Cake Ann

We hired Cake Ann for our wedding in Gloucester in July 2023. They were accommodating to dietary restrictions (gluten) and made a beautiful GF cutting cake, in addition to two separate flavors of hydrangea styled cupcakes for our guests. Inga was very familiar with our venue [Cruiseport], which made planning easy and convenient. Thank you, Inga!

Inga is simply the best! She was amazing to work with and gave several suggestions on the best way to approach the dessert bar we wanted! She recommended something creamy, something salty, something savory and something tart. With this combination, the dessert bar was a hit. We were nervous we would spend money on the dessert and no one would eat it because they would be dancing. This was not the case, there really was not much left! Inga even suggested that we make a trip to Gloucester for our anniversary every year and we can order a cake like the one we had to relive our wedding day! We loved this recommendation and definitely plan to take her up on this!

Cake Ann made our wedding cake & dessert table pastries, and we could NOT be happier with how it all turned out! Inga & Amanda were extremely kind, professional, and have a true talent. Our cake turned out beautiful and exactly as we’d imagined. Our dessert table pastries were fantastic and we ended up bringing home the leftovers to enjoy the next day! We chose cake ann for our wedding cake and it was the best decision we could have made! The cake was absolutely beautiful and tasted amazing, we were able to do a cake tasting to choose what flavors we wanted and we decided to go with the chocolate peanut butter and also the chocolate caramel and both were amazing! We would highly recommend using them for any event but especially for your wedding you will not be disappointed! Father of the bride here. We started out having Cake Ann solely doing the Wedding Cake, which itself was innovative as my daughter insisted on a "naked cake," it's all the rage. However, as we ran into roadblocks of one sort or another planning the wedding weekend, we ended up holding two events at Cake Ann. Inga and the Cake Ann team were marvelous and helpful setting up both a night before desert meet and greet, as well as the day after get away breakfast (I could not stop eating the rugeluch). Working with the Cake Ann team was not only a yummy treat, but a pleasure from start to finish.

We chose Cake Ann for our wedding cake and cupcakes for our reception. They were responsive and organized during the planning process and very patient during our tasting giving us many flavors to try until we found the perfect combination. The final product was beautiful and exactly what we wanted.

Inga was delightful to work with and our cake was absolutely delicious! She helped us fine tune exactly what we wanted it to taste like and offered us many different samples/combinations to try to be sure we got exactly what we wanted. We worked with her during some staffing changes, so it could be difficult to reach the shop at times, but at the end of the day, Inga delivered exactly what we had discussed and we were so thrilled with our cake!

Inga sat down to meet with us to design our dream cake and custom flavor profile and walked us through each step in determining exactly what we would need for our wedding. We always love Cake Ann’s baked goods and absolutely loved our wedding cake the day of. We highly recommend Inga and the Cake Ann team for your bakery needs!!

We had a fantastic experience with Cake Ann for our wedding! I worked with Karlee through the sales process, and with Inga for the tasting, and both were truly pleasant to work with. They made the experience so easy for us and made sure everything was perfect. We tried a few different combinations at our tasting, and each was absolutely delicious. Inga at Cake Ann did a great job with our wedding cake. We were able to try numerous flavors at our tasting and went with a unique cake and icing combination. Inga made a beautiful cake, adorned with pearl details and flowers from our florist. I can't wait to have the cake again at our 1 year anniversary!

I'm all about supporting local businesses and Cake Ann is a perfect one for your wedding cake. I had a hard time find a bakery that wasn't outrageous priced for a two-tier cake until I found Cake Ann. Inga was a pleasure to work with! We had the most delicious coconut cake and then another tier with fresh berry filling. We always pop by for a treat now when we are in the area!

Cake Ann was amazing! A fun, flexible tasting experience and a delicious and beautiful final product of a cake (chocolate cake and salted caramel buttercream, try it!). They even made a small vegan and gluten-free wedding cake at no extra cost to serve to our guests with dietary restrictions!

