Taking dance lessons before our wedding was something we were unsure about-especially since I was much more excited about it than my husband-but looking back, it was one of the best decisions we made. Not only were we so happy with the final result-our first dance was unique, fun, and simple-but we also had a great time connecting while learning it. My husband and I originally purchased the 10 hour package for our first dance for our wedding, but we had such a great experience we ended up purchasing more lessons even after we finished our routine! We worked with Alyona and she was truly an amazing dance instructor. She was so fun to work with and was always able to break down the steps and explain the moves so clearly, we couldn't have been happier with the results. Alina was an amazing teacher! My fiancé and I| were able to get a full wedding dance routine down in less than 10 lessons. The instruction was super clear and fit our comfort and dance level. Good mixture of technical and feel. Will definitely come back to learn more styles of dance!

I guarantee that without our dance lessons with Alyona, my husband and I would've absolutely looked like deers in headlights for our First Dance. We LOVED working with Alyona, and we knew that by the end of our package of 3 lessons (2 group + 1 private), we would've benefited from 3 additional private lessons with her to knock out a choreographed dance for our chosen song. She was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and quick to point out where we may have gone wrong. At the same time, she kept it light and fun. We started to treat these lessons as little dates that got us excited for the big day. I can't say that we necessarily remembered everything on the day of (totally our own faults as we didn't practice enough), but we felt a lot more confident in getting through the song and really grateful we decided to do these lessons.

My finance and I did a 10-hour session pack with Marius to prepare for our first dance at the wedding. Marius, our dance instructor, was patient, funny, and simply wonderful throughout. He worked some magic with our choreography for the wedding and we couldn't be happier with the results. My fiancé and I will be continuing our dance lessons with Marius after the wedding, this time with some Salsa! Highly recommend Brooklyn Dance Lessons!

My wife and I had a fantastic time choreographing and rehearsing our wedding dance through Brooklyn Dance Lessons. We only had five lessons, but even at the end of that short time we had built enough confidence and acumen to practice the steps on our own. The dance was a huge hit with our friends and family and we can’t thank our instructor, Alyona, enough for her lessons!

This dance studio is the best!. We learned our first dance for our wedding in 2 sessions. Could've used more but our timing was very limited since we did this last minute. Definitely go to them. Olga is a great teacher

My wife and I went to Brooklyn Dance for a one-time lesson a week before our wedding (for the first dance at our Reception). The lesson was great - just what we needed!

Everyone who works here is super nice and very knowledgeable in many dance styles. We worked with Alina and Emily on our wedding dance. We started by learning a little of several different dance styles (bachata, hustle, salsa), and then managed to go from not knowing much salsa to having an entire routine. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to do social dance classes or to learn a routine for their wedding dance.

We bought a 10-class wedding package and really loved our time with Alina! She was fantastic--very versatile in working with our song (which was not easy) as well as thoughtful and responsive to what we wanted out of our dance and style. Cannot recommend her highly enough! We cannot say enough positive things about Brooklyn Dance Lessons! When our wedding was five weeks away, my husband and I decided that we would really benefit from at least a couple dance lessons. We weren’t sure if this would be a possibility, but the dance studio suggested a 5-hour package, and right from the start, it was so helpful in teaching us key steps and moves for our dance. Additionally, the studio was very accommodating when it came to scheduling the lessons. Alyona was a wonderful and very patient teacher. My husband and I were really starting from square one, but Alyona was so helpful in demonstrating the specific moves and then providing us with actionable feedback. We left our five lessons feeling very prepared for our wedding dance! We would highly recommend Brooklyn Dance Lessons!

My wife and I spent ten hours learning how to dance together with the help of Alina, who was super enthusiastic and helped us with every step! We were able to put together a really choreography. She was super detailed and showed us many different ways to deliver our vision for our first dance. The studio is well lit, the pictures and videos after each lesson were super useful, and we also enjoyed the group dance exhibitions to help us practice.

