Caberfae Peaks offers our couples an experience many venues can only dream about. You’ll find our charming resort tucked back into the woods of the Manistee National Forest. Offering all the services you’ll need for this momentous occasion our team will take your celebration to a whole new level. The road leading here might end at our resort, but it is here where the magic begins.
Imagine the beauty & splendor of a structure so grand it might just take your breath away. Unlike no other, this is our Blackmer Lodge. Featuring cathedral ceilings, large timber trusses, a 2-story stone fireplace, dance floor and an upper level dining room with balcony, this 16,000 sq. foot reception lodge can seat up to 200 of your guests, plus the head table.
Think of all the fun you could have celebrating this time with your family and your closest friends. It can happen right here in our Mackenzie Lodge. Our 39-room hotel is located just a stone’s throw from the Blackmer Lodge. Factor in our 9-hole golf course, swimming pool, hot tub and fire pit, and we guarantee the good times are endless during your stay.
There’s no reason to leave either. Our Beatie’s Bar & Grill located in our hotel is open for special occasions such as this. We’re prepared to manage your rehearsal dinner or your day after breakfast. We even offer a light lunch and drinks the day of for your early arrivals. Then, it’s off to the ceremony.
We offer 2 different ceremony locations to choose from. A beautifully landscaped courtyard just steps away from our reception lodge, or indoors, in front of the grand stone fireplace. Either site is the perfect site to exchange your vows.

From dinner to desserts, our Chef has been applauded by many for preparing hands down the best wedding cuisine in this part of northern Michigan. as so accommodating and lovely, especially our coordinator, Missy. We even got to go to the top of the hill for some beautiful shots!
If you're able to snag a date with these guys, go for it! Food was wonderful, they took care of almost everything, and we're so happy we have a place to come back to and ski for our semi-anniversaries 😄
Only downside is it was one of the hottest days of the year, so I can't even count it against them but it did get warm in the lodge even though it's air conditioned.

o Caberfae and the venue is beautiful! After viewing a few venues, my husband and I were fearful that we wouldn’t be able to afford a wedding within our budget. Caberfae is reasonable priced, beautiful, and a full package. They only host one wedding a day and each couple gets a wedding coordinator, ours was Jessica. We loved her! She was always available to answer questions and made sure any changes were approved by us. On our wedding day, there was a chance of rain and we were lucky to have the option of an indoor and outdoor ceremony venue. Luckily the weather held out and we were able to have our ceremony outside.
Caberfae runs like a well-oiled machine. Between the timeline, vendor list, and seating layout they provide, the wedding was incredibly easy to plan. Often times I felt I was missing something because it shouldn’t be this easy! I showed up on the wedding day and put out a few personalized items, while Jessica and her team prepped everything else. My bridesmaids and I enjoyed the huge bathroom to get dressed in while my husband and his groomsmen got ready across the street. As the bride, I was able to enjoy the day while Jessica took care of coordinating with the DJ, photographer, dinner staff, and bar staff behind the scene. It was incredible! I would change nothing from that day.
From the recommendation of Caberfae, we hired Tie the Knot for florals and decorations; Melissa had all of the decorations and florals set up before I arrived in the morning. She has great prices and having her set up/take down everything is worth it! Although my husband and I did not love most of the food served at the Taste of Caberfae, we wish we had the option to sample the whole menu, we ended up asked the vendors what their favorite meals are and went with that. We selected the bacon jam chicken, steak, broccoli, and potatoes hash for dinner. It was a hit; all of our guests enjoyed it. Our guest with dietary restrictions loved their plates as well! We weren’t excited by the dessert options at Caberfae, so we ended up purchasing our desserts from a local bakery. Caberfae received the dessert delivery and had the cake and pastries platted for my guests.
We loved the open bar option for guest and appreciated having hotel rooms onsite to keep our guests from having to drive home. We rented out the first and second floor of Caberfae, it was fully booked with our 90 guests. Many guests also stayed across the street at Coyote Crossing or at Airbnb’s.
All of our guests had an amazing time. Weeks after the wedding, I had guest approach me and tell me how great it was. Some said it was the best wedding they have ever attended! It was all thanks to Caberfae and Jessica!

