they were amazing! we got to taste all the different fillings and cakes before hand and they executed my vision perfectly and communicated with my florist directly for the flowers. the cake was extremely delicious and they offer an anniversary cake so we got to take our top home and eat it right away!

Our cake surpassed all expectations. I was absolutely floored by how beautiful it was. We asked for a cake straight out of the 1940s with an elegant look and they absolutely nailed it! Plus it was delicious!

Awesome cake! Tasted sooo good and was absolutely delicious!! They also make you a new 1 year anniversary cake. So we got to take the top home and eat it right away. Yummmmmm

They were able to offer different flavors for each layer, and they let you taste every flavor of filling and frosting so you can make an informed decision. Stop!! You have found your baker for your wedding needs. My wedding cake was so good. I really did not care about the cake, I just wanted it to taste good..by the dozen made it look good, taste good, it was perfect. Also, they designed the best groom cake, it was his golf bag. Everyone loved it. I did not know it would be a replica of the bag...I was shocked when I showed it to the hubby. It was beyond my expectations. I recommend By the Dozen Bakery!!!

they were wonderful from tasting day to delivery!

I first met with Martha for a cake tasting a few months before our wedding. Everything was delicious, and I was impressed with the presentation of the samples. When I contacted her a few months later, I had changed my mind from the original cake I had shown her and sent her a new picture I found on Pinterest. She was able to do buttercream frosting rather than fondant, which I was very pleased about! Our cake was absolutely perfect, not only did it look EXACTLY like the cake I showed her, but it tasted just as fabulous! We had a marble cake layer with bavarian creme filling, and a white cake layer with cannoli filling. Everyone at our wedding told us how delicious it was! I wish I could upload a picture to share how beautiful our cake was! I'm so happy with Martha and the staff at By the Dozen and am so thankful for their attention to detail and cake-baking perfection!

We could not be happier with our wedding cake from By the Dozen. We sampled many cakes in the Rockford area before making a decision. Working with By the Dozen was a fantastic experience from start to finish. By the Dozen has a wonderful set up with many cakes on display at the bakery. I was able to see examples of different designs, sizes, and shapes without looking through pictures. They even took me into the bakery and showed me cakes they were actually designing. They also suggested cost saving methods such as using sheet cake to supplement the actual cake. The tasting was wonderful, as they provide examples of many different fillings and frostings--more than any other tasting we went to. They worked with me around design, listened carefully, looked through pictures, and made suggestions. They also had a wide variety of beautiful, free cake stands. They also worked with our florist to incorporate flowers into the cake. Our final product was amazing. The cake was absolutely delicious. An added bonus is that By the Dozen provides a free first anniversary cake which we are greatly looking forward to. Overall, By the Dozen provides a fantastic experience and product at an affordable price!

By the Dozen bakery did a phenomenal job for my New Years Eve wedding. Their design was absolutely beautiful! We had provided a picture and a color sample and they did the rest. The "art" work of the cake was gorgeous and they were so open to ideas. We had a purple wedding cake that was topped by a large New Year's Eve - type globe - it was to mimic the ball drop in New York. They had no issues and when the cake was delivered it was better than I had ever imagined. It tasted great too! We had three different layers/types and every piece was moist and tasty. The cake was a huge hit - cut and uncut! I highly suggest By the Dozen!

By the Dozen Bakery did a wonderful job with my wedding cake on October 18, 2014. The cake was beautiful! I had three different layers and each layer was a different flavor. They have lots of sample cakes to help pick out what design you want on the side of the cake. I supplied fake butterflies and they did a great job of incorporating them on the cake (they didn't over use). Just a few butterflies on each cake. They also decorated the table with organza and lights. The cake was delicious. Nice and moist and the filling was tasty. I highly recommend By the Dozen Bakery for your wedding cake.

I had ordered just a simple small cake to cut for our wedding, the only special detail I had wanted was an iron man coming out of the cake for my husband. I had shown the person that I had met with exactly what I had wanted and she said it could be done. When my cake was picked up there was a sticker on our cake and it was not at all what I had wanted. I was very disappointed in what our cake looked like.

My partner of 26 years and I used this bakery for our wedding cake. The cake was amazing, but even better was the respect and enthusiasm they showed us. The owner and staff were completely "on board" with our wedding and offered great suggestions for our theme and cake design. We would highly recommend them to everyone, but especially to same-sex partners.

By the dozen created some beautiful cupcakes for our wedding reception. They are also very easy to work with and created exactly what we had in mind for our cake.

They made the perfect cake and it was so good. I was excited about the fact I got the fountain I always dreamed about but didn't think we could afford. They did a wonderful job with the cake and the table set up it looked awesome.

They created our wedding cake, which was small (8-person cake), and some cupcakes for the sweet table. I worked with Martha and sent emails with photographs of how I wanted the cakes to look. She nailed them! Not only were they beautiful but they were delicious. It did take a while to get in contact with her about things but overall great vender for sweets.

I loved everything about my wedding cake and it tasted awesome. We brought in a design that we wanted on it and it was perfect!