Alina was absolutely amazing! My partner and I are getting married this week and we waited until the last minute to schedule dance lessons. Thankfully Alina is such a great teacher. This dance class experience was perfect for us. I was pretty hesitant about taking a dance class leading up to our wedding, and my fiancée was really excited to do it so we tried it out. Alina was our instructor and she was fantastic. She was able to help us find a form rather than fully choreographed dance, but was obviously capable of doing that if we wanted. She made us feel extremely comfortable the whole time, and instead of focusing on looking at my feet, Alina got us to a place where I was able to just look into my fiancées eyes and smile. Truly a 5-star experience preparing for our wedding.

We got lessons here before our wedding and it was such an amazing experience for a few reasons. First of all, I'm personally a pitiful dancer and it was obvious on session 1. By the wedding day, I looked like I had spent years perfecting the art. Second, the classes were so much fun. It was something we looked forward to all week and plan to continue- never thought I'd say that! Last but not least is the team is amazing. From the owners to the instructors, what a great group of people!

I could not speak any higher of Brooklyn Dance Lessons, specifically their instructor Alonya. She smashed our dance out of the park and made us look like total professionals. My guests said it was one of the highlights of the night.

My husband and I got married at Foxfire Mountain House in the Catskills, NY on 10/22/2022. We started dance lessons in July with Emily. After 15 years together, we never really danced together and were SO nervous. We had no idea how to dance. I bought 5 lessons for us to learn some moves to Dancing in the Moonlight by King Harvest. I had very low expectations. Emily was incredible. We looked forward to our lessons with her. She took thorough notes so even if there was a large space between classes, we picked right back up where we left off. I ended up buying three more lessons that we took right after each other the two weeks leading up to the wedding and we practically had choreographed the entire thing. we were amazing all thanks to our lessons. one of my favorite memories of the planning process <3

We are not dancers and hesitantly decided to take lessons before our wedding. It was THE BEST! Alyona was our teacher and was so good. She understood that we weren't looking to be on Dancing With the Stars -- we simply didn't want to embarrass ourselves at our wedding. Not only did we NOT embarrass ourselves, we did quite well! She advised us on how to do a complete dance, gave the best advice and was so kind and helpful throughout the prcocess. Of course we listened to her advice to PRACTICE a bunch on our own time, which is probably why we figured it out. It was also a really fun thing to do together leading up to our wedding. We would highly recommend this place pre-wedding or really just for fun. I think we will end up taking lessons there in the future because they are so good!

My husband and I had such a great time learning steps for our first dance here at Brooklyn dance lessons! When we were looking for a place on where to learn, we were nervous and conflicted. However, taking to Olga really helped us relax and plan for next steps. She paired us with instructor Audrey and we absolutely adored working with Audrey! She was really patient with us as we were really new to dancing and she really took care of us to ensure we were having fun, and more important we were safe and comfortable with what we were doing. Emily from Brooklyn Dance Lessons was absolutely amazing to work with! When we started, we weren't one hundred percent sure what we wanted and Emily help keep us on track even as our vision changed. She showed us a variety of different styles and helped us focus on a mix of two that felt perfect for us. She is a kind, enthusiastic and patient teacher, even if you have absolutely zero dance experience. Her attitude is positive and upbeat which set the tone for every lesson and eliminated any nerves we were feeling. We settled on a semi-choreographed routine and felt entirely comfortable and happy on our wedding day. Emily also worked with us to establish a great timeline with our end goal in mind to ensure that we got the most out of each lesson. It could not have gone better!

The dance we worked on with Brooklyn Dance Lessons and Emily, our choreographer, was easily the highlight of our wedding. We are so glad that we invested the time and money into this centerpiece of the reception, because it is a memory that every wedding guest references and it made our day that much more special. Emily was kind, patient, creative and fun. She came up with exactly what we wanted for our dance and knew how to meet us where we were with our dancing abilities. We did the 20 hour lessons, attending almost every week from February to July. This was also a nice way for us to connect as a couple in this time before our wedding. The dance studio is pretty and well maintained and they really consider all the aspects of a wedding dance, preparing us to practice in front of others, practice with "audience noise" and power through other distractions. I highly recommend Brooklyn Dance Lessons!!

