Based out of Weymouth, MA, Cake Monstah is a bakery that specializes in sculpted and bespoke wedding cakes. Owner Michelle Scurio is available to work with couples throughout the Boston area and along the South Shore, sharing her artistically designed sweet treats.
Michelle opened Cake Monstah in 2010, following on from her lifetime passion for baking. Throughout her time in the kitchen, she's earned numerous awards and accolades for her creative cakes. This includes taking first place in various cake competitions throughout the South Shore and New England. Her delicious creations have also been featured in magazines like The Knot, American Cake Decorating, and Cake & Sugarcraft. She has made TV baking appearances competing on both Food Network and Hulu! She has been awarded the prestigious Best of Boston award for her wedding cakes by Boston Magazine and Boston Weddings Magazine for two years in a row, winning in both 2024 and 2025.
Fondant is one of her favorite materials to work with, thanks to the room it gives her to flex her artistic muscles. If she had to choose one kitchen tool she couldn’t live without she says it would easily be her airbrush! Her favorite cakes to create are those that include sculpting and painting.
You'll get to work closely with Michelle at Cake Monstah to design a bespoke wedding cake for your big day. You'll have the opportunity to sample some of the flavors on offer at a tasting, making sure every bite on the day is as mouthwatering as you've imagined. This bakery can also provide cookies, cupcakes, hand pies, whoopee pies, and macarons. On the day of your wedding, you can rest assured that Michelle will manage the delivery and setup of your cake, expertly showing off your chosen design.

Michelle Scurio, a Johnson & Wales alumna, has always had a love and passion for baking. It wasn’t until the first time she decorated a cake that she realized this would be her favorite art medium! Her favorite tool in the kitchen is a pastry air brush and she loves working with fondant and creating custom pieces of edible art!

We loved working with Michelle and she made the process so effortless, easy, and DELICIOUS. Michelle created a marble cake (when was the last time you saw marble? so nostalgic!!) with oreo filling and vanilla buttercream. It was absolutely delicious! She also did such a fun cascading disco ball effect on the cake that fit perfectly with our "urban forest disco" theme. Unfortunately we forgot to freeze the top layer of our cake before going on our minimoon, so we couldn't eat it when we got back. I have already told Michelle I'll be coming back to her to recreate the cake for our 1 year anniversary!! We loved working with Michelle and would recommend her to anyone looking for a delicious, gorgeous (and pretty affordable!) wedding cake.

Michelle seriously exceeded my expectations for our wedding cake. It was stunning. I still dream about it. We picked an almond cake with a chocolate buttercream and then a marble cake with chocolate fudge buttercream filling. Where do I even begin- Michelle is seriously the coolest human being ever. The process of building our wedding cake could not have been easier. From the tasting to the design, and even to the day of, this was easily the least stressful part of the entire wedding. And not to mention how absolutely delicious the cake itself was. Michelle is amazing! I’ve used her previously for a speciality birthday cake order and for holiday goodies. This time I reached out to her to complete a custom cake and cookies for my sister’s bridal shower. The cake was a double chocolate fudge lambeth heart cake. It was so good! and the detail was amazing. We didn’t have any leftovers and everyone asked where we had got it from. The cookies were a big hit too! I am a wedding planner that worked this past weekend with Michelle with Cake Monstah! All I can say is wow! From the very first time I reached out to her so we could coordinate all the details for day of she was beyond responsive and so personable! She made sure to confirm all the details with me so that day of things would flow perfectly & the cake would be there on time! Day of they arrived on time and the cake looked absolutely incredible! The couple had made some paper flowers that they wanted on the cake, they set it up for us and had it ready to go come time for guests to arrive and see it! Not to mention they had the biggest smiles on their face while doing it! I first found out about Michelle on Instagram 2 years ago. I reached out to her for my daughters 16th birthday. She reached back out to me with a response within 24 hrs. She made a delicious tie dye cake for my baby girl. We all loved it in our house, so much that I reached out to her again 2 years later regarding my wedding cake.. Again, she responded in a timely fashion I was able to secure the date and she made our beautiful, delicious 3 tier wedding cake. Michelle has always kept her professionalism, even during the time I was late to pick up my cake tasting samples for my wedding cake. She understood and was accommodating because we had gotten lost lol. Working with Michelle was so wonderful. Setting up our tasting was very easy and the cakes/fillings/frostings were all so delicious! We had a great meeting and showed Michelle photos of cakes we liked and answered a few questions and let her take it from there. Her responsiveness and experience and phenomenal talent were evident throughout our planning. And the tasting process she has is a treat.
The end product (red velvet with butter cream frosting) was amazing! THE best cake I have ever had. Ever. Every last morsel eagerly consumed by our guests who could not have had nicer things to say.

