As she was decorating Jason came in with a attitude going on about how trashy her catering choice was . Mission bbq did a excellent job. He made rude remarks to guests about the choice of drinks they would order. Not sure how many times he threw out the f word . Very unprofessional and unpleasant

ack of communication and professionalism was extremely disappointing. I read a couple reviews from other brides who had mentioned Jason being a problem, but I didn’t think I would have to experience that myself. Bob was awesome when we booked the venue last year and very helpful and reassuring that everything is all about what the bride wants. The only true communication I had was emailing a woman named Gretchen (who I never even met once) who was asking me questions about total counts, timeline of events, etc. she assured me that jason would be at the venue on Thursday for rehearsal before the wedding if we had any questions, and that the guys’ room to get ready in would be completed prior to the wedding in May 8th. (They are building a new room) Then came the most frustrating part. The morning of my wedding. We arrived at the venue and was immediately bombarded by another gentleman named Bob telling me that there was a malfunction with the furnace. I was understanding of this, but you probably should not come to the bride upon arrival to state “we have a little malfunction.” Then after being told 4 times that the guys’ room would be completed over the last 2 months including 3 days prior to my wedding day, we were told on the wedding day that it wasn’t done. And when I say this I mean jason told us in the most unprofessional way possible, basically saying he couldn’t get anyone to work and was very defensive when I confronted him. I will not go into detail but I will say the F bomb was dropped by jason multiple times about another vendor, and I had to walk away from him before I exploded. For paying a large amount of money for this venue I expected more professionalism, communication, and respect when asking questions. I was lied to about the guys’ room being done; which in the grand scheme of things was ok because there was still a space for them. However I did not appreciate being lied to and would have been a lot more understanding had they just told me it wouldn’t be completed in time. That being said once my mother told jason to not show himself around me for the rest of the day, everything fell into place and it was a perfect day. I will warn you that if you are a very detail oriented, or require a lot of communication and organization to beware of this and possibly hire a day of coordinator to handle everything for you. Thankfully I had the best group of people to handle it all for me after our slight altercation upon arrival. I really hope that they can get it together because no owner of a venue should ever treat a paying customer the way we were treated early on that day. Jason never apologized to me personally but he apologized to my dad and husband. Like I said though, we ended up having a beautiful day and things were made sure to run smoothly following this. But sadly I will never forget the way we were treated upon arrival.

er place to get married. We loved that the ceremony & reception were right across from one another and that we were able to take gorgeous pictures on the grounds.

he chapel. It is so simple yet beautiful, especially since we were able to open up the doors. We also loved how everything was all in one place. So the guests just had to walk across the drive to the barn for the cocktail hour while we took pictures. It is also breath taking the pictures you can take on the property. The only down side was we requested a golf cart in order to travel to take pictures on the property and there wasn't one ready for us. So trekking up and down hill on a farm in heels was definitely not ideal. We did love that we were able to bring our own caterer! But overall our night was a fairy tale and that would not have possible without this beautiful venue.

d accommodating. I was a little weary to work with John just based on the reviews I had read from others. John was absolutely fantastic and was there to answer any questions and help out with whatever was needed. He was easy going and made a stressful weekend much easier to navigate! We also rented out the farmhouse and lodge for the entire weekend and that was GREAT! One thing I will say that was kind of a pain was not being able to use the driveway from the lodge and farm house directly to barn area. You have to hop back out on 44 and come all the way back around.

He answered every question and was so happy and nice. Throughout the process we communicated with Gretchen and she was super insightful and helpful. Then on the actual weekend of the wedding you have to deal with Jason. He was unorganized and unprofessional. I had the Saturday wedding (there was a Friday, Saturday and a Sunday weekend). Jason and I had agreed that I could come into the bottom portion of the barn to get ready prior to the usual time of 9. When I showed up the morning of my wedding with my bridesmaids and hair stylist the cleaners were not aware that they were supposed to have that area ready early and when we confronted Jason he just cussed me out. I had heard he was difficult to work with from other sources but didn’t believe it because of how awesome everyone else was. On the brookside farm grounds are 2 other houses that you can rent out owned by another gentleman, John. John was also helpful and easy to work with. However, there are issues between John and Jason as well so if you rent the lodge and farmhouse from John, you cannot use the drive way to go right to the barn, you have to go back out to 44 and up and around. They also run a monopoly on the bar, and Jason and Toni are both difficult to work with if you want to change a beer selection. The actual bartenders that night were great! Just the management in whole needs evaluated. All in all, I would not use this venue if I could redo my wedding day because of the treatment received the weekend of.

