Quick version:
Shane Chanka is not a serious person. He doesn’t take his work seriously. He was unresponsive for months at a time leading up to our wedding and even “lost” our cont...
ract. We couldn’t get ahold of him until 2 weeks before our wedding when he requested the final payment. What couple wants to risk not having their photographer show up on the day of your wedding? I wasn’t willing to take that risk even if it meant I had to borrow more to hire a professional.
This is our experience with Shane Chanka, former(?) co-owner of Brink Media, who made a lot of promises but didn’t follow through which forced us to hire a new photographer/videographer vendor. Do not hire him or rely on any of his services through his various companies. We signed a contract through his new venture called “At the Altar Productions” 8 months before our wedding. He was very responsive up until we paid him the 50% reservation fee. I had concerns going with him since his company had only a few weddings on their instagram and social media. After signing the contract we wanted to setup a check in call to which he gave us times that worked for him. Unfortunately the times didn’t work for us so we asked to reschedule. That’s when we didn’t hear from him for a month so we started googling him and realized he was part of this Brink Media fiasco where we saw all these 1 star reviews.
I assume that’s why he just setup a new company. At that point we reached out again on a Monday. He responds 5 days later saying he’s shooting a wedding can he get back to us on Monday. We made sure to reach out to him on Monday and were able to setup a call with him for that evening. The biggest red flag was when he didn’t remember who we were and that we had signed a contract with him. He actually asked us to send him the contract! Looking back I should have refused and moved on at that point but we got dragged along for a bit longer. We asked him about Brink and he claims he was left with a big backlog of wedding footage that he had to edit because his partner and co-owner left him hanging. He’s a good talker so he managed to provide a reasonable answer and we moved on from that. A month later we try to reach him to sign a vendor form. No response other than a thumbs up and heart emoji. Again, 2 weeks go by and we reminded him. Still no response and our wedding is in 4 weeks. Wtf? 2 weeks before our wedding we made the decision to find another vendor. That very same day that I was typing up an email to Shane requesting my “reservation fee” back he texts us without any apology asking for us to make the final payment! At least he sent the vendor form back huh? Please do not waste your time with him. If you look him up he spends more time making Tik Tok videos than working. He seems enamored by money and cars but also loves to tout his Christian faith. He also seems okay with taking reservation fees and not actually providing the services any normal wedding photographer would.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! My wedding was on December 23rd, 2023 and I have yet to receive my short film. There was very poor communication with the owner, Shane, who repeatedly...

mes, only getting texts back with empty promises and missed dates. Finally in Oct I sent a demand letter and I got all the raw media. The kicker was, someone else’s wedding footage from May was also on the hard drive !! Still no edited video though.
Shane lacks the ability to manage his time or communicate with clients in an honest and reliable way.

I found this vendor through an Instagram ad, which should have been the first red flag, however I had a great call and connection with the owner/videographer, Chris, on our first cool and felt like I could trust him. The pricing seemed reasonable and they included drone footage which I was really excited about because we were having an outdoor wedding at a beautiful estate.
Leading up to the wedding, we had not heard a peep from them and I had already paid. Finally, last minute before the wedding, the owner Chris reached out saying "I'll have the team reach out to you". Someone finally emailed me from his team and my wedding planner was able to arrange to details with them.
Two other videographers did show up and I will say they were nice and did a good job (judging by the short 10 second IG teaser they sent - weeks late I must add), but they owner Chris who I had the call with an who had guaranteed that he would be the one filming my wedding (and the reason why I hired him) did not show and did not say a work why.
I reached out for months after trying to get an answer and he never explained, never apologized, and made no effort to arrange any type of resolution.
On our call, I was told I would receive the full video 3-5 weeks. Our signed agreement said 8-12. Every time I spoke to Shane, the videographer who shot the wedding, and the only one responding at this point, the dates just kept getting pushed back. It has now been over 16 weeks and still nothing.
So to all the beautiful brides out there who just want a great video from a vendor who communicates and cares.. choose someone else. Trust me.

es so fast and watching the video and seeing all the little things we missed was PRICELESS! The people, the emotion, the details, the beauty. Chris and team were professional and creative and easy to work with. The drone footage is a must and I was impressed with all the camera angles. Not one expression of the bride and groom was missed. Watching when they did their vows during first look was amazing. I was in tears!! Even the flower girl’s u-turn down the aisle was unforgettable (she did come back!) Thank you Chris and Brink Media for making these memories last a lifetime!! - Father and Mother of the Bride

rvention for my obsession with this video. Chris is so amazing to work with. He is professional, communicative, thoughtful, and has a great vision. He was calm the day of and made me feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. He was polite and patient when he wanted a specific shot played out and you can really tell he loves his job. I really appreciated that he reached out to my photographer, coordinator, and venue prior to the wedding to make sure everything went seamless the day of. I can’t thank Chris enough for capturing the moments that show all the joy and excitement of the day. Even though I chose his package with 1 videographer, he did not miss a beat. 10/10 would recommend Chris and his team!

ur special day near the beach. With his drone he captured awesome footage of the ocean and cliffside as well as our bridal party getting ready in the room, the first look, the ceremony and the fun reception. When I look at the video, I am transported to our fun day all over again. If you are in the market for a videographer or not sure if you want one, I promise you that you will not regret it and you also won't regret selecting Chris at Brink Media!

with him for the first time, we knew he was the one who would not only make us look good on video, but we also had complete trust in him throughout the entire process. We recorded our vows early so he had clean and crisp audio for the final video and he made that experience so welcoming! On the wedding day, he was more than attentive and made us all feel like movie stars! He and his partner on the day-of were so easy to talk to, which made us feel even more relaxed, which led to even better shots of all of us! The completed cinematic video is beyond beautiful and brings me to tears every time we watch it. He managed to capture and put into video everything we wanted to remember, and so much more!

ce you won't regret this decision! They completely understood what we were looking to capture on our big day and the end result brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it!
Chris is so talented at getting amazing shots and his editing is so well done as he just really tells the story of your wedding day beautifully. And since that can only all happen ...
if everything falls into place well, it’s also important to praise his planning, scheduling, and willingness to work with your schedule. We were incredibly blessed to have his wife the the day of our wedding helping him, but really she stepped up and probably helped me more than my wedding day organizer. She was so amazing and was great at looking for every detail to make the photos and video that much better.
And the results? Amazing! The video isn’t just your typical cut and past with a song over it and the vows read in the background. It’s truly artistic in how he shows the day going back and forth between shots, vows, and songs. By the end, he still smoothly put in a shot of my dad hugging me as he gave me away and it was so artfully smart as it was almost a flashback within the longer movie to the beginning of the wedding day. My husband and I were absolutely floored. Just so beautifully done.
When it comes to such an important day, your only true souvenirs or keepsakes are the photos and videos. Do not use this department to cut costs. This is something I can’t wait to show our children someday and I’m SO THANKFUL we hired Brink media to do a flawless and breathtaking job.
Wonderful picture and video quality! Really loved all the angles they were able to capture using the drone to capture the entire area! Very professional and quick turn around time....
