They were both so wonderful and created such a tailored experience for the combining of our families–from the planning stage, to the taking photos of ourselves and our loved ones. As an interracial LGBTQIA+ couple, we wanted to make sure we worked with a photographer who was respectful, excited for our special day, and most importantly, would be willing to capture and present our love in the most affirming and beautiful ways. Bryan and Kate both exemplified these aspects in the best ways possible. It was SO clear that Byran was well experienced. He was patient and walked us two novices through the entire process (both planning and day of work). Bryan ensured that we felt safe and could just be ourselves which he then caught on camera so we can see and celebrate our authentic selves for years to come. We had a vision of having nature shots, which he took and with his expert knowledge of lighting, landscape, and placement, had us in fantastic shots that our friends and family are in awe of. We wholeheartedly recommend hiring Bryan Jonathan as a photographer for any special events! Our wonderful day would not have been the same without his expertise and skill set.

In October, my now husband and I planned a trip to Duluth for our engagement photos. It was a bit later in the season, but I was hoping for gorgeous fall colors in our photos. Bryan went to multiple locations in Duluth to find a park that had the best foliage for our photos. He has an incredible eye for highlighting the beauty of location. We also felt so at ease with Bryan, which allowed us interact naturally in front of the camera.

fter looking through many photographer websites I found Bryan. There was just something different, something better about his pictures. Even my husband was surprised when he noticed how much better his pictures were. After meeting with Bryan we knew he was the one. We had a blast shooting our engagement pictures and our wedding experience was even better. His photos speak for themselves, they are absolutely stunning and really a step above others. We felt like he was a part of the wedding party because he fit in perfectly with us and with everyone else involved. His sense of humor will keep you laughing and he’s great at making you feel comfortable with a camera in your face. ly beautiful. When we did a skype interview we just knew he was our kind of person, our personalities meshed well, and we instantly got along.
When we did our engagement shoot, we put all our faith in Bryan because we live in the Twin Cities and don’t know Duluth all that well. He didn’t disappoint when picking out areas to shoot; we loved having the brick work of Fitger’s in our pictures and going to Lester Park was perfect to capture our outdoorsy side. The beginning of the shoot was super awkward because Eric and I don’t sit and stare longingly into each other’s eyes but Bryan was great at breaking the ice and has an ease about him that helped us relax and open up. We had such a blast joking around and love that he shares our sarcastic sense of humor.
Bryan sent us a couple of photos as a sneak peek and we absolutely loved them. We were super excited to see the rest and didn’t have to wait long to see all the engagement pictures. The online gallery is great and the ability to share the pictures with friends and family is an added bonus.
We can’t wait to share our special day with Bryan and would not hesitate a moment to suggest others do the same.

head of time to plan the moment in the most beautiful and scenic spot with incredible lighting. He was ready to go when the moment happened and beautifully captured every emotion. He then spent about an hour with us doing shots around Canal Parks streets, shops, and shoreline. My fiancé and I had never posed for professional photos before, and it was much tougher than I imagined it could be! Bryan was great at directing us and knew just when to snap the photo. He captured our personalities perfectly. Additionally, he has an amazing eye for finding cool backdrops and textures to shoot in front of. He had our photos back to us quickly and even sent a sneak peak same day! We will truly cherish these photos forever and are so glad that Bryan was the one to shoot them. I would absolutely recommend Bryan for your wedding and engagement!

s made sense, but then he missed a lot of what I figured were normal wedding shots (ex: us feeding each other cake, him hugging his parents, me hugging my mom, etc). Also, the pictures I did ask him to take, which he said wasn't a problem, he then didn't take and the standard family ones are just so-so. He seemed to rush through them and now I feel like we missed opportunities to take more or better pictures and he didn't direct when I feel like we could've used some direction. Overall I'm really disappointed and sad. This was an aspect of the wedding that was really important to me and one of the things I cared the most about and I just didn't get what I was looking for. If you care about what pictures you get, I'd look elsewhere, if you want someone who will just come take what they like, he's probably your guy.