The barn is absolutely stunning and it is always improving and we received so many compliments on our location! I also appreciate they are full service (providing set up/tear down/clean up, as well as a bar and security) as most barns in the area require you to do this yourself. Thank you for providing a beautiful location for weddings!

o many compliments from our guests. John, Bob, and Gretchen are so great and so helpful. They always got back to me quickly if I had questions and they are all a joy to work with. Krista (sorry if it’s misspelled!) and Jason were also so helpful the day of the wedding, and even brought a golf cart to help me get from the bridal suite to the chapel without messing up my dress in the rain. It rained and hailed on our wedding day but our guests hardly noticed because the venue was so gorgeous. We can not recommend Brookside enough!!

spoke to one of the owners about putting a special bottle behind the bar and he said he had no control as this was an outside bar service. He mentioned that people often come in off the street to drink at weddings, really ? it's in the middle of nowhere. They have a bar service that is priced per person and different packages are available. Unfortunately 1/2 the people at the wedding didn't drink. You can not put a special bottle of anything behind the bar, and they do not allow you to do shots. (except for the toast) One of the bar maids made several comments to my daughter about how much she was drinking, and when the best man went to get her a drink the bar maid said "oh it that for that bridesmaid ?" Several times I had to tell her to fill my glass as I was paying for it. I did not want to go back and forth so many times, we were dancing and burning off the alcohol we were drinking. Also, the owners could not be found anywhere during the event, so if you have a problem you are on your own. The chapel area was sweltering with no fans and nobody to help. It's a beautiful venue, just know what you get for your money.

the guys to get ready. The bride and groom did not see each other until the ceremony. The chapel was perfect with the big doors open. It stayed cool with the sided opened in the morning. The chapel and main barn are so gorgeous, minimal decorating needs done. The grounds are amazing for pictures. Everyone from the facility was amazing to work with.

the place. My bridesmaids and I stayed in the inn the night before and my husband and I stay at the lodge the night of the wedding. My out of state family was able to stay in the inn. It was so nice to not have to worry about where everyone was and to be close to the venue the few days around the wedding. Gretchen was extremely helpful through the planning process. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because Jason can be rude. He ended up doing everything we asked but never without a conversation and a bit of a struggle. Which no one wants to deal with on their wedding day. Overall, I’d do it again though.

se when we had to start working with Jason. Two weeks before the wedding my wife received a call after submitting our final seating chart. He was very short with her and told her our seating chart was not going to work while providing no solutions. He was angry that we wanted nine people at a table and said that was too many even though we had done the venue walk through the week before and made sure nine people could comfortably fit. When my wife told Jason that the caterer had done a lot of events at this venue and never had a problem with nine at a table Jason said he was the owner and he knows better. So that's where the conversation ended. Luckily we had an amazing wedding coordinator who was able to work everything out without my wife needing to communicate with him again. If this was the only negative interaction I would have just chalked it up to a bad day. However, I had my own experience dealing with Jason's rudeness. At the reception, my groomsmen and I were getting pictures taken right outside the barn. A few minutes earlier we were taking pictures about 15 yards away and a couple of people from the wedding party mistakenly left two beer cans behind as we moved to a new location for pictures. Admittedly this was a mistake on our part, but during the craziness of wedding day small mistakes are bound to happen. Instead of kindly asking us to make sure our cans get in the trash, Jason came up in the middle of us getting our pictures taken and asked if we "wanted to end our night early, because if I see one more beer can that's what's going to happen". It was completely unprofessional and I don't understand why someone with such a short temper would ever want to work in the service industry. If Jason ever leaves I would 100% recommend Brookside Farms. It's beautiful and one of a kind and we ended up having a fantastic reception. But with current ownership, I would never want to risk catching Jason on a bad and having him ruin your wedding.