My wife and I took dance lessons at Brooklyn Dance Lessons for our wedding, and our experience was really great. Alyona was very patient and and was an excellent teacher. I have no formal dance experience (my wife had minimal experience) and we were able to learn an excellent and beautiful routine. Because of our lessons, we nailed the first dance during the wedding. I would highly recommend, and will definitely sign up again if there are any other occasions that require formal dance routines.

My (now) wife and I went to Brooklyn Dance for private lessons to prepare for our wedding. We started a bit late, so were only able to fit in six one-hour lessons. In that short time Musa, our teacher, was able to prepare us for our two first dance songs which we had already chosen. We learned the fox trot for the first dance and bachata for the second. I had zero experience with either, and am a terrible dancer. Musa was exceptional at teaching the dance, giving feedback, and making us laugh. Booking was easy and relatively flexible to meet our schedule. The space was quiet, private, clean, and perfect size for dance lessons. Highly recommend Musa as a teacher, and Brooklyn Dance overall.

We loved working with Alyona on our choreographed wedding dance! We selected the 10-hour package and felt totally confident and prepared headed into our reception. We looked forward to our weekly dance lessons and felt supported the whole time - Alyona always asked if we were comfortable with the moves, frequently asked if we had questions, and gave the best tips and guidance.

Brooklyn Dance Lessons was an incredible place to learn our wedding dance! We enjoyed every minute of our classes, despite coming to the studio for our first lesson with dismal dancing skills (at best!) and low confidence in our abilities. Our instructor Alyona was knowledgeable, patient, kind, and fun. We laughed a lot during our sessions. She made sure the steps and the feel of the dance were tailored to us, and empowered us to add our own goofy elements. The administrative component of scheduling our lessons was seamless, as well, thanks to Olga and her team. On our wedding day, I think our guests had a blast watching our dance, and we got many compliments afterwards. We couldn't recommend Brooklyn Dance Lessons more!

My husband and I found Brooklyn Dance Lessons through The Knot and we were lucky we did! We reached out in March 2022 and quickly signed on for two group lessons at the end of that month to learn the basics of wedding dance—covering things like steps, posture and framing, spins, and dips. Then we had 5 private lessons with the same lovely instructor, Emily, as the group lessons. We were able to gain enough skills and techniques from the total 7 lessons to put together a simple but lovely first wedding dance that wow-ed our guests and upped our confidence. We loved our time spent at the studio and would certainly return to learn other types of dance to use at future weddings and social occasions :)

My husband and I had a great experience with Brooklyn Dance Lessons. First off--we didn't leave much time between when we started and our wedding, but Olga and Musa were very flexible and accommodating, even when we got COVID right before our first lesson. Musa taught my husband and me the hustle. We were looking for a dance where we could switch off being leads--and this was perfect. We learned a number of fun moves, a couple "signature moves," and got some video recordings after each session to see our selves progressing :). My husband and I were gifted 5 dance lessons prior to our wedding and we purchased 5 more. Alyona was an amazing instructor and we went from barely being able to do a box step to really wowing all of our guests at our wedding! We chose a song that is less common for a wedding dance and Alyona came up with a fully custom two minute dance for us full of dips and drama. We looked forward to attending our lesson each week as it was so fun! And now we have some great steps we can put into action any time dancing is happening. My husband had zero dance experience and taking these classes really gave him confidence to join me out on the floor. The studio is cute and spacious and near the subway for very easy access. Neither of us are particularly coordinated and we'd never taken dance lessons together so we were a little nervous; with only a month and a half to go before our wedding, Brooklyn Dance Lessons helped us put together a routine to our favorite song and we had a blast doing it! Every lesson felt low-key, relaxed, welcoming, and fun; we can't thank them enough for helping us look like we knew what we were doing on our big day.

My husband and I took the Wedding Dance Cycle with Audrey and loved it! We wanted some simple pointers for our first dance, and Audrey helped us choreograph the basic steps we learned to our song of choice. The sessions were light and fun, and we went into our first dance much more confident than we otherwise would have.

Audrey from the dance studio is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. My husband and I had no dance experience prior so we definitely knew we wanted to learn something simple for our wedding. But Audrey was so great and customized our choreography which turned out so elegant and beautiful! We learned so many techniques and she made every lesson fun. Communication with Olga was easy, they were always responsive and professional. The process was such an amazing memory for me and my husband.

