We had our wedding at the Parkway Central Library in Philadelphia in June of 2024 with Brulee catering. The staff and chefs at Brulee were excellent. They kept everything running smoothly and the food was tasty. If this review was just about them, we would be able to give a fully glowing review. Unfortunately, Brulee’s venue coordinator was disastrous and nearly ruined our wedding by creating an unsafe situation that injured one of our guests.
When we toured the venue, we specifically asked about dangerous steps around the mezzanine level where cocktail hour is held. We were reassured by the coordinator that these would be blocked or guests would be moved away from the area. On the day of our wedding, the steps were not blocked in any way and the only safety measure was a small amount of tape marking the steps.
One of our guests fell down these steps and hit his head, which caused a lot of bleeding and required hospitalization. Thankfully, he is ok and only required some stitches, but this was a disaster that should not have happened.
If you are having a wedding at the Parkway Central Library - please make sure that the steps are blocked and guests are moved away from the area.
On top of this, the coordinator we worked with was extremely disorganized and unresponsive. She mixed up details about our wedding often, and her lack of management and responsiveness added stress that we did not need. If we did not have to use Brulee as required by the venue, we would not have done so due to this coordinator.
Fortunately for you, this coordinator is no longer working with Brulee. In another bizarre move, she told us the night of our wedding that it was her last day with the company and to talk to “someone over there” if we needed anything after the wedding.
We really appreciate the work of the staff and chefs - they were great and highly recommended. It is a shame that the coordinator was not up to their level.
We are so happy that we chose Brûlée for our wedding day! Alysha, Kay, and the rest of the team worked with us through every step of the planning process and created a perfect menu tailored to our tastes and dietary restrictions. Both in advance of our wedding and on the day of, Brûlée ensured no detail was overlooked and every request was met. Alysha guided us through the process making the whole experience as smooth as possible. She always took time to answer all of our questions and often had already anticipated our concerns. Her team was incredibly professional and thoughtful throughout the experience. We couldn't have asked for better catering and event coordination!
Brulee catered our wedding at the Please Touch Museum in August 2022 and did an absolutely phenomenal job. The food was absolutely fantastic – we really had an embarrassment of riches when making our final choices at the tasting – and our guests have been raving about it ever since. Some have said it’s the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. On the day-of, a delay in getting dinners to your guests can really upend your whole timeline and not only did everything come out right on time but the presentation and seamlessness of the serving staff was amazing. They’re a really well-oiled machine and it was a huge asset in our day. Absolutely recommend Brulee to any fellow Philadelphia couples!
Lynnelle and the entire Brûlée team is fantastic. I cannot recommend the Please Touch Museum enough! Lynnelle is everything a venue manager needs to be: adaptable, communicative, and full of exceptional ideas. The Please Touch Museum is an exceptional venue to host an unforgettable wedding, but the staff makes it a dream! They are professional and will do anything that is needed to help the day run smoothly. I highly recommend the Please Touch Museum to any future couples getting married. You will be exceptionally pleased with this phenomenal team and breathtaking venue!
Very disappointing execution. We just hosted our daughter's wedding at the Please Touch Museum which was a truly magical venue. The planning process with Lynelle at Brulee catering seemed detail oriented and gave us great confidence that the day would be exquisite. We loved the food at the tasting. In particular the sea bass with shitake mushrooms had a beautiful presentation of grilled fish surrounded by mushrooms. At the wedding I received a piece of fish with a beige sauce and not a mushroom to be found. It tasted great but the presentation was not what we expected. The cocktail hour saw hors d'oevre stations that were usually 80% empty. The presentation of these stations was not at all what was shown on the website. There were no signs letting people know what they were eating and the quantities were extremely small for the number of people in the room. The bartenders seemed completely untrained ( I received a gin and club soda when I requested a gin and tonic and this happened twice!) Lynelle set the expectation that we would be able to view the reception room and the dessert room before the guests and this never happened. Had I had that opportunity, I would have been able to point out that our dessert take home boxes were supposed to be fully formed as an elegant display rather than strewn around the table in a messy fashion. This elegant wedding that we had planned was systematically made less so by poor execution. Fortunately, our guests enjoyed the venue and the band and seemed to have a good time despite the tackiness.
