Our artists carry multiple complete sets of brushes so that each client has their own set during services. Brushes are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after every event, and we also perform an ADDITIONAL cleaning before beginning services the following morning. All makeup products are sanitized between clients and disposables are used whenever possible. We also want to clarify the statement that our artist said she had “forgotten her brush cleaner.” There appears to have been a misunderstanding. The artist had simply misplaced the cleaner among the other supplies in her kit and was looking for it. In fact, the review itself states that brushes were being cleaned that morning, which would not have been possible had the cleaning solution actually been left behind. The brushes being cleaned that morning were part of our normal additional pre-service sanitation routine—not because the same brushes were being passed from client to client. In more than 20 years of providing professional bridal hair and makeup services, we have NEVER had a reported instance of an infection being attributed to contaminated brushes or our sanitation practices. We take hygiene and client safety extremely seriously, and our procedures have been developed and consistently followed throughout those years. When you contacted us, we took your concerns seriously. We also want to clarify that we did not “blame” anyone in your bridal party for what happened. We simply discussed the fact that MRSA can be contracted through a number of different environments and exposures, and that some members of the group work in a hospital setting, which is a highly likely source of exposure. That was mentioned as a possibility, not as an accusation. Most importantly, there is no way for either you or us to conclusively determine from the timing alone where these infections originated. Numerous clients were serviced that day following the same sanitation protocols, while the reported infections were limited to only a few individuals. We are genuinely sorry these women experienced this.
