We provide the most delicious and unique flavors of cakes, cupcakes and desserts while using natural and seasonal ingredients. We are a scratch bakery and make our own frosting, cakes and most of our toppings. Our ingredients are at least 50% organic, seasonal when possible, locally sourced when possible including from our own farm. We only use naturally derived flavors and colors so when something is raspberry flavored it is also raspberry colored and is made from raspberries. We offer vegan and gluten free options using our own house made recipes. Please don't hesitate to reach out to set up a consultation with our Event Coordinator. We are honored to be a part of your special day! Buttercup Cakes has evolved over 50 years with the Santa Cruz community. Beginning with Jan's Cakes and Buttercup Cakes Cofounder, Jan Wilson, our bakery has evolved from a small woman owned wedding cake business into a local storefront dessert bakery in downtown Santa Cruz and now to a post Covid, small crew dessert service. In these multiple forms, Buttercup has provided desserts for thousands of celebrants in and around Santa Cruz County.

pted for mini cupcakes and our guests absolutely loved them! The cupcakes were fresh, flavorful, and delicious. They were beautifully displayed on trays that matched our wedding colors. They arrived in a timely manner and made sure that our order was complete. We had the opportunity to do a tasting after we booked them which allowed us to sample the many flavors. We loved the cupcakes and found it hard to pick flavors. We highly recommend Buttercup Cakes if your looking for quality cake or cupcakes for your wedding!

For the wedding, the vendor laid out the cupcakes beautifully and I was very happy with the display. I'd listen to the vendor on at least 2 cupcakes/adult, as we had very limited leftovers with this number.
As a side note, we found the gluten free options really moist and delicious, and chose a flavor of these for the wedding w/o caring about the missing gluten!

We also didn't have a cake topper, so they decorated the top of our cake and cupcake stand with extra flowers which was a nice surprise.
