it exceeded all my expectations. 10/10 would recommend!!

s stayed in Morganton or found nearby airbnbs to rent. The cottages and yurts are clean, climate controlled, and feel like home as soon as you arrive. We had about 120 guests total at our ceremony/reception which is a lot for the indoor reception space but it worked out perfectly for us and didn't feel cramped. We also had Leah coordinate and style for us which made it so easy for us to relax once we got there, knowing she was taking care of all the details! The entire team of staff are flexible and kind, and so ready to help make magic happen! Our families loved it here and couldn't stop talking about coming back in the future. Even the family who were skeptical at first of going to the woods with no cell service loved it! There is wifi to connect if needed but with everything being on-site you really don't even notice. The cafe has awesome coffee and other options - our friends and family couldn't stop talking about the milkshakes! Definitely recommend their pizzas - we used this for rehearsal dinner and it was perfect. We stayed on site one extra night to have some quiet time after our guests left on Sunday and it was the perfect way to reflect on the weekend and relax after 4 days of parties with all of our family and friends! Having multiple days to celebrate and connect with our guests is the PERFECT way to have a wedding in our opinion! It gave so much time for hot tubbing, hiking, cheersing, and tubing/boating in the creek before the actual wedding happened on Saturday. We absolutely recommend booking your wedding here.

e early stages of planning (shoutout Erin from Plain With Sprinkles!). We live in Asheville, but many of our guests would be coming in from out of town and we wanted to be able to host as many of them onsite as possible. We were looking at summer camp venues but couldn't imagine sticking our 90+ year old grandmas into bunk beds for the weekend. BMBR was the perfect solution, a better option than we even knew we could imagine. An unbelievably beautiful property with a mix of some private housing with doors that close for the elders was great, and then we had fun jamming big groups of our friends into the bigger yurts. Hot tubs everywhere! Llamas to hang out with! Tubing, swimming, and movies on the beach, oh my! Kelsey and her team are amazing. I have no idea how they get it all done in a day, but they make it look effortless. Also, there were about 17 kids at the wedding and they were so kid-friendly, with even some onsite babysitting options that my friends and family took advantage of. What a gift they give to let us share in their little slice of heaven. I think I heard the line "we have to do this again every year" about 1,000 times while I was there. I would choose this venue again and again and again.

anned our wedding from Wisconsin, and with moving, graduation, and new jobs on the horizon, the wedding was low on our priority list for many months. We hired a planner through Brown Mountain, Rachael, who was our life line. We met with her twice via zoom- one initial meeting about 6 months out and again 1 month out from wedding day. She was thorough and knowledgable and helped tie up every lose end we hadn't even considered. We stayed at Brown mountain with all 60 of our guests monday-wednesday. Monday, we all arrived to perfectly clean and STUNNING cabins and yurts. Rachael guided us through unloading the few decorations we brought and got to work using the resort decorations to bring our vision to life. The venue itself is so stunning without additional decoration, we hardly spent a dime on anything extra (and were never made to feel cheap or less than for this decision). The actual wedding day was peaceful and family-filled. We spent the entire day without our phones or other distractions, and simply floated on the river. Elderly relatives enjoyed the shade of the deck, still able to watch the water fun- and all of our friends (and our dog!) played endlessly in the water. Rachael seemlessly kept us on task and perfectly on time as the day progressed. When rain threatened the start time of the ceremony, she and the staff went to every cabin and informed every guest that we would delay the ceremony an hour. I wasn't even slightly phased, the resort kept everything under control, dry, and easy. I was given options and felt supported in any decision I made to move the ceremony inside or wait out the rain. Within the hour, the skies cleared and we were able to have a dreamy ceremony on the beach. After, we ran around with our photographer while our family and friends enjoyed apps and dinner provided by Brown Mountain (INCREDIBLE charcuterie and pizza that everyone raved over). The resort accomidated every dietary concern (and there were many). Everything about this experience was incredible. We were able to spend three days with our community and feel that every penny we spent towards our wedding held purpose. Both my husband and I would recommend this venue to anyone and everyone- communing with family and friends in nature is both intimate and memorable, which is exactly the core of what we wanted our wedding to be. Leaving, all of our guests spoke so highly of the venue and all of the staff and have already discussed visiting again for family vacations in the future! sustainable, fun for ANYone of any age, and the most beautiful souls work here. Kelsey and her crew made us feel like family. They go above and beyond to make the entire event magical and our wildest dream come true. Our wedding guests all said they want to have an anniversary party here and do it all again next year!

ve and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful and smooth wedding weekend and it truly was that. We had around 64 guests staying in the cabins/yurts that nothing by good things to say about their stay. It was so special to have all of our close friends and family there with us the whole weekend. So glad we got married here and started our life together at the best venue around.

erfect setting for a breathtaking but relaxed/lowkey vibe with your favorite people! The BMBR people are amazing at what they do, super friendly, and experts! We had Leah as our Day of Coordinator and she ensured that this Type A bride’s vision was perfectly executed and brought to life!! They made it so easy to sit back and take it easy and take it all in and enjoy, instead of stressing about anything the whole time!! We also did rehearsal dinner food and farewell breakfast through them and it was delicious and perfectly executed. Can’t imagine getting married anywhere else! Truly one of a kind!

ball of nerves the entire time and let me tell you, the bracing jump into that creek was VERY needed. IT was also fabulous to have the hot tubs at the ready. Our pictures are timeless, and the memories will never fade. My mom described it as a faerieland. The star dotted sky. The sweet, mountain air. The sound of the rapids. It was absolutely incredible. Not to mention the history!!!!! I cannot say enough about how special this experience was.

cular favorite was tubing down the gorge with our guests on Sunday after the wedding. Our friends and family had so much fun that they have decided we need to celebrate our anniversary with everyone back at BMBR every year. Thanks for an incredible wedding experience!

e view from Rock Pavilion is so stunning. The river and the endless activities was so much fun, my kids spent HOURS in the cold water! Kelsey and her team were absolutely incredible. The flexibility and attentiveness to basically replan a wedding due to COVID was a stress relief. Any thing you need they can help with, from vendors, to décor ideas, and layout of the wedding. They were our eyes and ears as we were a destination wedding and didnt live near the resort and everything went so so well.

