We used Buttermilk Bakeshop for our October 2023 wedding cake for 60 people. We wanted a really delicious cake with rich flavors - we ended up with cookies & cream and double choc...
olate layers. The cake was beyond delicious. I chose a plain design as I decorated the cake with florals and a topper myself. The service, delivery and product were all easy and excellent!
Our wedding cake was absolutely gorgeous and more importantly delicious. Our wedding guests could not stop commenting on how tasty both of our wedding cake flavors were as well as ...
how amazing the cake looked! We had guests who said they never like wedding cake take second slices. We also cannot thank Katy enough for her responsiveness and attention to detail. If you want a beautiful, delicious wedding cake Buttermilk Bakeshop is THE PLACE to go.
Our wedding cakes from Buttermilk Bakeshop were so beautiful and delicious!! We wanted a small two-tier cake with a design to match our venue's ceiling, as well as 3 more "kitchen ...
cakes" to be cut for guests. Buttermilk bakeshop helped us figure out how much cake to get for the number of guests we had, and accommodate dietary restrictions. The two-tier cake was so beautiful and unique, and perfectly matched the green ceiling tiles (photo by Elvira Kalviste). The kitchen cakes were delicious - we took home all of the cake leftovers and have been enjoying them since the wedding. The wedding cake was the "wedding cake slice" flavor - almond cake with lemon curd and raspberry jam, and the kitchen cakes were the "Rocher" flavor - dark chocolate cake with hazelnut buttercream. Both were equally amazing and our guests raved about them!
Buttermilk Bakeshop was a really important vendor at our wedding, because hidden inside our cake was blue frosting - a surprise for us and our guests as we announced our pregnancy ...
and found out that we were having a boy at our wedding! They made it really easy to assess our options and delivered a cake that was exactly what I had hoped for, both in terms of its aesthetic beauty and taste. It was also easy to work with them on the special request for the gender reveal. We found their pricing to be much more reasonable than many competitors, as well, which was a nice bonus. Without hesitation, I would go back to Buttermilk again for a wedding or special occasion.
We chose Buttermilk Bake Shop for our wedding because I had gotten my birthday cake from there the year prior. They were also one of the few bakeries that provided red velvet WITH ...
CREAM CHEESE frosting as an option for wedding cake. Which is my favorite.
It was delicious and beautiful and stress free working with them.
A friend overseas surprise ordered us a wedding cake for our virtual wedding. We were probably just going to go out for an ice cream cone after we were wed b/c I usually find weddi...
ng cake all looks and no taste. Not this one! It was beautiful and delicious! I think I will order a second one to bring to my family when I visit them at a later date.
We ordered pies from Buttermilk Bakeshop for our September 2019 wedding in Manhattan. We like pie more than cake, so instead of wedding cake, we had an assortment of pies for guest...
s. Booking a few months in advance allowed us to order seasonal flavors like Apple and Pumpkin, in addition to their iconic Buttermilk and Nutella Pecan pies. We love their pies and received so many compliments at the wedding! One slight hiccup was that on the wedding day, the delivery person called us with direction issues rather than our venue point of contact, which was inconvenient as we were en route to the ceremony, but we sorted it all out!
Buttermilk Bakeshop made our 3-tiered wedding cake and it was truly one of our best decisions ever! My brother, who actually quite dislikes cake, couldn't resist a third slice, and...
my mom went for a second despite trying to cut sugar from her diet. Pretty much all other wedding cakes I've tasted in the past are covered with fondant that tastes like cardboard, but Sam and Katy specialize in the most delicious buttercreams. After taste testing 6 options in cupcake form, we got to pick 3 different flavor/frosting combos for our 3 layers of cake. Ultimately the wedding cake itself was even tastier than the cupcakes we'd tried. And not only was our cake delicious (seriously, I'm drooling while writing this review), but it was also the most reasonably priced of all the quotes we received. Thank you so much Sam and Katy for your amazing work!
Oh my goodness, working with Buttermilk Bakeshop was the best experience of the entire wedding planning process. Buttermilk Bakeshop made our 200 custom cupcakes and semi-naked cak...
e for our October 2018 wedding and we were so pleased. The team was kind, professional, and so easy to talk to. Additionally, they offered the best pricing and the BEST product out of all the local bakeries we reached out to. I would recommend them a million times over.