ek for the entire year of planning this, and Bob and Jason even allowed our dog to be present for the ceremony which made it extra special for us. The staff listened to my careful instructions for table set up and had everything ready for us to start setting up at 9am the day of the wedding. That is the only downside to this venue, that you can't set up any earlier than your wedding day, but we knew this when we booked the venue. This property is absolutely beautiful. We had some family rent the inn on the property and really enjoyed their stay. They allowed us to leave cars overnight for our wedding, which was very helpful to get all of our decor packed prior to 1 am and get all of our wedding party and guests on the shuttles, as there is frequently an OVI checkpoint on route 62. We received so many compliments on this venue, I would recommend it over and over again.

us when we walked the property and met Bob. He was kind and accommodating and made a lot of promises which have later led to my poor review. We were told initially that “they do all the clean up” and that “everything will be put aside for us to pick up at our convenience or before 9am if there is a wedding the next day.” This was not the case we found out on our wedding night, after the reception was over. Despite calling 2 days in advance to reconfirm if all our items could stay overnight and be picked up be 9am. This caused massive chaos and stress for me on my wedding night. This was disastrous because we did not have any cars available to pack up our stuff because we arranged to have shuttle services for our guest I️ decided to ask Jason myself if the items could stay over night he proceeded to tell me to “read the contract that I️ signed- everything out by 1am” this ended in a literal screaming match on MY WEDDING NIGHT. There was signs that Jason did not intend to keep the promises that he made. For example I called roughly 6 months before the wedding to ask Bob, Jason’s father if I️ could rent chairs and If so could they stay over night as long as they were put by 9am. He agreed to this. There would be a costly fee to have chairs picked up that night so this was very helpful to my fiancé and I️. Two days before the wedding Jason texts my fiancé and states that he “needs a lot more information before the chair rental can happen.” This is TWO DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING! A contract had already been signed with the chair company and they were paid in FULL at this point. My fiancé called Jason and they reached a resolution once my fiancé explained how upset this made me. He then later proceed to ridicule our decision and say weird unnecessary comments like “you know your getting these chairs cheaper then any other place, like 10 dollars cheaper.” This made no sense to us and we found the comments very inappropriate. Basically there is way too many avenues of communication between bob, Gretchen, Jason and many promises made that they are unwilling to keep. It’s a wedding factory. They do not care that this is the biggest day of your life. You will not have a rehearsal unless your willing to do this on a Thursday because there is literally a wedding every Friday Saturday and Sunday. The grounds are beautiful and this is what led me to picking this venue. But ending my wedding night in a screaming match and in tears was not worth I️t. I️ truly have no words for the way Jason treated me. His behavior is erratic. When my mom tried to talk to him after the reception to calm the situation down he mocked her to the security staff “you see what I’m dealing with.” He’s unstable and if I️ had met him initially I️ would not have booked there. Please take careful consideration when booking and make sure every request you have is in writing because they will back peddle on every promise made.

They were so organized and have so many things like parking and security and bartenders already taken care of and included, it gave me way less things that I had to worry about. Jason was there the day of and was so accommodating and helpful. They all seemed to really care that it was exactly the way I wanted it. The grounds are beautiful and I was so nice to have a venue to be able to do both the ceremony and reception being that I had so many people coming in from out of state I didn't want them having to get from place to place. They have a great space for the girls to get ready in the morning and the whole atmosphere was exactly what I wanted. And everybody keeps telling me that it was the best wedding that they've been to in years

d with string lights, glowing lanterns, a huge dance floor and is renovated with nice bathrooms, a bridal suite and AC! The chapel is beautiful as well with pews lining the sides and the ability to throw open the doors to get a beautiful view without the risk of rain. The property is well taken care of and they even have cows roaming around. They have a farmhouse on the property You can rent and my husband and I stayed there the night of and it was perfect! The owners (Bob, John, Jason) are the sweetest and were so easy to work with! I loved talking to them, it made it so much more fun! Please have your wedding here! You won't regret it!

