shots, and can take an awkward bride and make her feel like a princess! :) He is very intentional about understanding what is important to you for the wedding and even helped us make decisions beforehand about details like the wedding exit, how and when to do a first look, and a list of other things to help prepare us for an easy and efficient itinerary for the day! Without Bud's help we would have been fighting the lighting issues at the ceremony location, but with his foresight and advise we were able to work around some of the issues and get someone in to fix the lighting and it made such a big difference! Bud and Sarah made communication very easy and provided many helpful tips with their articles and personalized questionnaires that they sent in the months and weeks leading up to the wedding so that everything was prepared beforehand! They also took the initiative for organizing our family for the family pictures which involved working out a list of the pictures we wanted and who would be in them a week before the wedding. We had already seen that Bud delivers professional quality photos, but he also adjusted on the fly when our second shooter had to call out because of the flu and he took over both roles without a second thought. Additionally, our wedding was the week before Christmas and yet he delivered ALL of our wedding pictures on Christmas Eve so that we were able to look at them with our whole family! Bud and Sarah are experienced and professional, prepared for all the worst case scenarios, and most of all they care about making your day special and capturing all of the precious moments and beautiful details in a unique way!

I was really picky about photographers going in but kept seeing and liking his photos on social media, magazines, etc. Our photos are a dream come true. Although that's the most important aspect of a photographer, hiring Bud went beyond just the final products. I want to highlight a couple other huge positives: - Bud (and Sarah) gave us recommendations on many different things throughout the process including our videographer (Ardsley Park, we really liked working with Zach!) and entertainment (All About You, Jamie was great!). - Sarah always responded to emails insanely fast and with great detail. - It's clear that Bud has done this a lot and everyone we spoke with in advance was excited when we mentioned that we'd have him on the big day. - I genuinely like Bud as a person and enjoyed having him around on the day-of. Very important considering how much time we spent together. - We received a sneak peak of our photos DURING OUR RECEPTION!! I've never heard of this before but it was so fun. - We received a link the next morning to our sneak peak. There are 86 (!!!!) images. We feel so spoiled compared to everyone else we know. The one (potential) con is the price, Bud is one of the most expensive photographers in the area. However, he is worth every penny and then some. I feel like we underpaid for what we were given but understand he could be out of price range for some people. I cannot recommend Bud enough and am already thinking about flying him out to NYC for big photo moments in the future. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Bud and Sarah, you went above and beyond in every single way.

Prior to booking, we met virtually with over 10 top Savannah photographers to describe our needs/wants (minimal, we were only looking for ~4 hours of photography - closer to an elopement package. We used The Knot/Wedding Wire/online reviews to find vendors). We are a "destination" couple and it was difficult to not be able to meet with vendors in-person; we were iffy from our conversations up until we met Bud. Overall, we definitely meshed with Bud the most and he was more than willing to accommodate our interests. On the day of, Bud blew us away. He has a wonderful personality (is definitely willing to laugh with us!) and always made us feel comfortable throughout the day. Our family and friends were so impressed with Bud that they wanted pictures with HIM! We received our photos in a timely manner that was designated in the contract and they're more than I could have hoped for. 10/10 recommend Bud to anyone in the area. Big shoutout to his wife, Sarah, as well who manages all communication prior to the date. She made the process seamless! Dream team.