We truly can’t say enough good things about her.
We turned our wedding into a full weekend celebration for guests traveling from all over. On Friday, the wedding party enjoyed a round of golf, followed by our rehearsal and dinner at Beaties, and welcome drinks by the pool. Waking up on property Saturday morning and getting ready there was such a treat. The guys even squeezed in another round of golf! We loved having snacks, mimosas, and lunch while getting ready, and it was so convenient having everything right there. Being able to run back to our room to grab something or freshen up throughout the day made everything so easy and stress-free.
The ceremony and reception were perfect. The property looked stunning, the table settings were beautiful, the food was delicious, the champagne toast was wonderful, and the late-night pizza was a huge hit. Caberfae also works with amazing vendors that truly make the day seamless. A family member made our cake, and it was cut free of charge. The décor and floral vendor was fantastic as well.
From the gorgeous property to the incredible staff, we can’t say enough positive things. Jess even stepped in to bartend so Steve could drive us up for sunset photos, which meant so much to us. One of our favorite parts was having the pool open until 2 a.m. It made for the perfect after-party following the reception. The next morning, our guests also loved the brunch at Beaties.
We highly recommend Caberfae. Our weekend was unforgettable, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

’t their full time attraction being a ski resort as well. I had my wedding October 2025 and a guests daughter is now looking into having hers there because of his raving review of the place. The venue is absolutely gorgeous with amazing amenities. Having the hotel steps away makes for a perfect event where nobody has to drive. The food was excellent! We got the short ribs and chicken Marsala and it was lovely. We missed the once a year tasting offered so was unsure what to expect, but were once again, blown away. We used all recommended vendors (Melissa for decorations of course, JESSICA FREDERICK for photography absolute doll of a woman highly recommend, their #1 used dj company) and everybody knew exactly what to do. Extra extra shoutout to Allie the front desk manager who is a boss at her job, made my experience smooth and delightful :) as well as Jess G and her husband for making everything perfect. It was all so easy going and care free! Please book them and please enjoy :)
(If you have any hopes to take photos on top of the ski hill, ask ahead of time! They still made it work for us, because they’re amazing!!! but to make everything easier, ask ahead)

Being several hours away from home, we appreciated the numerous on-site services available, including catering and bartending for both the rehearsal dinner and reception, as well as convenient lodging. Jessica was always accessible and thought of every detail, maintaining a calm demeanor and a desire for everything to be perfect for us and our guests.
One of Caberfae's standout features was the Taste of Caberfae event, where we and our family could meet local vendors and sample their food choices. Our guests praised the staff (especially the chef and bartender Steve!) throughout the evening for their outstanding hospitality. The late-night pizza was particularly popular, and everyone enjoyed it. All our guests had an amazing time at our wedding, and they continued to rave about it long after the event. first look. (If you are open to it, we highly recommend this on their timeline, it was one of our favorite parts of our wedding.) The staff is very kind and helpful, it shows that everyone there takes pride in what they do making your day go as smooth as it can. They are willing and able to answer any questions and provide advice that is incredibly helpful. We did not use an additional planner and doing the wedding ourselves we were so grateful for the structure Caberfae provides. Missy not only assisted with the day of planning but was wonderful throughout the planning process and even helped run our rehearsal the day before. We were able to enjoy extra time around the fire by having our rehearsal dinner with Caberfae as well. Allie coordinated our hotel block and was always very friendly to work with. Our friends and family were impressed with the entire day commenting how nice the staff was, the food turned out amazing (including dietary restrictive plates!), and the hotel was very cozy and clean. The highlight of this venue is certainly the ability to make a weekend out of your wedding. We did a room block for the entire hotel the night of our wedding (39 rooms), and booked about 10 rooms the night before our wedding for our wedding party and rehearsal dinner guests. The pool/hot tub/fire area were kept open after our wedding reception where we had an after party. The hotel manager, Allie, was so helpful throughout the planning process and constantly kept us updated on the status of our room block. For reference, we had 139 people attend our wedding and we filled the room block no problem. So many of our guests have reached out to us since and let us know how much fun they had.
Other perks:
-The dance floor has benches built into the walls along the edges, so when guests needed a break from dancing they were still right there at the dance floor.
-There's a beautiful trail behind the hotel with a bridge- this was the perfect private little spot for our first look.
-Although you can't ride the ski lift to the top, it made for a fun opportunity for couples photos during our cocktail hour.
-They have a great "dietary plate" for vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free, etc. guests.

