NILS WAS ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING!!! THE BEST VENDOR WE HAD HANDS DOWN!!!! I cannot express how amazing Nils was on our wedding day OMG. I found him through a bridal group on facebook in the early stages of wedding planning and I knew right away I had to book him. My now-husband is a huge fan of EDM sax and Nils and I came up with the idea to SURPRISE him during our first dance. Nils called me a few weeks before the day and we planned everything out - he was going to come in for the surprise during the second drop of our EDM first dance song and then play the rest of the song from there. Mind you, our song does not originally have saxophone in it. But my god, Nils came in, surprised my husband in the best way imaginable (his reaction way more than anything I could’ve dreamed of), and KILLED IT. He freestyled the whole thing and THE SONG WAS EVEN BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL. He is the definition of a true talented musician!!! The only way I could describe it was pure magic in those moments of our first dance. It was the most special part about our day, and both me and my husband continue to watch our first dance on repeat after our wedding. To top it all off, Nils played beautiful music during dinner, keeping us and our guests entertained the entire time, AND stayed ALL NIGHT LONG and played during our party music!!! Besides us as the bride and groom, he was the life of the party!!! Every single guest raved over and over again how amazing he was. My husband told him at the end of the night if he wasn’t married already he would’ve married him LOL. Nils was absolutely incredible through and through and we cannot recommend him enough for legit any occasion you can have a saxophonist for. THANK YOU NILS FOR MAKING OUR WEDDING AMAZING!!!!

sounded great via social media, but of course you do not get the energy & full acoustic experience that way. Well I have to say, book them NOW!! They sounded amazing, brought SO much energy, & played all the songs we wanted. Our guests were RAVING, and some even asked them for their business card! For a band, they are also reasonably priced, and you can expand the band by adding more instruments if you'd like. We also found comfort in them being a part of the BVTLive group in case a member got sick or could not attend, another person could be swapped in [vs if you book a band that's not part of an agency]. Overall, 1000/10 band!!

We hired DJ Patrick Ryan from BVTLive! and never looked back. From our first call we knew Pat was exactly what we were looking for. We were honest about the kind of vibe we were going for, and the wide swath of guests our wedding would include ...
(age, region, background, tastes, family, friends, colleagues) and Pat immediately picked up what we were putting down. When it came time to plan the flow of the day and songs for the occasion (processionals, recessional, first dances, entrances, dancing, etc.) Pat took all of our recommendations and ELEVATED it. He found edits and versions of songs that elevated the occasion of the ceremony. He was super communicative and available the month before the wedding, and provided numerous versions of my first dance, bridal entrance and father/daughter dance since I had lots of edits/requests for the songs. He was responsive day or night, and so patient with me.
Throughout the evening, he (and his partner JR) had the most infectious energy that got everyone in a celebratory mood, clapping hands, standing, doing the hora with us and finally dancing. Oh wow, the dancing. Pat took our recommendations and made the most amazing mix and remixed and blended the songs into a mashup where you didn't know where one song ended and another began, it was seamless. You got the best of every song, and we heard almost (if not every) song was requested within 90 minutes of dancing. He was accommodating to my family and the groom's family for last-minute requests.

Nils helped to get us in contact with AJ Luca (cocktail hour singer/pianist) and DJ Pat who DJ'd our reception. It was a super easy process, we explained that we are a young couple with some older family members, so our vibe was we wanted a fun party at the beginning of the night for the older folks, who could go home around 9:30pm so the real party could start. And that is exactly what we got.
Aj was the perfect compliment to our mansion style cocktail hour, she played sweet love songs which helped to warm the guest up before the reception began.
And DJ Pat was the PERFECT choice for our DJ. He did an amazing job mixing the older, and newer songs through out the evening. Our friends were coming up to us throughout the evening saying how much fun they were having with the music. Pat did an awesome job mixing the music which hyped the crowd even more. As the bride, my goal was to dance the second dinner ended until the second they kicked us out. Goal was achieved.

One of the best features that BVT offers are their live showcases. We were able to listen to some of the bands we were interested in and then narrow it down from there. We originally booked The Strangers; however, in April 2020 we made the difficult decision to postpone our wedding due to Covid-19. Although The Strangers were no longer available for our new date, Paul at BVT helped us go with Midnight Hour. Since we had never heard them play, we were a bit nervous; we know now how crazy that was because Midnight Hour was INCREDIBLE. Nils, the event consultant and Mark, the band leader were so kind, responsive and fun to work with. Mark and his band members have decades of experience and it showed. He is a consummate professional and musician. It gave us such confidence as we got closer to the event as he really knew what he was talking about and listened to the vision we had for the event. The experience showed also in the way the band worked so well together and the fun they seemed to have as well.
We had a special request for the ceremony music and the band nailed the instrumental versions of these songs, especially “The Final Countdown” that my new husband walked down the aisle to. ike folks don’t remember the food but they would remember the music! As we were working on booking with Nils, he was super helpful as we tried to decide on the band and also narrow down our date. We were engaged for just under a year and really only started planning nine months before the wedding, so we were super lucky that Big Ric was available the same day as our venue! We went to the showcase and were blown away by the band, and then Ric came over to introduce himself and explain his role in the reception. We both felt really confident that he would keep the party going so we wouldn’t have to worry about everyone having a good time - he would be on top of it! Additionally, Nils was super helpful as we had just a DJ at our ceremony since we had a few songs that we really wanted to incorporate and also needed sound setup. For our ceremony, Ric worked with us on the run of show, starting with the wedding party entrances. Our parents and wedding party were so excited to dance their way in, and then Ric bust into “California Love” as we entered the reception. We didn’t have a traditional wedding with first dances with our parents, opting instead to open up the dance floor with the mother of the bride & bride dancing to Dancing Queen. From there, the dance floor was packed all night. Ric did a great job of keeping the energy up - he had the father of the bride help kick off a set, and kicked off a bunch of other surprises that really made the night and that had all of our friends and family talking about it afterwards and making our reception so memorable for us! ire night. Working with Sid to craft our "set list" was so easy and so much fun. The Sid Miller Dance Band has an incredibly broad range: they play old, new, every genre from disco and funk to electronic dance music...and, by request, they'll learn those special songs for your evening to the extent they're not already familiar. Their sound and energy are incredible, and this is coming from a couple who knew from the start that their music would be the most important vendor. Our guests are still raving at the Sid Miller Dance Band and like we said to Sid at the end of our wedding night, we hope they don't mind travelling to NY to play our (mostly NY) guests events - the calls are coming! Thanks again to BVTLive! and, more importantly, Sid and his team for a night of dancing and celebration we'll never forget. A+ 11/10.

Kurt Titchenell
President
Kurt Titchenell is the founder and President of BVTLive! He is also the bandleader, and co-creator of the award-winning dance band, Jellyroll. He has been performing with the band since 1980. Kurt began studying music at an early age, leading him to pick up the trombone at age 15. Kurt has studied at Settlement Music School in Philadelphia and continued his studies at West Chester University. Kurt's dedication to his profession is evident in every aspect of his professional life, and is known as an entertainment expert.
