My niece and I visited the Floral Park location today and I had the most amazing time your staff members Rithik and Josh. We were so undecided about what we wanted and they were pleasantly helpful with our order. Absolutely Amazing interaction with the customers. And the pastry is always delicious.
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. I purchased a custom 10" round cake for $212! for a baby shower and it was TERRIBLE, VERY DRY and was as though it was frozen and then taken out. Upon calling them they wanted me to return the cake!!!! It was already cut and NOT EDIBLE. They had me go there with a small piece and proceeded push me around like a yo-yo. The manager Ruth was RUDE, NOT HELPFUL and began speaking in Spanish as though I didn't understand and rolling her eyes.
They wanted to give me a $20 Credit to the bakery!
And told me to come back when the boss is here but they didn't know when he would be there
DO NOT ORDER CUSTOM CAKES FROM THERE
I ordered a wedding cake here for my daughter. It was the most amazing experience ever. From the cake testing to delivery, everything went according to planned. We can't recommend Buttercooky enough!
We got a 3-tiered cake with a combo of several different fillings and cake layers, and Buttercooky did not disappoint. I honestly just wanted a small, simple cake because I felt guests didn’t really eat cake anymore, but my mom absolutely insisted on this. I will give it to her, everyone loved it and there was NOTHING left at the end of the night, all 3 tiers were eaten!!! Our cake tasting was my favorite part, we got to choose as many cakes and fillings as possible and tried out different combos. We were also able to then bring the tasting home to share with our family, which was great. The cakes and fillings were all fresh, moist, and delicious. I loved that Buttercooky allowed us to choose whatever we wanted, and we were able to have 4 different cake combinations within the 3 tiers. The top layer had 2 cake flavors, 2 different fillings, middle layer (extra tall layer) had 3 cake flavors with 3 different fillings, and the bottom layer with 2 cake flavors and 2 cake flavors. There was literally 1 piece left over that was saved for us the next day and it was still moist, fresh and tasty!! They also replicated the picture I provided them, perfectly. HIGHLY recommend.
I am so disappointed to leave this review, as I grew up only a few blocks away from this bakery and spent my childhood eating their delicious baked goods. When my venue included Buttercooky as the wedding cake vendor in our package, I was thrilled. The cake was good! But my goodness, the service here is absolutely horrific.
Every single phone call to this place entails being on hold with an infuriating version of La Vie En Rose on repeat for prolonged periods of time. The person who answers is always a clueless teenager who has absolutely no idea how to answer your question. They will usually put you back on hold, consult with others, come back on the phone, and either not understand your original question or direct you to a department that is not there or not reachable at the moment. So then you have to e-mail. The responses to my e-mails always seemed like the person read the first line of my e-mail and just gave up. The information sent back was never accurate or in response to my question. They never quite understood what I wanted, and could barely get me accurate pricing on add-ons for my cake. When I asked for add-ons they were constantly wrong and we had to keep calling back. When we called because the e-mail didn't answer or address what we wrote, we once again, after a long time and multiple people, would be connected with a manager, who would sound like 2 years older than the teenagers answering the phones and only knew slightly more.
Finally, we got so frustrated with them that my husband and I just went for a plain white cake and had our florist decorate it. We had literally zero faith that what we ordered otherwise would be completed as ordered or well.
The tasting itself was good. They give you a box with little plastic cups of the flavors you select, and you do the tasting at home and e-mail them the flavors you want.
Ultimately, our plain white four tier cake was nice. It was a white cake. It had the flavors we requested. It was delivered. No real snags there.
If you are going to a guest's house or are throwing an event and just need a regular cake or baked goods, go ahead and get things here. They are very delicious (though be advised that there may be a line). If you are getting married, and you have any option NOT to use them, I would not. The amount of stress and wasting of time they caused me is just not worth it. One of the worst vendors associated with my wedding, unfortunately. Hopefully they will take constructive criticism and improve!
This place use to be a very professional customer service, customer pay a lot of money for there cake and the customer service is very unprofessional and nasty the front desk staff that taking your order for cakes when asked for the manager to complain it’s also a hopeless case because the manager is also unpleasant please buttercooky bakery train your staff with good customer service clients like myself spend a lot of money on our baked items and will certainly like some good service !!
We ordered our wedding cake from Buttercooky in Huntington NY. We worked with Dee, came in for a taste test, and went with the vanilla cake with lemon curd and french cream filling. It was so good my guests wanted seconds! Dee made the ordering process very easy. We were thrilled with the results.
We were very pleased with our cake from Buttercooky in Manhasset, it was delicious- some of our guests even asked for seconds! The process of ordering the cake was not simple, unfortunately every employee we worked with at the Bakery was unprofessional.
Came for a wedding cake tasting. The tasting was executed by very young high school girls. We had a specific design in mind, and wanted to consult with a manager or baker— someone who might help us in executing our design.
The girls had to keep walking back to the manager to ask her for a price, if they could recreate the cake we wanted.
