Taking dance lessons with Brooklyn Dance Lessons was easily one of the best parts of our wedding planning experience! We chose the 3 one hour lessons package, which was more than enough time to put together and perfect a first dance Our instructor was Alina and she was helpful, supportive, and professional. On our wedding night, our guests were raving about our dance!! Especially the twirls, dips, and the epic lift at the end. If you’re considering whether or not to take dance lessons before your wedding, we highly recommend taking the leap and doing it with Brooklyn Dance Lessons. It ended up being such a fun part of the wedding planning process (which can be insanely stressful) We turned each lesson into a date, which made the experience so much more fun. The studio is surrounded by plenty of bars, restaurants, and coffee shops where you can debrief after each lesson.

Hi, my name is Olga! I’m the founder of Brooklyn Dance Lessons. I’ve been living and teaching in New York for more than six years, and I’m happy to share my experience with you ! But first, I want to take a moment to introduce myself. Born and raised in Saint Petersburg, Russia, I’ve been a practicing ballroom dancer for over 20 years. I studied all major styles of ballroom and social dance as well as rhythmic gymnastics, and I’ve participated in over 200 prestigious competitions. I have a long record of achievements as both a ballroom dancer and teacher in New York.

The studio is in Gowanus, just a few blocks from Subway and is in a nice new building with an elevator that opens right up into the space. we knew that by the end of our package of 3 lessons (2 group + 1 private), we would've benefited from 3 additional private lessons with her to knock out a choreographed dance for our chosen song. She was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and quick to point out where we may have gone wrong. At the same time, she kept it light and fun. We started to treat these lessons as little dates that got us excited for the big day. I can't say that we necessarily remembered everything on the day of (totally our own faults as we didn't practice enough), but we felt a lot more confident in getting through the song and really grateful we decided to do these lessons.
