Cake Placid

Absolutely delicious and high quality. Our guests loved the tasty treats that were all so beautifully decorated. We ordered a birch bark wedding cake, and about 40 different cupcakes and 40 s'mores bars. Everything came out excellent. The only exception was communication throughout the whole process--we were unable to meet in person for a consultation because they were too busy. We ended up ordering a sample box and choosing our desert options from there. Overall, we still would recommend Cake Placid for the quality of the desserts.

Our cake was to die for! We asked for a birch log look and our guests thought the cake was an actual tree! It was so beautiful and was even better tasting. We had a marble cake with buttercream frosting and it tasted so good. We can't wait for our first anniversary to have it all over again!

Cake Placid made the cake and all the goodies for our wedding dessert table in July at Harmony Gold Club in Port Kent and I could not be happier with my decision to hire them! The selection of desserts including calorie bars, chocolate dipped strawberries, tarts, cookies and more disappeared quick and were enjoyed by everyone. The pink champagne mini cupcakes in particular were SO well received by our guests (and my personal favorite). The artists at the bakery did a wonderful job with our cake, creating exactly the look we wanted while not sacrificing the taste and quality of the cake. It was delicious! While the delivery was a tad late, they made up for it by setting up the dessert table quickly, efficiently and beautifully. The team member that delivered the goodies were lovely as well. If you’re looking for a dessert caterer in the Adirondacks, stop at Cake Placid. Beautifully presented, delicious and reasonably priced!

Instead of the traditional large wedding cake, we decided to order a small cake to cut and lots of mini deserts for variety. The cake was beautiful and the desserts were so delicious! Everything was dropped off in a timely manner and set up beautifully. My only reason for the 4 star rating (instead of 5) is that communication leading up to the wedding was sometimes tricky - we would have loved to sit down and chat with someone and maybe taste some samples instead of blind ordering. Unfortunately we were told they were too busy (to be fair, we were only available on weekends). We ended up swinging by on our own and purchasing a bunch of different desserts to try instead.

Cake Placid made our wedding cake and it was delicious and it looked amazing. We sent Magee a picture of buttercream mountains and trees as the design that we wanted and she did an wonderful job! The cake was so beautiful. We also had cupcakes, mini fruit tarts, and smores bars that were great! From the beginning Magee was so friendly and professional. She had documents with all of the flavor options and other desserts to choose from. They also have beautiful cake stand available to rent. Thank you Cake Placid for helping make our wedding perfect!

Delicious!! Cake Placid created a beautiful cake topper for my husband and I to cut at our wedding. They also made very yummy (and beautiful) mini cupcakes. The display was great and everyone loved the flavors. Thank you!

We bought cupcakes from Cake Placid for our rehearsal dinner, and they were a big hit. We initially had a hard time getting in touch with the shop (we even stopped in to try to place an order and were told they were too busy to talk with us) but I think they later hired additional staff and communication improved. In the end, we were able to order several dozen mini-cupcakes in custom flavor combinations for a very reasonable price. And most importantly, the cupcakes were delicious! We didn't try their wedding cakes but we would recommend their cupcakes for people looking for smaller dessert options.

We recently were married in Wilmington and hired Jennifer for our Wedding Cake. I knew she made awesome cupcakes and wanted to hire her for our wedding. She let us taste a few different flavors and explained the multiple cake options we had. She was great! The finished product was perfect! It was exactly what we wanted, tasted wonderful and was extremely reasonable! I would Definitely suggest using Cake Placid for your next event!!! PS: when you get a chance, try her cupcakes, they are absolutely amazing!!!

To this day I think of how wonderful our cake was for our wedding, and people still comment on how great the cupcakes were! Jen with Cake Placid was great to work with and made planning a main staple for a wedding so easy even with me being out of state. There are so many options to choose from at her bakery! Jen was very responsive to emails and offered up so many great ideas to stay within our budget. In the end she created a beautiful cake for us to do the traditional cutting of and then some fantastic cupcakes of various flavors for everyone to enjoy. Thank you so much Jen for our outstanding wedding cake/cupcakes!

Jen was very nice and helpful! We had a realativly simple design for our cake but we chose a very unique flavor from her bakery and the cake was great! We look forward to going to her new bakery for cupcakes the next time were in Placid!

Our wedding cake was exactly as we had pictured it! Jen was so easy to work with and made it such a relaxed process. And let's not forget how DELICIOUS the cake was! I ended up stealing the groom's piece!

Jennifer did a great job! She really took my ideas and brought them to life! She does a beautiful job and she is a real joy to work with :)