Olga and her team were fantastic! We used the introductory package to just learn some basic steps - we didn't want anything super fancy, just to not look super awkward. Audrey worked wonders - she taught us a number of great steps that made us feel super comfortable, and a few turns that worked great with our song!

Taking dance lessons was kind of a last minute choice for my fiance and I, but it turned out to be some of the best money we spent at the wedding. We opted to do a riff on a waltz and Alyona, our teacher, was so fun and patient with us as we learned. With all the craziness of the wedding, it was such a joy to have an hour a week to just do something fun not to mention our guests were so impressed with the finished product! Thank you!

Great instructor helped us put together a beautiful dance with relatively little experience on a very short time frame. They helped us with basics as well as choreography and were very flexible to our needs. Would highly recommend.

We put off taking dence lessons until the very last minute and they were still able to accommodate us. We took 20 lessons in two months and ended up with a dance that blew everyone away. The teacher was always punctual and when we started our lessons it was clear that she had put a lot of thought into the choreography. There were some things we had to change due to flexibility issues, ability, or personal preference, but they were flexible and worked with us to get it perfect. Most importantly, when the wedding day came we nailed it!

Brooklyn Dance Lessons was great! They were encouraging to us non-dancers. They listened to use and used our input to make a plan accordingly. I'd definitely recommend them.

The wedding dance instruction at BDL was phenomenal and truly effective. My husband and I took only 2 classes and were able to master the choreography for our first dance through practice (which quickly became muscle memory) and we had a successful and joyous first dance. I would highly recommend booking with the talented teachers here!

Olga and her team are absolutely wonderful to work with. Our wedding dance was PERFECT and going to our dance lessons was by far the best part of the wedding planning process. We used Brooklyn Dance Lessons to prepare for our first dance for our August 2021 honeymoon. We had the BEST experience. Not only did we have so much fun, we also learned a lot. Our wedding guests could not stop complimenting how impressive our dance was, so it was well worth it!

My husband and I planned our wedding in only a few months, so we were a little late to the game when it came to dance lessons. When I contacted Brooklyn Dance Lessons a couple weeks before our wedding, they were able to fit us in for several lessons to teach us the basics to make us feel more comfortable on our wedding day. We went in with limited to no dance training and after 5 lessons felt comfortable and confident ballroom dancing! Took 7 or so lessons here for our first dance. Our instructor was patient and kind and attentive. We loved our moves and got great compliments from our guests afterward. Highly recommend!

I personally am not a fan of dancing and never found it enjoyable; however, I knew my wife always wanted to do more than just a high school slow dance for her wedding day. As a Valentine 2020 gift, I decided to surprise her with dance lessons leading into our July 2020 wedding. After purchasing the package, Olga contacted us to discuss our level of experience, song choices, dance styles, and helped to plan out the lesson schedule so we'd have our own individualized routine ready to perform on our special day. Then COVID happened and threw our well-laid plans out the window. Brooklyn Dance Lessons was extremely accommodating and graciously offered to extended the expiration date of the lessons; however, despite big wedding cancelled, we decided we still wanted to do a small backyard ceremony with our immediate family (and with extended family and friends on Zoom) and still wanted to do a choreographed dance. Olga was 100% on-board and was able to help us create a small routine via Zoom that impressed all of our guests both in-person and online. When we were able to finally have our big ceremony in 2021, we decided we wanted to do another routine and Olga was there again to help us. This time we were able to do in-person lessons and needless to say, her coaching was even better. Her attention to detail and use of visual, tactile, and verbal cues made it easy to learn even some of the more complicated steps in our routine. She was also incredibly flexible with scheduling and did a good job of communicating between lessons. The drive with pictures and videos of our lessons was extremely helpful in making practice between sessions easy. I'm still not particularly fond of dancing, but at least now I know how. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for dance lessons (for weddings or otherwise) to look into Brooklyn Dance Lessons.

Great space for lessons. Great energy, expertise, patience level, ambiance, flexibility... With six lessons was able to perform desired wedding dance, with no dance floor experience prior.
