My brother, who is very vocal about the fact that he does not dance, was even out on the dance floor for a good portion of the reception! Many said, "Best Wedding Ever!!" (4) They are professional and think of every detail: Scott walked us through every nook and cranny of what our wedding reception music would look like, asked us questions that we hadn't thought of, and was an amazing Emcee! st the ambient music as guests were trickling in, and I knew we had to have them. You could tell they "just got it" with regard to what music is needed at district parts of a wedding. Sure enough, when we looked up the band, read others' reviews and heard some demos online, they were by far *the best* band. Though I hadn't been looking initially, I of course, looked up other bands to compare and nothing/no one did. Carol was wonderful in helping us schedule Buzz and the band at super short notice (they happened to free that weekend, and I mean like <1 months before the wedding). They even worked within the physical space we had and accommodated a request for a smaller band set based upon our needs. Both she and Buzz helped my husband and I decide what kind of music would be best fitting for our vision of our wedding, how things would go and though I could chose songs to hear throughout the night, I really opted to just have Buzz and the band decide what made sense based upon the crowd and how the night was going. To say they "made the night" is nothing short of the truth. Throughout the evening and, now, months after, we hear from guests how wonderful the band was and that they were the best other guests have heard at weddings, too. They got people dancing, singing, and loving all kinds of music to dance to and generally be together with. Having Buzz's expertise and wedding know-how as support really calmed my anxiety--if you think about it, this is his expertise--they do weddings all the time and I, hopefully, will only experience being the bride once. Knowing they were on board helped me relax and enjoy the night, and most of all, their talent and professionalism made ours an incredibly memorable night. We sincerely hope to work with them in the future and wouldn't hesitate to contract with them for future family and/or work events. Wouldn't think to look anywhere else. We'll be forever grateful we found them.

Buzz met with us a month before our wedding when we were there for our walkthrough to ask some questions and make sure he was pronouncing our names right, etc. We gave him our must have list and request for house music and he played it all just as we requested! He also offered to play our first dance song (Leon Bridges, Coming Home) which was not on his song list. I was a little nervous but can honestly say he cfrushed it. It sounded so good that I forgot that it wasn’t the track until I caught a glimpse of him singing (ha). The band was energetic the entire event and our guests are still talking about how much fun they were. Buzz was also flexible when at the end of the night our send off car was late and they played a few more songs as our wedding coordinator figured out where the car was. I would highly recommend Buzz and The Blue Cats. They are super easy to work with and are the best value you will find in Austin!

z (Scott) assisted us with quite a bit more than just their performance. Leah ( pianist) played the music during our procession. Buzz did a great job of hosting/MC of the wedding. The also assisted us in our grand exit by performing a second line!! Several of my guests commented that this was one of the best weddings that they've ever attended. The band or the music at a wedding can make or break it. Everybody was on the dance floor regardless of age. Buzz and the Blue Cats have such a wide variety of songs that they can play. We went through the list and highlighted a couple of must have songs! They listened to our taste and played incredible music for four hours! I highly recommend this band if you're looking for music for a wedding or event. I would definitely use them again!!! Maybe our 10 year anniversary?

I wasn't able to see them live before booking them, so was a tad nervous since my husband and I are BIG music people, but we were totally blown away. They were awesome at putting together a perfect mix of songs for us throughout the night, played our "songs" perfectly, and just were an absolute delight to work with. Zero complaints. BOOK THEM. at I was making the right decision. I really wanted live music throughout our wedding since we were getting married in the Austin area (i.e. Live Music Capital of the World). Buzz was very accommodating in learning new songs when needed (even different versions of songs we preferred). Both Buzz and Carol helped us secure our ceremony/cocktail hour musician as well as put together last minute personalized CDs that we played in the shuttles from Downtown Austin to our wedding venue at Ma Maison. I would highly recommend Buzz and the Blue Cats to any couple getting married that wants to offer their guests a memorable music experience.

wedding. We had a 400 person reception with guests of a wide age-range. I was initially worried that their "sound" may not appeal to many of our guests who traditionally may have preferred more of a "bollywood" sound (my wife and I are both Indian). We ended up hiring them for a few reasons: 1) Scott (the lead singer) and Carol (the manager) are just the NICEST people in the whole world. We felt so well taken care of throughout the whole process. We're so happy that they were a part of such a special day in our lives. 2) They were within our budget (seriously, they have one of the best deals, particularly for the world class quality that you are getting). 3) Last, but not least, they just sound amazing. Despite our worries about perhaps not catering to a "bollywood" crowd, we just knew that their blend of classic and modern songs would appeal to most people. And the wedding reception proved us right! Our guests were dancing all night long. They read the crowd perfectly and we all left the evening wanting even more (despite the encore)! As a band, they dress sharp and added a wonderful level of elegance to the whole event. I must also mention that Scott MC'd the whole evening perfectly. He took the time to speak to me for over 90 mins a few days before our wedding to get the timing of all the events (and the pronunciations of all the names) just right. They learned all the songs that we wanted for the wedding and played them perfectly. We simply can not say enough good things about this band. Would highly suggest hiring them (we would do it again in a heartbeat). You will not regret it!