ace. We very much wanted an outdoor wedding, but we wanted a location with a good backup plan in case it rained. Brookside had everything we wanted and more! The barn is gorgeous, there is plenty of room indoor and outdoor for guests to mingle, and the property is absolutely beautiful. We ended up not doing our reception outside because it was incredibly windy, but the chapel that we had reserved as our backup was just as beautiful. The staff is very easy to work with and helpful. My husband and I could not have asked for a more beautiful location for our dream wedding!

ss. They helped to make our day perfect. Gretchen replied very quickly to all questions that I had during the planning process. Guests had a great experience and absolutely loved the property. Our ceremony was in the beautiful chapel so weather was not a worry of mine because I knew we would be covered regardless. The addition of new hardwood floors in the barn and air conditioning were just icing on the cake. The venue was very clean and the bridal suite downstairs was the perfect place to get ready! Jason was also very helpful while we were getting ready to ensure we had what we needed. I would highly recommend this venue to everyone for your special day!! You definitely will not regret it!

s simply gorgeous, and the owners are constantly making updates and renovations to make sure their venue stays current. Leading up to our wedding, Gretchen was so calm and prompt in answering my many questions and reassuring any doubts I had. On the big day, Jason ran around wild ensuring all our last minute details were perfect. Our guests loved this unique setting, and especially enjoyed relaxing on the stunning deck to the barn. It was very hot the day of our wedding, and the air conditioning wasn’t quite as cool as I would have liked, but this was a minor flaw compared to the excellent service and beautiful surroundings. My highest recommendation goes to Brookside Farm and their team!

g ready room downstairs with stylist chairs & mirrors, it was our dream venue! Jason, one of the owner's sons, was so helpful & reassuring. The barn is beautiful & I can't wait to see how our photographer captured the barn, landscaping & how beautiful every aspect of the venue is. The only down side (and it didn't even effect our wedding) is that they say they have air conditioning. We were fortunate to have cooler weather on our wedding day. However, on the day of our rehearsal it was 80 degrees & the "air conditioning" was on....it was 83 degrees in the barn. The owners are not the ones who set up for the events, it is the owners son. So they don't see that it doesn't work effectively on hotter days or with 200 people in the barn. I couldn't even imagine if it was warmer on the day of our wedding. Besides this and the cost, everything about this venue is perfect. We had so many compliments on the venue & had a blast at our wedding!

only negative thing I have to say; before our rehearsal ceremony one of the "employees" approached my family and I and began telling us how we were not allowed to park on site, overnight. We stated we understood and he continued to complain about how cops sit on route 62 and pull people over for just wearing a "collar". He went on and on reiterating this several times insulting the local cops. Then he stated that there will be a deputy at the bar anyways to make sure things "didn't get out of control". Again, we stated we understood and agreed. I thought this was done in poor taste. Why he waited until our rehearsal ceremony was beyond us and to do this in front of our wedding party was not appropriate. Like I said, beautiful location but I was off-put by his attitude and timing. Al the other employees were more than helpful and kind.

We got ready in the farmhouse which was beautiful and had our ceremony in the chapel which easily accommodated our 200+ guests and was perfect for a chilly, rainy 50 degree day. The barn looked absolutely beautiful without adding any additional lighting or draping. The new hardwood floors are beautiful! Brookside has so many wonderful things that are difficult to find in a barn venue (heat, A/C, nice bathrooms, a large bar, beautiful deck, on-site chapel, farmhouse to get ready, etc). We loved everything about this venue! Highly recommend it to those looking for a more casual but beautiful venue. Also a great venue for those looking for an outdoor feel but nervous about weather (like me) as it provides options to enjoy the outdoor space if it's a nice day (opening doors in the chapel and barn and the deck). Thank you Brookside for a perfect day!

