Bryn Du Mansion and Fieldhouse

o Covid, we rescheduled our wedding three times; each of which Bruce & Athena were there to make the transition for us as smooth as possible. To think what their business must have been going through during the past few years, to have them there for us with a smile on their faces and willing to do whatever they needed to satisfy us, is something we will hold close to our hearts forever. Their passion to have each event be exactly what their client wants is something that is so obvious in any interaction. They were beyond accommodating any time we wanted to stop by and see the venue, had any questions or needed our vendors' questions answered. I would work with them and have our reception at Bryn Du a hundred times over. They are organized and have an itinerary for all tasks needed completed; they provide a recommended vendor list and they are there for any assistance during the day of the event. They are such a pleasure to be around and I will miss the constant interaction with them. It is rare to work with people for one event and be left with the feeling of, I hope to know them forever; but that is how they made us feel. If you are deciding between venues for your event, we recommend going with Bryn Du. Not only was our event beautiful with compliments galore, it was such a peaceful process that every person planning an event deserves to have which was made possible by the people of Bryn Du.

so helpful and always had an answer for my never ending emails full of questions. Someone is on site for the event until it's over in case anything happens or you need anything. It was a nice peace of mind to have and everything went so smooth and so perfectly. We really liked being able to pick our own vendors and bring in our own alcohol, it really helped keep costs low and in budget. We used the garden space for our ceremony and the back yard for our tent reception and back porch for our bar/cocktail hour area. I couldn't have imagined a more beautiful day and am so grateful for Bryn Du and the staff for making our wedding perfect.

It’s good to know that Bryn Du doesn’t lock you in to any vendors or extra fees. You just rent the building, and you can fill it with anything you want for your special day.

It is a great price with a lot of flexibility with how you want you wedding to be. There is no required caterer, photographer, or anything. They do give a list of recommended vendors who have worked there before, but you are not required to use them. You can also have your rehearsal and set up the day before your wedding, which other venues do not always have.

We had also booked the beautiful garden for the ceremony but couldn’t use it because of the rain. Sadly, no refund for that. But Bryn Du was really ideal for us and we were quite happy with our choice! It is beautiful!

I would absolutely recommend Bryn du to couples considering venues in the Granville area. The property is just gorgeous and makes a great canvas for an outdoor wedding!

Bruce and Athena have so many connections in the Granville/Columbus area, that finding those perfect vendors were a cinch! They were also so helpful and communicative beforehand, answering any questions and providing recommendations, but also day of, helping to guide our guests to each part of the day's events. The Bryn Du Mansion was amazing and we would recommend it to anyone thinking of getting married in the Columbus area!

cation. There were times when items weren't communicated clearly with us leading up to our big day. When certain buildings would be unlocked, when we needed to have everything out of the buildings and certain spaces, etc. Otherwise, the staff is extremely helpful and was always willing to lend a helping hand! It is a little odd that the venue doesn't have its own tables, chairs, etc. considering how many events they hold and the rental cost of the property. We were responsible for finding all of our own rentals. However, they do have a list of preferred vendors on their website, which made research easier. The grounds are well-kept, with the exception of a few flower beds that seemed neglected due to the large amount of grass area that I'm sure is the main point of attention. I would recommend Bryn Du to any couple looking for a venue in central Ohio. I would just suggest really nailing down expectations for communication as you sign your contract.

Bruce and Athena were very responsive with emails and phone calls and always accommodated to our questions or if we wanted to stop by! Another plus is you get to hire your own vendors and bring your own alcohol (definitely saved us a lot of money) and it really was our vision.

Bruce and Athena were some of the easiest contacts we worked with throughout the whole planning process, which was so refreshing during a super stressful time (and not true across the board). They were always responsive and attentive to our needs in the months leading up to the wedding and the day of. We had our wedding ceremony in the Formal Gardens, our Reception on the back lawn and our dance floor on the back terrace - it was absolutely beautiful!

ps to me and our vendors leading up to the day. The fieldhouse is kind of a blank slate, which provided an excellent backdrop for personalizing the decorations and entire theme. We had close to 300 guests and there was plenty of space for table seating, a food buffet, an ample dancefloor and DJ setup along with 2 bars and 4 restrooms, so it didn't feel congested even with such a big crowd. We also rented the adjacent Carriage House for the bridal party to get ready and have a sort of home-base for our things for the day, which was definitely worth it. I'd recommend this venue to future couples, especially for larger weddings.

e options to rent out either the Fieldhouse or the mansion, and we actually ended up doing both. It really opened up a ton of possibilities for our day, and we were able to transition guests smoothly around the grounds, and they were consistently surprised with discovering the new areas. This was actually the only venue we toured! It is so beautiful, it has that old-world charm, but is wonderfully kept up and has all modern amenities. The venue is super affordable, which is a huge plus! Even the drive up to the mansion is breath-taking. You will feel like you have stepped back in time. I cannot speak highly enough of Bruce and Athena. They were so, so accommodating to Jake and I. We truly felt welcomed by them, and knew they were invested in us having a great day. Whenever we came to the mansion we were greeted as old friends. They took my Type-A planning in stride, and help to organize and plan alongside myself and our vendors, which I know helped so much towards the success of the day. Planning and having our wedding at Bryn Du was actually FUN! Schedule a visit! You won't regret it, I promise! (Pro Tip-their list of preferred vendors is awesome, definitely review it!)

eady in. We used the entire first floor of the Mansion and were even able to come in the day before to set up! Many of my nieces and nephews loved running around the grounds during our reception. We loved their suggestion to put up photos of our families on the giant mantelpieces, it felt very homey. Even though they usually have two weddings at the same time (Mansion and Fieldhouse), no one had problems finding our wedding and I never felt like we were ignored or neglected the day of. This is a great historical treasure of the area and I am glad we were able to support it and the wonderful programs they put on by having our wedding at Bryn Du!

We used the garden for the ceremony, the mansion for the cocktail hour and the field house for the reception. I would highly recommend having a wedding there. It is a stunning venue.

The great thing about Bryn du is that is an open book -- you are allowed to use whatever vendors you like. Bruce and Athena provide suggestions, but you are able to bring in any vendors you want to use. It's so easy to make your wedding exactly what you want it using your own budget. Can't rave enough about our experience at Bryn du. Highly recommended!!

All three locations were absolutely beautiful due to the wonderful groundskeeping that Bruce and Athena do. We received many compliments on the pure beauty of the mansion where we had our cocktail hour (it was so gorgeous on it's own that it did not really need much decorating). The Bryn Du Mansion Property is also very reasonably priced for a wedding venue. It is a steal. We loved having our special day at Bryn Du and would highly recommend it to anyone who is considering having an event there.