Cake Ann is a hidden gem, and we could not be happier that we found them for our wedding-day desserts! We had a 3-tiered, 2-flavor cake and dozens of macarons, which were all so delicious and at a much more affordable price point than any other bakery in the area. They worked with us to pick macaron flavors that were all in the color family of our wedding florals, and they were so responsive to the details we wanted for our wedding cake. From our tasting appointment to our wedding day, working with Cake Ann was a wonderful experience. After asking many questions about my dessert preferences and what I envisioned for our wedding day, Inga served me at least 4 difference generous slices of cake and several different macarons, without any charge, in comparison to the $50 charge for tastings that most other Boston/North Shore bakeries charge. On top of that, she sent me home with a box full of cake slices and macarons for my husband to try, as he had been unable to come with me to the tasting. Any communication that we had with Cake Ann throughout our planning process was very prompt and easy. Our guests completely devoured the cake and macarons at our wedding, and we are already looking forward to ordering another Cake Ann cake for our one-year anniversary! We highly recommend Cake Ann to anyone looking for a bakery for their wedding or any other special occasion.

Inga and her crew at Cake Ann made a brilliant confetti and Oreo wedding cake for my daughter’s June wedding. The cake arrived on time in perfect condition and was a huge hit. Not one piece of cake remained after the weekend festivities.

We knew we were going to hire Cake Ann for our wedding as soon as we tasted their chocolate cake at our Beauport tasting. Inga was a pleasure to work with and helped us put together a beautiful dessert table with a great variety. Our chocolate cutting cake was adorable, I can't wait to see our photos from our photographer. And all our guests raved about the French macarons and panna cotta!

We are so happy we used Cake Ann for our wedding at the Beauport Hotel! Inga perfectly understood what we wanted and our cake was BEAUTIFUL. We had an amazing experience with Cake Ann and our wedding! First of all, Inga is amazing and so kind. She spent all the time needed with us at the cake tasting and later when we were deciding on the cake design. The cake came out beautifully! We got so many compliments and even a family member told me “I don’t even like cake or desserts in general, but that cake was amazing!!” It looked gorgeous as well. I am so glad we live in the area so we can go back and visit, so happy to have Cake Ann as our favorite local bakery and new beautiful location on the water too :) Would recommend without reservation! 😊

My now husband doesn't like sweets, but they made it their mission to find a cake he would like. The chocolate cake with salted caramel buttercream was spectacular!!! He loved it and so so everyone else! I am a baker and I'm very picky, and I can't recommend Cake Ann enough!! The staff are lovely and the cake was gorgeous and delicious!!!!

Our wedding cake was absolute perfection. Not only was it gorgeous but exactly what we envisioned. We did a German Chocolate Cake with a white buttercream frosting which was so delicious!! Inga and the team at Cake Ann were a pleasure to work with and would use them again in a heartbeat!

Inga and the team at Cake Ann were amazing to work with! Inga was so easy to work with, even when postponing our wedding 3 times due to Covid. Inga and the team made us the a delicious vanilla and chocolate with berry filling cake with buttercream frosting and couldn’t wait a full year to eat the top tier. My husband and I will definitely celebrate our anniversary each year with a dessert from Cake Ann.

She was super attentive and helpful during the tasting/design portion, everything was exactly how we wanted it and to top it off the cake was delicious (don't pass up on the Bavarian Buttercream). Inga baked so many cupcakes for our June wedding and a cutting cake. The flavors of the cupcakes were SO delicious and she was of great assistance giving us an idea of what flavors go great together. Our vanilla and chocolate ganache cutting cake was heaven and designed perfectly to a photo I showed her. Be sure to visit her little bakery in Rockport for other tasty treats and cupcakes! We used Cake Ann for our wedding cake and desserts. Inga was so helpful and laid back through the craziness of covid. All of our guests LOVED all flavors, but especially the vanilla berry cupcakes. She is priced very reasonably and very knowledgeable about her craft- we would absolutely recommend!

Inga is the best! I had a simple but very specific inspiration for my cake and she made it come to life! I am not a huge wedding cake person, but this cake tasted amazing and looked just as I wanted. So happy we decided to work with her.

