BRW New Orleans Band

Billy Kennedy and his band traveled to Houston for my wedding. Out of all of the decisions I made for my wedding, this was by far the best! This band is incredibly talented and so much fun!!!!! They genuinely care! They bring so much energy and love to your day! They know how to get the entire crowd going! I have gotten so many compliments on Billy Kennedy and the whole band!!!! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Thank you Billy!!!!!

BRW is one of the best kept secrets in the New Orleans live music scene. As a very hands-on two-time FOB, it was my distinct pleasure to (yet again) work closely with Billy Kennedy, lead singer and manager of BRW, the band we chose for our second daughter’s recent wedding reception. In fact, BRW was the first wedding vendor that we booked, even before a final date or venue was selected! Lol. That’s how sure we were that we wanted BRW to be a part of our daughter’s big day. Our confidence in Billy and BRW comes from our long history of enjoying their entertaining style, guest engagement and musical talents. BRW played at our older daughter’s wedding three years ago and blew everyone away. We first saw them play many years ago at the wedding of one of our daughter’s bridesmaids. I’ve since hired them to play at my employer’s Christmas party at least four times. They’re a huge crowd favorite and never fail to get everyone on the dance floor and stay there until the last song ends. Billy is a great guy and a real pro, who really cares about “his brides.” Always quick to answer a text or happy to get on the phone to answer questions, he is personally involved throughout the process and does whatever he can to help ensure that BRW’s role in a wedding goes smoothly. Yet again, BRW delivered a magical evening that our daughter and new son-in-law will never forget, nor will anyone else who attended. Do yourself a favor and choose BRW to play at your wedding reception or corporate event. You’ll be glad you did!

BRW was phenomenal and one of the best parts of my wedding! I’m still hearing from everyone how great the band was! They had everyone on the dance floor and helped make the night unforgettable! Billy made the process so easy, they took care of everything and I just had to show up. 1000% recommend!

BRW was the best band! Dealing with Billy was such a breeze. We were picky with what we wanted to hear, and we have multiple musician friends which the band allowed to get on stage and play throughout the night. Billy was perfectly responsive in texts/phone calls to coordinate everything. They were so accommodating and welcoming when ideas were brought up. Billy would just say to every request: “This is your day! We gonna do it your way! Whatever you want.” No complaints. Stress free! Not to mention how talented and amazing they were as well!!

BRW was absolutely amazing! Communication was great, he was available anytime I wanted to call and talk about first dance songs or anything I had concerns about/wanted to make clear. Billy was very accommodating and kind, we loved working with him. I knew from the start that I wanted my sister to sing me & my husband’s first dance song and I was nervous because I think most bands can be pretty strict about those things but Billy was so nice and loved that I wanted my sister to sing. They were so accommodating and even learned the song I wanted her to sing. They also were so amazing with the guests, and my little cousins who loved to be on stage. Me and my now husband were on the stage many time and it was so beyond fun!! Every song was amazing and I know everyone had the best time on the dance floor. I cannot recommend BRW enough!!

They play all the best wedding hits and bring high energy. In addition to being an incredible wedding band, BRW also led us in in the most fun second line exit out of our venue! Billy and his band provided an amazing performance at our May 2023 wedding. So many guests provided compliments regarding how entertaining and energetic the band was. BRW will definitely get everyone out on the dance floor. They play tunes that appeal to all ages from teenagers to young adults to middle aged people to the older generation. Everyone danced at once all throughout the night. BRW is also very fairly priced for the performance they provide. We would recommend Billy and BRW to any bride and groom or any family or company for a private event. We have used BRW for private family events as well as our wedding. They are simply amazing!!!

