Communication around alternatives was delayed for weeks, and the trial location was not disclosed until the very last minute, despite multiple follow-ups and the fact that I was traveling specifically for the appointment. I had not heard from them 2 days before my trial, so I reached out. They said they had a location, but they would not disclose it until the day before. I expressed that I was extremely uncomfortable not knowing the new location or how far I would need to drive to get there. When I canceled due to these issues, they admitted they lacked in communicating the details of my appointment to me, but decided to keep half of my deposit, even though they did not render any services. I wish they had refunded my deposit since they did not do any work and had no studio to perform the duties in anyway. This experience was stressful and disappointing during an already high-pressure time. Brides should be aware that communication and clarity around logistics may not meet expectations, and that deposits will be retained even when they personally alter the conditions of your contract. At the end of the day, they should have offered discounted services, fully refunded me, or done something to try to make up for their lack of professionalism. They chose not to, and are instead, choosing to keep money that was meant to go towards my wedding day hair and makeup.
