At Brooklyn Dance Lessons boutiques, we provide a relaxing and fun environment, refreshments, shoe storage, and some underskirts to properly practice and dance for your big day. Our lessons will help you prepare a beautiful dance while giving you a much-needed break in the middle of the craziness of wedding planning. We are here to make this process easier for you and help you shine.
As your partner in this momentous journey, we begin with a consultation call designed to go over questions that will enable us to create a customized program tailored to your needs and experience. Our belief is that couples learn faster and better when they don’t share the dance floor. This means you get to own the entire dance floor. Plus, we found that couples like that the experience is private, cozy, and dedicated just to them.

I’m the founder of Brooklyn Dance Lessons. I’ve been living and teaching in New York for more than six years, and I’m happy to share my experience with you !
But first, I want to take a moment to introduce myself.
Born and raised in Saint Petersburg, Russia, I’ve been a practicing ballroom dancer for over 20 years. I studied all major styles of ballroom and social dance as well as rhythmic gymnastics, and I’ve participated in over 200 prestigious competitions. I have a long record of achievements as both a ballroom dancer and teacher in New York.

lessons we gained so much confidence. Sarah made a very fun choreography for an Orville Peck song we picked, and we were excited to learn new moves every lesson. It was also a really fun activity to do as a couple planning a million other things for our wedding.

At Brooklyn Dance Lessons, we worked with Alyona during 10 sessions; she's amazing. We went from zero-experience, nervous dancers to being confident and having a blast at the dance floor during our wedding. She put together a salsa choreography for the song we chose. The lessons themselves turned out to be one of the most fun date nights we had during wedding planning too. Highly recommend!
The admin team was also very responsive and helpful throughout, we ended up rescheduling several lessons because of travel and that was never an issue.

The studio is in Gowanus, just a few blocks from Subway and is in a nice new building with an elevator that opens right up into the space. We enjoyed it so much that we extended the package an additional 2 Hours which gave us time to add some moves to the routine. Would highly recommend and look forward to going back to learn something new.

we knew that by the end of our package of 3 lessons (2 group + 1 private), we would've benefited from 3 additional private lessons with her to knock out a choreographed dance for our chosen song. She was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and quick to point out where we may have gone wrong. At the same time, she kept it light and fun. We started to treat these lessons as little dates that got us excited for the big day. I can't say that we necessarily remembered everything on the day of (totally our own faults as we didn't practice enough), but we felt a lot more confident in getting through the song and really grateful we decided to do these lessons.

She made us feel extremely comfortable the whole time, and instead of focusing on looking at my feet, Alina got us to a place where I was able to just look into my fiancées eyes and smile. Truly a 5-star experience preparing for our wedding.
