best as far as service. They took time with me and worked with my budget, they also have an amazing consignment selection.
The staff was so helpful and kind through the whole process of buying my dress.
They also have awesome sales on their accessories.
The ladies at Brides of France helped me find the most beautiful wedding dress! Great service and they referred me to a wonderful seamstress!
I purchased my dress from Brides of France, specifically the location that had consignment dresses. Gowns were well kept and within a reasonable price range - all under about $1,500. They had great customer service & no appointment was necessary!
This shop was amazing, it is actually on France Avenue now. Totally helpful and experienced with brides. They had just opened the Outlet store (a couple doors down from the main store) and that's where I tried on my dress. It was the first one I tried. I was devastated when it tore on the corner of their unfinished dressing room (they just opened). They were sorry about it and the alteration lady (AWESOME) who lives in the neighborhood and comes over quite often, fixed it no problem. They were an awesome team, professional and dow-to-earth, and they only carry these dresses from Spain. Mine was a La Sposa. LOVE IT STILL even though the straps kind of dug into my shoulders all night. Vintage -lace styled but with Spanish detailed lace and quite a few unique layers of tulle (one was dotted and one was accordian). I just loved it all. The drive was a little rough but for as much money I saved having a gorgeous designer dress of my dreams, I can't complain ($900). Ok I just changed from 4 stars to 5 because I am happy! Oh and found the perfect veil there (had been looking everywhere) when I came back for my 1st and only fitting!
Bride's of France have a lot of options to choose from. Some dresses are consigned with shockingly low prices. They also offer samples and new dresses. Their experience in the business is evident in their service. I felt that they were honest about how the dress looked on me and went with what I wanted. It wasn't pushy or fake in any way. And now their stores are right next to each other on France Ave in Edina!
I did not enjoy looking for wedding dresses, but at Brides of France, they were so laid back and helpful. They let me try on so many dresses, take as much time as I needed with each one, and did everything they could to make the process as easy as possible. And I found my dress!
I only purchased by veil from this store, but I loved their selection and service in choosing the veil. I worked with the shop owner to find a fingertip length lace-edge veil and she was incredibly helpful in trying on different styles and helping me pick one out. She also sold us the sample for 30% off, which was fantastic. I ended up picking out a gorgeous veil by Paloma Blanco and I couldn't be happier.
After trying on over 50 dresses, I walked into the store over my lunch hour and found the perfect dress. It fit off the rack and because it was discontinued, we were able to negotiate for a better price on it. Bonnie was fantastic, patient, responsive, and helpful whenever i needed anything.
I found a great dress at such a reasonable price, and it was ready quickly. The alterations and cleaning were a bit pricey, but all in all i was very happy!
I would not recommend this vendor for 2 reasons: 1) I had an appointment and was completely ignored (while the staff waited on a group that walked in with no appointment) and 2) the dresses (at least at the Edina location) were organized by size. Therefore, there were several dresses I couldn't try on because they were too small, which was really disappointing.
I love my La Sposa dress, so much so I didn't want to take it off at the end of the night. Rachel at the Brides of France was super sweet and helpful as I tried to make my decision about my dress. I appreciated her help and guidance. When I went back to make my purchase, the owner was a bit more abrasive, which was a bit disappointing.
It was so easy here. I tried on many dress before going to Brides of France (Richfield location). It was not packed and there was no pressure. I fell in love right away.
My dress was amazing! I never wanted to take it off. The selection at the store was great. I bought my dress right off the rack and got a great savings! My experience at Brides of France was incredable!
They have some hidden gems in here! I found my wedding gown here as a sample - was about half of the retail price. Absolutely stunning. Also found an awesome veil to go with it. Staff is excellent; knowledgeable and friendly.
They were very helpful at the store, and even discounted my dress, as it was consignment and the bottom needed hemming. I loved my dress!
I had a wonderful experience with Jill at Bride's of France! She listened and produce my vision to me and I couldn't have been happier. Not to mention I got lucky by arriving during a sale and purchase my jewelry, my garter, a fascinator AND my mother's shoes here! I highly recommend!
I got my wedding dress here. It was beautiful. And waaaay over my budget. That was my choice. What I liked? They had dresses in my size. What I didnt like? They completely screwed up one of my bridesmaids dresses, they didnt apologize, and they didnt make it better.
I found my gorgeous dress in Richfield with the help of the owner and another employee... It was a consigned dress that had never been worn and couldn't believ the amazing price! They had an array of accessories and I fell in love with the shop right away. I highly recommend any bride going there that's on a budget and wants something different. I will cherish my dress forever:))
xx Em
They have such beautiful and unique dresses!
I am not a big dress person but I knew I was going to wear one when I married. My mom was very excited to shop, I was not. Brides of France had great choices and never tried to "sell" me on a dress. 4th dress I tried on was the one and we were done.
The botique I bought my dress from ended up closing and moving to Edina. They had me come pick up my dress when they were supposed to store it for me. I did love my dress but I think I was lucky to find it. I bought a consignment piece and ended up getting a great deal for what the dress originally costed.
