We had a hard-to-name style we were looking for: a combination of editorial (drama! lighting! art!), journalistic (candid! capture the real, authentic, unscripted moments!), and film (gritty! vintage!) which asks for a level of expertise and experience. While researching wedding websites, Bryan's photos made us stop dead in our tracks and look at each other. Here was the mix of digital that had film-like coloring and actual film. Here were the drama-filled editorial shots, like decadent pages from magazines. And here were the incredible, INCREDIBLE candid moments that captured volumes of emotions in split seconds: The surprise on a bride's face when their friends bumrushed them in public, the genuine laughter tossed by a groom over his shoulder, the mother looking in a mirror. THAT is what I was looking for. - A PROFESSIONAL: Bryan is just... really good at what he does. And he is really good at running his business. He is reliable, highly communicative, and high quality. QUICK PHOTOS + TURNAROUND TIME: Dude, Bryan is incredibly fast. He identifies money shots quickly, directs you expertly, and has his photo in seconds. His turnaround time is insane. He delivers you the photos within a few days. You get a ton of photos. Each photo is amazing and we were stunned at the beauty of the shots that sometimes, we didn't even remember him taking. Most of my friends wait months to get their wedding photos back. We got ours within two weeks. There were 400 photos and they were all edited. Select black and white. He even had film photos. I don't know how he does it. - A GENUINELY NICE AND FUN PERSON: He is so nice and really funny and sweet. I learned so much about him as a person. We bonded over silly things like the Simpsons. He loves his cats. I'm his biggest fan. He's worth it, if you are looking for one thing to NOT worry about and fret over during wedding planning - if you are looking for someone you can kind of blindly trust to do amazing work and be on top of it at all times - hire him!

Bryan Sargent was exactly the photographer we were looking for to shoot our wedding. We were looking for someone with an editorial style who would be more like a fly on the wall and let us and our guests enjoy our ceremony and reception as it happened without interrupting nor needing to take us away from our special day. Once we met him we loved his energy. He just is a fun and happy person to be around. Personally I was nervous about photos because I don't consider myself a photogenic person and tend to involuntarily make awkward faces when a camera is around. We got to meet and learn more about each other during our engagement shoot. We originally didn't plan on doing engagement photos but it was instrumental in him getting familiar with us and how we do in front of a camera. The photos turned out amazing. As for the wedding, Bryan made the whole experience seamless. He is very efficient and got all the shots he needed to without really needing to stop us or pose us. He just went with the flow of the day and got what he needed as things happened, and that was really important to us. He did his research with the venue and even got us up onto the rooftop for the best photos of the day which we weren't sure we would get access to. Bryan also has a good eye for catching unusual, unexpected, yet super interesting moments that happen throughout the day, which is also what drew us to him. He definitely captured some of the moments for us for our wedding. We skipped on getting a videographer, and don't regret it because we felt like the essence of the day was fully captured in Bryan's photos.

Bryan is without a doubt the most talented photographer in the game. Our pictures are the best investment we made in our wedding with Bryan - I receive so many compliments on the style of his photog skills and how he was able to capture our true essence as a couple. He is hands down the best option and you will be SO happy that you booked him - you will hold onto these pictures FOREVER.

