I can’t recommend Buttercream Dreams enough to anyone looking for a spectacular cake for their special occasions! Carrie was wonderful to work with and brought our vision for our wedding cake to life. From the initial consultation to the wedding day, I knew we were in great hands. Not only was our cake absolutely beautiful, the three flavors we selected were delicious as well! Everyone loved it. We are so happy with how amazing our wedding cake turned out!

We got married on October 11th, 2025 and I am so so glad that we chose buttercream dreams for our cake! We also received cupcakes. Everything was delicious but I am so impressed at how she made my vision for the cake come to life! The owner was so professional and worked with us with all our requests. Very reasonably priced and just overall outstanding customer service. If you have any question at all, this company is your go to for any sweets you could ever need. I am a wife, mother to 2, Nana to 1, and work from my home. My shop is located in my home, and we are licensed, insured, and yearly inspected. This allows me to do custom work only, and give the care and attention needed for your special day. On average we do between 80-90 weddings per year in addition to custom cakes for all occasions. I have an assistant that works part time with me as well. I consider myself a very creative person, and love seeing your visions come to life in my bake shop! Though our favorite has always been Red Velvet we chose Pink Champagne cake with Raspberry Buttercream and Almond cake with Blackberry Buttercream in addition to the Red Velvet. part of the entire wedding planning process and we had lots of favorite flavor combinations, it was difficult to narrow down choices but Carrie helped with that as well. We ended up going with a dark chocolate cutting cake with peanut butter buttercream frosting for our wedding cake, snickerdoodle cupcakes (which our guests devoured), dark chocolate cupcakes, and almond cupcakes with almond buttercream frosting. Everything was delicious and Carrie was so helpful with advice on the color of our cake (which was a rich, emerald green) and helping me surprise my now husband with his birthday cake which he loved and was thrilled to have his own cake. She worked great with our other vendors and we found her very reasonably priced as well. Highly recommend her for any baked goods in any future events.

She was able to help combine several ideas I had found online into exactly what I was envisioning, and had SO many traditional and unique flavors to pick from. I was planning my wedding from out of state, and Carrie was even able to ship us some of her most popular cake options, with frosting, for us to do our tasting without having to drive all the way to meet with her! The flavors we ended up picking were absolutely perfect (we got to have 2 flavors, for no extra charge), and all of our guests loved the options. Carrie is a wonderful, local VA vendor who offers great prices and even better service! You can't go wrong working with her. g the cake of our dreams within our budget & providing well beyond what we thought we could afford to her gorgeous attention to detail to our guests rave reviews, she's kind, fun to be around, informative & super-competent & did everything beyond perfectly! The tasting was FUN & generous! It was hard to choose, but we went with Chocolate with Mocha Icing, Lemon with Raspberry Cream Cheese Icing & Almond with Cherry Preserves (or Jam?). All of them were awesome! There are so many things that can go wrong with weddings, but I never worried for a moment about our cake! :D The only thing that went wrong is catering didn't send us home with nearly enough leftovers! ;) Brides and grooms- definitely request all of the leftovers if anyone leaves them, because you'll be sad not to have more of the cake & people will ask for it! ;D And if anyone is wondering if it's worth a drive from Richmond or beyond to Weyer's Cave, a thousand times, yes, it is!

Fast forward to the day before our wedding she emailed me and said that design was also not coming out as planned and she ended up hand piping our design and sent us a picture, I swear it was prettier than any design we could have picked out. She went above and beyond to make sure our cake was exactly what we wanted and kept us in the know the whole time. Her pricing is also very affordable, even with delivering the cake to our venue it was still at least 30-40% cheaper than others we had looked at. Lastly, my husband and I had some cupcakes left over that we took our honeymoon and finally decided to eat them 6 days after the wedding and they were still just as fresh and moist as the day of our wedding!
