even there!! They didn't follow up with us for MONTHS with our sketch, the flavors we picked, and the pricing for additional tiers. It took me, my mom, and my event planner several phone calls and emails for them to finally get back to us (a month before the wedding) 2. The flavors were not anything to write home about. Some of the guests said the frosting just tasted like butter. Some guests did say the lemon flavor was really good. 3. The extra $$ we paid for the design was not at all worth it. The design I had discussed with her assistant was completely different then what we got that day. I was so disappointed that we had paid extra money for a bland looking cake. Overall I was extremely disappointed with the service, the flavor, and the design...all 3 things that are a must have in a cake!!!

s. Since our vendor (Chicago Athletic Association) outsources its cake-making, we were a little dubious but wound up very pleased and grateful that they chose Cake Chicago. Would definitely recommend!

helped us work though all our crazy ideas and figure out exactly what we wanted. The cake was perfect and beautiful and the flavors were AMAZING. No joke, I ate my cake, and any left overs of my bridal party ( there were not many). They are the best, and I cannot recommend them enough! THANK YOU!!

h one so unique and special. Jo-Anne's background in science makes an noticeable difference in her baking, and the experience for the couple getting married. She is also an artist, so she worked with us for the perfect design and decor for our cake. Our cake turned out so artfully done and delicious. I highly recommend Cake Chicago!

loving, and it is so well portrayed in her work. She made the most delicious and beautiful cake for our wedding. Not just the one cake, I had requested that she makes another cake that is eggless for some of my guests, which was as delicious as the main cake. And just to pamper me (the Bride) even more, she made a special piece for me with pineapple filling as I had mention to her that I like pineapple filling. I couldn't have asked for more. There is something magical about her cakes - I remember being jittery and stressed during my reception which literally got "cut away" as I cut the first piece of my wedding cake. Followed by the yummy goodness of the first bite. I look forward to many more cakes from Cake Chicago as I would like them to be a part every important milestone in my life :)

My cake was not only the design I picked It was also my favorite cake ever! It was light and delicious and my guests loved it! I look forward to eating our anniversary cake in a year!

Our experience with Cake Chicago was perfect. The cake tasting was so great and JoAnne was so knowledgeable and fun. The best part of this experience though was the cake at the wedding. I shared JoAnne a picture of my dress and how I wanted to incorporate a couple things with my dress/shoes and she created the cake better than I could have imagined. She is truly extremely talented at what she does. Not only was the cake stunning, it tasted great. Can't recommend JoAnne and Cake Chicago enough. Thank you for making a perfect cake. We will be forever grateful.

we decided to try Cake and so very happy and fortunate we made the change. First, Joanne was able to meet with us on a day and time that was most convenient for us, and we were able to easily schedule an appointment without waiting a month. They hosted a great tasting with a wonderful presentation on flavor, structure, and logistics. We absolutely loved Joanne’s extremely creative ideas and appreciated how she balanced our original vision/concept with practicality with a very wide-open mindset. We originally wanted a galaxy cake or sometimes referred to as a mirror cake, one of the first items we dreamed of having when we first started wedding planning. She was able to work off the idea, and even though it was hard to do a multi-tiered cake using that kind of gloss, she offered to make us a separate “sweet-hearts” mirror cake along with the traditional multi-tiered wedding cake that complimented our original concept and wedding theme. We literally got to have our cake and eat it too! We absolutely loved the final result, which made our wedding day that much more special! We definitely recommend Cake!

To begin with, the cake tasting to choose the two different kinds of cake with different fillings and icings was well organized and informative, but also so FUN--all because of Jo-Anne. She was kind enough to meet with our group on a Saturday morning because some were coming from out of town, and she was so enthusiastic and so patient while we experimented and taste-tested all varieties of cakes, fillings and icings until we decided on the perfect combinations. Then she helped with all of the artistic ideas the couple had for creating their one-of-a-kind, special wedding cake. We didn't expect the cake tasting and designing to be one of the most enjoyable memories we made during the wedding planning, but Jo-Anne certainly was the reason why it was! She's professional (she answers emails promptly and follows up) and she's very creative. She absolutely delivered on every detail the bride and groom wanted for their cake. Their gorgeous cake was made exactly as they had discussed, and Jo-Anne and her CAKE team did not disappoint with the beautiful design or flavors. So many guests commented on how stunningly beautiful the cake was (Jo-Anne even coordinated the final touches with the florist), and how really delicious each kind of cake was. Jo-Anne really was so lovely to work with and cared so personally that everything was just right with her product. We loved her cakes so much that since the wedding, we have special ordered her Jar'd Cakes for Mother's Days, and Father's Days, and birthdays and other special occasions; we've had cakes shipped all over! Everyone loves them, and the cakes are always fresh and perfect and arrive on schedule. We'll certainly continue to order from CAKE, and I know the couple looks forward to their First Anniversary cake Jo-Anne has so kindly offered to make by recreating the flavors from their wedding cake. We truly love CAKE sweet food Chicago!

our tasting, we knew this was the place for us. We had a blast trying all of the different flavor combinations, and Jo-Anne helped us find the perfect flavors. Jo-Anne also worked with us to create a peanut butter and jelly cake for my brother-in-law's birthday the day after our wedding-- it was a total hit! I highly recommend Cake!

Jo-Anne did an amazing job on our caked and was super accommodating. My groom wanted banana cake and I wanted not banana cake. Jo-Anne lead us through a spectacular cake tasting, that included banana, which it was delicious but not for me on my wedding day. However, with CAKE we were able to choose 2 different cake combos. Jo-Anne helped us narrow our other cake tier flavors down to almond cake with a creme brule filling on half and the other half was white butter milk cake with praline filling, they roast the hazelnuts in house! In between the 2 combos was a swipe of raspberry filling with butter cream. She offered to make as much or as little (even just one slice) of either flavor combination. We opted for a 50/50 distribution and we're really glad that we did because everyone loved the cake and those lucky enough to have had both, could not pick their favorite. Jo-Anne and her team deserve a big "THANK YOU!". We can wait to have more!

an incredibly skilled baker (and a food scientist!) who took the time to explain things about the different types of cakes & fillings at our tasting, AND she is so eager to go above & beyond to make sure her clients are happy. Most important of all, her cakes are DELICIOUS! She did an incredible job for our surprise groom's cake - a Chicago themed design with banana cake and chocolate fudge - which was a complete hit with the groom and the guests!! It looked too picture perfect to eat... but we all went back for seconds. The wedding cake was beautiful and just as I envisioned it - and all of our guests were raving about how delicious it was. It was so good we didn't have any leftovers! Thank you Jo-Anne and team for the incredible cakes that helped make our wedding weekend so happy & memorable!

Not only was our cake stunningly beautiful, but we are still receiving compliments from guests on how it was the best they've ever tasted. My husband and I often joke that we're looking forward to our first anniversary just for the cake!
