Such a great time!! Emily was so welcoming to my mother and I during our appointment. She remembered which style of dress I was looking for, complimented my style and image, and was overall so wonderful to have there. I loved their selection of dresses, and Emily works very hard to make sure dresses are affordable for brides. I didn’t end up finding my forever dress with Emily, but she went the extra mile, trying to find other styles of my dress online, and even looking at other salons selections. She even said she would keep an eye out for something specific I was looking for. Overall, I had such a great time at Brooklyn Bridal & Prom with Emily. She does a great job and runs her business professionally! Thank you!!
Found my forever dress here and it was perfect! Service was amazing, as well as the personalized boutique experience!
This salon gives top notch service! As the bride, you are the only bride there, along with your entourage. The sample dresses fit and make you feel like a bride, so you really feel like a bride.
There aren't many recent reviews on here, but Brooklyn Bridal was fantastic! It's such a personal experience, with you being the only ones in the shop. Emily was very accommodating and answered any questions. Would definitely recommend!!
had a perfect experience buying my dress here. it's cute, reasonable, and has great customer service.
My mom and I decided to go here on a whim and I am very glad I did! I found a beautiful, unique gown that was well within my budget! they sales lady was not pushy, found dresses in my style, and was overall helpful! We liked it so much that our bridesmaids will be buying dresses from there as well!
The moment I googled "bridal shops near Jackson, Mi", and this gorgeous little boutique popped up I knew I found my dress before looking. I was so utterly happy with my experience there I was sad when it was over and I found the dress! I even found my wedding coordinator, Janet Kapa (former owner), there! I not only found my dress, but a friend. The selection was just right, not too much and not too little. The professionalism and one-on-one experience you get there is outstanding. No bride wants to feel like "just another bride", and I never got that feeling once. I love how the boutique was maintained and felt so cozy and welcoming. Loved, loved my experience.
it is a very small boutique, but its amazing! They have a lot of cheap dresses that are great quality. Make sure you have a good seamstress because the one they suggest is flaky.
My Dress was Beautiful and i got alot of nice Complaments on my dress.
Janet is wonderful! I first met her at a bridal fair and although they were a little out of the way for me. It was worth the drive. I knew that i could count on her to make sure that my groom and groomsman had the perfect tux! She is wonderful to work with!
One of the most stressful parts of planning a wedding can be finding the perfect dress. About a year and a half before my wedding, I wanted to do something bridal...so I went out and bought The Knot magazine. Going through it my husband and myself found my dream dress. At the time my groom didn't know that was my pick, and he wouldn't find out til the wedding. I made it my mission to find the dress, and I did at Brooklyn Bridal and Prom. I had a wonderful experience, everyone was very helpful. If you set up a visit you have the shop to yourself, they really did make you feel important. About a year after I bought my dress I went back to Brooklyn Bridal and Prom for my veil (I had a long engagement) I known it was a great place, when the owner not only remember who I was and what dress I had, but had pulled veils to match.. again we had the whole store to ourselves. The best part about Brooklyn Bridal and Prom was the cost. After looking the dress up I was expecting to paying $1500, however I paid a little over $700.
Not only is Janet amazing but she helped me find my dream dress! I was looking for my dream dress for months!! Janet did some searching and then called me up and told me she had found it. I Went to the shop the next day and saw the picture...IT WAS PERFECT!!! I got it on the "loaner program" ( she gets a dress for a small fee and u try it, if u love it its yours if not she will try again) when it came in i almost cried! I knew as soon as i put it on it was my dress. Janet will bend over backwards to make you not only look but feel beautiful. She has a great staff and a great sense of style. She knows what will make you stand out from all the other brides and it won't cost you an arm and a leg. I would recommend Brooklyn Bridal to everyone!!
