I found my dress at Brides to Be for less than half of the original price! I'd been shopping for months and had visited salons in Florida and in Connecticut looking for my perfect dress. I had a few dresses come close, but I hadn't found the one. I came to Brides to Be because I was looking to find my dress on a budget. I was greeted warmly and I was able to begin shopping right away. I pulled a few dresses off the rack, and knew I'd found the one when I tried on the second dress I'd chosen. It fit me perfectly, like the dress was made for me! I was so happy to work with the staff there. It was very important to them that I felt beautiful and looked great. Check out Brides to Be when you're shopping for your dress!
Horrible experience, was in there with friends for more than 30 minutes without one employee even acknowledging us, tried on dress without staff help and then got an attitude because we didn’t ask for help. Rude and uppity.
Brides To Be is the perfect place to find a one-of-a-kind, affordable wedding gown! The ladies were incredibly helpful and made the process stress-free and easy. I tried on several gowns and quickly found one I loved. To make sure it was the perfect fit, they brought out several other dresses from storage made by the same designer. I can't thank Brides To Be enough for the wonderful experience!
First and only place I went to shop for my wedding dress. Amazing selection, Gail was incredible at picking out the dresses that were my style! I found my dress after trying on a few, and it is my dream dress! I have not done alterations with them yet- my mother bought her wedding dress from here last year and loved her alterations, but after reading other reviews I am nervous about going with their seamstress. I may go to my seamstress who I trust instead. Great dresses though for great prices!
If you are looking for personal service, this is the place to go. The staff and owner worked with me to find a gorgeous dress, in budget AND invested the time to make sure I was happy with my decision. I fell in LOVE with my gown, and they were helpful with accessories and alterations too!
While the shop is super fun and the staff sweet - my alterations came out horrible and I had to buy a whole new dress 1 week before the ceremony. Stressful - but I ended up with a much better dress any way. I recommend the shop but NOT the seamstress - go to someone you trust for that.
This was the first stop on a whole day of dress shopping within mins I had on my dream dress. I had a few other appts I had planned for the day. So I didn’t want to be done just yet. I asked them to hold it just for the day. They had no problems doing that! By 3 pm we had canceled the last appt for the day, called Brides to Be , to tell them we were on our way. They’re service was great. My cousin had recommended them, I live 2 1/2 hours away., so using their seamstress doesn’t seem realistic to us. But overall great experience!
I brought my dress and veil here. Both were in perfect condition and I got a dress that you wont see anyone in. The prices were great and the owner was amazing. As for alternations I would not use this place I had to go back 3-4 times to get my dress done correctly and the alternation woman (Barbara) had missed my dress up. They did fix it only once the owner got involved. Buying here is great, but NO alternation.
I only has to try on 2 dresses when I knew I has found my gown. The shop was easy to navigate, staff was pleasant and courteous, and alterations were cost effective and prompt. It was a wonderful experience and I found my princess gown for a fraction of the price!
I definitely didnt think I would be finding my dress here, but I did! and I loved it! everyone was raving about it!
I wasn't originally sure what to expect from a "bridal consignment shop", but Brides to Be was the first, and ended up being only, location I went to to shop for wedding dresses. I went on a Saturday morning in October without an appointment. There was only one other girl in the shop at that time, and I was able to start shopping right away. There was no time limit, and no pressure for me to make a decision. I must have tried on at least 20 dresses with the help of my sister, mom, aunt, and best friend. Once it became clear what types of styles we preferred the ladies at Brides to Be even went and pulled some dresses from downstairs that weren't on display yet. It is a good thing they did because I ended up picking one of those! I ended up getting my beautiful dress (which was not pre-owned, it was from a store in NY who would not longer sell it because it was "last season") for about half off its retail price. I thought the selection, value, and customer service at Brides to Be were all exceptional, and recommend it to all of my friends.
My mom convinced me to take a look at Brides to Be. I was skeptical of going to a consignment shop for my wedding dress, but ended up finding a gorgeous dress there. It was a sample left over from a designer's older collection. The dress was absolutely amazing and unlike anything else I could find. Pros are that you can find unique dresses at great prices - I never would have been able to afford the dress I got if I had found it in a traditional bridal shop. Cons are that you lose all the perks and security that a traditional bridal shop can provide. I found that out the hard way. Against my wedding planner's advice, I decided to let Brides to Be's seamstress do the alterations - HUGE MISTAKE. She ended up ruining my dress and because this was a "last of its kind" sample, I had no choice but to have someone try and fix it. I ended up going to my wedding planner's recommended seamstress to get it fixed. She did a fabulous job, but the amount of time and resources it took to fix ended up costing more than what I paid for the dress in the first place. The woman who fixed the dress for me told me most bridal shops would have instantly ordered me a new dress. Unfortunately that wasn't an option for me. I was also a little disappointed with Brides to Be as well. Instead of helping to resolve the issue, they washed their hands of it and told me I would need to work out any recourse directly with the seamstress. I had already given her a deposit and she wanted me to pay her the balance owed before I could take it anywhere else. I ended up paying her to ruin my dress so I could take it somewhere else and have it fixed. I get that Brides to Be wanted me to give their seamstress the opportunity to fix it before taking it somewhere else, but after everything I went through getting my dress fixed I have no regrets on taking it some place else. I seriously doubt Brides to Be's seamstress would have been able to fix it.