My FIL still talks about Ron and we've almost been married for a year. Kelsey did everything in her power to make sure we were on the same page, and she indulged all of the questions and reassured me on every concern. This venue is so unique, the views are stunning, and it gave us the most magical backdrop for our wedding day. To all my future brides out there, RUN to this venue and snag a date before they're all gone!!!

ect or accommodating! As guests and family arrived, everyone was treated like personal guests of the owners. Several cabins, mine included, are fully equipped with a fireplace, full sized fridge and...Hot Tubs! The rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception were all on site and everything was gorgeous. Late nights spend on the beach roasting marshmallows over a fire ended all of our evenings. Can't recommend this venue enough.

The venue offers such a unique experience where you can bring friends and family together for a whole weekend of celebration and fun, making your memories stretch longer and those special moments more plentiful. Not only that, but the family and staff of Brown Mountain blew us away with their acute attention to detail, constant communication, and genuine thoughtfulness for our every need. Kelsey thought of everything I hadn't even considered and was always on hand to offer a recommendation and point us to the best vendors. In addition to her helpfulness while planning, she took all the worries and headaches of a wedding completely away so that we could just relax and enjoy ourselves for the entire weekend. Our experience could not have been more special and its all thanks to Brown Mountain and the experience they've built.

She will be in touch with all of your vendors and be there the weekend of the wedding to make sure it all goes as planned.The crew that is there to help is wonderful and will do anything you need. The best part about having your wedding here is that you can rent the whole place out for the weekend and have you wedding party and family up for a whole weekend trip! We floated down the river on Friday, wedding on Saturday, and they had a farewell breakfast for us on Sunday. This really is a wonderful venue!!

hing where people could spend more than just an afternoon together, since almost everyone was traveling from out of state, and Brown Mountain Beach Resort accommodated that perfectly. It is a beautiful setting, and allowed people to spend the weekend soaking up family and the creek. Plus our dog could run around with us. Kelsey Wallace and the whole staff were so attentive, we can not say enough good things. We loved our wedding so much, it was perfect!

two weeks out, and Kelsey at BMBR went beyond to make my daughter's wedding the best wedding imaginable. Not only did she step in and pick up where the old coordinator fell short, and boy did she fall short, but she went above and beyond. The flowers ordered were wilted and unusable, Kelsey and her husband were up at 4 am the next morning to purchase new flowers, her husband even climbed the mountain to get those special wildflowers my daughter wanted. We were relaxed and at ease knowing that whatever issue we may be facing the staff at BMBR would handle it. If you haven't booked your venue, THIS is the place.

e took full adventage of the outdoor kitchen and cooked group meals for 80 guests for 3.5 days. Ron was exceptional, always smiling and kind to all guest! And Julie was nice to work with as well. Everyone said our wedding was the best they've ever been to and that is mostly because of the time we got together and the memories we made 💙 thanks for everything, wish we could Come back just for another fun weekend

the stunning views it doesn't requirer a lot of decorating. Rent some near by cabins to accommodate larger wedding parties such as we did. For 200 people no one had to drive more than 3 miles. Enjoyed family picnics, tubbing trips, hiking, near by golfing, dancing, food, fun and friends all weekend. Once you arrive it's easy to forget your worries. The property manager is amazing at making everything feel seamless. I would gladly come hear for any event. I hope your day is as magical and easygoing as I was lucky to experience.

between the beautiful facilities and the adaptivity of the staff, we could not have imagined a better wedding weekend during a rainy and cool May weekend. We know that had it been warm and sunny our experience would have been just as great. We chose to have BMBR cater our reception. We served hand-pressed hamburgers and homemade veggie-burgers. The food was delicious and our guests loved our choice of a gourmet burger bar. It fits the setting of BMBR wonderfully! Julie is the best wedding coordinator we could have asked for. Her attention to detail was remarkable and her experience made for a wedding ceremony and reception that appeared flawless to our guests and non-stressful for us. What more could you ask for?!

in such a beautiful place was a magical experience. Ron and Wendy went above and beyond throughout the entire process, and made the experience a pleasure! They were available 24/7 in the months before and during the wedding to make sure that everything went off without a hitch. They are genuine, family-oriented folks whose only goal was to make sure we had the wedding of our dreams - which we did! We made memories to last a lifetime at BMBR.

our closes family and friends enjoy a whole weekend together. You know it's a great place when even the teenagers were having fun! the place offers the perfect place to relax and enjoy all your guests without being in each others space. While the scenery cant be beat. We had an amazing time. and the owners and wedding coordinator (Kelsey) were extremely helpful and accommodating. all they wanted was to assure we enjoyed our time and that everything was to our expectations and liking. It is the perfect place for a romantic rustic and private wedding celebration. we could not have picked a better place for our special day.

mple yet unique. Some are right on the waterfront and have hot tubs. For rehearsal dinner, they have the option of using the beach and having a bonfire. On the day of the wedding, all of us who were staying on site went tubing down the river which was a very relaxing yet invigorating way to start the day! The reception space is indoors yet still feels open. Kelsey was fantastic at making my pictures/Pinterest pins into reality. The kinds of reviews we got from guests were that it was "magical" and "like a fairytale". Very special venue!