We have had the joy experiencing the BRW band for a three events now and they keep getting better each time that we see them. We cannot recommend BRW band enough to anyone who wants the best band experience for their wedding. They play fantastic classic Motown hits all the way to contemporary pop hits that make everyone come to the dance floor. BRW drove all the way to Athens, GA for us and were an absolute delight to be around. If you are looking for a fun New Orleans band, look no further than BRW! We saw them at a Mardi Gras party in New Orleans this past February and loved them. When we started planning a high school graduation party for our son and 7 other families, I knew BRW would be a hit! They drove from NO to Atlanta to play a Sunday afternoon party, and as expected, they were SO MUCH fun and loved by all! As one guest said, "I can't stop smiling!" Their play list is a perfect mix, their sound is outstanding, and their energy is unmatched. When booking, I dealt directly with Billy. He was very responsive, great at following up, and so professional. Do not think twice or hesitate to book this band!! Wear comfortable shoes, because you will be on the dance floor the entire time!

One word: INCREDIBLE! One of my sisters had BRW for her wedding in 2015 and I said I would plan my wedding (on 4-29-2023!!!) around their availability whenever I got engaged and started planning- best decision EVER! They are so kind, Mr Billy is so friendly and the dance floor was PACKED all night!!! They are not just a band, but energetic entertainers and impressive performers! Best money spent on my wedding!!! Billy and his crew bring the party! They are so much fun, so talented, and dress to the nine’s! Their playlist will get everyone on the dance floor! Lots of fun oldies with a mix of new stuff. I love that they got all ages out on the dance floor! Billy is a great communicator and very accommodating. Billy Kennedy and the members of BRW were exceptional at my daughter Katie and son-in-law Henry’s wedding in Destin Florida. They were not just a wedding band but really performed a Motown and R & B concert for our guests. Their energy, crowd engagement, costumes, and showmanship set them apart from your average wedding band. They made my daughter’s wedding a once in a lifetime memory that we will never forget. Billy made the contracting and coordinating easy up to the performance. This Mother of the Bride can’t stop smiling after hosting the wedding of the century for our daughter and son in law thanks to Billy Kennedy and BRW. They are the absolute best band and all my guests and I highly recommend them.

Do not hesitate to book the BRW Band for your wedding! If you love Motown, R&B, and fun modern dance hits, then you can’t do better than this band! The musicians were amazing and sounded exactly like the original recording. As far as the vocalists—is it possible to sound even better than Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder, or Van Morrison? Not sure, but Billy and his krewe definitely gave those legends a run for the money! The lady vocalist ( I wish I had gotten her name!) was beautiful and her rendition of Etta James’ “At Last” gave everyone chills. She did an interactive routine to “Proud Mary” with the bridesmaids that was a highlight of the whole night! This is the kind of band that has everyone on the dance floor and those who don’t dance have fun clapping and singing along like they are at a concert. Not only did my guests rave about them, but The BRW Band went out of their way to always highlight the bride and groom and make us feel special. As far as professionalism, Billy is so friendly and quick to return calls. He is very explicit as to what they and what the bride will need in order to make everything run smoothly, and he provides an extensive song list for the brides to choose from. From start to finish of the planning process I knew I was in good hands and had one less thing to worry about. I couldn’t be happier with our choice to book The BRW Band!

Billy and the entire BRW band and crew were absolutely outstanding. We booked BRW a year in advance for my daughter’s wedding in Dallas. Our guests had an absolute blast and Billy had everyone on the dance floor the entire night! Could not be happier with our choice on this band. They were amazing and engaged the crowd the whole reception. They also made sure that the bride and groom stood out and was recognized during the reception. The band is a very important decision to make and this is definitely the right decision. Played all kinds of music and only took one small break! Oh, and they dress nicely and fit right in with our formal wedding!

BRW is it! We pretty much chose our wedding date based off their availability. That’s how good they are! Besides having them at our wedding I have also seen BRW perform at other weddings and they have never disappointed! We booked BRW a year in advance after I attended a friend's wedding where they performed. It was the best dress rehearsal ever! For my own wedding, Billy was very easy to work with. He provided a song list for us to select songs. He was clear about his and his band's needs for the wedding night. And on the wedding night, he definitely brought the energy. Billy's extensive experience in entertaining enables him to read a crowd and know just what songs to sing to keep the energy going and the crowd staying on the dance floor - even if it's not a song you selected :) . Trust him. As the bride, I knew I only wanted to be on the dance floor during the reception, and that's where I was the majority of the night -- on and off stage, dancing and singing with Billy. He's a crowd pleaser! One of my favorite memories was during the second set, after he had an outfit change, he had a jacket ready for my husband to wear and be center stage as BRW performed a song which changed the lyrics to include my husband's name! It was awesome. Thank you so much Billy. You're the best!!!!

