About this vendor
Cabin Heaven is a private mountaintop wedding venue located near Asheville, North Carolina, designed for couples who want an intimate celebration surrounded by nature. I wanted to talk about my experience with The Cabin Heaven and how appreciative I am of Lacy and Zan. We live in WNC and found this beautiful place online and instantly knew this i...
s where we wanted to have an intimate wedding with our families. We met Lacy and Zan and they showed us the property and went over the different packages and we booked a date and planned our wedding! Then we were suprised with finding out I was pregnant with our sweet little angel and due very close to our wedding date. After having several complications during this time and being unable to continue with our wedding date, Lacy and Zan were so understanding and helped us reschedule to a new date in the fall after the birth of our baby. Fast forward to Hurricane Helene, which occurred a week before our wedding. The devastation in the area was unlike anything anyone could have anticipated. With no power, no water, road closures, business closures, catering closures, and even our photographer and family in TN no longer being able to access us, we obviously had to cancel the wedding date. As a first responder I was extremely busy with the storm and Lacy and Zan gave us the time we needed to recover before trying to plan another wedding date. They have been so kind and understanding throughout this entire process and in helping us postpone, reschedule, and accommodate our needs throughout this natural disaster and I would highly recommend them to anyone and am so thankful we chose this beautiful venue ran by such kind people. We were finally married this fall and it was beyond beautiful!
We got married on Oct 11th, and it was AMAZING! Lacy and Zan are amazing to work with, they make you feel like you’ve known them for forever so nothing is awkward, they made my wed...
ding so exciting and took care of all the stressful stuff! They’re amazing people and work great with you on stuff. The cake was fantastic and the flowers were beautiful! Couldn’t be more happy with them doing my wedding. Not to mention the beautiful views!
My husband and I originally planned for an outdoor wedding on this beautiful mountain top but rain had different plans. Lacy and Dan were in contact with me the whole week before ...
watching the weather and discussing the best plan. The weather got to a point where we knew we would have to move it in the cabin. Thankfully they made the cabin absolutely beautiful the decor was amazing the fire was going and it was amazing. The photographer we got through them got amazing shots and even made photos in the rain stunning. I wouldn’t change a thing about our wedding day!
Had my wedding here with all my loved ones at Cabin Heaven and oh my goodness, where do I begin. It was a dream come true! Brides, do not hesitate to book this location for your bi...
g day. From the Mountain Views & the perfect cozy cabin to end the night in with your hubby, to the awesome hosts that made the day go smooth, we were so happy and glad we stumbled upon this GEM. Our friends and family who flew or drove miles to be here are still talking about this beautiful day. We had it catered, white tent with lights, photo booth, dance floor, all taken care of by the hosts (Lacey and her husband), ALL ON A MOUNTAIN. So if you are second guessing- don’t. They will make your dream day possible! THANK YOU AGAIN CABIN HEAVIN!
Despite the beautiful mountain views, and based on my experience with this venue, I will not recommend it for weddings.

IN SUMMARY
Their cancelation policy is deceitful, nothing will get your money back after their 3-day grace period. They will not cancel the event even after emergencies, they say on their site they may return funds on emergencies – but is not true read below the reason why we decided not to marry there and rather lose our $1,000 deposit. Safety is always first, especially after the devastation that Hurricane Helen brought.
Communication with them is challenging, the only time we had an actual call was before we paid, and they gave great customer service then. Once the money and 3-day cancelation period passed calls were not returned, emails took a long time to be answered, and when answered not all answers were addressed or different topics were covered.

I wish I could say this is a great venue, but any bride to be needs to run. Do not fall for the gorgeous views or price. You get what you pay for. The owners are the most unprofess...
ional people (I’m sure you’ll see an example with their reply to this), almost refuse to communicate (they’ll “respectfully disagree”), and then blame the customer. It will take weeks to get an email response and then only answer half the questions (they blame the busy season for the reasoning to take 10+ days to respond). They will say they will get back to you and never do. I had made my deposit with this venue and had asked for a contract on multiple occasions and was never given one. I had asked simple questions regarding guidance of what they offer in their package and they suggested I upgrade and spend more for their planning service when I’ve planned it all on my own. You will be treated as an inconvenience and an annoyance. Glad I switched venues before it was too late.
I originally planned to have my wedding at cabin heaven last year but due to the COVID we decided to elope at another location and just held a wedding reception here August of 2021...
.
Pros:
-An absolutely breathtaking view and affordable overall!
-The owners were flexible when there were some miscommunications from the beginning concerning the contract. We were not aware that we had to be off the property by 10pm, and that she was going to charge us for any guests over 100 when we initially agreed to, and invited more the year before. She changed the contract to allow us to do what we originally discussed.
Cons
-Really from the beginning, communication and professionalism were not evident. The biggest frustration we had was that we were told for over a year they were planning to build a restroom on the field for guests. They said if the restroom was not finished they would provide “restroom trailers” for the day of. I specifically clarified that we did not want a porta potty for our wedding celebration and when we arrive the day of- that is what they had. When I brought it up to the venue owner she dismissed me and ignored my frustration and said I could pay $1200 to have a trailer delivered that day which is obviously impossible to arrange 5 hours before the wedding. Had I known before that there would be porta potties we would have gone with another venue.
-The venue owners had a popup camper that was on the property that they were lodging in and it was not moved for the wedding day and we were not expecting that as it did not look professional.
-I left an important item at the cabin following the wedding. I reached out to the owner and she shared they were going to the cabin and would look for it. After several days I did not hear back regardless of several texts sent. I called the owner and she said they found it and we could meet. I offered multiple opportunities to meet and we agreed on a timeframe. Once I didn’t hear from her at all during the timeframe, she asked to meet up after the timeframe during the only time I was unable to meet. However, I said I was willing to leave my event and meet her and shared a central location to meet and then I never heard back from her. I sent emails and texts and said I was willing to meet up or do a drop off in town. The only response I received was two days later. The owner shipped my item to my address and sent the receipt of 1-day priority shipping which was almost just as expensive as the item that I left. They then decided to subtract the cost of the shipping from our security deposit. There was ample communication and willingness on my part to pick up the item and how this small situation was handled was very frustrating and not professional whatsoever.
The point I am hoping to get across is that while it is an incredible location, you get what you pay for. We ended up spending the same amount of money as a venue with all the amenities because we had to bring a lot of stuff in. Here you have a cabin, a field and electricity. It is simple and that is what we wanted and signed up for so if that is what you are looking for then great! It was the lack of communication and passive-aggressive actions from the owners that cause me to not be able to recommend this venue to a bride who is hoping to enjoy a stress-free wedding day. Again- I truly hope the best for this venue and hopefully, they may take our feedback and improve because it really is a beautiful place with a lot of potential.
I had my wedding ceremony at this site about 3 weeks ago. I chose it because having those stunning mountain views was important to me, and it certainly did not disappoint! It was a...
n absolutely magical location for my big day and the pictures turned out perfect - exactly what I was hoping for. I got ready in the cute little cabin with some family members which was a beautiful space as well. I would recommend this site to any bride looking for an outdoor location with views that will blow your guests away and leave you with photos to die for!