I’ll start my review simply by saying we love Bryan and would choose him again and again! During wedding planning, we interviewed many photographers to get a sense of style, personality, and price. With some of the companies we talked to, I felt like we were just another couple they wanted to add to the docket and it was super impersonal. When Russell and I met Bryan, we realized we met someone really special!! We were nervous about our engagement shoot because we didn’t want to be awkward, and Bryan put us so much as ease. We had so much fun with him, and honestly couldn’t wait for the wedding. Leading up to the wedding, communication was clear and consistent. A week before the wedding I thought I might have communicated the schedule wrong to my hair and make up girls and he made himself available right away to go through the timeline and ensure me that I was right and all was ok. The day of the wedding, Bryan arrived early and the energy was so positive and fun! We had some rain but that didn’t stop us from having a blast and getting some of the most beautiful shots I’ve ever seen. When the rain cleared, we ran outside and got great photos there too! All the while, despite the weather (and our crazy family) Bryan stayed cool and calm, which was great for us. The day was truly so fun and magical and he played a huge part in that. After the wedding we got all of our photos back in less than 2 weeks!! It was AMAZING! I speak so highly of Bryan and all I can say is that I can’t wait for more family events where we can hire him to come photograph. We used Bryan Sargent's photography services for our wedding a few weeks ago. We just received our photos back (so quickly), and they are beyond my wildest expectations! They are absolutely stunning and they so perfectly and genuinely captured every part of our special day. Bryan is the absolute best! We can’t recommend him enough. We LOVE our wedding and engagement photos and hope to continue working with him again in the future. The top 5 things that stand out about Bryan: #1 His photography skills are top notch. In addition to having our planned shot list and locations selected, he creates on the fly and captures candids and movement so well. These creative and candid photos are our favorite from our big day. #2 We love his editing style. We prefer a style that’s a bit more editorial and all of our photos from him look like they could be in a magazine. It’s amazing. #3 He is truly the nicest person. He brings a kind calmness that helps so much on days like wedding days and is also the type of person you want to hang out with. This made working with him so seamless and easy. #4 He edits very quickly. Bryan was able to get us our fully edited set of engagement photos within just a few days and somehow managed to get us our full (and giant) library of beautifully edited wedding photos in just a week after our wedding. He said it typically takes him no longer than 1-2 weeks to do this which is so great as no one wants to wait a month or more for their wedding photos. #5 He was very accommodating when we requested adding a second shooter due to the size of our wedding. Although he typically shoots weddings solo, he had a great recommended colleague who came on to support photography for the day. She shot within the same style as Bryan, and because he edited all the photos, they all fall within the same style and the high standards that Bryan has.

Can't get over how great our wedding photos turned out! They are so beautifully shot, and perfectly composed, with the sort of "Coveteur"-esque flash photography that makes everyone look fantastic. Bryan is the best - look no further. Bryan has been through all of our COVID events beginning with our engagement shoot, mini wedding and then the big wedding this past weekend (dying for these photos) and I am in love with the all of photos he has given us. You will find yourself accidently ordering a million prints to hang and realizing you are out of wall. His style is warm and real and he has the unique ability to find that "OMG" shot without having to stage it. He sees YOU and shows it clearly through his work. Deserves a 6th star. We were lucky enough to be recommended Bryan and meet him at our friends’ beautiful wedding and after seeing his work were so excited to have him photograph our wedding day. We had to change our original wedding date due to COVID restrictions and he was so kind and supportive to us during this time. Working with Bryan was wonderful! There were a lot of last minute details for our wedding (including in the hours before it began) and he adjusted with us at every turn. Bryan was the perfect photographer for day of our wedding. We also did engagement photos with him to get to know him prior, and it really helped get a sense of the style we were going for. It's not often that you get to sit down to write a review and have absolutely nothing negative, albeit constructive, to say. From the very first interaction up until the delivery of the files, Bryan proved to be one of the best photographers I have ever worked with (personally and professionally). We had a small, 10-person, wedding ceremony and Bryan captured the intimacy in truly amazing splendor. He also worked with our budget, which was way below the typical NYC wedding cost. We felt so lucky our planners recommended Bryan - we’d also seen the accolades he had received on the Knot! Something we liked about Bryan’s photography when looking through his galleries was the authenticity he captured in his couples - he had beautiful candid shots that were captured at all the right joyful moments. When we met with Bryan to discuss our vision, we felt he immediately got us! We used him for both our micro Covid ceremony in 2020 and our larger wedding celebration in 2021, and he was an absolute pleasure to work with. Bryan absolutely blew us away with all of the images captured of our October 2021 wedding at Gotham Hall. He is so fun and easy to work with, and really captured the energy of our day. What I loved most was how he showcased the emotion in every moment. He is a pro and a very genuine person. We didn't include our dog in our wedding day but wanted some memories with her and he took the most stunning photos of our pup during our engagement session! He went above and beyond and scoped out the exterior of our venue the week in advance to find the best and most NYC centric spots to capture photos. Bryan is the best of the best!!