The band was fabulous! So many came up to us, asking about them! They were ready for whatever impromptu dance/ethnic tradition we threw at them. Billy is charismatic. But most of all, they sounded GREAT AND help make it a blast!!

Billy Kennedy and his crew are the REAL DEALl! They showed up ready to party and put on one hell of a show making for an incredibly memorable night for our guests and us. They know all the songs you want to hear and how to read the crowd to get everyone on their feet and fired up. Billy checked in multiple times to confirm the schedule, outfits, song requests, and just to make sure we were totally taken care of. You will not regret going with BRW!

Billy Kennedy was absolutely wonderful! I could not have envisioned our evening to have been so special for us while extremely fun for our guests. From the horn trio playing at our ceremony, transitioning into the reception with our first dance til the last song BRW kept the party going. To meet Billy is to like him. To know Billy and the band is to absolutely Love them..! Guests in attendance at our wedding booked BRW for two separate weddings in 2023..! Fun times ahead for our friends and family ! Hands down best band. Billy and his crew seriously know how to throw a party. They are also so kind and reached out so often during wedding planning. One thing I loved about them is how they included everyone. Even my grandma was on stage having the time of her life. I can’t thank them enough for everything. If you want to have a great wedding or event, you 100% need to book them! Thank you BRW.

BRW knows how to bring the FUN! Our family has had three weddings in New Orleans and BRW has brought the FUN for all three weddings! The band has an extensive catalog of the best songs to dance to, and they also provided the brass band for our second line. The musicians are very talented and interact with the bride and groom and guests as well! Billy communicates well and was very responsive to all of our questions and needs throughout the planning process. If you want your guests to stay on the dance floor, BRW is your band!

DO NOT book this band! They canceled 5 hours before a wedding. Despite us trying to find transportation for them, they still did not come, claiming they needed more money! Here we are weeks later and they STILL HAVe NOT paid the money back! Very sketchy business/people .

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. I hired BRW for my wedding this past October for 10/29/22 and the day of my wedding I received a text message from him at 11 AM stating the following: “Hello Haylee, they just called me the van broke down in Slidell. I'm trying to see if I know of a other and close by or a DJ I can refund the money. This has never happened before.” It is November 15th and he has still not refunded the money. My family has given him multiple opportunities to refund us based on his convenience even setting up a payment plan where he could slowly pay us back, however, each time he has not fulfilled his end of the deal. I was very lucky that our venue owner knew a band and we were able to last minute book a replacement, however, that was an unaccounted cost for my parents considering BRW never refunded us the money that day like he originally stated in the above text. I just wanted to share my experience because I truly would not want any bride to undergo the stress and anxiety I went through on my wedding day.

BRW was FUN & FUNKY! They had an extensive and impressive catalogue of songs - we loved being able to dance to all our first songs “live!” Their energy is contagious, we got so many compliments both from local and out of town friends and family on what a blast BRW was. To top it off- Billy was professional, warm and a pleasure to work with. We can’t say enough nice things about BRW!

They were timely, played a great mix of classic party songs that the crowd loved. Billy was always responsive to my messages and emails and did everything to make sure the day went as planned. We did not want the quiet trio that sat in the corner. We got exactly what we wanted and could not have been happier.

When my daughter got engaged, Billy was all over coming to our celebration! The band was the best, guests danced all night....we even had them play an additional hour! I highly recommend BRW band. We loved Billy and the rest of the guys. Billy always responded quickly to my messages, was reasonably priced, and the music was fantastic. They learned our first dance and mother/son dance and had us on our feet all night. Family called it the funnest wedding they'd been to in years and I think a big part of that was BRW. They've played three of the 4 wedding s our family has had in the past 5 years.
