We really loved working with Bryan Jonathan and his co-photographer, Kate! They were very thoughtful, kind, and respectful; making us laugh throughout the day while capturing the m...
ost beautiful shots. They were both so wonderful and created such a tailored experience for the combining of our families–from the planning stage, to the taking photos of ourselves and our loved ones. As an interracial LGBTQIA+ couple, we wanted to make sure we worked with a photographer who was respectful, excited for our special day, and most importantly, would be willing to capture and present our love in the most affirming and beautiful ways. Bryan and Kate both exemplified these aspects in the best ways possible. It was SO clear that Byran was well experienced. He was patient and walked us two novices through the entire process (both planning and day of work). Bryan ensured that we felt safe and could just be ourselves which he then caught on camera so we can see and celebrate our authentic selves for years to come. We had a vision of having nature shots, which he took and with his expert knowledge of lighting, landscape, and placement, had us in fantastic shots that our friends and family are in awe of. We wholeheartedly recommend hiring Bryan Jonathan as a photographer for any special events! Our wonderful day would not have been the same without his expertise and skill set.
We absolutely loved working with Bryan. Our engagement and wedding photos are modern, timeless, and beautiful. Bryan captures authentic moments and the photos never look staged or ...
over-processed. Bryan is incredibly committed to providing the best possible photos and experience for his clients. In October, my now husband and I planned a trip to Duluth for our engagement photos. It was a bit later in the season, but I was hoping for gorgeous fall colors in our photos. Bryan went to multiple locations in Duluth to find a park that had the best foliage for our photos. He has an incredible eye for highlighting the beauty of location. We also felt so at ease with Bryan, which allowed us interact naturally in front of the camera.
Bryan is a great guy, and he takes the time to get to know you as a couple and develop a rapport with you. He has a wealth of knowledge about wedding biz in general, so he is a gre...
at resource. Quite amusing watching him hopping about getting the best angle for photos.

Bryan & his second photographer Kate. You both were so amazing and loved celebrating with you both.
Very easy to work with. We had no idea what we wanted and he made both the engagement session and the wedding photos a great experience for us. The photos are absolutely gorgeous. ...
10/10 would recommend.
He is a true professional - but also an absolute goof! He made us naturally smile throughout the process and the photos are exquisite. He really has an eye for those "artsy" phot...
os and can rifle through the staged ones quickly.
Better than I could have hoped for - thank you, Bryan!!
Bryan was amazing. His photos, slideshow and video were all perfect. He meet with us before our ceremony to better understand our expectations. He was professional and fun.
I am so thankful that we found Bryan.
He went above and beyond for us for our wedding days - yes, we were slightly nontraditional and had a wedding ceremony in the Church and then...
one at Lutsen. We were originally not planning on having any photos taken at the Church ceremony and changed our minds last minute. Bryan showed up without hesitation and captured moments I will cherish for a lifetime. I am so thankful for him and his hard work on BOTH of our wedding days. His co-photographer, Kate was spectacular as well.
I am so happy for the work that these two did and I am beyond grateful for having them be there for our wedding day.
He deserves an award for being available night and day, being creative with different shots and lighting, and being able to get LOTS of photos in a short amount of time. I am so looking forward to having these photos for my whole life.
100% recommended for 100% satisfactory job.,
Bryan is without doubt one of the best - he just makes other photographers look like amateurs.

fter looking through many photographer websites I found Bryan. There was just something different, something better about his pictures. Even my husband was surprised when he noticed how much better his pictures were. After meeting with Bryan we knew he was the one. We had a blast shooting our engagement pictures and our wedding experience was even better. His photos speak for themselves, they are absolutely stunning and really a step above others. We felt like he was a part of the wedding party because he fit in perfectly with us and with everyone else involved. His sense of humor will keep you laughing and he’s great at making you feel comfortable with a camera in your face. I highly recommend Bryan to anyone looking for a professional who will capture your wedding day with the most amazing photos and will be a blast to share your day with. We can’t say enough good things about Bryan – book him!!!
After looking at tons of photographers’ pictures there was just something about Bryan’s pictures that captured emotion and feeling more than others we saw - his photos are absolute...
ly beautiful. When we did a skype interview we just knew he was our kind of person, our personalities meshed well, and we instantly got along.
When we did our engagement shoot, we put all our faith in Bryan because we live in the Twin Cities and don’t know Duluth all that well. He didn’t disappoint when picking out areas to shoot; we loved having the brick work of Fitger’s in our pictures and going to Lester Park was perfect to capture our outdoorsy side. The beginning of the shoot was super awkward because Eric and I don’t sit and stare longingly into each other’s eyes but Bryan was great at breaking the ice and has an ease about him that helped us relax and open up. We had such a blast joking around and love that he shares our sarcastic sense of humor.
Bryan sent us a couple of photos as a sneak peek and we absolutely loved them. We were super excited to see the rest and didn’t have to wait long to see all the engagement pictures. The online gallery is great and the ability to share the pictures with friends and family is an added bonus.
We can’t wait to share our special day with Bryan and would not hesitate a moment to suggest others do the same.
Bryan did an amazing job on our engagement photos in Canal Park. This was not a scheduled engagement session, but the actual engagement moment itself! Bryan worked with my fiancé a...
head of time to plan the moment in the most beautiful and scenic spot with incredible lighting. He was ready to go when the moment happened and beautifully captured every emotion. He then spent about an hour with us doing shots around Canal Parks streets, shops, and shoreline. My fiancé and I had never posed for professional photos before, and it was much tougher than I imagined it could be! Bryan was great at directing us and knew just when to snap the photo. He captured our personalities perfectly. Additionally, he has an amazing eye for finding cool backdrops and textures to shoot in front of. He had our photos back to us quickly and even sent a sneak peak same day! We will truly cherish these photos forever and are so glad that Bryan was the one to shoot them. I would absolutely recommend Bryan for your wedding and engagement!

Overall the photos were not bad and we did get a lot of compliments on them, however I would not hire Bryan again. Bryan does not work from a shot list and when explaining why, thi...
s made sense, but then he missed a lot of what I figured were normal wedding shots (ex: us feeding each other cake, him hugging his parents, me hugging my mom, etc). Also, the pictures I did ask him to take, which he said wasn't a problem, he then didn't take and the standard family ones are just so-so. He seemed to rush through them and now I feel like we missed opportunities to take more or better pictures and he didn't direct when I feel like we could've used some direction. Overall I'm really disappointed and sad. This was an aspect of the wedding that was really important to me and one of the things I cared the most about and I just didn't get what I was looking for. If you care about what pictures you get, I'd look elsewhere, if you want someone who will just come take what they like, he's probably your guy.
