s why we were confused when we felt Jakub's service was subpar.
Our first contact call with him went great - he was reassuring and enthusiastic (we were planning an intimate wedding with a multicultural family so we wanted to make sure to honor everyone's heritage and tastes). However, that was essentially the last time I heard from him.
About 2 weeks before the wedding, I contacted him feeling slightly nervous that we hadn't really connected to go over everything. I wasn't aware he was communicating directly with the wedding venue and our in-house coordinator so in my mind he wasn't fully aware of the timeline. That was my bad. However, for the price of his service, I have to say that I was expecting more proactive communication on his part.
I felt like I had to nag him to get insight into what was going to happen at the wedding, which was a bummer. We even got what felt like some passive agressiveness. Up until the day of, things felt unclear.
Day of went pretty well considering how in the dark I felt about everything. We had a few awkward mishaps (special dances didn't transition correctly at the time stamps we requested and my special dance with my grandmother got cut short abruptly). All in all, he did okay, but we weren't especially impressed.

exceptional. Every song that DJ Chris played was spot on and he kept the energy up the entire time. It was the party that none of us wanted to leave, and we could have kept dancing for a few more hours. I have never seen my dad dance and somehow even he did not want to leave the dance floor.
Thank you DJ Chris again for making our wedding day the best party we have ever been to. We will be talking about it for the rest of our lives.

understanding the flow of the party), but he also went above and beyond with every request we threw at him without batting an eye. Basketball style introductions for the bridal party? No problem. Helping people solve quests and directing them to the witch in the hedge? Piece of cake.

When searching for DJs, I was looking for a company that would be open to collaboration, as I personally have experience in events and had a specific vision when it came to music. ...
I selected Bright Light because they were not only open but they encouraged my feedback. I provided playlists with more than enough music broken into each part of the wedding. I even had special requests and discussions around culturally specific music I wanted played. I sent all the information and playlists a week in advance. About an hour before the wedding, DJ Chris texted me asking for the links. At the reception, there was music I was sad to not hear, and other music that wasn't on my playlist at all. This just showed me that the playlist wasn't reviewed beforehand. Nevertheless, people did enjoy the music. When it came to MCing the reception, it was a bit awkward. Typically, you should be energetic, engaging with the crowd and playing music in the background.

from the prep, ceremony, reception & dance party - We heard “where did you find him? He’s so good!” Dozens of times. He blew our expectations out the water in every way and was genuinely the highlight of our wedding. We knew when researching vendors that the DJ really sets the tone for each event, and it’s important to find one that isn’t going to just plug and play a Spotify wedding hits playlist but actually mix and craft the music to the couples taste and wishes, and Chris did just that. He is truly a pro and kept the dance party so lively all night, no one sat down and we didn’t even have to make requests. The perfect combination of on brand crowd pleasers, our specific must plays and all the songs in the middle. He captured our vibe perfectly, communicated super well and made us feel so heard and excited. He was so genuine and worked so hard to make it the best night for us - I cannot recommend them enough!

We decided to book Jakub to provide sound for our ceremony, DJ the reception, provide lighting and a photo booth. Once we booked, Jakub provided a document so that we could make sure all of our requests were met. He also was super helpful in areas that we were undecided about or hadn't thought about yet by making recommendations. The night went smoothly and we felt that he listened to our requests and all of our guests had a great time dancing and with the photo booth. Would 10/10 recommend Bright Light Entertainment.

Jakub was incredibly well-organized and receptive throughout the planning process of our wedding. He sent over a document to us so we could plan out everything that Jakub would need to know about, such as emcee responsibilities, music that we wanted to have played at different times throughout the reception, karaoke list, etc. We also worked with Jakub by putting together a list of songs that both my partner and I liked for dancing and a list of songs for karaoke. When it comes to music, our tastes are very eclectic, from dance/electronic music from Giorgio Moroder, to ska, to punk, to reggae, to 70s disco. Jakub was very creative and put together a fantastic playlist of music for dancing and karaoke! Seriously, Jakub has some amazing DJ and remix skills! Jakub knew exactly how to get things set-up at our venue (The Farm: a gathering place) and was very efficient throughout the evening. We so enjoyed working with him and recommend him to everyone! Thank you, Jakub! We had such a wonderful and memorable evening (and all of our friends had the best time doing karaoke!).

A transformer ended up blowing and we lost power during our reception, and Sam didn't let it phase him, he found a bluetooth speaker and kept the party going. standards for what we expected of our DJ. The music for the reception did not meet what we specified in the pre-wedding questionnaire. During our introduction, our DJ forgot to play the song we had specified for our intro. During the special family dances, the timing was incorrect despite us providing time stamps in the questionnaire for what we wanted. We had a specific song listed in our questionnaire to open the dance floor with, and that request was ignored. We also had to ask the DJ to change to a completely different playlist during dinner because the music felt so out of place. Overall, this vendor did not meet our expectations and we wouldn't recommend them.

and Chris.
Why both? Unfortunately Chris had a serious health issue preventing his ability to DJ that occurred last minute, but Jakub fielded the fly ball and absolutely crushed it! From the ceremony music and mic work to the elevated reception, Jakub kept our dance floor sustainably energized. We specifically got multiple compliments that people had never seen a dance floor stay so lively for so long!
Things I would like to specifically point out:
- Excellent timing and intuition during music-driven moments of the evening (examples include the Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances, as well as a special song dedicated to a dearly departed family member)
- Stellar interpretation of our music tastes when fleshing out the evening's playlist (including at least one song I actively had to walk up and ask 'Who is this? I love it!')
- Following up our big day with a playlist of the evening so we could relive the night
Truly couldn't imagine a better experience than we have, especially considering the last-minute hurdle that could have derailed our day significantly (but absolutely did not).

He mixed music and incorporated requests without hesitation or delay. My guests were tired including my groom, stating "Jakub kept us on our feet all night. You wanted to sit to catch your breath and eat, but there was always an epic song around the corner. Jakub's eyes were always on us, even when we ventured out on the grounds, checking in and present in our special day. He was smiling and engaging, and dancing to the tunes that even he loved that we chose. My guests said it was the most fun they have ever had at a wedding, even with some of my guests having been married 19 years. He guided us easily through speeches during dinner where the musical selection matched the atmosphere perfectly of our overall song wishlist.
He has all the correct equipment we needed and did not need any help setting up or settling in.
Jakub was the absolute best ever! He was the shining star of our day. He helped us feel comfortable, energized and even more in love. We thank you Jakub!!!

Bright Light Entertainment did an excellent job for our wedding. They were able to accommodate multiple requests, which included extra microphones and stereo equipment for singers ...
and musicians. They also had different areas set up for music, including the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The music selection was excellent. We were able to choose our favorite songs, which we heard, loved, and appreciated. The best part about the night was how Jakub could feel the crowd and keep the party going! No one wanted to stop dancing! I highly recommend their services! 10/10!!!

ase and make any last-minute changes. We were literally changing songs the night before!
During our reception, he created such a fun atmosphere. All of our guests were dancing all night and he really seemed to get our taste in music and find gems to make sure everyone felt like there was a song they wanted to dance to.
After the night was over, Jakub was even generous enough to give us a ride to the local bar! He's such an amazing person to work with and I would recommend him to anyone!

ify playlist and also worked closely with our planner to host the event as well. I grew up dancing, so I knew that I wanted the reception/dance party to be epic. Jakub did not disappoint, and people are still talking about how much fun they had! If you are getting married in the Asheville area, I recommend hiring Bright Light Entertainment.