Then, our price for a very simple cake was priced at $895– without delivery, without a gift of a small cake for our one year anniversary!
This was the only bakery we had checked out—thank goodness we did not go with them!!!
We received two separate quotes from two different bakeries in the area, $600/$500 for the same cake. We went to a tasting at the place that offered the cake for $600 and it was WAY better than at buttercooky!
Buttercooky’s raspberry mousse (which is what we wanted) was like little square sponges. The raspberry mousse at Dortoni Bakery was light, fluffy smooth.
I’m just annoyed this place couldn’t bother to have an adult speak to us, had mediocre cake and priced us $300-$400 MORE than other places. I would *definitely* recommend looking around at other places.
Amazing , that cake was sooooo good. An amazing Bakery!
The cake was beautiful and tasted delicious!! Absolutely would recommend.
The cake was absolutely stunning. It tasted great. The entire process from start to finish was smooth.
This bakery has been my go to place for the last 20 years or so. I didn’t even second guess ordering from them although their staff is mostly made up of young adults and high school students who are not super knowledgeable about pastries in general. Although the ordering process was fairly straight forward, the pickup process was not. They couldn’t find my order for over twenty minutes the day before my wedding, which made things quite unpleasant. You would think for such an expensive and established business this would be at least computerized. The cake was beautiful and delicious but the overall process was just disappointing.
Buttercooky Bakery did my wedding cake for my Great Gatsby themed wedding. It was very beautiful and tasted amazing. My husband and I cant get over how beautiful every detail was of the cake. My guest raved about how beautiful and tasty it was. Chelsea and Annalee at Buttercooky was very helpful. I had an issue and they cleared it right up for me. I will definitely recommend and use them again!
They did an amazing job. They made a Superhero cake for my wedding. Half classic with white flowers and half four layers of different superheroes. Amazing job.
Our wedding cake was amazing! They executed what we wanted exactly! It was soo beautiful!! It was so fresh and delicious, everyone was raving about it!! We also ordered a grooms cake which was ridiculously amazing. They did great work! Everyone couldn’t believe how perfect both cakes were! The process was easy, we worked with Jackie who was attentive and very helpful Even though we had requested it early, the delivery was right on time! They are the best!
I got married on July 21,2017. My cake was amazing!!! It delicious... the bottom portion was strawberry shortcake... the middle was red velvet and the top was carrot cake! All three layers were phenomenal!!! The cake was moist and flavorful!! We didn't have hard fondant which is usually undesirable... and has to be peeled of or eaten around. The cake was wonderful!!!
We ordered a large cake and 35 cake pops for our daughter's birthday. We ordered the cake pops as favors and they were to be individually wrapped. (Wrapping the cake pops was recorded on the order.) when my husband arrived to pick up the order the cake pops were not wrapped. They told him it would just be a few minutes. He had to wait an HOUR and a HALF for them to wrap 35 cake pops! This made him late to our daughter's party. Then, when we sliced into the cake the filling was wrong. I called the bakery and asked for a manager. The "acting manager" Joann was barely apologetic and told me the real manager would call me in 3 days. They never called. This place sucks. I will NEVER go back there. Don't trust them to get your order right or follow up with good customer service. Do NOT trust them with your wedding!
For my wedding cake we used this bakery. I wanted a customized Lord of the Rings cake and they did a great job! I just had to give them a couple of pictures of what I wanted and from the pics and what I described to them they did a fabulous job! The cake tasting went well and the guest loved the cake flavors we used:)
We got our cake through Buttercooky Bakery for our wedding at Floral Terrace. It came out beautiful, and it tasted amazing! My only other comment is that we asked for chocolate pudding and vanilla custard on the inside, but only received vanilla. The cake was still amazing, but was just missing one requested detail. Overall, great job!
Buttercooky bakery did an amazing job making our vision come to life for our 11/14/15 wedding at the SandCastle in Franklin Square! They were patient and informative about the different options and what flavors go well together and flexible in having different flavors on the tiers.
But most of all, their cakes are delicious! The perfect amount of sweetness, freshness, everything is perfect balanced, our guests loved it! Thank you!
Buttercooky bakes great cookies, I frequently go there so initially I thought I would almost definitely use them to bake our wedding cake. I scheduled a tasting.
Boy was I wrong. My party of four arrived, we sat down and were promptly told that the woman in charge of the wedding cakes was too busy to meet with us, so a server from behind the cake counter would be running the tasting--A little weird since we had a scheduled appointment, but we were there to taste the cake so OK. Note, we could see the wedding cake woman at her desk in the adjoining room but she never acknowledged us.
We started tasting and started asking questions, basic questions, like the prices of various options.
The person serving us could not answer any of our questions. After each question she would run over to the woman behind the desk, (Lorena), ask her the question and come back with an answer. Remember the woman in charge, Lorena, is sitting right in our view, just a few feet away from us, We asked to speak directly with her but again were told she was too busy that the server would find out the answers for us. This woman in charge NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED US!
