We took a little risk hiring The Cakabakery to cater all our wedding desserts without having ever tasted their baked goods (since we’re from out of town), and WOW…our risk definitely paid off!! We ordered way more than what was necessary, but people were leaving our wedding with to-go boxes FULL of desserts because they just couldn’t get enough of ‘em! The only thing I’d note is that their dessert bars are huge, and could easily be cut in half and still be plenty for one person to eat. Overall, so yummy and so easy to work with!

We used Cakabakery for the cakes for our wedding on 9/30/2023. We ordered an 8" cake and 3 dozen cupcakes for our reception after trialing many flavors over the course of a few weeks. The team at Cakabakery was so accommodating, letting me adjust my order up to a month out from our event. Everything was absolutely delicious!

Jason and his staff did an awesome job for our desert table at our daughters wedding 6/10/23. So many guests asked who the baker was and thought the deserts were absolutely delicious! Her cake was gorgeous and her vision was executed spot on, a work of art! Thanks Jason and staff!!

We ordered cupcakes & cookies from Cakabakery for our big day and everything looked & tasted amazing! We would highly recommend Cakabakery for anyone looking to have a fun desserts table (where everything disappeared by the end of the night)!

Cakabakery did an amazing job with our wedding cake! We were able to pick up some cupcakes to taste-test and chose lemon, chocolate, and vanilla. The buttercream flowers were beautiful, and several wedding guests told me how much they LOVED the cake. Plus, they were able to avoid dairy and soy allergens.

We got our wedding cake custom made from Jason and wow, it was STUNNING! We talked about doing something different for dessert, but for some reason I had it in my head that I wanted a tiered wedding cake (When else are you going to have a reason to have a four tier cake? Life is short) Beyond being beautiful, every flavor combo was delicious. They did such a great job of every aspect. Looking forward to eating that top tier on our anniversary! Professional and fast communication throughout the process. Out of everything it was honestly one of the easier details to coordinate, such a breeze! 10/10 a great bake. Thank you again!

Cakabakery recently did the desserts for our wedding and we are so pleased they did! Not only are they some of the most delicious cakes and cookies I've ever had, but the design and variety of options went perfectly for our large wedding. It is hard to pick between the carrot cake and lemon berry, so we got both for our cake! The desserts were highly praised throughout our evening, and it was such a delight to hear our out of town guests finally get to experience our favorite bakery!

Cakabakery has always been a favorite, so hiring them for our wedding was an easy decision. Our cutting cake was simple and beautiful (and of course delicious), and all of the cupcakes were amazing as well! They handled delivery, had cake stands available to rent, and allowed for flexible numbers & flavor decisions from signing of contract to finalization before the wedding. Our love for Cakabakery continues!

The Cakabakery did a PHENOMENAL job with all of our wedding desserts! We ordered a small cake to cut in addition to mini cupcakes, cheesecakes & cookies. Everything was so so delicious - we got so many compliments!! I loved that they had vegan options for cupcakes to accommodate some of our guests. Not only was everything so tasty, but the set up they created looked stunning!! Jason was also incredibly kind and helpful prior to the wedding by email and it was great to meet him the day of the wedding! Thank you so much! Highly recommend.

We had a great experience with Cakabakery for our wedding! We ordered a small cake for ourselves and cupcakes for our guests. After our to-go tasting we knew that we wanted to go with Cakabakery, their flavors are amazing! They were communicative and delivered our order on-time.

We ordered our wedding cake and cupcakes from the Holland location. At first, I was not sure how this was going to work out. They contacted me three separate times trying to get my deposit even though I had already payed. Then, the day of the wedding they were later than our agreed upon time and my day of coordinator had to call them to get an ETA. However, the cake and cupcakes itself turned out beautiful and delicious. I guess that is what matters.

Jason and Cakabakery are miraculous! The flavors were delicious - we ordered 3 flavors of cake pops and they were all eaten by the end of the night! Our wedding cake we took on our honeymoon with us to enjoy. Super happy with service and wonderful experience working with them!

I ordered my wedding cake from the Holland location of Cakabakery in October, and it was absolutely beautiful! I provided them with general photos of what I was interested in and they knocked it out of the park! I also ordered sheet cake to be served to my guests and that was delicious as well. I would definitely recommend!

Our wedding cake was delicious! We had to quickly find a new bakery after our original closed down and Cakabakery was fantastic to work with! They were helpful and quick to respond. At our cake cutting, my husband’s first words were “my god that’s delicious” 😅 their delivery was right on time and the cake turned out exactly how I pictured it!

The most delicious cake and cupcakes ever! Went with the champagne/strawberry, banana/peanut butter, and chocolate/chocolate combinations, all of which I highly recommend and all were decorated beautifully. They took care of cake stands and displays for us at the venue, and everything worked out so well. We will be back to your bakery storefront soon!