We wanted that northern Michigan vibe, and the lodge feel of the venue was exactly what we envisioned. Also, the fact that it's a ski and golf resort means we can return to the place where we got married, which just makes it that much more special. The staff was incredibly friendly and ensured all our guests felt well taken care of. The food was exceptional, and the overall experience made it a day we and our guests will cherish forever.
Our wedding day coordinator, Jessica, is an absolute rockstar, and she actually played a huge part of why we chose Caberfae for our special day. Jessica is who we met with when we came to Caberfae for the first time to tour the venue. Her warmth and kindness immediately made us feel welcomed and we just felt that instant connection that Caberfae was the right place. Leading up to the wedding, Jessica was incredibly responsive and helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was on track. On the actual wedding day, Jessica was on top of everything, actually a couple steps ahead! From the rehearsal to the post-wedding cleanup and even the morning-after breakfast, Jessica was there every step of the way. She coordinated every detail perfectly, and her team worked seamlessly to create the most magical day of our lives. Throughout the entire process, neither my husband nor I ever felt overwhelmed, thanks to Jessica's expertise and guidance, she was truly there for us during it all. Her attention to detail, ensuring everything was set up beautifully, directing guests, and regularly checking in with us made us feel cared for and at ease.

le weddings with in our family here and each one has been flawlessly. From start to finish it was the most perfect day. The venue is stunning. You pay for your plate, and bar and do not pay a venue fee, which is very nice. They provide catering and a bar tender and they work with an outside vendor for decorating and flowers and she was perfect. Our dj that we got was also very familiar with how the resort worked and their process. The only hiccup we kept running into was lodging, it was complicated for us. But that was such a minor detail. I would recommend Caberfae Peaks in a heart beat.

Missy was very thorough at explaining all the details of the wedding events at Caberfae. The day of the wedding was incredibly carefree. Missy moved us right along through our evening with perfect timing, and also took care of our guests in guiding them through the night as we moved onto different stages of the evening. Again, it was just a perfect, carefree day. I will always be filled with gratitude looking back at our wedding weekend. The quality Caberfae staff, our wedding coordinator Missy, and the beautiful venue cannot be matched!

It is definitely a cool place to get married but we had quite a few issues throughout the wedding. First, they did not set out enough chairs for the ceremony so we had to delay it ...
about 15 minutes while they found more. They drove a golf cart full of chairs into the ceremony site and then proceeded to knock part of the fence down. During the reception, 2 wedding crashers showed up in their golf attire. When asked to leave the guy refused. Kendra, the lady who was supposed to stick around throughout the wedding in case we ran into an issue was nowhere to be found. We decided to go talk to the front desk for help, and they said they know one of the kids, and that he is a really good kid. That was it... My father in law tried to make the guy leave and it turned into chaos as the guy said he wouldn’t leave until he finished his beer. He was then forced out and it nearly turned into a fight as he was escorted outside. He was screaming and getting into the face of multiple people walking him out. The cops came and the guy ran down one of the streets near the venue. At this point, a few of our guests ended up leaving our reception. Kendra was still nowhere to be found... The last thing isn’t much of a deal compared to the wedding crashed situation, but was still annoying. We wanted to offer pizza and fries at the end of the night for the few guests that stayed the whole time. We were told that they could only have fries and pizza if we paid for every guest on the list. Didn’t make much sense to me. Due to the lack of eateries in the area, guests ended up eating sandwiches out of the hotel vending machine :/
We still had a good time but unfortunately you can’t think back to our wedding day without thinking about everything that went wrong.

from start to finish. We looked into SO many wedding venues across the state of Michigan, and Caberfae beats them all, and can I mention is the most affordable as well. With Caberfae's affordable pricing, we were able to stay within our budget and invite roughly 200 guests. This venue can accommodate large weddings and can also be arranged for more intimate smaller wedding parties as well. I have been in 7 weddings myself, and have had the pleasure of attending a large amount of weddings as well, and I truly have never experienced a more organized staff. We had the pleasure of having Missy as our wedding coordinator and she made our whole process stress free! Missy was so dedicated, thoughtful and genuine throughout our whole planning experience. She was always available to answer any questions we had throughout the planning process and help us brainstorm different options to come up with the best solution. She is truly the best! The whole staff at Caberfae is dedicated, professional, and will make sure your day runs smoothly from start to finish. Another perk of this venue is that they have a resort on property to accommodate guests to stay at! We would do it all over again if we could, and we love that we got married at a venue we can return to and enjoy as well! I cannot say enough positive things about this venue and their amazing team. The timeline of the wedding was perfect as well. Missy and staff were so organized that we did not have to worry about a thing. The venue was gorgeous. We received numerous compliments on our choice of venue. Not only that, but having the hotel right across the way from the reception made for an amazing time. I cannot recommend Caberfae enough. They really made for an amazing experience.

