But I’ll try to keep my story short… 10 months into my engagement and 3 months before what was supposed to be a small wedding, my fiancé and I made the difficult decision to elope instead. The wedding planning process became nothing short of a nightmare in the mix of a bunch of family and job issues, some of which was going to separate us for 6 months and put our wedding date in question as well. Even after expressing we needed help, we were not getting the support we needed from either families (not speaking financially which we would never expect, but physically and emotionally)… we were becoming miserable. We were literally about to drop money on top of what we had already fronted ourselves just to continue to be unhappy which we decided is not how our wedding experience should be. As a “bride” I even had a huge gloomy season because I felt like none of the women in my family were showing any interest or excitement towards this time in my life at all. There was no pre-wedding celebrations, no talk of wanting to find the dress (which I found alone) or about getting ready for the day at all. I felt like I was missing out on one of the once in a lifetime experiences of becoming a woman, most likely because I was not the first in the family to get married so I think they were unintentionally jaded. So when my fiancé and I made the decision to elope, I decided to celebrate this time in my life myself by scheduling a boudoir photoshoot that would hopefully make me feel more like a bride before the big day and double up as a wedding gift 🎁 HERE’S WHERE BROOKE MADE MAGIC HAPPEN: I was very nervous going into that photoshoot because it definitely pushed me beyond my comfort zone. I dabbled in photography as a hobby over 8 years, but very rarely find myself on THAT side of the camera… especially in that fashion. Brooke took those nerves away in a matter of minutes and I felt like I was just hanging out and talking with an old friend! She knew just how to instruct me to pose to get the perfect angles and gave me sneak peeks of the pictures along the way to boost my confidence. AND LET ME TELL YOU… from someone who has had insecurities for years, she made me feel like a million bucks. I couldn’t believe it was me! Most importantly I got to share my fiancé’s proposal/ our love story during the shoot which reignited that spark of excitement towards our big day that I never should have let go of for anything. What matters about weddings is not the wedding, but the marriage itself! I left that photoshoot with an entirely new outlook and was tickled pink with excitement that followed me through the week and even led to celebrating with a couple of our closest friends! I mean it when I say that I feel like Brooke saved my wedding experience. I just received my edited pictures today and was completely overjoyed, I CAN’T WAIT to give them to my soon to be husband on our special day… which if I could, I would without a doubt take Brooke with us to capture that special day and moment as well. When we first met Brooke for our engagement shoot, it was like we had been friends with her forever! She is so sweet, and so kind and truly wants what YOU want. My husband and I were against doing the "first look" however, Brooke confidently ensured us why doing the "first look" was so important. WOW! was Brooke absolutely right. Our wedding day was jam packed crazy and we are SO thankful we did the first look. It gave us extra time to capture those AMAZING shots of me and my hubby. The day of our wedding Brooke was professional and handled my crazy obnoxious family very well! We weren't allowed to take pictures at our venue or the hotel my husband was staying at (lots of other wedding that day!). Brooke quickly found us a spot to capture lots of photos of us and our families. She also found other spots and gave us suggestions. We were worried the cars in the background would show, however, the pictures came out AMAZING! We are SO thankful that they did. She made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera and was able to capture all of our precious moments and emotions throughout the day! If you are looking for a Boudoir Photographer, again, stop reading, and book her. The day I had scheduled my boudoir, it was overcast and gloomy. I wanted to get them done at Black's Beach and was unsure if the weather was going to let us move forward. I had messaged her throughout the day and decided to go for it. She met me there and she trekked down the hill and got right in to it. She was unbelievably encouraging (sometimes a girl needs a little confidence boost ;) ) and knew exactly where to go and how to pose. She was able to capture photos that I never thought were possible. I felt sexy and silly and beautiful in my own skin. She was so committed to getting the most perfect images that she laid in the sand and by the end of it her shoes were soaked. For those of you who are hesitant on taking Boudoir photos, don't be. Brooke was able to show me a side of me that I have never seen and taught me to embrace who I am and love the skin I'm in. It was an unforgettable day! It is so reassuring to know that there are still people in the world like Brooke. Someone who is there for you. Someone who can capture a moment unlike anyone else can. Someone who listens to what you want and does whatever she needs to do to get it done. Whether it's laying in the sand or saying "I Do", Brooke is worth every penny. s no better investment than Brooke. I came with a friend to her boudoir shoot and fell in love with brooke’s ability to put people immediately at ease and bring out the best in them. She immediately can see your best quality (both physically and personality wise) and knows how to highlight it, make you shine, and feel like a million bucks. She delivered the same amount of magic for my shoot. She showed me glimpses of her camera along the way (which WOWed me. If she can make a raw, unedited snapshot look amazing, you know the final product is going to blow you away)… AND IT DID! She even sent me some sneak peeks before delivering the final products, which by the way, her turnaround time is unheard of. I loved brooke from the first time meeting her and you’ll quickly learn from her Instagram that she backs up all that talent with so much body positivity, a fierce advocate for loving yourself, and seeing so much good in every person she meets.