Brides of France was great! The ladies were very helpful and made me feel like a queen each time I visited! I would highly recommend them and already have a couple of times!!
My dress was found at another shop and yet I ordered from here because of customer service. Also, my dress arrived early and was just the size I wanted. Impressed.
They were fantastic to work with. I knew I wanted a consignment dress. I got an expensive dress on my budget. The store owner spent 2 hours with my family helping us with the many dresses we tried on. My dress was beautiful! they have their own seamstress too, and she was a delight to work with.
The staff at Brides of France were very friendly and were helpful in locating the styles that I was interested in.
Brides of France was the first and only wedding dress shop I went to. I was surprised but delighted to find my dress on the first day I went looking. The ladies at the shop were helpful and patient as I tried on many dresses and ended up with a sample dress from La Sposa from the 2010 season. They gave me a discount and were very helpful to work with throughout the process. They remembered my name and were very helpful. I also purchased a veil and floral headpiece for the reception from Brides of France. They recommended a great seamstress who did my dress alterations. I always had a friendly, relaxed environment at Brides of France.
I went to the Edina location, I ended up buying the first dress I tried on! The dress arrived early and was perfect! Jill, the manager was great- we had to come in several times so everyone could see it and they were always welcoming and helpful! They even kept my dress for a couple weeks so I could find a place to keep it until the wedding!
I originally bought my dress from Brides of France in Uptown and I followed them all the way to Richfield. Amanda was fabulous to work with and visit for all appointments!!! She also made my head piece!!!!! I had somany compliments on my dress and even better....I have not ever seen one like it!!!!!!
I used this vendor for some of my wedding accessories and gifts for my bridesmaids. They were great--unique product, good prices, great service.
Brides of France was great in helping me find my wedding dress. The staff is very nice and friendly.
Fabulous place with no appointments required!!! Just don't visit on a weekend and you will be fine. Great staff willing to help out with anything! They have a fantastic jewelry collection! I went in to try my dress on about 6 times and they were wonderful!
I found my wedding dress at the Brides of France salon on 50th France. It is a quirky little shop with fantastic sales ladies working there. Brides of France is very different from some of the other salons that I visited. They only carry 2 designers so this might not be the place to go the first time you start looking at dresses unless you know exactly what you are looking for.
I found a beautiful dress that was on a sample sale and decided that it was perfect for me! The woman who sold me my dress, Kay, also did all of my alternations- I loved her! I met with her at her house to do all of my fittings so it was easy to find time that worked for both of us. Kay also fixed up my veil which had been passed on to me from my sister and needed a little rehab from her wedding.
I went back into Brides of France to find my wedding jewlery . . . they have a good selection of vintage looking (some actual vintage) pieces along different price ranges. The ladies were so fun and friendly helping me pick out my jewelry.
I loved my dress...the service was fantastic. Mimi knew exactly what I was trying to get out of my dress and it only took 4 tries to find the perfect one for me.
The people in the store were amazingly helpful! They helped me put together a whole look--dress, wrap, jewelry, veil!
Luxurious, elegant, simple, affordable. This was my dress - perfect.
My dress had already been altered and we were the same size, so very little had to be done. (Savings!)The Brides of France were very friendly, informative and helpful in finding this amazing dress- making the process fun and stress-free.
A cute boutique, not much off the rack. Helpful staff.
This place was adorable, but still on the expensive side. I expected more of an "off the rack" wedding shop, and they only had a few dresses I could have purchased and walked out of the store with. They had adorable jewlery and hair pieces. The ladies working were so friendly and helpful!
they made me look so AMAZING-created a complete look I didn't find at any other wedding shoppe I tried. Unique accessories perfectly complemented unique gowns. I can't say enough good things about this boutique! ask for jill.
I first went to the Edina Brides of France and had a great experience, the girls were fun. creative, and helpful. I wanted to look at the dress in a different color that they did not have, so we were sent to the Uptown location. The girls here seemed snide, unhelpful, and acted like they had something better to do then help us. When my dress came in and I went to try it on they did not offer to keep it there until I needed alterations done, when I asked she said yes, but acted as if this was a total inconvenience. If looking at Brides of France, go to the Edina location!
I tried 8 - 10 different places and couldn't find my dress. Stopped into Brides of France tried on three dresses and the last one was the one! Best place for wedding dresses - They are so wonderful!
I started my dress search with Brides of France, and while I can say I had a MUCH better experience at their Minneapolis location than their Edina location, I would not go back. The selection is very limited and somewhat beat up. One of the consultants I worked with was very nice, but the other girls were rather condescending and made me feel like I was somehow inconveniencing them (mostly Edina). I did not recommend this salon to any of my engaged girlfriends.
I ordered my dress through the Edina location after having an awful experience at another bridal salon. They were very helpful and nice. My dress came in on time (actually a little early) and it was correct.
My only complaint is that they had a sale less than a week after I bought my dress (20% off all dresses) and they wouldn't let me take advantage of the discount. Also when I came in to pick up my dress and they realized I wasn't going to be buying any accessories, their friendliness came down a notch.
But overall I had a good experience and would recommend them to another bride.