So many little touches come with the space, like the lighting or the arbor options for ceremonies, providing the perfect foundation to make it into exactly what you want for your "rustic" wedding. We made full use of the ceremony chapel, the reception barn, the farm house, the lodge, the changing/prep rooms for the ladies, the surrounding grounds for our photography, and the new patio we didn't even know had been added until we arrived! It was perfect for keeping everyone on hand the day of, and for not having to move our guests too far between the ceremony and reception. The things you don't want to have to worry about, like clean-up, were included, while the things you might prefer to have flexibility with, like choice of caterer, were up to us. All three owners as well as Gretchen, the admin assistant, were always available and helpful throughout our entire (long!) planning process. And one of the owners' sons was on hand during our rehearsal and the day-of for any last minute questions or issues. Brookside was, in a word, perfect :) It was everything we were looking for.

r/December 2013 for our venue and looked at many places for a rustic/barn feel that we going for. We looked at several places, none of which compared to Brookside both in look, feel, or staff. We purposely were planning quite a bit before our wedding date, but it worked out to our advantage since Brookside does book up very quickly. I would advise if it is at all possible, try to book as soon as possible so you can get the date you wish. We had no problems from start to finish. Besides the initial visit/booking, I was able to go and visit the location a couple times to help with planning process. Every time it was extremely easy to contact one of the owners and set up a visit. The whole staff was helpful and I had no problems having everything set up exactly as I requested. I would recommend Brookside Farms to anyone looking for a beautiful piece of property with a wonderful rustic barn atmosphere, and a wonderful staff.

Gretchen and the owners were easy to reach and always had an answer. I loved staying in the farmhouse with my mom and sister the night before the wedding. We only wish the party was still going on!

s for great pictures! Overall, the owners were pretty easy to work with. They give you their cell phone numbers, and they always answer. Wayne is great! He’s very nice, and super helpful! A couple of things to note-you are not allowed any glass or flames (no real candles). This was something that was a negative for me. Also, the barn is not air conditioned. We ended up having one of the hottest days of the year in September, and it was extremely hot and stuffy in the barn. It is heated though if you have a winter wedding! Overall, great venue, but expensive!

is no kitchen, and also no consumable water. This means you or your caterer must provide all of your own ice and beverages, even iced tea and lemonade cannot be made on site. Also, the high price does not include linens or place settings, so you must provide your own. Lastly, it gets HOT in the barn in the summer as there is no AC. Overall we were pleased, but these are all things to consider.

My many questions asked via email were answered quickly and if they could not answer my question they were so helpful in helping me find what I needed. They gave us recommendations for local vendors which were all outstanding! Our wedding day was perfect! I couldn't have asked for anything more it was a dream come true! Since we had our ceremony and reception here we didn’t have to travel anywhere for pictures, there were a ton of different places for our wedding photos. The cost does add up since you have to bring in your own caterer but we felt it was completely worth it for the amazing setting. I had a great experience with them the only thing I noticed is that it helps to write everything down. Since they are somewhat of a newer venue they are constantly updating the barn, which is great, but it also means certain things get added to the price or the price goes up between the conversations you have with them. We didn’t have to worry about that so much because they honored the price that they had originally told us. I would definitely recommend this venue, call early, they book super fast!

ot your typical reception hall by any means, but rather a rustic barn with lots of character along with modern amenities including a new prep room for the ladies and bathrooms fit for a mansion (both of which are in the air conditioned basement). Note that the main level is not air conditioned, but keep in mind that it's a barn and it does have large exhaust fans. The owners and staff were all very friendly, helpful, and willing to accommodate our many needs and requests from beginning to end. They also offer additional accommodations on the property like an old farm house or a lodge for the bridal party to get ready or spend the night there. If you're looking for a unique and scenic setting for your even then you definitely need to visit Brookside Farms in Louisville, Ohio.

eddings at their gorgeous farm. It was a same sex wedding, which Brookside handled as any other wedding. Having the room downstairs to get ready was beyond convenient. The weather cooperated and our day was memorable. Brookside stands a bit more expensive than other farm venues but they have no catering restrictions and supply tables and chairs for you which makes up the cost. I could not be happier and recommend Brookside 110%!