WOW! Cakabakery deserves 6 stars if they'd let us give it to them!! They catered our dessert bar (cupcakes, cookies, and our wedding cake) and were a HIT with our guests. We live 3 hours away and we would drive the 6-hours there and back for one of their cupcakes! Everyone was so friendly to work with and they made our vision come to life! Cannot recommend them enough!!

Super easy to work with! We had our guest list cut in half due to COVID issues and they were very flexible and accommodating! And the cake was AMAZING. We had lemon blueberry for our main tiered cake and a vanilla and a chocolate sheet cake. Everyone was raving about it! I wish I could have had the whole lemon blueberry cake for myself! They also absolutely nailed the simplistic look we were going for. Highly recommend!

We used Cakabakery for our wedding cake and gluten free cupcakes! Their cake tasting was great and they were so friendly and flexible about it (we had to do a from home tasting due to schedule) and their flavor options were more exciting than other shops we tried! We loved how our cake turned out and our gluten free guests couldn't get enough of the cupcakes! Communicating with them wasn't quite the easiest (the only reason this isn't a 5 star review) but I just hope it's something they can work on and it shouldn't deter anyone from using them!

We worked with Cakabakery (Grand Rapids location) for our wedding cake. We sampled 3 total bakeries and Cakabakery was clearly the tastiest cake! We selected an almond cake with buttercream frosting. They were great to work with when we had to postpone our wedding due to COVID-19. Our guests raved about the cake! Thank you Cakabakery!

We worked with Cakabakery West (Holland) and they did a great job on our wedding cake and desserts! Everything looked and tasted amazing! Our guests loved the cake flavors and variety of desserts. Our cake also looked exactly how we wanted it...very beautiful! We will definitely be stopping by to get some cookies, cupcakes or some kind of treat the next time we’re in the area!

We took days deliberating as we didn’t take it lightly to leave a poor review, especially when many small businesses are struggling during the pandemic. But we feel it was necessary that other wedding couples know what our experience was. The wedding cake is one of the center pieces of any wedding & our experience with Cakabakery caused our wedding planner & party an undue amount of stress on the wedding day. Our early interactions with Cakabakery were fine – we found the flavors we liked and settled on dates. Cakabakery has several positive reviews, but they also have a number of negative reviews which we wished we had paid more attention to as they were reflective of our experience. There were numerous things that went wrong on our wedding day: (1) Timing/tardiness – we were told the cake would arrive anytime after 8am; our ceremony was at 4.30pm & the cake arrived at 2pm. While this may be okay, if Cakabakery requires a 6-hour delivery window, they ought to mention it as our wedding planner/party were scrambling to contact Jason & his staff. (2) Ability to be contacted – as time was running short before the ceremony, members of our wedding party/wedding planners were frantically trying to contact Jason or his staff via phone, email and FB messenger. We were not able to get in touch with anyone till mid-afternoon. Several friends went to Meijer and were rush ordering a new wedding cake. We were not told of the debacle and we received an account from several people the next day. When we debriefed with Jason a few days after, as we believe there are two sides to every story, he told us they are not open on Sundays and because it was a holiday weekend, they were not easy to reach. We were surprised this was an excuse. (3) Professionalism – the staff who turned up late to deliver was rude and unapologetic. Jason's reason was the staff was not a “people person”. If that's the case, have someone else deliver the cake. Jason seems nice enough, but he was tone-deaf for a business owner and not surprised at what happened. When one of our family members talked to Jason, he was not apologetic, but rather cavalier about having great reviews from others. (4) Taste/Quality – Jason prides himself on having the best caliber cakes & decorators in Michigan. While the cake tasted ok, the decorations were amateur and missed the ball from photo examples provided. It also looked like 90% of the cake was left undecorated and the sheet cake was nearly frozen in parts. We have lived in cities across the country and around the world and we appreciate high quality craftsmanship, but our cake was not so. We have had cheap, basic cake from stores such as CostCo which have been much higher quality than Cakabakery's. From the service & quality, Cakabakery might be ok for a weekend drive-by for cupcakes or birthday cakes. Unfortunately, they were not up to the task for our wedding cake. It may be conceivable that they had an off-day for our wedding, but their lack of understanding, empathy and professionalism reeks of a mediocre bakery. We're hoping this review will be constructive for Jason and his staff as they work with future couples. Unfortunately for Cakabakery, many who attended our wedding are in the catering & wedding planning business in the GR & Western MI area. There was immense disappointment in the quality & professional attitude of Cakabakery & hence, it will be unlikely that Jason nor Cakabakery will be recommended for future events involving us.

Cakabakery made my wedding cake and it was beautiful! They made the whole process easy and of course, it was delicious! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a wedding cake or wedding dessert orders.

If you do not go with this company YOU ARE CRAZY! They nailed our cake and everyone LOVED our cupcakes we got. They are extremely affordable and we are so happy we went with such an amazing company!

