The is why, as you mentioned, we do have someone on call at all times for email emergencies and are very prompt in responding to our email threads. Because our services rely on many moving pieces and details, we do prefer, and ask, that all communication occur solely via email. This practice allows us to efficiently respond to all of our clientele in a timely manner, and it guarantees our records of all the “who, what, when, and where” moments in our communication line. As we mentioned during our call, post your appointment, a “heavy handed” makeup application is very out of character for our team’s overall artistry style and specifically for the particular artist that you had, since she comes very highly requested from previous “natural”, “daytime”, and “headshot” specific clientele. It was because of that out of character description, and because you mentioned to us that you were very pleased with the artist in regards to professionalism and service, and that it was more your sole intention to simply let us know of your experience so that we would possibly be able to move forward with our artists in a manner for future “professional headshot clients"; that we said we would love if you wouldn’t mind sending over the images from the photographer when you got them back so that we could use it is a teaching moment for our artists. As a company we would never take a position of artist over clientele, or vice versa, as we will always make it our practice to remain neutral and take any and all feedback as moments of growth and learning. We were thrilled to travel and have the opportunity to work with you again, but unfortunately on March 18th (2 days before your wedding) we received a cancellation email from you stating, “We need to officially cancel {artist’s name} coming to the wedding. Thank you! - Kristine W”. Being that it was 2 days out from your event, your signed contract allowed for us to retain all funds paid; but given the unique circumstances surrounding your particular out of state wedding, we instead made the decision to try and help ease your grief by returning all of your funds to you minus $150 for services that had already been rendered.