Michelle made a gorgeous blue toned vintage heart shaped cake for my elopement this September and it was beyond perfect. We were absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the cake Michelle designed. We wanted to do a fun wedding cake so we did a Harry Potter/ Marvel mashup. It was a huge hit, we got soo many compliments and it was absolutely DELICIOUS. The only bad thing was that we had to cut into it!!!! If design is important to you, this is absolutely your baker! Michelle has such INCREDIBLE talent and she’s always trying new things (seriously, check out her Instagram). We booked our wedding cake with Michelle without a tasting (we live out of state), but we did eventually manage to squeeze in a tasting when we were in town. Michelle was very accommodating and worked around our schedule, plus the cakes were super yummy! We ended up going with coconut cake and almond frosting. But the real star of the show is the design. Michelle took my reference photos, which were all wildly different, and created this beautiful masterpiece that looked absolutely stunning at our reception. And she does it all without even having a store front! Absolutely recommend working with her for your wedding!

I had the pleasure of attending a wedding that Cake Monstah cookies were a favor. It was hard to resist opening the cookies before the first course was served and after one taste is was even harder to not go around the venue trying to find more. Working with Michelle was a dream! I truly wasn’t even sure if I wanted to bother with a cake for my wedding - until I ate the cake at my bridal shower! It was so delicious that I immediately reached out to Michelle to see if she had any availability. The Cake Monstah (Michelle) made us the most beautiful and delicious wedding cake! We were looking for a modern and sleek marble two tier cake and The Cake Monstah delivered! Our cake was absolutely stunning but it tasted even better. We chose two different flavors of cake with different flavored icings to incorporate traditional and one less traditional cake style. Both flavors were absolutely incredible. Everyone of our guests ate both flavors and there was barley any cake left over after the reception.
Michelle is also amazing to work with! She was extremely helpful when it came to picking a wedding cake design and the wedding cake flavors. We often asked for advice and appreciated Michelle’s honesty when we were bringing our wedding cake to life.

Michelle was so accommodating and so professional! She hit all my desires for a wedding cake from the esthetics to taste! But not only that, she put special care into every aspect for my special day. We had to move our wedding up a whole year early due to my father's illness. During his chemo, he was very picky with food so he didn't enjoy much. Michelle made it her goal to make my wedding cake so delicious that my dad ate the whole thing! It really warmed my heart to see him genuinely enjoying something he ate. The only difficult part was narrowing our choices down to 4 cupcake flavors; we loved every single cake/frosting combination we tried! Michelle went the extra mile to decorate the cupcakes with elegant candy pearls. Guests of all ages raved about them!

Michelle’s cake was delicious and gorgeous; she totally lived up to our vision and beyond. We did a spice cake with maple buttercream to tie into the fall vibes of our wedding and it was SO delicious. Our guests were raving about it!!

Michelle is beyond talented! Her mini hands pies and whoppie pies were delicious and an absolute hit at our wedding. Her cake and frosting combinations are to die for! My husband and I would recommend her again and again!

Michelle is hands down just the best of the best! Not only did she do my wedding cake but I have also hired her for multiple birthday cakes. Her designs and creativity is simply outstanding, and the taste of her cakes are just to die for! I would choose her over and over and over again!

Our wedding cake was "the best cake I've ever tasted" by every single one of our wedding guests! We will be ordering this cake again, because the poor groom wasn't quick enough to grab a slice! Went so fast! So delicious! We will be repeat customers for sure!
