Here is the email we sent to Kim who helped us book this event, we never heard back from her. Even a sincere apology for any miscommunication would have been appreciated but not to hear back at all really kept up with the overall disappointment... of our experience.
This was the worst group dining experience I have ever had. I have several events to compare it to as well. Once a year I coordinate a dinner for a very large family reunion and at least twice a year I plan a company outing which always includes dinner.
I recently hosted my rehearsal dinner at Bucca di Beppo in the Bally’s hotel and was mortified. The service was so bad, my easy-going fiancé had a panic attack for the first time ever.
By the time salads were being cleared half of my guests, including the bride and groom did not have water. We asked several times, one of my bridesmaids finally had to enter the kitchen because there were no servers around, for water and drinks.
We also paid for drink tickets, we never saw tickets. The manager told us we could have an unlimited amount of beer and wine to compensate for their service. This would've been great if my guests knew this or which wines and beers were included. As it is most everyone there were beer drinkers and no one even knew what beers were an option. Everyone drank house wine all night because they did not want to cause us more stress and ask what the other options were. Where was a drink menu or a server explaining to my guests their options? The tickets seemed like the easiest way to inform our friends and family what was included and not put them in that awkward position of wanting a drink but possibly having to pay separately.
Even after being told we could have unlimited drinks and the waters were on their way, it was still way too long before the waters finally came. They brought out the drinks first when we had most frequently even asking for water to eat our salads with. It was really embarrassing that my guests left their salads on their plates and didn't eat because they had nothin to wash it down with. In addition, when we were given preliminary information there were a few wines included and upon arrival we were only given one option.
If this were a family reunion or semiannual outing I would be more forgiving but this was a once in a lifetime event. This was the first time our friends and family came together to meet. A very stressful situation and was combined with the most horrendous service I've ever received at a restaurant. I tried very hard to just let it go but almost a week later it is the most standout event from my entire wedding.