I've brought old bridesmaid dresses to Brides to Be in the past, so they were on the list of places I wanted to shop when it was time to find me gown. After visiting a few other shops to try on dresses, I went into Brides to Be with a pretty good idea of the style and details I wanted. After 5 minutes in the racks, I pulled 3 options and with one pull of the zipper I found my gown! Not only was the dress exactly what I was looking for (all lace with an embellished silk accent belt) but it was my size (fitting perfectly except for the length which their alterations women hemmed for me) AND as a bonus it was a sample from a Kleinfields exclusive designer that I had a ton of inspiration pictures from. It was everything I wanted, in perfect condition, a third of the cost it would have been anywhere else and I didn't have to wait months to see it again. We bought it that day, brought it home (where I visited it in it's bag when I felt wedding stress) and I only had to part with it for a few days for alterations. All the women that work at Brides to Be are SO nice and helpful! If you want a low stress shopping experience and a gown at a great price, definitely shop here. =)
This is a great place to buy a wedding dress! They ladies there are very helpful and don't rush you!! I found a beautiful Allure sample for a great price! The person doing the alterations there was also great and worked with me to get the right fit. I would highly recommend this store for wedding gowns.
The staff at Brides to Be are all very helpful! I found a beautiful dress that was brand new and paid only $250.
I went to Brides To Be after a negative experience with David's Bridal. The staff at Brides To Be was so attentive - they completely made my dress shopping experience! I got my alterations done on site and my dress fit like a glove. Great price for a beautiful, high quality dress!
Went in because my MOH suggested it, and was going in to just check out some styles.
Picked out 5 dresses, saved my favorite for last...and bought it!
All the ladies that work there are super sweet, and very willing to work with you. They give great opinions, and even offer layaway!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!
You walk in and smell poop or B.O. Neither is good and it doesn't make you feel good about the garments. I rented something from here and they put it under the wrong name, so when my husband went to pick it up, they gave him a hard time about it. I don't know who decided to change the name without asking me, but let's give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they are crazy and it's not their fault. Still, don't go there. I looked at some prices, and it's not worth it.
I've known for years how expensive a bridal dress is, and you only wear it once! For the past year I've been working in resale. I never buy clothes at their full price, why would I do the same for a wedding dress?
I went to the shop just to try on dresses for fun. I never expected to buy something so soon after my engagement, and I never thought I could afford the dress of my dreams. The women there were so nice and I never felt pressured to buy a thing. I fell in love with a dress that normally costs around $2,000. I got if for $750! Plus, I was able to put it on lay away.
I highly, highly recommend them! I will bring my wedding party there to buy dresses. I consider myself very lucky that the first store I went to, I got my dress and great service!
The owner of Brides to Be, Phyllis was fantastic! You never need an appointment at Brides to Be, you can just walk in. The women there are so nice and easy going. They let me come back 5 times to try on the same dress before I decided it was obviously the one for me! I tell everyone I know about Brides to be!
When I saw the dress, I just fell for it. The ladies saw how much I adored it, so they made sure it was tailored to fit me perfectly. They were so sweet.
I ended up loving the dress and the photos of it, but had a bit of a scare when I came in for my first fitting. I loved the dress itself, but was not 100% happy with the alterations I guess - in the end it worked out though. They replaced the zipper, and the dress seemed to have shrunk 2 dress sizes! Yikes (and I had LOST some weight). Also, the neckline alteration was not at all how we had discussed at the 1st fitting, but fixed to my satisfaction by the 2nd fitting. The dress bustle was also a bit too long. A good place to buy a dress, but alterations were expensive, and may be better someplace else. The dress itself was $600, but after alterations and the final steaming ($150 at the place they recommended) it totaled over $1000
I LOVE this shop! A friend of the family bought her dress here and suggested to my mom that I start at Brides to Be. It was the first and only shop I looked! Everyone was so helpful and courteous. The dresses were very reasonably priced. I found my dress the first day and walked out with it! I highly recommend it. The alterations were perfect as well. Absolutely NO complaints. My dress was under $700 and elsewhere would've been much, much more!
I bought a Maggie Sottero gown from Brides to Be that was on consignment and under $600! I had my alterations through them as well. Everything was great! It is a small shop and some may be biased against buying a used dress, but they have new dresses as well. The owner, Phyllis, and her staff are wonderful ladies who made my family, and myself , feel at home and more than comfortable to take our time. The used items are cleaned before you wear them, and honestly, no one would have ever known it was worn before if I hadn't been so thrilled at the great deal! We used the money I would have spent (thousands easily) on a brand new designer dress for bills and a bunch of little details I wouldn't have previously bought for the wedding. It was perfect! (If anyone wants to buy my dress, I will be taking it back there soon to sell. Why not get money for it, and let someone else feel like they got a steal? It looks brand new still and I'll never wear it again!) If you want a pressure-free fun shopping experience, go to Brides to Be! They have an insane number of dresses there for all kinds of formal ocassions!