We decided to use Cakabakery for our wedding dessert and are thrilled with our decision! Their cake was a huge hit at our wedding. Our guests continued to tell us how much they enjoyed the cake even weeks after the wedding was over! Our semi naked chocolate and vanilla buttercream wedding cake turned out beautiful and delicious. Our guests LOVED the confetti cake. We also received several comments about how delicious and moist the vegan berry cake was! We were pleasantly surprised at the amount of comments we received from our guests about the cake and we’re grateful to Cakabakery for helping to give our guests a good experience at our wedding.

Working with Cakabakery was a breeze! Everyone was super friendly, prompt, professional, and the cake was delicious. We ordered a small cake for just the two of us and it was exactly what we asked for. The entire process was quick, simple, efficient, very reasonably priced, and they even delivered it to our reception venue, which was a huge help. Highly recommend them for anything dessert related!

Our cakes were absolutely stunning. We had a groomsmen cake that looked identical to the picture we provided which my husband loved! Our wedding cake was exactly what I had envisioned from the outside as well. The cake flavors were mixed up however which wasn’t a huge deal as they tasted amazing! The variety of flavors and the quality of the cake is perfection at Cakabakery. I just wished the flavors were matched the correct cakes.

We loved our cake from Cakabakery! (And all of the other treats we sampled whenever we were in the shop to talk about our cake.) Everyone we worked with was very helpful from determining the right amount to order to offering up design ideas and flavor combinations. The design they made to incorporate our wedding invitations was perfect, and the cake was delicious!

Cakabakery was so easy to work with and they made our tasting fun! We weren’t sure on the flavor so went back in later to try specialty flavors and buy them. They gave them to us for free and said it was still part of our tasting! So sweet! Highly recommend them!

The Cakabakery is absolutely wonderful. Everything we tried was beyond delicious. We had them do our wedding cake for the bridal party and we also had them bake 38 dozen cookies for our desserts. Their cookies are melt in your mouth cookies and were still gooey even after having sat out for the whole reception - even though they didn't last that long at our reception! The owner Jason makes everything with so much love and they really care about making their customers happy and they put their whole hearts into it. Their desserts are delicious and beautiful. They were above and beyond our expectations. Our wedding cake was decorated perfectly and absolutely gorgeous - it was exactly what we wanted and looked like it came out of my Pinterest board. I highly recommend the Cakabakery for everything dessert related - they are phenomenal!

Both my bridal shower and wedding cake were beautiful and delicious! We are still getting compliments months later! They recreated my floral invitation for my shower on a strawberry filled vanilla cake and our wedding cake was vanilla with white frosting that eventsbyicandy added greenery to. I absolutely loved both cakes and highly recommend for any event. It was also very convenient that they offfered cupcakes to take home and taste on our own schedule.

Cakabakery worked with me to make a small 2 tier cake for my wedding reception, and I could not have been happier. They were quick to respond to my request, allowed us to sample a variety of flavors before choosing our two, and the cake was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

We worked with the Cakabakery in Holland and they were great! We had three flavors: Guinness Chocolate, Almond Cherry and Salted Caramel. All of them were so good! Our guests raved about them! We tasted a lot of different bakers from Lansing area to Grand Rapids and they had the best flavors and frosting, hands down of the ones we tried. Our cake was gorgeous and decorated exactly how we wanted. I highly recommend if there is a certain flavor you want to have them make you a 6 piece cupcake order to try and also get their tasting box! We ended up stopping and getting cupcakes whenever we were in town (we live in DC) to try different flavors. All of their flavors were so good! I highly recommend them for your cake! They were easy to work with and cake was amazing!

Our wedding cake was beautiful and delicious! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was because there was a little miscommunication and loss of information of our order between their Grand Rapids location and their Holland location which is where their cake decorator is. They sent over most of the information, but forgot to include our inspiration photos which wasn't a big deal, I just sent them to their Holland email. They claimed I wasn't charged for my specific cake shape, which I knew I was. We sorted it all out and at the end of the day I got the cake I paid for and it was stunning and delicious! I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again!

I have never had such amazing wedding cake! Our guests couldn't stop commenting about how much they liked our cake and wanted seconds! With the help of Amy, we were able to completely customize our cake and design to our liking. I would highly recommend Cakabakery!

The Cakabakery team did the most amazing job with both our wedding cake and groomsman cake. They were a dream to work with! I picked Cakabakery for my wedding cake because of a recommendation from a friend and I'm so glad I did! I told them what my colors were and a general idea of what I wanted so I had no idea what to expect until the morning of my wedding. I was blown away! We used Cakabakery for our wedding we had a NYE wedding with mixed metals for colors. They made an absolutely gorgeous silver and gold cake for us which was more beautiful that what I had hoped for! They also did cupcakes for us and were able to accommodate our request of putting them in clear to-go boxes. We received so many compliments on the unique flavors, they were soooo yummy!