After a few rounds of this craziness my fiance approached Lorena, called her out for being unprofessional and we left. What a disappointment!
Buttercooky did a phenomenal job on our wedding cake. Not only was it beautiful, it tasted like heaven! I highly recommend this bakery and will definitely use them for future family events.
Our wedding cake was included in our per person headcount with our venue. This was an added bonus and one last vender I had to search for. I made an appointment for my husband and I to go to buttercooky for a tasting, and was excited to get this taken care of. The debate was on, red velvet or canoli cream!
The appointment was set, and we were going to try 4 different types of cake. We arrived at the bakery, and they had no appointment for us, no cake samples were prepared and the young woman we were dealing with gave us an attitude and was completely disrespectful. We ended up working with a manager, who had the bakers bake samples for us to try, but the taste in our mouths was so sour from the experience, that we really were not able to enjoy the tasting.
I had fears that my wedding cake order would not be put through, or lost, but the manager said that she would take care of this. Of course, it was not told to use until this day that red velvet was extra, but we decided to do it anyways.
They also had a book of cakes that were included, so we selected one of those. I had brought a picture with me of fondant flowers that I wanted to include, they charged extra for that as well, but I wanted them so we added that on.
The cake arrived, and it looked ok. It was not like the display picture that they had, and the flowers looked nothing like the pictures I had given the bakery as a reference. To be honest, it wasn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things on my wedding day, but I do realize to some it might have been a huge deal.
The cake was delicious, but the appearance was not what I requested, and the service was not great as well.
Not much went wrong with our wedding planning, so I am thankful, but this experience was unpleasant. I would not recommend buttercooky bakery, and will probably not use them for other events moving forward.
awesome
Very busy bakery - I went in knowing exactly what design I wanted. The taste was delicious!!! Design perfect - they worked with me on the specifics i wanted. Just kinda busy hard to get the baker who does the cakes in a timely fashion
great appetizers
The cake was part of my package from the hall. But they were very nice to work with, since I had a specific idea in mind. It came out gorgeous and everyone loved the wedding cake, which is unusual.
This place is amazing. I purchased the groom's cake from here and as their motto goes "everything is better with butter" and it surely is. We ordered a red velvet cake with an XBOX 360 and controller on top. Everyone loved it as it displayed my husband's personality to a tee. Not only did it look good but it also tasted great. This is our new place to go for everyday cakes and pastries (they are a full service bakery).
Customer service is great. Always busy, but you never feel rushed. So you get good cakes and good service. And the pricing is awesome as well (definitely can't forget that).
We had our wedding at Floral Terrace so this is the bakery they used but we were so pleased! We picked out of cake using several different pictures and the cake was so beautiful! It was delicious too as were all the pastries we had at Venetian hour. I've been eating leftovers for a week! I have purchased their cupcakes prior to our wedding and cookies since. They are amazing and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is serious about their sweets!
Our wedding cake from buttercooky Bakery was so good on our our guest placed an order for the red velvet cake right there at her seat for a party she was having in a couple weeks. The cake was butter soft and all of the pasteries were yummy. Look them up they're in New Hyde Park NY
Buttercooky is our favorite bakery and we knew we wanted to use them for our wedding; however, spending $1,000 on a cake was not what we had in mind. Thankfully, they were very flexible with us. We came up with the idea to do individual 8" cakes at each table. We alternated four flavors among our 18 tables and encouraged our guests to venture to another table if they wished to try a different slice. It was a big hit and cost us $450 less than having one big cake!
Buttercooky was part of my package for having my wedding at the SandCastle, so I didn't have a choice, but was very pleased with how the cake turned out. It was exactly as we asked and tasted delicious. They were great every time we visited them to do cake tastings and we were really happy with how everything came out. They are also a great bakery overall. I bought lots of food to take home every time I visited!
This cake was the hit of the party. I called them with what I thought was a crazy idea for a cake but they made it happen and made it taste even better. My husband is a big Captain America fan so I thought about getting a Shield cake made for him as a surprise to him and our guests. Buttercooky was able to make the entire cake rainbow cookie cake flavored and lined the outside of the shield with red, white and blue rainbow cookies. Needless to say, it was amazing and everyone really enjoyed it. Our wedding cake also came from this bakery as well. It was delicious and they did great butter cream work...not a fan of fondant (gross)!
I love Buttercup's cupcakes and get them every time I'm in the City. We ordered our wedding cupcakes online weeks before our wedding: the website was user-friendly and offered lots of options for our cupcakes, including colors and adding our last initial to the cupcakes.
As I was sick the day before our wedding, my fiance picked up to cupcakes. Though the order was placed in my name, they gave him no trouble and offered their best wishes for our wedding. And, of course, the cupcakes were delicious! What a hit!
We got a variety of delicious relatively inexpensive cupcakes that we put on a tiered cupcake stand. They are easy to work with professional and the quality is great.