Bryan was easily the best vendor we had hired for our wedding. His photographic talent is not only excellent, he is just a delight to work with. He was very flexible and understanding with COVID related changes and actually photographed two separate weddings (a small elopement and our big day when it finally came) for us, as well as engagement photos, and delivered the same quality throughout. Not only did he nail all the normal posed shots, but he captured candid moments all night long without ever being noticeable. Additionally, he was always very responsive to questions or inquiries and turned around all the photos in a very timely fashion. In a sea of uncertain moments and rescheduling difficulties, we were impressed at his ability to roll with everything time and again. Finally, his dedication shone through when we got to our wedding venue and found out he had spent time the few days prior scouting out shots just for us, even though he had worked our venue before he took the time really personalize the experience and find new shots just for us.

If I could give Bryan more than 5 stars I would! He was a pleasure to work with, and very accommodating when we had to postpone our wedding by a year due to covid. We did engagement photos with Bryan (a year after we actually got engaged) after already booking him for our wedding, and we were thrilled with how those came out. But the photos of our actual wedding day blew us away. Bryan was a joy to work with throughout our big day and was such a fun and calming presence. He pretty much let us do our thing and captured every moment - posed or candid - perfectly. He did a particularly amazing job getting some fun dance floor moments on camera! His style is the best mix of being refined and polished without looking too contrived/overly posed/cheesy. Both my family and my husband's keep raving about how great of a job he did, and my husband and I want to use him for any family photos in the future!

We worked with him three times (engagement photos, zoom wedding, and then our delayed reception one year later) and he did such an amazing job each time. Amazing engagement photos! My Fiancé and I loved working with Bryan. We live in Manhattan and wanted to take some pictures around our neighborhood. Bryan made us feel very comfortable from the beginning even during Covid and especially because my Fiancé hates getting his picture taken. The photographs are perfect - very natural and un-posed and capture our favorite parts of the city. He captured the sunset lighting and shadows perfectly. They are exactly what we were looking for. Hiring Bryan was one of the best decisions we made for our intimate backyard wedding and engagement shoot. He made my partner and I feel comfortable enough in front of the lens to somehow bring out wonderful candid captures during a staged shoot for two people who feel very awkward having their photos taken. He of course snaps pictures of all your requested poses but most importantly he captures the emotion in the quick spontaneous moments throughout the day. My husband and I knew of Bryan Sargent through my brother and sister-in-law. He was the photographer for their wedding several years ago and his pictures were great. When we got engaged, he was one of the first vendors we contacted and signed a contract with and it was the best wedding-related decision we’ve made. He is professional, polite, and kind. He was always easy to communicate with and responded to emails timely. Our wedding was unfortunately postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We made the decision to have an intimate, backyard ceremony around our original wedding date and asked Bryan if he would be willing to shoot that day for us too. He was not only willing to commute out of state to where we were holding the ceremony, but took many precautions regarding safety, social distancing, and cleanliness while he was working. All of this makes for a professional and accommodating wedding vendor that anyone would want to work with. Bryan as a photographer though, in our opinion, is one of the best. His photos are beautiful, full of life and color. He has a real talent and an eye for photography that my whole family has come to admire. One thing I loved about my brother’s wedding photos was how he managed to capture the love and happiness from that day, all of that emotion is in those pictures. It was what I wanted for my own wedding pictures and Bryan 100% delivered. I am not the most photogenic person and can be very critical of myself in pictures, but I am so happy with how they came out and I think a lot of that has to do with Bryan. We are in love with our wedding pictures and they help us to remember what a wonderful day it was. We fully recommend Bryan Sargent Photography to anyone getting married and in need of a photographer. His work speaks for itself and he has been an absolute pleasure to work with!