y was it a perfect fall day in the middle of a gorgeous Michigan forrest, but it was perfectly ran by the Caberfae staff. I didn't even have time to stress, and I'm a big stresser. Missy and her team were outstanding and my whole wedding weekend couldn't have gone smoother. Missy is so passionate about what she does, and wants not only the bride and groom but each and every guest to enjoy their time there. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better team to work with, Missy specifically. With the renovated hotel, the hot tub and fire pit, the beautiful golf course, the breathtaking exposed wood lodge, exceptional service and the delicious food, it was a weekend my husband and I, and all of our guests will never forget!

e. We knew we were on a budget, and were hoping to work with a venue that would make our lives as easy as possible.
I scheduled a few tours for a single weekend, the first of which was Caberfae. We had a hard time picturing the ski lodge as wedding venue, as we had spent much of our dating years skiing there. However, by the time we pulled out of the parking lot, I was emailing other venues cancelling our tours.
From the first moment I reached out to this venue, I was completely "wowed" by how friendly and responsive their staff was. From there on, I was never disappointed! Missy was assigned to us as our wedding coordinator. She was spectacular! She was organized, very experienced, and genuinely seemed to love her job working with brides and grooms!
It was so nice that this venue had an onsite hotel where our family and friends could stay the day of rehearsal dinner, and the night of the wedding. It was so fun to extend the festivities with our loved ones at the hotel! We received countless compliments on how beautiful the venue was, as well as amazing feedback on how great the staff was at Caberfae. Everything ran seamlessly!
Want to work with a venue that supplies it all? Then Caberfae is the right place for you! The food was great! The bar pricing was phenomenal. The hotel was so accommodating as well (hello hot tub and fire pit!). We left with no complaints, and are so happy we chose this place to celebrate our wedding day!

oint, I had searched for a wedding venue for nearly a year and was slowly losing hope of finding one that fit our style and budget. I feel lucky to have found Caberfae when I did because over a year out and there were few dates remaining for the 2019 wedding season. I would say that it was a combination of its "up north" appeal, the phenomenal pricing (which was far below many resorts in the area) and our coordinator Missy that helped us in making this huge decision.
Looking back on our wedding day now nearly two months later, everything went exactly as I could have imagined it. The day was flawless, the food was tasty, the bar was stocked and the service impeccable. Many of our guests mentioned that our wedding was the most seamless and smoothly ran wedding they had ever attended, not to mention how convenient it was to have everything all in one place. All I can say at this point is many thanks to Caberfae for helping our day come into place and our dream wedding into reality.
Anyone looking at having a wedding at Caberfae Peaks will not be disappointed!

She made sure that I was set before she headed out for the evening, too. The entire wait staff was professional, quick, and there to answer any questions that the guests had about the food or alcohol. You really can't beat Caberfae and you WON'T be disappointed.

hotel, and the entire staff was INCREDIBLE. Literally EVERY need we had, they jumped to accommodate! Not to mention, Caberfae was STUNNING. We’ve been married over six months and I am STILL getting comments from guests that it was the most beautiful venue they’ve seen. (And I agree!)
The food was DELICIOUS and so easy to choose! We opted for the cheesecake as well as a dessert bar, and we did buffet style for dinner. The buffet was SO FAST. Honestly. We had over 200 people and, I kid you not, everyone had their food within 20 minutes of us starting! One of my favorite things was also how affordable everything was! There were so many venue that’ll charge you just for the space and breathing their air! With Caberfae, everything is included! We didn’t have to find any outside food, and any other vendors that we needed they had EXCELLENT recommendations for! For everything that they are, they could definitely ask for more. (But hopefully they won’t!)
Go visit and fall in love with Caberfae. When we visited, we were so impressed that we booked on-site! :) And I cant say enough how happy I am that we did! Perfect, perfect, perfect!!!