Brulee Catering was fantastic! The food was phenomenal - our guests are still raving about the food days after! The service was impeccable - everyone was highly professional and great to work with. They were very accommodating and easy to work with - we had fallen under our expected guest count, so Alysha worked with us to add additional mini desserts (which were delicious) to meet the minimum amount without going over our original budget. We had a bit of a journey with our Brulee/Free Library coordinator (coordinator changed 2x in 1.5 years), but we are so so glad that Alysha ended up being our main point of contact by the last 4 months. The price was a bit steep, but honestly, it was well worth the price point given their expert level of service. Everything was executed to perfection and communication was stellar leading up to and on our wedding day, so we couldn't be happier!
We had Brulee cater our wedding at the National Constitution Center. From booking our wedding in winter of 2019 through our wedding day in June of 2021, Brulee was amazing to work with. Carol and Kacie from Brulee helped us navigate the process of postponing and rescheduling (and almost rescheduling again) with ease. The food was all incredible, and one guest said it was the best wedding meal they'd ever had. The Brulee staff took great care of us and our guests all day. We highly recommend Brulee for any event!!
I cannot say enough about Victoria and her staff at Brûlée Catering. It was an exceptional experience from the very first moment of meeting at the tasting, to the weeks of planning, the rehearsal, and the whole wedding day. Victoria played an invaluable part in creating the perfect wedding. She anticipated our needs, answered our questions, made creative suggestions, and accommodated all of our wishes. She was a pleasure to work with. The servers and bar tenders were incredible. The bridal attendant, Kristen, ensured both the bride and groom and parents were able to fully enjoy the day. On top of all of this, the food was amazing! From vegan to gluten-free to kosher, all dietary restrictions were accommodated, and all were raved about by the guests. Truly cannot recommend Brûlée Catering enough.
Brulee catered our wedding at the Please Touch Museum. They were had an amazing variety of food (seriously, it made it tough to choose during our tasting!), and were extremely attentive to any allergy concerns we had. Everyone left the evening well fed, and I got GREAT feedback about the shortrib. Because they were the exclusive vendor of the venue, it was extremely easy to coordinate all of the reception logistics, like linens and table configurations. I would definitely recommend this company to future couples.
Brulee was the exclusive caterer for our wedding at The Liberty View and we were so impressed with everything they did. The food was amazing and they made every effort to accommodate for some of my immediate family members' allergy needs. The staff the night-of, too, was unmatched. They went above and beyond at every moment and I'm so appreciative!!
Brulee was the perfect choice of caterer for our reception. In addition to the beautiful and delicious food, they acted as our wedding coordinators and ensured that all of our family and guests were well looked-after! They were extremely professional through the entire process, and totally "had us" at our food sampling! We did not have a wedding planner and Dan Dutch, our contact at Brulee, really went above and beyond and directed the progression of the entire day. He was organized and thorough and really knows how to coordinate a party. We wanted an informal experience in a unique venue that we and our guests would remember forever. Brulee really came through and gave it to us! Highly recommend!!
Brûlée is simply the best. We had our wedding catered by Brûlée at the National Constitution Center. Carol, our contact, was fantastic to work with throughout the entire process. We knew the food would be great, but when we went to our tasting, we were blown away. Everything was amazing!!! Incredibly enough, the food was even better the night of our wedding. The presentation of everything from cocktail hour, to the entrees, to the desserts was beautiful. The food tasted incredible - we have heard from so many of our guests that it was one of the best meals they have ever had (seriously, "I have never had better sea bass" from multiple people). And the service- WOW. Everyone from Brûlée was so attentive, not only to us, but to all of our family members and the guests. It was really important to us to have high quality food at our wedding, but we never expected everything that we got from Brûlée. We are so lucky to have worked with Brûlée and cannot recommend them enough!!! Thank you for making our day nothing short of perfect!!!
My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Please Touch Museum. We wanted to provide our guests with a romantic, yet unique experience. We received compliments about the venue all evening. Whether it was the beautiful dome ceiling, amazing arches, or the carousel during our cocktail hour our guests were captivated by the beauty of the building. Everyone at the museum was accommodating, professional, and friendly. Brulee Catering did an amazing job with our appetizers and entrees. Our guests were raving about the food all night. I would absolutely recommend the Please Touch Museum to all of my friends and family.
Being a wedding planner, I work with many caterers and I must say Brulee is tops! Their food is so delicious and their presentation wonderful. I had the pleasure of dealing with Elisabeth and she was warm, responsive and made things happen. Nothing we asked for was too much trouble. Any couple would be lucky to have Brulee catering their special day!