We used Cake Ann as our wedding cake baker for our wedding in September 2019. What really stood out to me about this baker over others was the passion of this bakery and the quality of their ingredients. Our wedding cake was a beautiful buttercream cake with four tiers. It was perfectly positioned and had differing sized tiers as requested which looked extra dramatic. The simple, yet elegant buttercream was gorgeous and was stunning with the roses, greenery and succulents I had brought in by our florist to go on each tier. The cake itself was DELICIOUS! Wedding cakes can be weirdly not that great or just too out there, but I truly LOVED the quality of our cake. The chocolate cake itself was rich, moist and delicious even before adding in the salted caramel frosting. The vanilla cake had a classic pound cake-like texture which was a perfect base for a berry and lemon curd spread. Lastly, we had a layer of spice cake which is my husband’s favorite type of cake. The cake was light and fluffy with a cinnamon and spice flavor that was well balanced with a cream cheese frosting. All these decadent flavors were wrapped in a perfect buttercream frosting. The owner was so easy to work with, delivered on time and prices were reasonable. I would definitely recommend this vendor!

Inga did a dessert bar and a cutting cake for our wedding on 10/12/19. She was incredible to work with! We were not totally sure what kind of desserts we wanted at our wedding and during the tasting she got to know us and starting throwing out ideas of desserts she thought we would like and she nailed it completely!! After the tasting I did not have to worry about a single thing, she coordinated with the vendor and everything was taken care of. She was absolutely amazing!!!

Inga and the Cake Ann team provided the desserts for our wedding on 11/2/18, and we were so pleased with the work they did! Inga is such a delightful person to work with and was a pleasure to worth with during the initial tasting. She was able to take our favorite desserts and turn them into an offering that all our wedding guests could enjoy. We did mini desserts and they were such a hit! We especially recommend the mini creme brulees :) Cake Ann had previous experience working with our venue and caterer, and it showed. Everything was delivered seamlessly, and everyone loved the desserts. Inga is so kind and accommodating, and if you’re going to have a wedding in the Gloucester area, she’s your best bet for a cake or desserts.

I am so glad we found Cake Ann! Working with Inga was so great; she is so nice and really listened to what we were looking for. Our cake was absolutely beautiful and so good. We got so many compliments! We took the top layer home to freeze for next year, but couldn't wait that long and decided to eat it instead :-) The cake was so moist that we are still eating it two weeks later and it isn't stale! I can't recommend Cake Ann enough.

Inga made our wedding cake for our wedding aboard a local schooner, and the whole process of tasting, picking a cake, and the end result were all amazing. She was so kind, accomodating, thoughtful, and went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect for us. She mixed up some amazing flavors on the spot for us to try, including an out of the box cardamom and orange flower water combo that was absolutely delicious. We ultimately decided on an almond and raspberry cake which was moist, flavorful, and elegant. Everything was perfect, fresh, and put together just right and our guests were so impressed with the cake. Cake Ann not only creates amazing cake (which they most certainly do) but Inga has been amazing to work with and we felt so cared about throughout.

We had been to so many different cake tastings with different caterers and bridal shows, all of which tasted like your average wedding cake. We were so happy to find this bakery because the cakes were never dry, the frosting was always fresh and tasted homemade, and we loved the customer service they provided. Inga is an artist, who is very creative with a vision, and can bake up a storm!! We initially used Cake Ann for our engagement party cake, and was so happy with it that we used her for our wedding as well! Inga also is not limited just to cakes. We chose 2 cakes to serve at our wedding, in addition to 3 petite desserts (finger foods). We also had Inga cater our breakfast for the wedding party the day of the wedding with meat pies, vegetarian tart, croissants, fresh fruit, coffee, etc. which were fabulous!

Inga did a great job! She listened to our somewhat disjointed thoughts on what we wanted and helped us come up with 2 unique cake flavors and an awesome vision for the display cake. It turned out gorgeous and delicious, and she made the whole process very easy and was sure to check in and confirm everything with us. Also she always gave us goodies to try when we stopped by the shop :)

Inga made our wedding cake and did an AMAZING job. Working with her was great -- every time we stopped by she was happy to have us try something new she had whipped up. The first time we dropped in -- without an appointment since we were in the area -- she put together an impromptu tasting. After we tried her chocolate cake (moist and delicious) we knew we were going to work with her. She had a dedication to using high quality real ingredients which you can taste in her cakes. She was extremely flexible and adaptable to what we wanted for our wedding, had great ideas but was also willing to totally customize the cake flavor/combo/look to our preferences. We went with two flavors - vanilla with salted caramel, which was awesome, and chocolate with chocolate ganache and chocolate hazelnut (the icing was just an idea we had, and she was totally willing to make it happen). The cake was beautifully and artfully decorated, tasted awesome the day of (and even at home a week later). We could not recommend her more highly.