I don't even want to give one star... I was referred to brooklyn bridal because i was in search of a one of a kind dress, imagine my disappointment when i was given an option of four dresses to try on:c I called in advance and described what I had hoped to find, I even had a picture reference... when i showed up she had to look up the picture. After I expressed how I was looking for something unique , the dress she pushed on me was one used in all her advertising. Then while I tried on the small selection she had to offer,(inbetween her leaving to answer the phone) she tried pushing a veil on me. I had already decided I didn't want a veil and when i told her this she said "you'll look like you're wearing a prom dress if you don't wear a veil" needless to say my experience at brooklyn bridal was an epic fail.
Janet is amazing you make an appointment and she is yours to help you find your dream dress. Very sweet and professional.
When we first went to Brooklyn Bridal, we didn't find anything I liked, but then Janet, the owner, picked my dress...I loved it. She calls the shop a "full service" shop, but in reality, she just gives referrals to people who provide other services. I asked about alterations, and she told me I was on my own for alterations, but could give me someone's card. When I went back for my fitting once my dress came in, Janet was extremely rude and pushy, bossed my fiance around while he was picking out tuxes (we didn't end up getting them there!), insulted me on a piece of jewelry I had gotten from there (the clasp didn't work right on a broach I had gotten, and she told me it was "user error"), and then she didn't even put me in my dress. She had an assistant do it, and the girl had NO clue how to lace up a wedding dress! It was terrible and I would NEVER go back to that shop if I had to. She made me feel like she didn't care about me now that I had paid her in full.
A friend of mine got her bridesmaids dresses there, and Janet actually ordered the wrong size for one of the girls, and had the nerve to tell the girl that she must have gained weight!
I loved dress shopping there and got great service. The lady really listened and knew what I had in mind. I didn't think I was going to actually find a dress that day but, I did.Originally I had an appointment at Petoskey Bridal Salon and had another dress in mind I loved from somewhere else and was waiting for the dress to arrive from California, so we called them to compare the dresses and they didn't seem to know anything about my appointment with them even though I had talked to them twice. The dress at Brooklyn Bridal and Prom was so pretty on and was such a good deal to refuse. I was very happy with my dress!
I own my own business and was worried how I would raise 2 kids, run my business AND plan a wedding on top of it all! No worries though Janet did EVERYTHING! I mean everything! All the phone calls, emails, contracts, even tasting the food! I would have NEVER been able to enjoy my wedding day without her! She was still at my wedding when my husband and I left, making sure that everything was taken care of at the venue. Thank you Janet! Tim and I will be forever greatful!
Janet was very willing to please. The shop is small but she carries unique gowns at reasonable prices. I tried on hundreds of gowns and she had the only one in the color I wanted (bronze). I just loved my dress!
This is the best hometown shop ever. you get great prices and service and reliable consistent service. I loved this and highly recommened this to everyone!
I had a pretty hard time picking out a wedding dress and actually sticking with it, because I liked so many of them. Janet and I had talked about the things that I was looking for and was not looking for. She suggested that I try on a specific gown and as soon as I did, i fell in love with it. She couldn't have picked another gown as perfect as this one. My wedding was 9-10-11 and that was the day I felt like the most beautiful woman ever. Janet I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to listen to me and also for your patience. I highly recommend Brooklyn Bridal and Prom to every bride that I talk to.
Not only is Janet AMAZING, she works so hard for you to find your perfect, dream dress. She is so wonderful and so considerate. Not only does she have dresses but everything else you can think of!
I originally went with David's Bridal. But came to Brooklyn Bridal to look for bridesmaids dresses. I ended up trying on bridal gowns instead. She has built in bras/corset type deals in her dresses- which are AMAZING! Sucks you in, and smooths you out with great support. Everything is built in.
I found my dress at a trunk show at Brooklyn Bridal. I knew it was the one, it was gorgeous and I received a good amount off my dress because of the trunk show. Janet has a beautiful room for her customers to try on dresses, huge mirrors, great lighting.
She also referred me to the best person for alterations- she lives in Jackson. She was SO CHEAP, so fast, and so nice as well.
I would recommend Janet's Brooklyn Bridal and Prom to everyone and anyone. There is a huge selection there, and Janet is willing to go out of her way to please anyone. Customer service is amazing, and you don't find that a lot these days.
I never thought I could love a dress SO MUCH!