We want our guests to eat together and to participate in each segment of the evening all at the same time. It makes for a fun night. We credit our team for that. Their years of experience and their love for what they do is undeniable. We are delighted the two of you fell in love with our resort and booked us. What a pleasure it was!

escribe Caberfae weddings in one phrase, it would be "One Stop Shopping." Caberfae thinks of EVERYTHING you may need, and makes it happen! They cater their own food, which is delicious, and then invite all their local vendors from the area to their taste testing to meet with you. This is the best idea ever, I spent half a day at Caberfae tasting yummy food and found all my vendors needed for my wedding. From photography, videography, DJ's, photo booths, decorators, florist, and much more, they make planning your wedding hassle free. All of their outside wedding vendors are awesome to work with as well. Only downsides to Caberfae is their limited amount of hotel rooms on site. I had to stay off site at Evergreen Resort in Cadillac about 25 minutes away. The resort there was very nice though and had plenty of rooms to accommodate a 150 guest party from out of town. Second thing to think about is that there is not a cake baker in Cadillac... I had to bring my cake in from Grand Rapids, where I'm from. Other than those two things, the wedding was worth every penny at Caberfae. I would highly recommend going there for your wedding!

d Nathan's wedding. Unfortunately, you did pick a date where our hotel was already full. That was the downside as we would have loved to have had your guests spend the evening with us. Still, what a wonderful day it was. The vendors we recommend are top-notch aren't they? We love when our couples use the professionals in this area we suggest. They are fabulous and together we all make a great team as we've worked together for many years. We do our best to alleviate the stress of wedding planning for our couples. I'm so happy you were able to take advantage of all we have to offer and that you loved it. Our best to you both!

ng brunch. We thought so, and many of our guests commented, what a great wedding weekend it was. We think the venue and incredible staff at Caberfae Peaks, certainly were a large part of the reason for this!
We didn’t realize this until the weekend began, but being able to stay on property and have the rehearsal dinner, as well as the reception on site, certainly added to the great experience. Our guests were able to mingle together before and after all of the official activities ended. The Caberfae poolside area was a perfect area to accommodate the informal activities and provided a relaxing atmosphere for this.
We can’t say enough about the food too! It was very good and also exceeded our expectations. The rehearsal dinner, the reception, the Sunday brunch all were delicious. The items that stood out were the Walleye, beef brisket, green beans and the Sunday morning waffles with the fresh fruit and variety of toppings.
Specifically, we wanted to mention some of the staff that stood out during the weekend. The night manager, Marvin, was so patient and kind to us as we enjoyed socializing in the pool area on both Friday and Saturday nights. And when the frantic bride could not locate her wedding day jewelry the night before, he kindly unlocked the reception hall and helped us locate the bag, while searching by flashlight! Also, the supervisor, Jessica, helping to clean up after the reception, was very accommodating as we were gathering our personal decorations. Then, at Sunday morning’s brunch, she was there again and was so nice and helpful as we were moving the wedding gifts out of the brunch area.
Lastly, but certainly not least, working with Missy was an absolutely wonderful experience! She was so knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire weekend. It was easy to see she enjoys her role at Caberfae Peaks, with the enthusiasm she showed for our wedding, even though she sees so many weddings there. We appreciated how much she reached out to us throughout the weekend to ensure things were going OK, or if anything was needed. She has a great attention to detail which helped make the entire event a wonderful experience for all, especially the bride and groom!

lee's wedding weekend was going to be a very special time, and what an incredible weekend it was! I am delighted that all of their family and their friends had a fun time and felt taken care of. I have to agree that we do have a special group of people that keep our resort rated with 5 stars. Caberfae is blessed with a team of professionals that not only love to work, but love what they do, including our culinary team. Chef Curtis is awesome! zed. Missy and her whole team did a great job tending to my needs and my guests. We even had a rehearsal dinner at Beaties Bar & Grill inside the resort the night before and the food and service was also perfect. I highly recommend Caberfae for a wedding venue. I also recommend using Melissa Walker for your flowers. She was recommended through Caberfae and I was more than happy with my bouquet and my girls bouquets as well. Ruthann Segovia was my cake lady who is also recommended by Caberfae and she took my very unique topsy turvy cake idea and made it exactly as I pictured it and it also tasted delicious! Thank you again to my wedding coordinator Missy Smithwick, Chef Curtis, Jessica Browser, and all the banquet and bartending staff that played a role in making my big day perfect.