We got married at the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia which partners exclusively withBrûlée Catering. To start, this venue was PERFECT for our wedding. It accommodated our large size 265+, old soul/classic side (Memorial Hall was built for the Centennial in 1876 so the architecture is classic and beautiful), and our quirky/fun side with the museum exhibits and the carousel (you get to ride during cocktail hour). Everything is so stunning and grand, you don't need to add much to the venue for it to look gorgeous. It was just what we wanted for our special day.
The venue was just a piece of making the day perfect. Brûlée Catering truly exceeded our expectations of our wedding perfect. I worked with Marley Alig throughout the process. I emailed her A LOT with questions regarding we can and can't do, how things work, layout, timing etc. Each time I had an email, I had an answer very quickly. As someone in events, I was so grateful for constant and clear communication. We worked closely with Marley to make sure all of the special touches that made the wedding "us" were executed and made the reception come to life. We had a lot of needs with what we brought in the venue as well as a TON of dietary restrictions. All were addressed and accommodated without a hitch. Our guests also commented we had the best wedding food they ever had. We also had people who literally attacked the dessert bar when the milkshakes and warm cookies came out. It made people SO happy and continued the joy of the day.
Marley and Brûlée Catering worked with all of the vendors to make sure everything was seamless our our wedding day. There truly were no issues the day of the event except not wanting the day to end .We also cannot say enough about the staff the evening of the event. We, as the Bride and Groom, were very well attended to and our guests experience was fantastic. My dad, aka father of the groom, had very high expectations and they were met in every aspect.
Food, atmosphere, customer service, execution were all fantastic. Brûlée Catering knocked it out of the park. Thank you!!
If I were to get married again (except I won't, seeing as I married the woman of my dreams), I would return to Brulee Catering Every. Single. Time. Our contact, Sarah Wright, was with us from the very beginning of planning, all the way through the evening of our wedding for the 1.5 years of our engagement leading up to the big day of our wedding at Please Touch Museum. Sarah was timely in her e-mail responses, thorough in the requirements, responsive and helpful to any and every big or small question that popped up, and she even accommodated us in a few of our somewhat unconventional special requests. Sarah's professionalism and dedication to our big day really made the difference once we arrived at the venue, she made sure that all we had to do was show up and she took care of the rest from there. And I haven't even gotten to the food!
Brulee Catering offers several tiered options at different price points so as to ensure you can stay within your budget, as well as an unbelievably extensive amount of optional add-on's that help to truly personalize the exact kind of wedding reception you're looking for. Not only is it obvious that the chefs truly care about the food options they create, but the entire staff is devoted to ensuring every guest enjoys their evening.
We had 225 people at our wedding, and we received a significant number of compliments from our guests as to how wonderful the Brulee staff were. Not only were they professional and was the service impeccable, but you could visibly see they were enjoying their evening's work, what a difference that makes!
When planning a wedding, you have many vendors and different moving parts coming together at one time, it can definitely feel overwhelming at times. Sarah and her team at Brulee were the glue that held all these moving parts together, minimizing the amount of stress for my bride and I, freeing us up to truly soak up the atmosphere of our big night.
A thousand and one thank you's go out to Brulee Catering for their excellent service!
My daughter's wedding was at the The Please Touch Museum. We worked closely with 2 representatives from Brûlée catering. Both were very responsive to all our questions and requests. They were also very helpful when we had last minute changes to our guest count. It is amazing how quickly they can transform the space from a children's museum to a spectacular wedding venue in the space of about an hour! Every detail was taken care of. The guests raved about the venue and food., saying it was the best wedding they ever attended. Best of all, the bride and groom said it was the best night of their lives!
To get right to the point, Brulee makes excellent food. Every single thing I tasted was delicious, the perfect temperature, and served beautifully. We decided our menu long after we had our tasting, so I was very nervous that we never got to try two of our dishes. Worrying was clearly a waste of energy, because every dish was DELICIOUS!! They crafted a wonderful Fall menu for us, even a cozy chicken pot-pie that somehow fit our formal wedding! The staff was so professional, and they catered to our every need. We worked with Cristina V. and she was super super accommodating and friendly. Anything we wanted, she made it happen. Last minute, we wanted hot cider, and she made it happen. Day before the wedding, we told her we wanted soft pretzels at the after party. There they were. Specialty cookies? No problem! Good food, good staff, worry-free, what else can you ask for?? Thanks Brulee!!
Chrissy (our wedding planner with the catering co.) was incredible and helped with every last detail!!! The service was superb, the food was incredible and perfect temp., and everyone was so nice. I would choose them all over again if I could!
