About this vendor
Burkestone House is a country manor hosting weddings in Hudson, NY. The estate is an ideal venue for a sophisticated celebration surrounded by the bucolic calm of the Hudson Valley. Located within driving distance of New York, it is an ideal getaway for those seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
Burkestone House is a stunning venue located on an expansive estate defined by rugged natural beauty. Dense thickets of woodland surround the manor and its attendant buildings inviting guests to wander and explore. The manor itself has a long and storied history whose charming wooden facade still stands proud. Tastefully furnished and decorated with stylish floral wallpaper throughout, it is a welcoming retreat for the party to use on the day of events. Couples can exchange vows in one of the property’s many outdoor spaces. There are two barn venues on the property, aptly named Big Blue and Lil Blue for the distinctive hue of their structures. The larger barn dates back to the 19th-century and offers a setting that is charmingly rustic, defined by timber-framing worn by the passage of time. To complement this aesthetic the owners have commissioned handmade farmhouse furniture which adds a further touch of elegance to an event’s decor. Guests can settle for a meal under its rafters or dine in the courtyard space under the gentle rays of the sun. As dusk falls the firepit can be lit or a bonfire constructed on-site, welcoming intimate chats into the night.
The management of Burkestone House welcomes events to the property and can provide information on the region which features orchards, hiking trails, and farm-to-table restaurants. They invite the party to stay the night and avail of the many guest rooms available in the manor. There is also a large apartment space included in the barn. On the day of events, the site manager can help coordinate everything and can even provide a list of local trusted vendors for couples to choose from. The venue’s staff truly takes care of a couples’ every need, and the team even includes a carpenter and seamstress.

Burkestone hosted our wedding in June of this year and we couldn't have asked for anything more from them. The venue is beautiful and the team are amazing. Christopher and Tom were...
perfect hosts, giving us the run of their home and grounds. Katie was a dream to work with: we were both living abroad and we really couldn't have done it without her! She made everything so easy, from putting us in touch with vendors, to co-ordinating the weekend. The team really kept us calm and ensured we had everything we needed, it was clear with were in safe hands! On the weekend itself there was always someone on hand to help out. They were there for the little things and the big things, so that we could spend time with our friends and family. We wouldn't want to have shared the day with anyone else!
We were looking for the perfect venue to have our wedding- when we came across this big blue barn. The second we stepped foot on the property we knew this is where wanted to have o...
ur wedding. The Barn along with the estate house is absolutely stunning. Christopher and Katie, along with the rest of the team were amazing to work with and accommodated all our needs so well. The Burkestone staff ran things so smoothly so we did not have to worry about or do a thing the day of. It was truly a dream come true and we cannot even put into words how grateful we are to of had our wedding here. We highly recommend booking Burkestone Estate as your venue!
It is hard to describe how special of a place Burkestone is. The property is stunning: Landscaped wildflower gardens with many different spots for ceremonies, wandering, and photos...
; accommodations in an impeccably decorated manor house + apartments for ourselves and 18+ guests; and the rustic and charming small barn and big barn for the cocktail hour and reception. We lucked out with the weather and were able to do a lot outside but we felt taken care of knowing the Burkestone team was prepared with a rain plan as well. The setting alone would have been enough but the Burkestone team - Christopher, Katie, Tom, Lynn, and Bob -- took it to another level. This group is so down to earth, organized, fun, and truly cared about making our weekend as special as it was. We couldn't believe how smoothly everything went; we floated through the day without worry because the team had a tightly-run ship behind the scenes. At the end of the weekend, a couple of guests came up to me and said, "this place is like, magical, -- how did you find it?" Weeks after the wedding, a friend who was having trouble with her wedding planner, came to me and said, "I need a Katie” (referring to the day-of coordinator Burkestone includes in their pricing). Though Burkestone is a relatively new venue, it comes across as an operation with many years of experience. Don't hesitate to reach out to them -- we hear they're booking up for future seasons!
Can't overstate how amazing our experience with the Burkestone Estate was. My husband and I felt so taken care of through every step of the process. Burkestone isn't just a busines...
s--Christopher and his team were so deeply invested in giving us the wedding we'd never even dared to hope for. The property is beautiful and the barn is incredibly unique--it's not a cookie-cutter space. So many of our guests said that ours was the best wedding they'd ever attended. It was intimate, and rustic, had an off-beat sense of humor. It was everything we wanted and more. When you book with Burkestone, you're getting so much more than a beautiful space. You're getting a team of incredible humans who are all dedicated to making YOUR vision of your wedding come true.