I am horribly late in writing this review, we got married almost a year ago! We searched for a photographer for what felt like forever. I think this was the most difficult vendor decision we made, just because of the sheer number of options! However, once we met Bryan we knew he was our guy. The style of most wedding photos these days seems to be all dark and moody. Which, while beautiful, was not our vibe at all. Our wedding was in June, it was happy, bright, sunny, and joyful. We wanted a photographer who was going to be able to capture that feeling. Bryan understood us immediately. While my husband has no problems having his photo taken, I am extremely camera shy. I knew I was going to have a hard time with a camera following me around all day, and so it was important that we like our photographer for more than just his work. Bryan is kind and reassuring, and always made me feel at ease. He also wasn’t afraid to suggest poses, which was helpful because again, I hate having my photo taken and had no idea how to stand! Bryan also included an engagement shoot in his wedding package, which was a huge relief. It allowed us to essentially have a “trial run” and become comfortable with this process. For the day of our wedding, Bryan asked us to send him a list of the photo combinations we wanted (ex. Bride & groom with bride’s parents, bride with MOH, etc). I wish I had thought about this more, because now there are other photo combinations I wish I’d done! This is a word of advice for future brides, and not a strike against Bryan because he did everything we asked him to! All in all, we love our wedding photos and would absolutely recommend Bryan to anyone in the NYC area.

Planning a wedding under normal circumstances is stressful enough. Add in a global pandemic and the heartache and disappointment seem insurmountable at first. Peter and I and our families had to postpone our big church wedding and reception in NYC a month ahead of our planned wedding date on April 25, 2020. The first person I called was Bryan. In my opinion your photographer is the most important vendor you will hire for your wedding. Bryan was completely understanding throughout the whole process. He’s such an easy person to talk to. He’s captured hundreds of weddings and truly feels all the emotions with you but has such a level head on his shoulders that you know everything will be ok because he’s on your team. Bryan worked with us to find a new date even when we were going back on forth on which month was going to work for all of our vendors. But that’s not even the beginning of his amazing dedication to his work and to his clients. Peter and I made the decision to get legally married just a couple days after our planned wedding date. I phoned Bryan two days before and explained that this was all coming together very quickly and if possible we wanted him to capture our special moment on camera. The only problem is that we’re based in NYC which is dealing with some of the strictest social distancing protocols due to COVID-19. I had no expectations of him saying “yes” but Bryan replied with “of course, I will be there, I wouldn’t miss this special moment.” Bryan arrived 40 minutes early to our Central Park ceremony complete with mask and gloves and disinfectant to protect himself, his equipment and us. Bryan not only helped us set up our Zoom wedding from my iPhone and tripod, but he captured some of the most heartfelt photos before, during and after the ceremony that Peter and I could have only dreamed of. And all from a safe social distance. I’ve already ordered his photos to create photo books for our mothers in time for Mother’s Day! Life has such a funny way of working out. Through all of this recent stress, Bryan was there to put us at ease and help us memorialize our special occasion. I wish I could have given him a huge hug that day, but we are looking forward to our new big wedding date next year when we’re hopefully all well and safe again to enjoy a proper celebration! Couldn’t recommend Bryan enough! Wish we could give him 100 stars!

I met Bryan a few years ago at my friend's wedding. I absolutely loved the way her photos turned out, so Bryan was my first choice for my own wedding. Bryan is so relaxed, kind, and easygoing throughout an entire day of taking photos that you don't even notice how attuned he is to getting the perfect shot until you see the photos afterward. There were a lot of details in wedding planning that I wasn't very interested in, but finding the right photographer was important to me--after your wedding day, the photos are all that you have to remind you of everything. I'm also a bit self-conscious when it comes to being the subject of any photo, but Bryan never made me feel like I was "posing." It all just felt very natural and fun and loose. Our photos are absolutely beautiful, more incredible than I imagined, and I will treasure them forever. I can't recommend Bryan enough to anyone looking for a fantastic, talented photographer.