So courteous, and even volunteered to play later than expected because our wedding started later than expected. Even weeks after my wedding, I'm still getting comments about how great they were. If I could do it all again, I wouldn't even look at any other band. This is the one!

We chatted prior to the wedding to discuss genres we liked best, and small details for during the reception such as reception timeline, dances, etc. They worked directly with our reception venue coordinator for questions such as band space, set up, etc. This was a huge help and allowed me to have one less thing to worry about closer to the wedding day. The band set up was great, I was really impressed! Buzz is the MC for the entire reception as well, which keeps the party moving smoothly. They also have a great selection of songs that they play during their few short breaks. I do not think you can find a better band for such an affordable price! By choosing Buzz, we did not have worry about any music selection from start to finish at our reception, they took care of everything! I highly recommend, it was a great dance party!

From Carol’s initial enthusiasm and help walking us through our decision to use the band, to our meeting with Scott and Carol to plan, we experienced warmth and professionalism that could only come from years of experience combined with genuinely good character and a love for what marriage signifies. In our initial meeting, Scott helped us imagine what the reception would look like, choosing songs we would love and that would work well in the context of various different moments of the proceedings, and getting our input on exactly what we would like in terms of the MCing of the event. When we didn’t know what to say about a decision—which was often!—he gave good advice from his oodles of experience, sharing what had worked in the past, esp. in terms of getting the audience’s attention for things like cutting the cake, and for the general pacing of the event. As for the actual reception, everything flowed amazingly well, and it was SO MUCH FUN! We couldn’t have asked for a better blend of fun and romantic oldies, classic pop and rock and soul tunes that everyone was singing along to. Scott did what he said he was going to do, playing the songs from his repertoire that we had discussed and working in some special requests that were meaningful to us. We got so many compliments on the band, and we heard some people (including the manager of the venue!) saying they would like to book them for other kinds of events. The technical expertise of each musician and the quality of the setup and sound were unquestionable, but the way Scott led them and subtly and winsomely helped the evening move along—was truly outstanding. I can’t think of any aspect of their performance that could have been better.

As the evening progressed Buzz and the Blue Cats became more prominent in the atmosphere as they encouraged and invite many of our guest to begin to dance, though always having a respect for the space with regards to the volume and awareness that there were many who were continuing conversations outside of the dancing. As the groom, I came from an area that has it own regional genre of music that is not as familiar in the area of which Buzz is from and where we got married. Buzz was extremely professional as I expressed a desire to have “Beach Music” (I am from North Carolina) be a part of reception. While Buzz was not initially familiar with this genre, he did some research and did a nice job of incorporating that genre of music into the the reception. I know that it made many of our guest who came from North Carolina feel right at home. Buzz was also helpful in picking the right music for specific dances. While we brought some ideas to the table, Buzz offered his years of experience to help us shape our ideas so that they flowed seamlessly and made the impact that we desired. I would highly encourage prospective brides and grooms to go with Buzz and the Blue Cats. They are highly professional and will provide you with atmosphere and music genres that you are looking for and you and your guest will go away having had a blast and many special memories!

They learned a special arrangement of our first dance so that it would be the same tempo as we practiced in dance lessons. Two months later, all my guests are still talking about how great our band was. If they are available on your day, book them now!

As an added bragging bonus, just to emphasize how dedicated Buzz and his team are, some young kids at the reception really wanted a certain song played. Obviously with a DJ this is no problem, but a live band already has the setlist made, practiced etc.. Buzz looked it up on his computer and within minutes they played the song for the kids, and quite perfectly I might add. They truly were an unforgettable part of an unforgettable night. My only regret is we couldnt spend every second dancing the night away with our friends and family. Im trying to get friends to have them at their wedding, so I can enjoy them all over again.

If there were any issues, we will never know! They can obviously handle any issue with ease and leave the bride & groom worry free. After just one meeting, Buzz and Carol took care of all logistics and never needed to contact us about unnecessary details! I'm also very grateful for our in-person meeting with Buzz. For us, we wanted our reception ambiance to represent who we are. They nailed it! It was relaxed and fun and fast when needed and soft and romantic when needed. It was perfect. e is so versatile, too. From Beatles to Motown, he sounded amazing. #2 was feel - We talked to Buzz about what we wanted and he delivered, but the reality is that he would have done it anyway. He started with good conversation music and then warmed things up after we arrived and then filled the dance floor. Everyone had fun that night and praised us for the band. #3 the band leader must be a MC of sorts - Buzz was classy and very understated - almost seemed invisible, until he needed to direct the crowd for the cake or the dances. I really liked that he did not draw the attention to himself and try to be funny or loud (which is what I would do with a microphone in my hand). They are clearly one of the best wedding bands in Texas, and I hear they are doing weddings in Dallas, Houston, and Central Texas, now. I have been to a bunch of weddings the last few years and I still think Buzz was the best. Plus, Carol, who you will talk to on the phone is incredible. She ensures all of the details are taken care of, and she has a killer smile, too. Book this band!! They are awesome.