You'd think after getting through the wedding weekend (finally!) that I'd want to take a break and not worry about writing any reviews, but I was so pleased with Bud's work this weekend that I wanted to get this out there today in case anyone is looking for a photographer at this second! Bud was a pleasure to work with. He was friendly, organized, creative, and able to adapt. We were working with a few restrictions that may now affect you, but I wanted to share how happy I was with my experience. First, we were married in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. There are hard deadlines on when they'll open the doors back up to the public after your wedding, so I was initially concerned we wouldn't be able to get all of our photos before the crowds started wandering into every shot. We gave Bud a wishlist of photos we hoped to get, and Bud got every one and then some. He didn't rush at all. He took time on each photo, but he was so well organized that we maximized our window. The second external hiccup was a thunderstorm that popped up just as the wedding ended. We were hoping to get wedding party shots inside them move outside to get shots with extended family/friends because of the limited time allowed in the Cathedral. Bud was able to get every outside shot we wanted inside the beautiful Cathedral. Bud's work is phenomenal! I mentioned to my wife on our ride home that, "I don't know how to say this so it doesn't sound conceited, but I looked really good in those photos!" I had to explain that I knew she would be beautiful, but I just expected I'd kinda just be there. Bud really knows how to get the most out of every shot! There were tons of shots of the wedding of course, from all angles. We missed some of our shots in the park next door due to the storm, but we were able to take our shuttle around to a few spots in Savannah that Bud recommended. I can't describe how beautiful those settings looked and how GOOD we looked in them! Bud is super creative, and was able to invent shots on the fly. In a classic example of turning lemons into lemonade, Bud took a shot of my wife and I in the reflection of a puddle on the side of the street that might be one of my favorites! Now you may be asking yourself "how does this guy know that the photos will be any good...they just took them Saturday?" That's a reasonable question, because Bud was snapping photos from early Saturday morning straight through to the final exit at 9pm...when would he have time to show us photos? He provided a photo slide show DURING THE RECEPTION while still taking photos! And I don't mean that he just flipped through the shots on his camera to show us a few, he had a full slide show! I honestly don't know how he did it all - he has to have an invisible clone or something. And since that *must* be the case, then you're absolutely getting a steal by only having to pay one of the Buds!

visit the city was the weekend of our wedding so it had to be right the first time. Bud was fantastic! He really spent the time and effort to get to know us despite the long-distance and that came through in the photos, which were gorgeous, unique and capture the emotion and happiness of our special day. He was flexible and accommodating despite the venue change one hour before the ceremony when our outdoor wedding got rained out. Bud was fun, professional, creative, and a pleasure to work with! He really made the day special, and we couldn’t be happier with our beautiful photos!

Rain was in the forecast so we made a very last minute decision to rent a tent, which turned out to be a terrible idea because the rain held out for the ceremony and our ceremony was dark. BUT Bud managed to capture beautiful, bright photos even in the dark tent. He was also great about finding creative, dry locations for our formals and couple photos when the rain hit after the ceremony. Bud was there shooting all night long. It seemed like he didn't miss a beat. We know this because we have an endless supply of incredible photos of our friends and family on the dance floor. He captured such great, candid, fun moments. In fact, the photo we chose for our thank you cards (and which is our very favorite photo) is a candid. Bud and Sarah were beyond accommodating and flexible to meet our wants and our budget. We loved all of our wedding vendors but we loved Bud Johnson the best! er. Well we received GREAT and not good!!! They were worth EVERY dollar, my family is very large and they like to joke and not take serious photos and that was my biggest fear. Bud let them get the sillys out and then snapped some of our best family portraits! He listed to all the details we wanted to capture and is still the talk of the wedding. He put together a small slide show while we were eating dinner to see what he had gotten so far. He made sure to backup the photos several times throughout the wedding to make sure nothing was lost or deleted! His second photographer he brought in was absolutely amazing as well. He was constantly available via text and email, and answered countless questions from us. On the day of the wedding, he spent the entire day with us. He was professional and funny, knowing both how to be loud and corral people to get family photos, and also how to fade into the background and get the best candid moments. He was up for any location or ideas we had for photos and had a bunch of great ideas for how to get couples portraits after our ceremony. During dinner, Bud edited about 20 of our photos, and set them up at the reception to be displayed for our guests, meaning we had great photos as soon as the wedding was over. Bud's photos are unique, and he has a great eye for color and light. We've already had several engaged couples who attended our wedding ask for Bud's contact information to book him for their wedding.