Bryan Sargent was truly the best photographer we could have asked for. He was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process, from booking to our engagement shoot to the big day- even to post-wedding, when he got our photos back to us in just a few weeks! He meshed well with our other vendors, like our videographer, and the whole day was seamless. He isn't obtrusive and shoots amazing candids so you don't have to worry about being in 100 different poses (of course, he does do the family/group shots you need, but the best smiles are in the candids anyway!). We've highly recommended him to all of our newly engaged friends, so we hope to see him at another wedding soon.

Bryan Sargent was by far one of the BEST decisions we made for our wedding day. From the moment we met him (and he convinced us to do the complimentary engagement shoot, even though we were hesitant, which was a blast! :)), we knew we wanted to hire him. It was really important to my now! husband and myself that we had a photographer who was able to capture all the important and "must have" pictures, but also someone who could document for us the special and candid moments - without being demanding and in our face/space. Bryan delivered above and beyond anything we could have ever expected. When we got the wedding pictures 2 weeks! after our day, his work allowed and enabled us to relive our memories and emotions and see all the candid moments we may have missed, or forgotten about. We will cherish going through these pictures for the rest of our lives. All his reviewers are spot on by calling him a ninja/jedi, and we echo the same sentiment and more. Do yourself a favor and look no further for a photographer - Bryan is your guy!

We highly recommend Bryan for engagement and wedding photos!! Bryan was a pleasure to work with and made the whole process stress free and fun! He’s very responsive and was quick to get us photos back - under a week for engagement and under two weeks for wedding photos. And we absolutely love how every single photo turned out! We had such a great experience having Bryan shoot our wedding and would highly recommend him for anyone else! His shots came out great (especially all the candid ones) and really captured a lot of the people's personalities at the wedding while also not getting in anyone's way. Bryan is an amazing photographer and I’d actually been following his work for years before I had the opportunity to work with him for my wedding. While Bryan does take the typical posed group/couple pictures, what I love most about Bryan’s work is his ability to capture the energy of an event through his candid shots. If you want to relive one of the greatest moments of your life, Bryan will surely capture those very feelings you felt for you. On top of that, I’m quite camera shy but Bryan was such a sweetie and so patient. He just made me feel at home. I tried to pose during the engagement shoot and realized I really didn’t need to at all. I love my husband and 10 years later I’m still head over heels for him. I don’t need to “pose” that feeling. The feeling is already there. All I needed was Bryan to capture it for me. Thank you Bryan!!! You’re amazing and we could not have asked for better wedding photographer!

Bryan is INCREDIBLE! Super professional. Creative. Artistic. Real. Easy going. Patient. Flexible. So easy to work with! I spent months searching for the perfect photographer to capture the best moments of my wedding in the most genuine way and was so glad to come across Bryan's page. Bryan is such a wonderful photographer with a natural eye for beauty. He has taken photos of my business a couple times and also taken family photos for me three times. Although he specializes in engagements and weddings, the photos came out better than I could have hoped for. He’s so talented I knew I would love the photos and of course they exceeded my expectations! He has also photographed friends and clients weddings and unanimously, everyone couldn’t be happier. This review is long overdue (about 9 months), but Bryan was absolutely amazing to work with. Not only was he reasonably priced, but his work was excellent, both for our engagement session (which we really used to just get comfortable in front of the camera) and at our wedding. My husband and I were looking for a photographer that was unique and approached the photos from an artistic angle, and Bryan was exactly what we were looking for. We, as a couple, cared most about the artistic nature and capturing raw emotions in the moment and Bryan and our second shooter, Massimo, absolutely crushed it. We have the most fun photos and it is thanks to Bryan that we can say that.
